Good girls go to Heaven. Bad girls go all the way…
What can be worse than electrocuting yourself while getting ready for your Internet date? Realizing the hot stud you’ve been fondling is the Grim Reaper? Being chased by a sex-crazed bloated, naked corpse?
How about an eternity of more bad hair days and horrific dates? Or lusting after the one guy in all the afterlife whose hydrophobia … whose hydrophobia rivals his fear of commitment?
Yeah, that’s a whole lot worse.

Somewhere between soft porn and the hard-core stuff, this book was too raunchy. The main character (we are supposed to believe) is trying to work her way out of purgatory into heaven, but she can’t keep her smart mouth shut for two minutes, and she can’t think of ANYTHING but sex. Work your way to heaven that way? I don’t think so. Just not believable.
What wonderful paranormal read! If you’ve ever wondered about the after life levels of heaven and hell……well this is one intriguing book with a little sexy added to it to make it fun!
Once I got past the idea of purgatory and different floors of it, I kind of enjoyed the strange characters. Looking forward to checking out the next in the series.
Couldn’t even finish it.
SEXY, SASSY, & SO DARN CUTE !!!
Title: Divine and Dateless
Series: Eternally Yours
Author: Tara West
Designation: Book One of Series, Full Length Novel, Can Be Read as Standalone
Reading Platform: Kindle Edition
My Rating: FIVE DIVINELY ENTERTAINING STARS*****
Heaven can’t wait and neither can I…. to read more by Tara West! OH MY GLORY! What a divinely entertaining read! Divine and Dateless is the first release in the Eternally Yours Series by Tara West and it totally rocked my world! I loved it! This is my first time reading Tara West but I can say with utmost certainty, it won’t be my last! West’s unique style, vivid imagination and highly addictive prose hooked me right out of the gate. By the time I hit page three, I knew I’d struck gold with the Eternally Yours Series. I immediately raced back to see if there were other books in the series. And JACKPOT – I discovered three more books! And the icing on the cake…. I bought them all! SWEET!
But I digress, let’s talk about this book. Divine and Dateless is a well crafted, well edited, wonderfully imaginative, fast paced, full-length standalone supernatural tale filled to the brim with spellbinding fantasy, laugh-out-loud humor, outrageously hilarious characters, a wonderfully unique story arc and sweet, heavenly romance. No really – the romance takes place in heaven, or at least the part that doesn’t happen in purgatory! What? Oh yes, this is quite the heavenly/hell read! And did I mention the steamy, dreamy sex??? Well, it has that as well! The story is exciting, original and brilliantly imaginative. The dialogue is smart, sassy, uproariously funny, well executed and flows effortlessly. But my favorite element is, without a doubt, the remarkable cast of fascinating, engaging and fabulously funny characters. They literally explode from the pages and capture your heart. The narrative is beautifully written with a first person perspective from our divinely beautiful heroine, paralegal Ashley MacLeod. Well, former paralegal since Ash is now deceased and newest member of the Supernatural Intervention Agency’s Delta Squadron. Huh? What the heck? Yup, as a result of an unfortunate blow dryer accident, Ash is now one of the dearly departed and a newbie gifted ghoster in training! But it’s a long story and definitely one you want to read, especially the part about Aedan O’Connor, the handsome, hunky Grim Reaper assigned to escort Ash to her brand new heavenly home. You would think if Ash is rewarded with a trip to heaven, then everything will be perfect, right? Wrong! It seems there are screw-ups even inside the Pearly Gates and someone just made a biggie. Oops! Looks like Ash won’t be staying in the Penthouse after all and she certainly won’t be having the perfect afterlife as her Grim promised. What’s a girl to do? Well, she could start by falling in love with her Grim! Oh my! No spoilers from me but I will say this…..Beautiful, snarky heroine-check! Devilishly handsome hero-check! Ghosties, Ghouls, Grims and demons-check! A little delicious danger and drama-check! A boatload of hilarious humor-check! An outrageous cast of delightful characters and a loyal pet dog named Jack-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance and heavenly sex-you bet! That and a whole lot more! Deliciously cute and divinely entertaining!
When rating and reviewing a book, I always ask myself several questions. First, what did I love about this story? Pretty much everything! I adore anything paranormal or supernatural and love stories with comedy and romance but when I find a book that has it all, I’m in heaven! Sorry, I just couldn’t resist the pun. Although this book contained 274 pages of ooey-gooey heavenly goodness, it was a quick, easy to follow read. Once I started reading, I simply could not stop. I was glued to my Kindle with the hours passing seemingly as minutes. I loved it! Second, was there anything I didn’t like? And truthfully, not a darn thing! Third, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some exquisitely written sex scenes…..Swoon! Fourth, will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Good gracious, yes! Totally and completely entertained! So much so that I purchased the entire series! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
This book was so different from what I expected. It was so much fun to read!
I quite like a touch of the supernatural when it’s done nicely. This series is quite nice, so I’m a happy gal…
This book is a light-hearted spoof on life after death. Funny characters with real-life problems, even after death. Perfect for a lazy afternoon or the beach. Beware though- for those who are a bit uptight- plenty of sexy talk and deeds.
Different concept fun characters. Will read the next book.
This may be a really good book for many readers, but I am sadly not one of them. The book was WAY TOO STEAMY for me, and the thoughts about heaven and purgatory were outside the realms of something I could deal with.
Short review. Strange but enjoyable read about the afterlife, one of things I liked was that it didn’t begin with telling the reader about Ash’s life then death but started with her life with a some information about her life. While I did enjoy the book I found it frustrating that no one explain how Purgatory or what rules are to Ash until after she would get in trouble, it felt like she was being set up to fail. Another thing that I hope either gets explain or tone down some was Ash being ruled by her sexual drive I mean it’s okay to meant it every once in awhile but not every time she comes across a guy that she is sexually attracted to.
