One house. Two owners. Paige Miller has inherited a house in the small town of Johnson City, Texas. She’s elated to be back and has already started making plans to remodel the one-hundred-year-old home exactly how she remembered it as a little girl. There’s only one problem.Lucas. Paige.
Seeing Paige standing in the doorway of his grandfather’s old home instantly brought back the feelings he once had for her. The dream of one day marrying her and raising a family in this very house.
Neither is willing to budge on what they want, and soon they find themselves living together in the old home.
The house uncovers many old and hidden secrets, and Paige quickly discovers that it wasn’t a mistake they both inherited the house. It was fate.

Lucas and paige, swoonworth, hot, funny, serious, to name but a few things about them.
I giggled along with them, sighed with them and cried with them But absolutely loved their story.
They were high school sweethearts, who both then moved on from each other (unwillingly!) they had been apart for 10 years, and were brought back together by the sad loss of their meddling grandfather William, he was a bit of a prankster, or so it seemed, but he was a true romantic at heart.
I loved Lucas and Paige’s reunion it was funny watching them both try to get one over on the other.
Oreo, the mysterious cat was a cutie, all knowing little son of a gun….
I loved how they fell back in with their long standing friends, although they’d been all living seperate lives.
Its a harsh reality that the death of a very much loved member of the family can have some detrimental affect on everyone.
And what a web did William weave, WOW I loved the thrilling nature, the tears and laughter that his antis brought to the story.
There never was a time when I did not think that Paige & Lucas were going to make it. They were very well suited. I loved their version of taking it slow…. teehee
Another great page turning, gripping story by Kelly Eliott, and I can’t wait to read the next installment inthe Southern Brides series.
I really loved this story! I’ve loved every book in this series. I like how each book is a set of different characters that we’ve never met! Though sometimes I really want the secondary characters to get a story!!
This story will have you shaking your head and wanting to yell at the characters. But you feel the emotion in the story. It’s like you’re living their story with them.
I loved the twist in this book. I didn’t see it coming. That’s always a bonus when I can’t predict what’s going to happen!!!
I loved Lucas and Paige! They definitely will have you swooning and laughing!!
I love Kelly’s small-town romances with a bonus second chance. Of course, she didn’t disappoint. Lucus and Paige, childhood friends brought together to figure out a mystery. Great read. I couldn’t put it down and read it in less than a day.
Second chances and first loves. Another absolutely fantastic book by this talented author. There were many emotional ups and downs, but every single one was worth the outcome. I had a blast following Paige and Lucas on their quest to get the answers William left for them and the twists were amazing!
It is all fair in love and war when Lucas’ grandfather leaves his estate equally to Lucas and Paige, the one girl he let slip through his fingers when he walked away from her after high school. Now left to work things out the true reasons behind the break up come to live. Is his grandfather working from the grave to get these two to reunite? Will they uncover more than just the reasons to stay together? With adorable characters and a storyline I could not put down once again Kelly Elliott does not disappoint!!
I absolutely LOVED Divided Interests, the third book the Southern Bride series, by Kelly Elliott! I could not put it down. Kelly Elliott has once again proven that she is an incredible story teller. I love that she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Divided Interests is filled with promises broken and renewed and secrets shared and discovered. I love the lighter moments where I found myself laughing. My favorite moments are the ones that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Divided Interests is filled with such moments. Divided Interests is about high school sweethearts, Paige Miller and Lucas Foster. Lucas broke up with Paige their senior year of high school, when Paige’s dreams for her future did not align with Lucas’s dreams for their future. Paige and Lucas both return to Johnston City following the death and funeral of Lucas’s grandfather, William. In his will, William bequeathed half of his house to Paige and the other half to Lucas. Tempers flare when the first see each other for the first time in over ten years. Lucas offers to purchase Paige’s half of the house, but she is not willing to sell it. She has always love William’s house, where she and Lucas had shared the dream of marrying and raising their children. As Paige and Lucas begin to renovate the house, they both realize that they each still had feelings for the other and decided to take it slow. Once again Kelly Elliott writes about strong, beautiful women and hot, sexy men, I love all her characters. Who doesn’t love reading about lovers that are given a second chance at love. Divided Interests is filled with bittersweet and poignant moments and the surprise plot twists. Divided Interests is a wonderfully written story and I loved every moment. Highly recommend this beautiful. I truly loved the epilogue and how the story ended. Divided Interests is my favorite story in the series!
I loved this book so much! If you love second chance romances. This one should top the list! I loved that it even had a mystery to it too! As usual Kelly Elliott delivers another wonderful book! I could not put it down!
Kelly honestly is an author I know that no matter what the book is, I am going to absolutely fall in love with it from the very first page.
This book as fun. I loved the main characters as much as they drove mea little nuts. I love when books do that though. Sometimes its fun not to be completely in love with the main characters and Kelly did it in a way that left you just frustrated enough with them to fight for them.
This is a second chance read that left me super excited. I LOVE when pasts come into play and these two, they have a past for sure.
You are rooting for these two from the very start. If they would just communicate and forgive the pat, things would go a lot easier, but that would make for a far less fun read. The two though, they are combustable and it is only a matter of time.
if you want a read to fall in love with without a ton of absolutely craziness, then dive into this one, you will really enjoy it.
Paige Miller left her hometown to attend college and see the world. Lucas Foster the love of her life
wants her to stay in Texas and attend college with him. Lucas makes her choose him or her dreams.
Paige has a mind of her own and chooses to go to a University in Arkansas. Paige travels the world
and follows her dreams. When realization makes her rethink what she wants out of life. Her move
back to Texas changes her. With the inheritance of half of the house she has always loved and finding
out that the other half is owned by Lucas. The feelings this emotes are heartfelt and start the journey
for both Lucas and Paige to try to find their way back together. Kelly Elliott brings to the forefront what it means to go back to your roots. The fact that they are both alphas but lets you in on Lucas who has always loved Paige makes him the second chance love every girl would want to have. The story is a sweet romantic. Maybe love is lovelier the second time around.
Kelly Elliott never fails to write a book that I can completely lose myself in.
Divided Interests is no different I loved every second on Paige and Lucas’ story.
Paige and Lucas were in love once but different paths in life caused them to part. Now years later and both are left half of a house forcing them back into each others lives. As they work through their differences and secrets are revealed will this be their second chance at love?
Once again another fantastic story in the Southern Brides series that I highly recommend.
(Each book in this series can be read as a standalone)
The Southern Brides series by Kelly Elliott just gets better with each book, Divided Interests shows us how wicked and naughty Kelly’s imagination can get. These two together are still so in love no matter how much they deny it the chemistry just pops in each chapter. This was more than them seeing their love is still there but a treasure hunt of questions unanswered. Grandpa Will is one funny matchmaker and seeing Lucas loose his shit when it comes to others wanting his Paige was hilarious. Seeing Paige determined to getting her dreams of the house come alive was beautiful. Now Lucas and seeing him really seeing Paige’s beauty, encouraging and praising her in his own way was well just made me cry how romantic he is. This is more about a house divided but two people finally seeing how right they are truly for each other. This is a boom you don’t want to pass full of beauty, second chance, a cat that will make you go aww and most of all a romance coming full circle.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
This reader is a big ole’ sap for a second chance romance and no one does romance better than author Kelly Elliott!!!
Divided Interests is the third book in the authors Southern Bride series and be still my heart it was amazing. (as are ALL the books in this series…HINT-go check them out) This book gives all the feels….love, laughter and a bit of mystery for a definite page turner.
We have the story of Paige and Lucas. To say those two have a long history is an understatement. After years apart and unsettled ill-will towards one another they find themselves reunited in a little twist that leaves both residing under one roof. This little ‘twist’ leaves them an equal owners of a home they both love and share memories. Lucas and Paige will not bend to the others wants and ideas of what should be done with the home. On top of the new living arrangements there is quite the mystery that pulls you further into their story. Toss in a whole lot of stubbornness, an unsettled past, hilarious banter, angst, mystery and a lot of romance and you have yourself one amazing book.
I loved Paige from the beginning. She was such a strong character. Her strong will and independence were quite refreshing. She would not buckle with her ideas and love for the gift she was given. Lucas was as stubborn as they come. It took awhile for him to redeem himself in this readers eyes but as always the author does not fail to give readers a beautiful story. These two had so much that remained unsettle for many years the road to resolve was not an easy one. We saw first hand how communication is the key to any and all relationships and what the lack thereof can do to a couple. When you add the mystery aspect to this story is was even more intriguing. This author can add such twists into books, give us angst, laughter and tears and with each line it flows like a beautifully written song.
If you love a second chance romance, this book is the one you need. You just cannot go wrong with author Kelly Elliott. Her writing style, the beauty of her stories and characters are just flawless.
Kelly. Kelly Elliott. I am saying that Divided Interests was one of my favorite reads in January. I was smiling and giggling through this one. The romance also had me swooning. The Southern Bride series is just so well written and gives you all the romance feels. I just fall in love with each book that is in this series. It is unavoidable not to love Divided Interest.
This was one of the best storylines that I have read! It was seriously a genius plan. The two characters are practically made to live together by one of the grandfather’s character. So there we have Paige and Lucas who once loved each other and then hate each other after some years who are now stuck living together. They both want that house and they will not give up until one of them leaves.
This makes it so hilarious with the ways they try to take the other one out. I totally know they both still love each other so being in this house is like WOAH. They are seeing each other all the time. It is pure brilliance that Kelly gave us. This is one of my favorite books. Definitely my favorite of the series.
Kelly Elliott does it again! I am so in love with Divided Interests! Lucas and Paige’s story was everything! I am a huge sucker for Second Chance Romances and no one does it Kelly! I loved watching Lucas and Paige find their way back together and the twist was EPIC!!! HUGE FIVE STARS!!
KELLY’S BOOKS JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER! Just when I think that Kelly can’t top her last book, she does and I can never get enough! Lucas and Paige were childhood best friends turned boyfriend/girlfriend that sadly comes to a screeching halt right before college. After over a decade apart, they finally reconnect thanks to the death of Lucas’ grandfather. Leaving his home to both of them sparks the domino effect of this couple finally getting back together and having a second chance at their relationship once some road bumps are eliminated. One aspect of Kelly’s books that I love and continue to feel take them to the next level is the addition of suspense and mystery within her romance storylines. This one in particular was pretty dang good with the mystery of both Lucas and Paige’s families and their pasts. In the end, this couple gets their second chance and doesn’t waste a second of it, and it was probably one of the best stories I’ve read in quite some time bringing something different and unique to a standard storyline. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
The blurb to Divided Interests instantly caught my attention. The idea of the hero and heroine attempting to share a home when they haven’t seen each other for over a decade, have differing thoughts on what to do with the house, as well as have unfinished business from over a decade ago all factor in to the angst and the heighten emotions that seem to stifle the scenes when Paige Miller and Lucas Foster are in the same room as well as offer quite a bit of comic relief given the way these two banter and push each other’s buttons.
Lucas is a hero who will grow on readers; he won’t be everyone’s favorite because of his actions in the past and his inability, early on, to admit that he was the one in the wrong and that his choices didn’t only affect him, but those closest to him, one of them being Paige. By the time readers get to the final pages of the story, they will see just how much Lucas has changed and just how much he wants his world to include Paige each and every day.
I adored Paige from the start. There’s a resilience inside of her that keeps pushing her forward regardless of the obstacles. She won’t be bullied by Lucas and even though being around him brings up heart aching memories, she refuses to give in to what Lucas wants when it comes to the house they both have a stake in and to watch the push and pull between these two from their very first exchange proves quite well that they shouldn’t allow this second chance to pass them by, not without fighting for what they’ve always wanted, even while apart, each other.
Like always, Elliott ensures that the secondary characters play a pivotal role in the story line and in the hero and heroine’s words and actions. Their family and friends add such a great dynamic to the book and provide Lucas and Paige with the support as well as the tough love, for lack of a better term, that they use to get these two stubborn people to realize that they’re so much better working as a team than working against one another.
Lucas and Paige’s story is the perfect combination of Kelly Elliott’s emotional and captivating storytelling and all of the qualities of a second chance romance that I love. And the fact that fate intervened and gave Paige and Lucas the push that they both needed illustrates that a house divided doesn’t have to remain that way, especially when it’s clear that they were destined to find their way back to Johnson City, Texas, and each other.
4.5 Poison Apples
Wow! Divided Interests was an amazing story that left me with plenty of laughs and wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed Lucas and Paige’s story and how they came back together to find their forever love. The added history and mystery to the story was perfect and I enjoyed it so much. Divided Interest is a page turner for sure.
5 Stars for Divided Interests book 3 in the Southern Bride Series.
This is Paige Miller and Lucas Foster’s story, this couple have history and at one time their plans were to spend the rest of their life’s together but that wasn’t meant to be. After Lucas’s grandfather left each of them a half share in his house in Johnson City, Texas they have no option but to talk and try and put the past behind them ……but what happens when they realise they still have feelings for each other. Will second time around work out better for them or will the past be to hard to forgive…..
This is a couple that are meant to be together, their chemistry is sizzling, their banter is witty and they once shared a deep friendship. This love story is second chance and small town romance at its best, it ticked all my boxes, I laughed, I signed, I swooned and I giggled as Paige and Lucas got reacquainted with the feelings they have always had for each other. This book is highly recommended for all romance lovers so what are you waiting for get your one click finger working. Looking forward to what this very talented author takes us next in this series of stand-alone’s.
I was so excited to get Paige and Lucas’ story! Paige had been in Lucas’ life for a long time. Until she wasn’t. But that didn’t mean she left his family. While he didn’t see her, she saw the important people in his life. What neither of them expected was splitting a house. Paige had always loved the house. She saw it in a way most people didn’t. She wanted to bring it back to life. I loved the anger and frustration and sexual tension galore between these two! Kelly really brings the emotions out and the reader FEELS everything! I enjoyed the scavenger hunt they are placed in and learning MORE about the history in front of them. I adored this book and didn’t want to put it down! This was a delicious read I couldn’t get enough of. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss this read!
5 Coming Back Home Again Stars!!!
This is another winner from Kelly Elliott!! The minute I read the synopsis for this book I knew it was going to be everything fabulous about how Ms. Elliott tells a story and I devoured every single word!!!
Paige and Lucas broke each other’s hearts when they were younger and never had the intention of being back in their hometown again for anything let alone living there and having to share a house…but sometimes fate is taken out of our hands lands directly in the lap of someone that just knows that these two need to be brought back together again…no matter how devious the plan may be!!
I absolutely loved how they refused to give in to each other’s demands and were dead set on keeping their “half” of the house Lucas’s grandfather left them equal shares in! There were moments of pure anger between them but then the memories of what they used to be creeped back in and what couldn’t be denied any longer was their attraction that not only was still present but had grown stronger over the years and well, you know they finally gave into it!! And holy mackerel it was HAF!!
I adore how these two found their second chance as adults and with understanding of what happened years ago will never happen again. Their mutual love for the home they’re revitalizing and Paige’s dreams of bringing her love for flowers to life was joyous to watch. Finally getting the HEA they always thought would be theirs even if it was delayed a few years!!
