Cozy Talking Dog Mystery
This is an excellent addition to the Talking Dog Detective Agency cozy mystery series. This story has many moments that will make the reader laugh out loud. The plot builds on previous books so they should be read in order. This episode ties up some loose ends from previous books. I hated to see this story end! I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest review.
This is a multi-layered mystery with a lot of bite! A policewoman asks Nala to dig into her boyfriend’s past, naive women are being conned at the dog park and someone wants Nala dead. This book is very skillfully written, with a tight plot and well-developed characters. I received a free copy of this book and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
Its another case for our favorite bumbling detective and her sidekick Max the talking dog who we all love. This time it was just a couple of simple cases. Catching up with a con artist scamming older women with dogs, taking advantage of their dog loving nature. It was also a case that gave her an excuse to go on an undercover date with her favorite cop. The other was a simple background check. One that almost cost her dearly. Max isnt as involved this time as in earlier books of this series but when it counted the most he was there. Dog Park Romeo doesnt have quite as much suspense as her earlier cases but its still an excellent read and one you don’t want to miss. I cant get enough of Nala and Max. Sure hope we dont have to wait long for the next one. Be sure to add this one to your must read asap list.
This was a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When a man who frequents dog parks starts conning older women out of thousands of dollars, an angry victim turns to Nala for help. At the same time, Officer Tyler Goodnight contacts her, asking that she assist a fellow officer, leaving Nala to wonder why he needed to serve as go-between. Max, her talking German Shepherd, speculates if cheeseburgers are involved.
She and Max jump on both cases immediately, asking bestie Karly for help in flushing out the Dog Park Romeo, as they’ve nicknamed the con man, and meeting with Officer Deidre Williams, who wants her live-in boyfriend checked out. Karly doesn’t perform well sniffing out con men, so Nala takes over, equipped with a pin camera and a collar recorder for Max by Elvin, who finds all his databases suspiciously empty of the mysterious boyfriend. Tyler meets her and Max at a dog park to discuss the case, as well as their personal relationship, and everything seems to be going well until Nola’s beloved Beetle explodes.
As she recuperates from her blast injuries, Nala continues her investigation into both the Dog Park Romeo and the mysterious boyfriend, even though Deidre called off her probe via voicemail just before the detonation. Since Nala is out of action, her glamorous mother Gwen volunteers to step in as the Romeo’s target, and, along with Max, proves that police Captain Graham Bonne’s training hasn’t been wasted on his wife, daughter, and granddog.
MK Scott has crafted yet another entertaining Talking Dog Detective Agency mystery, strengthening not only the bonds between Nala, Max, and her parents, but bringing back Tyler to reignite the bond that flared in the beginning of the series.
Nala’s two newest clients have been conned by a person they met in one of the local dog parks. The man will ask them out on a date, then feed the lady some sob story about his poor dog needing something expensive. When the ladies give the man some money for the dog, they never see or hear from him again. Just as she is starting to work on the cases, she gets a phone call from Deidre Williams. Deidre wants Nala to do a background check on her current boyfriend, Magnus McGee.
To compound matters, Sawyer, who shares the office space, informs Nala that he is going to be taking off for a while to help his friend recover after a nasty divorce.
Who is the Dog Park Romeo conning women out of their money? Is Deidre’s boyfriend, Magnus, on the level? Can Nala handle all of the commotion coming at her at once? If needed, where can she turn for help?
The multitude of cases in this book will keep you guessing clear to the end. There story is fast-paced and has plenty of humor throughout.
DOG PARK ROMEO. by ..M K Scott
Karly doesn’t thrust a man that doesn’t owned a dog. Having broken off with Harry, to find he keep good dog treats in his desk drawer for Max,
Nala working on case of a guy hitting on women at the dog park, getting money from them, They have a date, mentions dog needs something and money given. They are using an actual hospital but a pay link to them. Turns out to be a big operation, with many involved. Good cozy mystery of how this was done, that will intrigue readers. Max once again, gives added moments to this story, you almost forget he is a dog.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Dog Park Romeo is another amazing caper with the Talking Dog Detective Agency. I love Nala, Elvin, Max, Kayle, Nala’s parents and the rest of the crew. (Works well as a stand alone; more fun if you have read them all.) Tyler Goodnight asks a favor for a friend – a female cop. Nala also has two older clients who were conned out of money to help sick dogs. That should be enough to keep Nala and Max busy. This is an explosive plot. Who is trying to kill Nala? Why? Is it connected to one of her cases or something else. I can never put these down until I have finished. I highly recommend this and all the books in this series.
