Alone, isolated from the vast resources of Guardian, Dixon Simmons reentered a world that had left him impossibly damaged as a child. He stepped back into that evil by choice. To protect all he’d come to love, he was willing to pay whatever price was demanded—even if the price was his soul. She went by many names. Her true identity was as dead as her heart. Until him. The man was every bit as … bit as lethal as she was and deliciously sexy. Dixon Simmons piqued her interest, and what started as lust turned into another “L” word. She gave a “forever after” with him no hope. They’d have to stay alive for that to happen.
Caught in a violent abyss of ultimate malevolence and ominous threats, two damned souls find in each other a redemptive love that defies reason. However, redemption comes at a high cost. They must first save the world from a merciless force known only as Stratus.

Absolutely love love love this series!
Wow! There are lots of things at play here in Dixon. Don’t blink or you will miss something. The maze of intrigue is phenomenal. It’s hard to keep track of who the players are because you don’t have a detailed scorecard. But, it’s oh so very worth the time to read. I loved the inane verbal banter between the Wonder twins, Dixon and Drake, that was sprinkled throughout the Kings series. I freely admit that I laughed out loud at almost every one of their exchanges. I really missed their verbal sparring in Drake but they are back in Dixon and I was so happy.
All of Dixon’s experiences have brought him to this point and his deep undercover assignment. He is prepared to deal with the devil who is also known as his father, what he wasn’t prepared for is one diminutive, hell-on-wheels woman who, quite literally, sweeps him off his feet. Joy was enthralling me from the outset and her take no prisoners attitude reminded me so much of Jade. Can’t go wrong there! Together they are so dynamic that the bad guys never stand a chance.
Dixon’s story was everything I expected and more.
We met the Wonder Twins (Drake and Dixon) in the very first installment of the Kings of Guardian and they have become a constant and essential part of this family of heroes. We love their brand of alpha, their snarky brotherly banter, their sense of humor and their loyalty, this series certainly wouldn’t be the same without them.
But it really isn’t until Book 11 (Drake) and Dixon (Book 12) that we get a chance to have some real insight into who these brothers are and where they come from…what they endured to become the men they are today.
Separated from his brother and the support of his organization, Dixon is thrust back into the world he narrowly escaped, to complete what seems to be an impossible mission. Unbeknownst to him, he’s not as alone as he thinks, and a little coloring outside the lines, helps to produce results no one was convinced was possible.
As I closed the cover on this installment of the series, it’s almost bittersweet, the author is on the precipice of something big. Guardian will continue the fight, but with growth and inevitable change. I feel like a part of this family, it’s impossible not to, each and every one of these characters are human and believable.
I can’t wait for more. As long as Kris Michaels wants to write stories about these characters, I will keep reading them. If you haven’t started, I highly recommend you do!
YAY! Another King of Guardian!!! this series is my favorite series of all time and an automatic 1- click for me. Dixon, I had been waiting for his story and WOW I freaking loved it.
Kings of Guardian series is one of my absolute favourites and Dixon was a book I had been looking forward to. Well can I say Kris Michaels did not disappoint, she pulled out all the stops for this book and held me hostage to the pages of this story. Dixon’s book is filled with secrets, angst and suspense. This story is not just about one member of Guardian but a progression for the entire operation. It will have your mind working overtime, your heart captivated and at times will leave you breathless. This 12th book in the series will embed itself so deeply under your skin that even as you digest the last word it will still have you thinking overtime on what has been and what is yet to come. Dixon’s story had me riding a roller coaster of emotions and an epilogue that had me in tears. This book is way too good for five stars, it is nothing short of a ten star read.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting Dixon’s release since I read Drake late last year, and man, Kris Michaels didn’t disappoint.
I don’t know what I was expecting, but Dixon surpassed all expectations. From the first word to the last he took me along his emotional journey, and what a ride it was.
Dixon is truly action packed with so many twists and turns, you’re not sure who the bad guy is. It’s quite possibly the best book in the whole Guardian series… and that’s saying something, because this series is amazing.
I’m now anxiously awaiting the next Guardian
This series is absolutely one of my favourites
Dixon is one of the double Ds and gets pulled to work a mission without his twin brother. He knows he’s going back to his sperm donor and is as mentally prepared as he can be to be in the presence of pure evil. However, the mission doesn’t go according to plan and on his first eradication, he’s unprepared for the woman assassin claiming the kill he was supposed to make. But when their fight turns into more, they both become each other’s sanity in a world of crazy
I loved this couple and that Kris made it a longer length story, to answer almost all questions that I had. Although that last secret that wasn’t revealed will certainly keep me up at night pondering all the possibilities until the next story reveals more
Deliciously dirty, super sexy, totally twisted and my ongoing guilty pleasure. I really love the Double D’s; but Dixon (or Dick-son per “Joy” (LOL)) just tugs my heart strings.. I love, love, love this series and this book met/exceeded the quality of the previous books. I couldn’t wait to turn each page of this outstanding story. HOT HOT HOT.. If you’ve read the series, you’ll adore this addition and if you haven’t… Well why NOT??!! My only “complaint”; nothing more was said about the half brother (little Simmons). It just didn’t “mesh” with the Double D’s that they didn’t grab the boy and his momma and drag them home with them.. As far as “complaints “ go; meh, no big deal.
Dixon is the twelfth book in the Kings of Guardian’s series and one of my favorites.
Dixon was on a mission that was not only extremely important, but it was one that would force him to come face to face with his past. It was made harder because he was alone and didn’t have his twin brother Drake as backup.
Joy was hardcore. I don’t want to give too much away about her character, but she was great and I liked her instantly.
There were some twists in this story, some action and also some intense moments. There were still some unanswered questions at the end, and it looks like there will be a spinoff series with a new group of Guardian lead characters. Stratus is still out there and needs to be stopped. There’s also that last chapter that left me a little worried.
Overall, I loved both Dixon and Joy. They each had inner dialogues that were quite funny, and I loved all the interactions they shared. There were several times I laughed out loud and I smiled often while reading this book. From the moment Dixon and Joy met, they just fit together and seemed perfect. I wanted both Dixon and Drake to end up happy, and was glad that’s what happened.
Mrs. Michaels has done it again! Another awesome book that will make you cry , laugh and make you angry at times. But shows that with the right support you are able to get through anything. Thanks Kris again for the Guardian family.
