Octo-Cat’s nine lives are on the line when he and Angie finally discover why they’re able to speak to each other… Apparently I’ve been slacking on the job as a paralegal, even though the firm doesn’t know that I’m secretly working as the area’s premier Pet Whisperer P.I. to solve our toughest cases behind the scenes. Now they’ve hired an intern to “help” me manage my workload… manage my workload…
But what the partners don’t realize is that they’ve let a nefarious criminal into our offices. Trust me, Octo-Cat can smell this guy’s stink from a mile away. The worst part? I’m pretty sure he can talk to animals too… and he most definitely isn’t using his talents to solve crimes and defend the innocent.
I’ve always wondered how that zap from an old coffeemaker landed me with supernatural abilities. Now it’s time to find out once and for all. Otherwise I fear I may wind up losing them–and my trusty talking feline sidekick–for good.
more
The law firm of Longfellow, Peters, and Associates has hired an assistant for Angie, now that she’s part-time, and he’s Peter Peters, the annoying cousin of new partner Bethany. When Angie inquires about his qualifications, Peter spits out “I’m her cousin, and I work for minimum wage.”
From his first day, Peter makes sneaky and snarky remarks hinting at Angie’s ability to talk to Octo-Cat. The comments unnerve Angie, but whenever she responds, Peter accuses her of being too sensitive. Until he hands her an address and tells her to be there at 10 p.m.
Naturally, Angie and Octo-Cat decide to check out the location early, which doesn’t go well, but offers clues about a string of baffling robberies taking place in Blueberry Bay’s business district. Events head downhill from there, putting the duo in danger, but eventually revealing just how Angie acquired her special power.
Dog-Eared Delinquent is an especially satisfying addition to the Pet Psychic series, as it not only explains Angie’s gift, but devotes a substantial portion of the story to the ever-growing love between Angie and Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton Russo. With Nan in residence cooking up a storm and forcing Octo-Cat to wear the occasional bow tie (“Et tu, Nan? I thought you loved me”), everyone is ultimately comforted and close, although Charles is still dating that annoying realtor.
Another fun book in this zany series
In this installment, it’s finally revealed why Angie woke up from her near death experience with the ability to communicate with Octo-Cat. So cool. And there was a super fun twist for Angie and Octo-Cat at the end of the book. The development alone is worth the read.
And yes, it’s a bit over the top at times, but IMHO in a very good way! In an oh-my-goodness-that’s-so-funny way! In an I-don’t-take-myself-too-seriously way.
If you’re looking for a good mystery with a lot of laughs, than look no further. I love this series!
Cute story that is fast paced and quick to read. Angie and Octo-cat encounter magic in this story in the series. It’s always fun to see what she is going to deal with next. It does end well but not sure where the author is going since now a majority of the law firm is gone. I guess we will see in the next book .
Octo-cat is back with another crime to solve. This crime is a hard one to crack and puts Octo-cat in danger. Grab the book and see all the action and suspense that happens this time.
Dog-Eared Delinquent by Molly Fitz is the 4th book in the Pet Whisper P.I. Series. Angie and Octo-Cat are investigating Peter Peters, an assistant in Angie office who appears to know she can speak to Octo. This book deals with magic and has twists and turns for Angie and Octo. A quick read and enjoyable. I received this book as an arc for an honest review of it.
I thought this book was an easy read and character buildup was top notch as well as her story telling.
There’s a new intern at Longfellow, Peters, & Associates, where Angie Russo still works part-time, Peter Peters, and is he ever creepy. Angie suspects he might know about her and Octo-Cat…
After the mildly disappointing book 3, I was very much looking forward to DOG-EARED DELINQUENT, and it was certainly not what I’d hoped for. It was much more suspenseful than the previous book, but I was not pleased with the plot twists. It turns out that DOG-EARED DELINQUENT is little more than the introduction to the author’s upcoming series, Paws & Probable Cause, which I will definitely not read. I felt my time was wasted; I did not enjoy this book, I avoid paranormal cozy mysteries.
While I adore Nan, Angie’s grandmother, and the cat (Octo-Cat; I still cannot write the name without cringing), it seems Angie keeps losing brain cells as well as seemingly having suddenly developed “giant boobs”! (Unless it had been mentioned before, but I sincerely doubt it). What is it with female authors’ obsession with ample bosoms recently? This is not only Ms. Fitz, but in general, and is not reflected in my rating, however what seemed like Apple product placement is. And what was that with the episode at the electronics store? It was silly of Angie.
This book made me angry, I felt I had been duped, hence the 2 stars. It started out great, but it was in fact an unnecessary installment, and I’m guessing if you skip this one, you will have missed very little for book 5, as in each book the premise is reexplained. Only the last few pages convinced me to continue with the series. And while there is only a handful of typos, it seems hiring a *third* proofreader is in order, because “a riveting tail”, really? And it wasn’t a play on words.
I’m sticking with the series because it was fun, I want to see how it ends, but I will have to forget DOG-EARED DELINQUENT ever happened.
This was an entertaining, well-written book. In book 4 of the Pet Whisperer P.I. series, Angie’s back at work at the law firm, only to find they have hired an intern to help with her workload. She immediately feels something is off about him, but no one will listen to her. She rallies Octo-Cat and her Nan to help her investigate, but none of them are ready for what they discover. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
This book is a little different to the previous books as Angie and Octo-Cat are not actually solving a mystery but are mixed up in it. We do find out why it is that Angie can talk to Octo-Cat. There are the usually hijinks and Angie manages to get on the wrong side of the law but it all works out in the end.
I’ve been really enjoying this series. This book does have a touch of the paranormal (which isn’t my cup of tea), but I still enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next one.
Peter is a new employer in Angie’s work. He seems to Ben into Angie’s secret. But she is going to unravel the truth even if it’s a very dangerous one.
This one gets more “magical/supernatural” and was IMO different than the first three books in this series. I love Angie and her granny. Loved the secrets revealed and look forward to the next in this series. The ending was such a teaser for book 5!!!
Angie and Octo-Cat are back in action again dealing with a new employee that Angie must work with but doesnt like or trust him. Can they solve this new mystery that is full of suspense, thrills, magic and a dog to keep you turning the pages until the very end to find out if they solve the case or not. Grab your copy today and enjoy this next installment of this fun and exciting series. Now I cant wait until the next book comes out.
Another fun adventure for Angie and Octo-Cat. They have a mystery that needs their expertise.
This book is fun, it has drama, suspense, and mystery.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.
Dog-Eared Delinquent is the 4th book in the Pet Whisperer P.I. series. While just as much fun, this book is dramatically different than the other three. There is the usual cast of characters plus Peter Peters, Angie’s assistant. There is something seriously off about this guy! You can learn why Angie and Octo-Cat are able to communicate. I read straight through.
This book was quite different from the other ones in the series. It involved magic and no one died.
I enjoyed finding out how Angie Russo and Octo-Cat were able to communicate after Angie got electrocuted by the coffee pot at work. If you like reading books about magic and people turning into animals you will like that in this book. I personally do not really enjoy that so this book is not my favorite in the series although I really enjoyed the other parts of the book. It was very suspenseful which I enjoyed and it was not like the other books which was nice too. I also liked wondering if Angie and Octo-Cat had lost their ability to communicate for good, I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This series is so much fun. As a cat lover (ok I like dogs too) I think I have an Octo-cat in my home. It would certainly be handy if I could actually understand what he is telling me or maybe it is better that I can’t. Molly Fitz brings a story with fun characters (I would like to meet Nan) and more than a few surprises. I see some interesting stories in the future.
I received an advance copy of this book. The opinions given are my own.

Whole new spin on things. New perspective mind blowing!!!! Awesome book and I feel best one so far!!! This series keeps getting better!!! Woot!!!
The crew is back and this time it’s serious. Fun takes a back seat to danger. Dog- Eared Delinquent steps away from the humor, but keeps the ability to be unique. Octo – cat and his crime fighting human, come face to face with evil. The victor is anyone’s guess, but my money’s on the misfit squad. Unpredictable is Fitz’s greatest asset and she proves herself worthy of the title.
