Leanne Davis has a Way with Words and DIVERSIONS was No Exception! This is a Definitely Must Read Book with its Dark and Entertaining secrets but keeps you on your toes! At times I wanted to Throw my Tablet across the room for the characters mindsets of WTF where They Were THINKING! I Could Not Put It in Down and devour it in ONE Sitting since there was So much Different Unique TWISTS and TURNS!
Christine just finished college and is expected to start working at her father’s company, although she is unsure this is what she wants to do. Christine is engaged to Trent, who is her father’s assistant. Trent asks Christine to pick up a file he left at home. While looking for that, she comes across a file and finds out Trent has a brother that she has never heard of. She does not like that Trent and his family can keep secrets like that. She sets out to get Trent and Jason talking. She meets Jason and is drawn to him. She runs out of her engagement party, and Jason sees her and follows her. This is a turning point for them, as he comforts her and seems to understand her angst. Christine decides she needs to figure out what she wants from life and not keep following what everyone else wants and expects of her. She tells Trent she wants to call off the wedding. This gives her time to find herself. She also gets to know Jason more. There are so many twists and turns and tragedies in this. Some of which were hard for me are the ones Christine’s parents were a part of. I really don’t want to give away too much, because I would hate to give away something and ruin the book for you. Great characters, although some could definitely use some empathy and heart. It would be cool to have a follow up book! Leanne Davis once again did not disappoint me.
I think this book had more unsavory characters than any other Leanne Davis book that I’ve read. Christine started out to me as kind of annoying, but I started to like her more as I understood her. Jason was basically hated and spit on by almost everyone he came in contact with. I could see why they made the perfect couple: they were stepped on and abused by practically everyone in their lives. And their insecurities made their chance of a relationship shaky. It ended on a good note, but I wanted to throw my book quite a bit.
Christine Andrews is engaged to Trent Gallagher who works for her father but when she discovers a secret he has been hiding from her, she wonders what else he has been hiding.
Jason Malone’s existence has been hidden by his family and he has been wrongly imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. He is shocked when Christine Andrews asks to meet him as she hopes to find the answers she is looking for.
When Christine meets Jason she can’t deny the chemistry she feels with him but she needs to keep her distance as she is still engaged to Trent. But when Christine she needs to live life for herself and follow her own dreams how much will she stand to lose?
This is such a great book and I am disappointed that it is a stand alone!
I really liked Christine and she had every right to be mad at the stuff Trent was hiding from her. I think I was surprised about how mean Trent was over the situation and how he truly had no cares at all about what happened to his brother.
I really felt bad for Jason as he got shafted so many times by his “family” members. He was denied an existence and had to take care of himself whenever his mom wasn’t around growing up. Yet slowly you get to see the real Jason which was so much more than how he was shown at the beginning of the book.
There was so much chemistry between Christine and Jason but they had the issue of Trent to deal with first. Christine had to find herself and really figure out what she wanted for herself before making any decisions with her love life.
There were a few twists and turns that had huge effects on the story and I loved them!! The incident in the hospital was huge and I was so mad at how the truth was hidden from Christine!! What happens because of that changes everything and I was so frustrated!!
I was also mad when the truth comes out regarding Jason’s incarceration!!
I was so proud of Trent at the end of the book and I was glad that Christine did the right thing!
Davis really hooks the reader and you won’t want to put it down. Jason and Christine have an attraction no one can pass by. They are forced to work through obstacles. Loved it!
Diversion is a stand alone story. We meet Christine and Trent. These 2 are engaged and trent works for her father. Trent asks Christine to stop by his place and grab a file. But when she looks for it she comes across a file of someone she didn’t know about, Jason. Jason is Trents half brother that no one talks about. Their father stepped out and Jason was conceived to a drug addict. Christine takes it upon herself to try and fix it between the brothers. This book had twist with lies and back stabbing. Your heart breaks for Jason. His life wasn’t easy. Great book. Definitely couldn’t put it down.
I love Leanne Davis and have read all of her books. Diversions took me a bit to get into and the story was a little slow paced. But all of that aside it was a great book and fantastic story!
This book took me by complete surprise in the best way! It took me a few chapters to get in to it but when it didn’t go the way I thought it would I was hooked. There was so much emotion. My heart was so heavy for Jason from the get go. What crappy situations he had in his life. Christine tugged at my heart strings. I totally understood her. I went back and forth with Trent. I liked him. Then didn’t. And their families?! So many ups and downs. I really appreciated that their story took turns I didn’t expect. Definitely 5 stars for a story that has all the feels and then some.
This was a great read filled with highs and lows. There is so much angst and suspense, and a lot of love. Your heart breaks for Jason on so many levels. And then there’s Christine, I really loved her and felt bad for her, especially when everything happens to her. I don’t want to give anything away, but man did this book make me cry!!!! My only thing is that I wish this book had an epilogue!
I have not read anything by Leanne Davis that has let me down. She has a way with character building that is unlike most authors. There is so much depth that I cannot get enough of them.
I love anything Leanne Davis writes and this is no exception. Another absolutely awesome book by this author. This book had me captivated from the very beginning and I could not put it down. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend that you read it.
Leanne Davis once again delivers a thoroughly enjoyable read. The twists and turns that Jason and Christine take throughout the story keep the reader engaged and reading on to find out how their story ends and it is not a disappointment.
Christine is engage to Trent she finds out he has a very hot half brother that his family is keeping a secret. What happens when she meets this very hot brother?
Absolutely love everything from Leanne. This one is no exception. Great story line. Beautifully written
There are so many emotions in this book that you will feel like your on a roller coaster throughout the entire book (In a good way). Love, loss, back-stabbing, heartache, betrayal and lies are just some of the things you will get from this story. You will be so invested in this story that you will not be able to put it down once you start it. I would love to see more from all of the characters in this book. I’m hoping we get more very soon!!
This was a good book. Lots of angst, tears and I kinda wanted to throw my iPad a few times but I really enjoyed it. We have Jason, the secret bastard son of a politician, Trent, the legal son of said politician and a real turd and Christine who is the fiancée of Trent, and daughter of wealthy parents. Christine accidentally finds out about Jason and goes to meet him and develops feelings for him. Who will win her? Poor Jason has never been loved and is a hard a$$ most of the time and Christine’s parents are interfering and Trent’s parents are despicable. Dive in and join the fun!
When a woman decides to try and right wrong that was done to a man she has never met she had no idea of the high cost it would have on not only in her life but also his and their families.
Twenty six years ago a man cheats on his wife and a child is the product of that. But the man has high aspiration and a wife and child and does his best to conceal that mistake from the world. That child has paid his whole life for the sins of his parents. After a stint in prison for a crime he didn’t commit he has been trying to make something of this life at his foster father’s auto mechanic business. What he doesn’t know is his life is about to change by a woman who is engaged to his half-brother.
Christine Andrews was different type of heroine. She was raised by wealthy parents and had a privileged life. Just out of college she moved back home not knowing yet what she wanted to do professionally. She took at job at her father’s company and in the interim met and got engaged to her father’s assistant Trent Gallagher. But when she finds a folder at his house about a brother he has never told her about and she hears a bit of history about this brother she cannot believe what her fiancée and his father have done to him. She sets out to meet him not knowing that this is going to change the course of her life and her relationships with everyone in her life.
Christine was so naive to the ugly that people do and Jason had a huge chip on his shoulder from all the wrongs done to him but when these two met it was like the universe finally aligned for them. But it was doomed from the start and Christine is the one that pays the highest price.
Your emotions are on a rollercoaster all throughout this story. Your rooting for the underdogs hoping for that Cinderella ending but life isn’t a always a fairy tale and where Jason is used to this Christine is devastated. But will all those that have wronged Jason finally atone for their sins so the star crossed lovers can finally get their HEA??
