Now includes an excerpt from the upcoming Four: A Divergent Collection.
This first book in Veronica Roth’s #1 New York Times bestselling Divergent trilogy is the novel the inspired the major motion picture starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Kate Winslet. This dystopian series set in a futuristic Chicago has captured the hearts of millions of teen and adult readers.
Perfect for fans of … adult readers.
Perfect for fans of the Hunger Games and Maze Runner series, Divergent and its sequels, Insurgent and Allegiant, are the gripping story of a dystopian world transformed by courage, self-sacrifice, and love. Fans of the Divergent movie will find the book packed with just as much emotional depth and exhilarating action as the film, all told in beautiful, rich language.
One choice can transform you. Beatrice Prior’s society is divided into five factions — Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Beatrice must choose between staying with her Abnegation family and transferring factions. Her choice will shock her community and herself. But the newly christened Tris also has a secret, one she’s determined to keep hidden, because in this world, what makes you different makes you dangerous.

This was my favorite of the series. Very well written with intriguing characters.
I absolutely loved this book! Definitely a must!!!
I loved the book. It is by far one of the best books that i have ever read.
This was a truly great book. I’ve never read this author before, but thoroughly enjoyed her style. I typically don’t read dystopian, but really enjoyed it for a change. I especially like the romantic elements that happened throughout the book which was a nice change from the action and the typical dystopian elements.
Not particularly well written, but decent plot that highlights self sacrifice.
I LOVED IT, IT IS SOOO AWSOME IF ANY ONE SEE’S THIS COMENT READ THE BOOK IT IS SO GREAT
Loved it
If you like The Giver or any other “utopian” community stories, this book is for you.
First, I feel like I need to clear the air. For years after watching the Divergent film, I have had little good to say about the film. So many assumptions were made in the film, and then suddenly two characters who showed little connection to each other were in love, and it made Divergence look less unique. Then, a week ago, I decided to give the …
This book is by far one of my favorites and anyone who is interested in teen/young adult books should definitely give Divergent a try.
Good trilogy, read them all!
The entire Divergent series is crack for readers. Plan to give up several days of your life because you won’t be able to put down these books down.
We enter a world after a long war and now there’s peace. Here people have in to factions based on certain characteristics such as honesty and selflessness. For Beatrice, she is uncertain if she belongs to abnagation- always helping others. Upon discovering she fits into more than one faction , she leaves her own for dauntless- that values bravery. …
It’s hard to remember how I felt about Divergent initially. A story about a girl who secretly defies expectation with the help of others in a dystopian society. Not only does she leave the traditions of her family, she goes as far away as possible. Not because she hates her family, but because it wasn’t who she was. I like that. People should be …
I didn’t even get through half of the second book before I got sick of it and returned it. The main character, Tris, was very annoying and many of the choices she made did not make sense. And although I hated Tris, I hated Four even more. He was verbally abusive towards Tris and they constantly fought with each other.
Overall, this book was very …
Great dystopian
Great YA novel
My Favorite book of all time, thats how good it is. Fell in love with this utopic version of our world, and loved how a female character had to embrace the courage she didnt know she has. Its simply amazing.
Great series!! Action packed with great characters!
Dark setting and plot. Stayed with to see what happened but not enthused about it. Highly recommended by my family who enjoyed it, but not for me
