She’s got probable cause to make her move . . . Danika Silva can’t stand Lt. Greer Burns. Her roommate’s older brother may be sexy as hell, but he’s also a cold, unfeeling robot. She just wants to graduate the police academy and forget about her scowling superior. But when a dangerous mistake lands Danika on probation—under Greer’s watch—she’s forced to interact with the big, hulking jerk. Call … interact with the big, hulking jerk. Call him daily to check in? Done. Ride shotgun in his cruiser every night? Done. Try not to climb into his giant, muscular lap and kiss him? Umm…
Greer doesn’t let anything—or anyone—distract him from the job. Except lately, all he can think about is Danika. He’s wanted the beautiful, cocky recruit since the moment he saw her. But she’s reckless and unpredictable, and Greer is painfully aware of what can happen when an officer doesn’t follow the rules. Probation seemed like a good idea, but now Danika’s scent is in his car and he’s replayed her voicemails twenty times. Christ, he’s a goner.
Danika’s melting Greer’s stone-cold exterior one ride-along at a time. Being together could have serious consequences… but breaking a few rules never hurt anybody, right?

What is there to say about Greer except he was everything I hoped and wanted him to be. He was such a grump and closed off yet he was getting to the point where he knew something had to change in his life he just didn’t know what. Enter Danika. She was the perfect person for him. She was a super independent person who could do anything she put her mind to. Yet when Greer tried to “control” her she liked it but only he could do this. And it was on Danika that brought that side out in him. Of course Greer had a lot of baggage that he had to work through before he realized that as long as he had Danika he could work though anything.
I loved this series of books and I must say the best was saved for last.
Love this author
This book is simply wonderful and the writing is superb. Actually, anything by Tessa Bailey is wonderful!
I loved this book so much! The characters are flawed and the romance and dialogue are unreal! It’s a page-turner.
Tessa Bailey absolutely killed this one!
If you love a good grovel after a super intense slow burn then Disturbing His Peace will be your catnip!
I’ve read several series that build up to the final book that have proved to be good but not great and at times even a bit of let down but that is so not the case here!
Greer is on autopilot and heading for burnout until Danika shakes up his world. Danika is used to doing everything for everyone in her life until Greer shows her the importance of asking for help and relying on those you love.
The build up between these two is so delicious, that mat moan is everything!, and then explodes into some serious sexy times. The exploration of their emotional issues is also beautifully handled and led to an extremely satisfying ending of an excellent series! Tessa is now on my preorder list!
I’m actually happy I’ve waited to read the last two books in this series because I couldn’t have hold out for Danika and Greer, their story is so intense.
* Good storyline that continues after the teasing glimpse we got in the previous book
* Greer and his stoic manners gets rumpled by Danika and I love how she gets under his skin.
* The chemistry between them is sizzling and the feelings is coming clearly through in the story
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* The dialogues is plenty and some of them so emotional
* I love the love scenes, they are hot, raw and sweet, but so tasteful.
This is the last book in this series and it’s the best. Tessa Bailey has a tendency to tease you through the series with little snippets that makes you crave more. When the last book comes you are so on edge that you’re expectations are very high, and she delivers as always
5 stars
What an amazing book to end this series!! I loved Danika and Greer in this book.
I loved Danika, she was both tough but vulnerable. She likes the idea of taking care of others and helping however she is willing to bend rules and do things herself instead of working with a partner or asking for help. She is an amazing friend and daughter.
Greer was a man I really liked to get frustrated with. In some ways, I really liked his controlling dominating ways. However there were times I felt like it was his defense mechanism. He is this by the book type of man, who likes a woman who likes to color outside the lines and it frustrates him. Watching him squirm with Danika was fun to read about.
The sexy times between these two were hot. I loved the banter between them also. This whole book was just a joy to read. I didn’t want it to end.
Tessa Bailey’s police romances are the very best! This series takes place at the Academy, and has all the characteristic dirty talk, alpha male domination and hot and heavy romance of all Bailey’s books. Read one, then you’ll have to devour the rest like candy.
Disturbing His Peace by Tessa Bailey is book Three in The Academy Series. This is the story of Danika Silva and Lt. Greer Burns. I haven’t yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Greer is the academy instructor and Danika is one of his students. But along with that she is also living with his best friend and his sister. So any relationship should be off the table…but its not. Greer usually a tunnel vision all business person is having a hard time not being distracted and wanting Danika. Danika thinks he is hard and cold but that isn’t stopping her from wanting him to heat her up and more.
Really enjoyed this book and it is hard to put down for sure. Will be looking for more books by this author.
4.25 ‘Rule Breaking’ Stars
Oh sweet Lord of Grumpy and ‘He-Man’ Thighed Lieutenants!
The final book of the Academy – and one of the most anticipated every since the very first one – is is here and let me tell you, not even after reading the previous books, I would expect the battle that it would be to put these two together. True definition of enemies to lovers combined with forbidden relationship!
You know what happens when you put two stubborn control freaks together, that have crackling chemistry and lust going on from the very first sight?! An explosive story that is Disturbing His Peace that what!
Greer and Danika are blindsided by the attraction they feel towards one another from the very first day she set her foot in the Academy, and for long and excruciating months now, they have been denying and pushing aside – or at least trying, lol – the insane lust, and craving, the proximity to other makes them feel. And you can imagine how that went, two fully devoted and controlled professionals, feeling for months and months out of control. It was inhuman to resist all that time, lol…
Every day, since the very first meeting, the fight has been monumental, and each day they feel themselves giving in, little by little, to their attraction, so when they really touch, for the very first time, there was no going back to ignoring the mutual physical want. It was a explosion of feeling at the first contact!
Lieutenant Greer, the rule follower, always ‘by the book’ man – instructor to Danika’s recruit – was such a complex and tortured hero. Fully dedicated to his job – which was his whole life until a certain recruit walked into his life – with a baggage the size of a mack truck, and the ever present ghosts of his past, cause for his extreme fear of loss, this man put us and Danika trough the ringer, and I truly hurt for him.
His inner thoughts constant battle, and tormented feelings were a bit part of this story, of their story, causing him to reflect in his actions that struggle between what he wanted and what he thought he should do. His mind and his heart’s war was a huge emotional component of Disturbing His Peace, if not for the enormous extent caused by it, resulting in a bit of push and pull – hot and cold – game, that took too big of a part, and until too late in the storyline, I would have loved their tale even more.
Poor Danika, even after finding out that Lieutenant @ss-Hat, that she felt equal parts attraction and hate for how he treated Jack in the past, craved her just as much as she did him, she had to face a tone of obstacles, but the biggest one was Greer himself. Fortunately, their bodies gave in much faster then their mind did, giving us plenty of Tessa Bailey’s SCORCHING HOT – I’ll never look at a patrol car the same way, that’s for sure, lol – trademark moments, where the hint of forbidden coupled with his filthy talk, just took them to a whole height of heat. Volcanic proportions!
Oh my… This man… WOW. No wonder Danika was so captivated by him, even after all his pushing away and his @sshole attitudes. There were plenty of pluses there too, lol!
Danika was such an extraordinary and strong female character! So totally kickass and independent, she she is not only fully devoted to her career, but her her loved ones. She does literally everything for them, even demands it in all her controlling glory, not asking or allowing anyone to help. But Greer seems to be her counterpart in every way, and sees right trough her, all the way she doesn’t deal with it and carries the world on her shoulders, and he’s the one that offers a way for her to let go, and finally realize, she doesn’t need to control and do everything on her own. Her insistent spirit, and never giving up, applied also to her relationship with Greer, but specially in trying to help him, to reach him, and break his self imposed loneliness.
They truly were the perfect match in every way, the way she incessantly fought for him, for them, and his palpable love and devotion, and their mutual attraction was amazing to see!
Greer and Danika had such beautiful, emotional and steamy moments between the them, that I really wish his pushing and pull, and inner battle, haven’t taken so long to be resolved, because I wanted even more couple time, even more moments with them truly together, without conflict. Once Greer gave in it was amazing to see, so the greedy romantic that I am, I wanted much more of that. He was so swoon-worthy, once he shed the jerk and rule-abiding persona, I wanted the chance to take a deeper look into more of that perfect TB hero!
Tessa Bailey really has the gift of writing a simultaneously emotional, rich and steamy hot story, like no other. Disturbing His Peace is the proof of that, from beginning to end, Ms. Bailey transports us and make us live the struggle, pain, joy and victory right along with Greer and Danika. The complexity of the characters, the incredible setting are flawlessly good. And the little glimpses we had into the secondary characters (MY Jack was brilliant!), couples from the previous books, just sweetened the deal. And like the greedy reader I am, I wanted even more, just like I wished the Epilogue – given it was the closure of this fantastic series – had been further on and more extent. So it is bittersweet saying goodbye to such splendid characters and excellent series, that gave me so much joy. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Bailey has reserved for us next! <3 <3 <3 <3
In case you haven’t been following my reviews, I adore Tessa Bailey. She’s absolutely one of the best romance writers I’ve read and I love everything she writes! She’s also the queen of dirty talking heroes and Greer is my new favorite! Side note, it’s weird to be typing “Greer” and referring to the hero. I just read American King by Sierra Simone and Greer was the heroine’s name. Disturbing His Peace is the last book in Tessa’s The Academy Series which follows three friends as they finish the NYPD police academy. This book has one of my favorite plots, the teacher and the student. Or in this case, the serious instructor and the vivacious future cop!
Like in all of Tessa’s books, the chemistry between the main characters is scorching! Greer and Danika have been circling each other since the first book and it was so satisfying when they gave into their attraction! What I loved most about this story is how relatable Danika is. She ends up assuming the problems of her family and being the person that handles everything. Even when she makes mistakes, some of which cause problems in her relationship with Greer, they are relatable and mistakes that I would make myself. She is a competent and self-assured woman and yet can still be vulnerable with Greer.
Greer. Oh, Greer. You’re not Elijah level in my list of Tessa dream heroes but you’re pretty damn close. What can I say, I have a huge soft spot for the silent and solemn heroes. He fights his attraction to Danika so hard and yes, is an ass at times. But he totally makes up for it by loving and supporting her. His biggest fear is losing those close to him and Danika being a cop terrifies him. However, he still supports her dream and wants her to be the best cop possible. Behind his brooding demeanor is a dirty talking, ass-slapping hero and Danika is his perfect fit. Plus, who can’t help but love a cop who organized a book club for officers in therapy?
I’m sad that this series ended but Danika and Greer’s story was the perfect finish. I loved watching the sparks fly between them in the early books and when they finally got together, it was just so satisfying!
Should I start with the cliche… ” Best in the series… “?
Or how about… ” Tessa Bailey has saved the best class for last… ?
Yes, that’s it. Disturbing His Peace is giving us the whole teacher/student affair, law enforcement academy style. Lieutenant Burns is going to teach his recruit a lesson or two.. but behind every good instructor, there was a pupil who taught them a thing or two as well. Danika has no problem telling her instructor what he can do with his clipboard.
I love this series. The books have just about a little bit of everything. Sassy, funny, a little angst and in true Bailey signature, HOT!!! I mean a cop who is harboring some intense feelings will work out all those emotions the best way he can… especially under the sheets.
What makes this book a little more special from the previous two stories? You can truly see what a familial knot looks like among friends. I don’t mean just between Charlie, Jack and Danika. No. There’s a bit more, so you will need to read it to see it for yourself.
Without a doubt, I love this series. I loved ALL the characters. I mean who doesn’t who love a romance that ends with hearts, badges and cuffs…
DISTURBING HIS PEACE is the third and final instalment in Tessa Bailey’s contemporary, adult THE ACADEMY erotic, romance series focusing on three police academy cadets: Charlie Burns, Jack Garrett and Danika Silva. This is police Lieutenant Greer Burns, and Danika Silva’s story line. DISTURBING HIS PEACE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told fro dual first person perspectives (Danika and Greer) DISTURBING HIS PEACE follows the building relationship between police academy cadet Danika Silva, and Lieutenant Greer Burn. As one of the academy trainers Greer knows Danika is off limits but his attraction to our story line heroine is visceral; building as the weeks of training progress until an accidental meeting in the shower finds Greer revealing the extent of his physical attraction. Hoping to keep their relationship on the down low, all bets are off as Charlie and Jack, and their significant others watch from the sidelines as Greer and Danika battle between attraction, love and the ultimate fear of letting go.
Greer doesn’t do relationships, and isn’t willing to risk a relationship fearing rejection, or death on the job. Danika battles between her head and her heart believing Greer’s inevitable rejection will come at a cost.
The relationship between Greer and Danika is one of immediate attraction but Greer is Danika’s supervisor, and thusly our heroine is off-limits. The palpable sexual attraction is deep-seated; almost instinctive as our couple dance around one another throughout the series. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense. There is some light spanking; Lieutenant Burns likes to talk dirty both in and out of the bedroom.
All of the previous story line couples play secondary and supporting characters including Greer’s brother Charlie and his girlfriend Ever (Disorderly Conduct #1), as well as Jack Garrett and Katie McCoy (Indecent Exposure #2). We are introduced to Danika’s parents, as well as her cousin Robbie.
DISTURBING HIS PEACE is a decadent, sexy and spicy story line. The premise is energetic; the romance is captivating and provocative; the characters are sassy, spirited and real. DISTURBING HIS PEACE and The Academy series will captivate your attention, leaving you wanting more.
