My Hostage. Her Secret. Our Enemy.
Taking the commissioner’s daughter wasn’t part of the plan. It should have been an easy smash and grab. Instead I captured Lara, so scared and helpless… girl is an inferno, threatening to consume everything I hold dear.
She has a dark past, and an even darker purpose…
I’ll have to pry her secrets out of her. Before they destroy us both.
“Dom” is a dark mafia romance with a gothic twist, Book 4 in the Underworld series. It’s a stand-alone novel, full of mystery, danger, and blazing hot bedroom scenes. For mature readers only!!!
The Lark Notes:
Ivan’s little brother Dom is forced into an intense love with Lara. Look for the bonus epilogue with cameos from Ivan, Sloane, Sasha, and Snow. – Sophiemore
This is my second book by Sophie Lark, and she’s definitely earned me as a lifer. I’m not sure I love her writing to the point that I’ll set alerts to pick up her new releases same day, but I will definitely be keeping my eye out and if I see anything pop up, it’ll be added to my TBR with a quickness!
I’m not sure if I would’ve had more of an emotional pull to this book had I read the rest of the series or not—I realized after picking it up it’s actually the final book—but it felt satisfying as a standalone. And, honestly, there was plenty of emotional impact without knowing the other characters or plot lines.
Lara was such a relatable and sweet heroine. She had some serious inner strength going on despite a heartbreaking past, and when Dominik entered the picture, I found myself rooting for him to help her find revenge. (And, I’ll admit, his possessiveness and do-anything-for-her mentality was hot af. Just sayin’.)
This is the final book in the Colors of Crime series. I love that each book can be read as a standalone and how you just fall in love with all the characters. Dom and Lara heat up the pages with their chemistry and the story is so action packed and the twists and turns will have you on a wild ride! This is a must read! Epic!
Dom and Lara are the freaking cutest. My heart was in my throat at some parts, but they both come out on the other side. And I love that Dom shared his wedding with Ivan. I was sobbing because I was so happy
I really have been enjoying the Underworld Series. Talk about amazing alpha men…..
We first meet Dom in the book, “Ivan”, who is his brother. Ivan’s story is awesome, so if you haven’t read it yet do so before you read this one. Dom is supposed to be the gentler of the two brothers, and it really shows is this book. He meets Lara in an unconventional way, but it’s still a sweet love story. We also get to learn more about Snow and how well he’s doing in his boxing career.
Sophie amazes me every time I read another one of her books. I believe that she must spend hours researching the history of the places and people she writes about because they’re in perfect detail, even when she’s “speaking” the language, whether it be Italian, Polish, or Russian. This is one of the reasons why I love her books so much. I don’t feel like I am just reading a story about two people who are lusting after each other and they have wonderful sex. I am learning about a country and its history. History is my favorite subject, especially Russian history, so these books have been so much fun for me.
Lara has a secret. One that threatens to consume her. She’s in Moscow with her commissioner father. When Lara is taken to the police station for her own safety, the Bratva proves they can get in anywhere and take anything they want. What she wasn’t expecting was Dom.
Dom is the brother of Bratva leader Ivan. His simple plan to infiltrate the police station and remove their apprehended goods wasn’t supposed to involve kidnapping. What better way to make the new commissioner understand his mafia cleanup wasn’t going to make them flinch. He wasn’t expecting Lara.
When Dom and Lara reunite, their unconventional meeting clings to the surface but neither let it control their destiny. Dom knows Lara is hiding something, but he doesn’t realize the magnitude of what she’s carrying around with her when her secrets are revealed. Talk about a huge, unsuspecting plot twist. OMG.
I love the characters. They are written well and are realistic. There are so many twists and turns in Ash and I was on the edge of my seat. I had a hard time putting the book down when real life came calling. Lyrically, the author is a star. Her use of descriptive language, metaphors, and vivid imagery take this book to the next level. Ash hit all of positives for story, character development, world building, passion, and suspense.
My heart is still pounding!
This is an intense yet sweet and sexy ride. Secrets galore and revenge is key. The bond that forms between Lara and Dom is so strong and breathtaking. I couldn’t put it down. My heart didn’t stop racing until the last word. But now I’m sad it’s over. A serious book hangover is headed my way.
I loved this book!!!!! All books in the Colors of Crime series are awesome.
I wasn’t too sure I was going to like this series so I chose the book that intrigued me most. I was pleasantly surprised. I loved this book so I’m going to go back and read the rest of the series
I received a free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review
** spoiler alert ** She has always lived in a bubble, he can’t help, but being drawn in. Will her past come back to haunt them? Will she accept who he really is?
Just like the rest of the books in this series, this one sucked me right in. It had the right amount of steam, romance, and blood to satisfy all of my cravings. I loved how despite her past, she was strong and was able to see past his title to who he was. I loved how he wanted to protect her, but let her have her wings. Great read and can’t wait to read more from this author!
I received an advance free copy to voluntarily review. As with some of Lark’s other books, it took me a little while to get into the book, but once I did I was swallowed up in the world of Lara and Dom. He is the bad boy she swore she wouldn’t fall for as a young girl, but once he captures her attention its not long before he has her heart as well.
After losing a shipment to the police Dom is determined to get it back…what he finds while attempting as much is the innocent daughter of the commissioner…can he resist the pull she has on him or will he sacrifice everything for her to betray him. I was so enthralled with everything Dom and Lara I felt like I was right there with them. With all the lies and secretes between them can they make it work or will they destroy each other. Loved this book and only gave it four stars because it took so long to actually grab my attention but once it did I would give it a 5 star ending. Grab your copy today ppl.
Steamy and sweet Russian mafia – oxymoron maybe but accurate. Great book!
I have loved this series of standalone mafia stories, somewhat connected but not critically so. Ms. Lark has shown her storytelling ability in this one for sure. Dom or Dominik Petrov is the younger brother to Ivan whose story we read in EMERALD and who is the leader of the Russian Bratva. Dom is envious of Ivan’s new loving relationship. He wants someone to love and to be loved. Through a series of events he kidnaps a beautiful young woman who is the daughter of the Police Commissioner. Because he can’t stop thinking of Lara, he causes them to “meet by accident” at a museum, The Hermitage. Thus, starts a thrilling, steamy, but sweet relationship between two unlikely people. But will the secrets reveal that this connection is not so hard to believe? Is Lara more than she shows Dom and the world? There are people who want to put the Petrovs in their place, prison. And, there are other people who want a lot more from Lara.
I couldn’t read the last five chapters fast enough. So exciting and thrilling. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens and it is recommended if you like mafia stories with heart. I loved it! Definitely more than 5 stars…
In St Petersburg Russia the Bratva, Petrov’s are out one night to get a load of marijuana. On the way back to pier all is to quiet and Dom has his two other men abort leaving the goods behind. Now they have to get to police station and to get it back. Now Pavla has his hands full with the Petrov’s and Avo getting the ledger from home and have Lara read it as only one from the family can deciper it. There’s so much action, drama, wonderful characters and romance that kept me on the edge of my seat till done.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is book eight in the Colors of Crime series. This is the final book in this amazing series. Wow, what a fantastic read! Lara’s secrets put some crazy twists in this story that I absolutely loved. There is so much in this series and this book is the perfect red bow to tie up the series. This makes me as sad as it is exciting. It is always sad to come to the end to a great series but I am so excited to see what comes next from this author. This series is a must read if you love a dark mafia story and if you are new to this genre, there is no better place to dip your toe in the water. Enjoy!

Just the absolute best story. It had me captivated from the beginning with the hot steamy scenes. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Everything I like to read about and more. Such a great story I will read again and again. A keeper!!
This was such a great series and it ended perfectly. I loved Dom and Lara’s story. It was great seeing Ivan and Sloane. Those two crack me up. Lara and Dom meet in an unconventional way, but perfect for this series. There is action, suspense, secrets revealed and some twists and turns. These two have an undeniable attraction and, wow, their chemistry is explosively hot. They are each other’s half. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. Sophie does an excellent job of hooking you in at the beginning and not letting go. You will probably end up still wanting more. I know I did. Don’t miss out on this book, better yet, don’t miss out on this series.
Laura Erdeli is escaping her past and trying to live her life, but as a wonderful and beautiful woman who is a virgin has lived a sheltered life. But living in St. Petersburg, she finally starts going out and living. But when she almost gets kidnapped, the Chief has her under this thumb, until they can’t take it anymore. But what happens when you meet the Bravta Boss and start to have feelings for him? Will this work for them? Can Dom keep her safe?
Dom is a Bravta Boss with his brother as the Don of the Petrov Family, but when he loses a shipment and wants to get it back, he finds the Chief’s daughter and wants to possess her in every way possible. But when he gets the shipment back and enters Laura’s life, can he keep her safe from everyone, including her father? Will his brother approve? Will romance win?
This is a story about love, lust, romance, mystery, revenge, vengeance, justice and so much more. You will see the chemistry between Dom and Laura and it is undeniable. You will love this book and so much more!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.
Ash, a standalone novel, is the final book in the Color of Crimes series and Sophie has given us an amazing story. Dom is the brother of Ivan from the book Emerald and he meets Lara, a young woman with many secrets while doing a job. Their story is beautiful but filled with mystery, tragedy, lust, and revenge. I received this as an ARC on Book Sirens and voluntarily give my review.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Wow what another great book I cannot believe how they can get any better but they do. Dominik Petrov is the brother to the leader in the Petrov family Ivan Russian Bratva. The police commissioner wants to take down the Bratva so now the Bratva needs to get him off their back. Dominick wants to protect their parcel.

Ash, the 8th and final book in the Colors of Crime series by Sophie Lark was engrossing, action packed, swoony and highly entertaining. This was Lara and Dom’s story. These two were so perfectly together. I loved how their relationship developed, and how patient, caring and respectful he was with her. From the start they had intense chemistry and their steamy scenes were hott.
The story was filled with angst, drama, romance, brotherhood with some twists and turns I wasn’t expecting, and it all had me hooked until the end. It was more focused on the family side of the Bratva and not too much on the dark side. I loved the appearance of Ivan and Sloane, they along with the other secondary characters added a level of humor to the story and helped to more it along. Ash was a fantastic addition to the Colors of Crime series. I enjoyed it and would recommend it all lovers of mafia romance.
Lara is sweet and artistic. Dom is strong and possessive. Lara’s father is the police chief, honest to a fault. Dom is from the most feared of all Bratva families. But he’s not the only one with secrets. They’re both broken, in different ways. This story is intense and emotional, with enough action that it kept me on the edge of my seat at times. It never dragged, holding my interest so that I read it in one day. I picked up this series starting at Snow, then read Ink and then Ash. And all I can say is holy cow – this author is incredible!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Dom is the responsible, guarded brother of a Bratva leader. Lara is the police commissioner’s daughter. She’s at the wrong place at the wrong time when their paths cross. Will she be a loose end or Dom’s saving grace? I love this series – dark Bratva romance at it’s finest! It is raw, passionate, dramatic, dangerous, with great world building details, engaging characters and an entertaining plot. Lara is the perfect innocent/damaged partner for Dom who is ready for someone to call his own. I stayed up late to finish “Ash” and it was time well spent! Another great story by Sophie Lark.
