This book happily brought me around to The Shining, but is a great standalone read. The concept of the Steam and the people who feed off it is outstanding.
I came upon this recently, somehow unaware that a sequel to The Shining existed. I loved it. It reads well on its own but refers to characters and events in its predecessor without failing to build its own structure. Danny is a likeable and complex character who leads us through life’s struggles and pain with gusto. It will not disappoint King fans
Predictable as a sequel to The Shining but extremely entertaining non the less.
If you haven’t read this follow-up to “The Shining ” now is the time! Don’t wait for the movie, the book is ALWAYS better…
Great, exciting sequel to The Shining!!!
My favorite Stephen King book was always The Shining. Revisiting Danny Torrance, all grown-up, was brilliant. LOVE this book.

This was one of King’s best and traditional good against evil battle.
Not exactly what I thought the sequel to The Shining would be about but it was great to come across the character of Danny again and what he was up to as a grown up.
THIS WAS NOT A GREAT SEQUEL TO THE SHINING.
