A woman, her dog, and a devilish curse. What more could a girl want?Absolutely nothing stands between a woman and her beloved dog… not even the malevolent force of a voodoo curse.Kendell Summer, lead guitarist for Polly Urethane and the Strippers, has always been interested in the unexplained. So when she sets off on a paranormal research romp with Myles, a former classmate, to explore his skills … explore his skills in psychometry, she’s ready for a little adventure. But she gets more than she bargained for when her Lhasa apso, Cheesecake, is dognapped. Kendell will do whatever it takes to get her dog back.
While rescuing the pup, Kendell and Myles learn that the touristy glitz of New Orleans’ voodoo shops hides a dark history few understand—a truth that some in the city plan to use for their own gain.
Soon they uncover more than they ever wanted to know about New Orleans’ unsavory past and a curse that threatens to change everything. Only Kendell can prevent the evil they’ve uncovered from doing more damage, but she’ll need Myles’s support and psychometric abilities—and the vigilance of the ever-watchful Cheesecake.

Love this author. I can’t stop reading this series.
This was my first G.A. Chase book but I realized as I read more about the author that I have read several books by his wife Deana Chase. Kendall and Myles take you on a fun trip around New Orleans trying to solve the Malveaux Curse. They met as students but soon learn they have a connection that neither can quite put a name to. Throw in Kendall’s dog name Cheescake and you have an adventure waiting to happen.
Dog Days of Voodoo is a fun, easy read. The mystery takes you through history to learn about the curse. Recommend if you are looking for a light read.
I had a blast reading this book! In fact, I read it again right after. Very informative and detailed with dynamic and relatable characters. I can’t wait to read more!
I expected this to have more to do with dogs. Or more about voodoo. But both of those seemed like back stories. I felt like I was reading a bunch of short stories. I cannot say it was bad, but not a favorite.
This was a good book for light reading and comedy.
C. Really enjoy it so much so I bought others by the author and am now enjoying those
Enjoyable read but a bit worddy
great read for everyone
Cute
Fun Read
Really liked this book, great settings and cute .
Great read
The basis for this book is the whether or not bad energy (a curse) can be attached to an inanimate object. Can a person have the ability and be sensitive enough to re-live the moments when someone was exposed to that object even though it happened a long time ago. Kendall and Myles romp through this mystery to prove the theory after Kendall’s dog Cheesecake swallows a supposedly cursed object and is then kidnapped. Fun way to spend a few hours with this light read.
It was a page turner, kept me interested, but left me dangling at the end, clearly for the next story which I didn’t have and probably won’t buy. Felt like I was played.
Set in New Orleans, great story line. Interesting characters. Mystery and suspense. And there was a dog! Loved it!!
Only read 1/3 of it.
Good read. I like that the characters had to dig in the past to find answers.
Outstanding, humorous thoroughly engaging!
Bit of disappointment. Unrealistic characters although the premise of the story is original.
Good plot and great characters
