Some days things just click. Today is not that day.
Love is a battlefield, and divorce attorney Sadie Howard is entrenched on the frontlines. She thought she might have met the right man once, but he was a career military guy who got shipped overseas and left her heart on the tarmac. These days, the only commitment Sadie wants is the one she’s made to her Denver law practice.
Combat photographer … photographer Roman Dvornakov is back. Fresh out of the U.S. Army, he’s using family connections to snap photos at a few weddings while he builds his civilian photography practice. After all he’s captured on film, a few posed wedding shots should be a cakewalk. Seeing so much death through the camera lens, he’s now ready to build something worth living for. A thriving photography business, definitely. But he’s certain his new mission also includes Sadie, the girl who slipped away.
Sadie isn’t convinced, and she’s not willing to open her heart anytime soon. Besides, she’s got a high-profile divorce case taking up all her attention. Winning the case for her client will make or break her practice. So what if it’s a custody dispute over a ridiculously expensive fish tank? When Roman discovers the soon-to-be divorced couple are still in love, he and his slightly-nutty grandmother, Babushka, are determined to convince them to cancel the proceedings. He’s not camera shy when it comes to matters of the heart, but interfering with Sadie’s clients could wreck her career and any chance they’ll ever have together…

This is hilarious and chaos all wrapped up in one little babushka, who knows what is meant to be. I can honestly say I have never read a character so full of color as babushka, she throws the lives of both Roman and Sadie in to complete disarray. Great developed storyline and supporting characters are established and well written to give so much more depth to this story. I cannot wait to read the next in this series, since you get a little snippet at the ending.

Each couple is better than the last!
OMG – I adored Roman and Sadie. Sadie has been hurt in the past and she is now focused on her career. Unfortunately for Roman – he was the first guy to break her heart, so she is especially gun shy around him and his determination to rekindle their romance.
Roman realizes that he made a HUGE mistake turning away from what Sadie had to offer ten years ago. So he is even more determined to win her back. His methods might be a bit questionable and it’s debatable if they help him in the short term, but in the long term…Babushka always knows best!
This book is hilarious, sweet, romantic, a little bit ridiculous and loads of fun. This has been a great series and this may be the best one yet!

Really good
Although this book was delightful, I think it would have been better if I’d already read the preceding books in the series. Babushka was something else and is back helping another grandson. It’s Roman’s turn now, and he’s matched to Sadie, a “take no prisoners” type woman. Great characters and story brought to life by Ms. Hovland’s talented writing.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I love Christina Hovland ‘s stories. They never fail to make me laugh. Right now we could all use a good laugh and Roman and Sadie’s story did not disappoint!
Roman and Sadie has a fling many years ago, and Sadie hoped for more. Roman was young and free. He didn’t know what he wanted out of life. Work came first. Now, 10 years have passed and Roman and Sadie are in the same place once again. Roman has seen the error of his ways and wants Sadie back. He enlists the help of his hilarious Babushka and all the craziness ensues!
I LOVE THIS SERIES! Love it! I love Babushka and everyone in this entire family. I laughed so hard and enjoyed every moment of this book.
Heart over mind matters in this second chance
Do Me A Favor: A Second Chance, Hilarious Rom Com! (Mile High Matched Book 4) by Christina Hovland is a well written romance that will bring a smile and a chuckle for your reading entertainment. The dialogue is witty, the banter flirty and the Babushka meddlesome in hilariously, lovingly ways.
Sadie and Roman have a connection that lasted more than a decade apart. While Sadie learned some hard lessons and hardened her heart, Roman learned a few lessons too that prompts him to enlist his Babushka and refusal to give up.
Overall, this second chance romance is a fun, entertaining read that put the reader through some emotional drama as Sadie softens while Roman gently and lovingly persists. These two get their HEA as they negotiate just how and what that happiness entails no matter what Babushka expectations are demanding.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
When you finish a book and then notice it’s 3am you know it was a great book. Characters you couldn’t help rooting for and a wonderful storyline. You feel all the highs and lows and can’t wait for the next page. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Good and tender romance
3.5
Good story but with a very slow progression which although I understood it, annoyed me a bit with the characters’s doubts and hesitations. There are some notes of humor thanks to the grandmother who inserts herself and harasses Roman and Sadie so that they go out together.
Sadie was seduced by Roman, who was a photographer for the army, when she was going to begin her studies to become an attorney. When he leaves, she is destroyed, and 10 years later, she has lost her vision of a happy representation of relationships by becoming a divorce lawyer. Roman wants to win her back and will do everything to make her understand that he wants her and seduce her.
Christina Hovland’s Mile High Matched series is one of my favorites and I was excited to dive into Roman and Sadie’s story. Especially when she shared that we’d be getting more of Babushka, Roman’s grandmother. She is always hilarious and meddles in the romance of the main characters.
In Do Me A Favor, Sadie and Roman shared one weekend together 10 years ago. She developed feelings and offered to wait til he returned from his military mission but he said no. Now, they have both returned to Denver and Roman is not going to let his second chance with Sadie go by. I really liked both Sadie and Roman. They felt like real people with realistic issues.
As always the writing is fantastic, the characters are relatable, and the laughs are plentiful. If you have read the other books in the series, there are also appearances by some of those characters as well. I cannot wait to see whose story will be next.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
This couple are just so good. Sadie a lawyer and Roman, a war photojournalist and now wedding photographer have history 10 years ago, till he comes back to town, wanting to pick up where he left off. I really love these characters not just Roman and Sadie, but Eli and Marker and especially Babushka, who’s a law into herself. I love their quirks, snappy comebacks, their insecurities and the drama they bring with them. I had many a laugh out loud moment in this book. I’m a lover of words and Christina is a true master of them, pulling the reader in and taking them on a trip. Such a great world to visit with wonderful characters, and situations, and the dynamic between couples just so enjoyable.
This was an ARC and this is my honest review for this fantastic book!
3.5 Stars
The story was good and had a fairly smooth flow. The character work was great. Babushka being my favorite. I look forward to more from this author.

A hard-won second chance for a wedding photographer and a divorce attorney. Sadie and Roman had a weekend together before he was deployed, they both had feelings but he told her not to wait for him or even tried a long-distance relationship.
Now the time has passed and their back in their hometown, he wants her and regrets his decision but she’s toughened up and doesn’t believe in love anymore.
A fun rom-com with great characters and a Babushka that’s a riot.

I love Roman, Sadie and Babushka.
Roman and Sadie had a fling 10 years ago, she was willing to wait for him but he said do not.
Now he is back after a close call and he wants a second chance but she wants to focus on getting her career as a lawyer off the ground. Roman asks for Babushka’s help.
So funny and the sparks are hot.
Will Roman get his second chance.
I want Babushka in my family.
I don’t read a lot of rom-coms but I always read Christina Hovlands books. I love them and Do Me a Favor is no different. It’s a fun, and entertaining story. I love how Roman didn’t give up and went to all kinds of crazy lengths to get Sadie. I understand Sadie’s hesitation and I enjoyed reading how she overcame it. Of course can’t forget a super funny meddling grandma to keep you laughing out loud though out the whole story. I enjoyed getting little snippets of past characters but it can easily be read as a standalone without detracting from the story.

I have been loving this series. It has humor, heart and a grandmother who loves to butt in and help those she loves. This isn’t just any grandmother…not the one who is all buttoned up and thinks everything has to be perfect and in place…Nope, this one has her picture where the definition is for One of a Kind on Google.
Her name is Babushka and she is the boss lady of the Dvornakov family. Now one would think a nice elderly woman would be ready to sit, retire and let her children live their lives. If that is your thought, you have another thing coming and this entire series has been a major delight because of this woman. In Do Me a Favor (Mile High Matched, #4) she is one smart cookie and we benefit from it.
Roman Dvornakov is back home. He had been a photographer traveling with the armed service all of the world in the most dangerous situations. He had many close calls and now was ready to start the next chapter of his life as a bridal photographer. Yet his next chapter had his focus on someone from his past.
Sadie Howard
Yes, Sadie was an early chapter in his life story and he intended to have another chance with the woman who haunted him all these years. You see, these two had a weekend together that became much more than hooking up. It had all the elements for two people to see where it would go and Roman made the serious mistake of not allowing any idea of it going somewhere; he nipped it in the bud, no long distance, no trying, nothing.
That experience left Sadie Howard with a sour taste in her mouth and heart. She then had another crappy experience when another guy and the dye was cast…
Men Sucked. Period.
She became a very successful divorce attorney and came back to her home town to open up her own practice. She had years of dedicated focus in a practice that had a bulletproof/no women allowed-glass ceiling. She had worked, excelled and provided winning results for her clients yet the practice was never going to allow her to make partner. Finally, enough was enough and she was starting all over again at home.
These two cross paths at Sadie’s brother’s wedding. The chemistry is still there, especially with Roman. He really wants to see where this could go…but by being a divorce lawyer for so many years, Sadie has a wall so high, Roman may not be able to climb it.
Roman begins to doubt his ability and enlists Babushka. Asking her to help is like that saying…Be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. Asking the force of Babushka to assist you in your love life has ramifications.
This was a delight. It had all the elements Hovland fans love. Quirky stuff, sexy stuff, heartful stuff and lots of warmth. This couple was equally matched. Oh, and Roman was EVERYTHING. I would love a man like him Big Time.
With the way the world is going, this series is a perfect place to spend some time.

4.4 stars
One of my favorite things about this series is the author’s ability of creating characters that are multi-dimensional, a tad crazy/neurotic, and genuine. It doesn’t matter if it is a male or a female character either. This book was no exception to the real, Sadie is definitely a tad set in her ways while Roman is more than a little crazy considering Babushka is a constant in his life. That grandma is a definite trouble maker in the best of ways.
There were appearances from several of the other characters in this quirky, zany and fun romance. I didn’t connect with Roman and Sadie as much as some of the other characters but it still was fun to see their story evolve. I cannot recommend this series of standalones or this author enough.
Christina Hovland is such a great romantic comedy author! Do Me a Favor is another great read in the Mile High Matched series. There were some laugh out loud moments, but they were balanced with the sweet, tender moments. Roman and Sadie are well developed, believable and so likeable. Babushka is awesome as always. I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
LOVED THIS BOOK!
I have loved all the other books in this series and this one was fantastic!
Babushka’s back! But this time, someone actually asks for her help. Who would do that? A desperately in love Roman, who btw is completely swoon worthy! I loved that he admitted to screwing up. And asking is he could touch Sadie *sigh*!
I really liked Sadie and I could understand her thought process after basically being left behind or getting screwed over.
The sizzle between Sadie and Roman was perfect. Man I love the crazy Dvornakovs!

Roman and Sadie had a connection until he severed it by going into the military and she off to law school. Fast forward ten years and they have reconnected but Sadie won’t go for a do over. Roman has realized his mistake and when he tries to get a couple that are still in love with each other where one is a client of Sadie’s, only makes his task of getting back with her even harder not to mention interfering grandmothers! This story draws you in and have you in Sadie and Roman’s corner cheering them on to a second chance for love. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Roman and Sadie were meant to be together or that what Roman thought after considering the matter for 10 years. This second chance romance is about finding your way back to love with a little luck, a little patience and the assistance of a his meddling grandmother Babushka that has made her appearance in previous books in this series. This was an enjoyable read that started off hot then turn into a slow burn.
I am a big fan of Christina Hovland books but what kept this one from getting 5 stars is you had to go get the bonus epilogue from her newsletter. I like to reread my favorite books and when authors to this it causes extra work trying to store and retrieve the separate bonus epilogue. If readers enjoy the authors work they were subscribe to their newsletter anyway.

I adore Babushka! The woman’s battier than a belfry, but I love the stuffing out of her. This book takes some of my very favorite things and puts them all together between two covers. Second chance romance? Check. (Former) military hero? Check. Sweet, small-town vibe? Also check. Then to go ahead and make me laugh my behind off as well? Author, I am putty in your hands. I loved watching the chemistry between Sadie and Roman in action, because whether they were fighting it or giving in to it, it was obviously undeniable. I have no idea who’s going to make the next match, all I know for certain is that I can’t wait until I get to come back for the chance to do this all over again.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
