Kay was a veterinarian and was in an accident but woke up in the past in medieval Scotland. Their were other women who had made it to the castle she was transported to by the Sidhe. Liam was the stable master and they ere having a problem with wisps killing their cattle and sometimes people. Liam and Ky had an interesting and fun journey as they struggled to adjust to a romance that agreed with a modern woman and a medieval clansman all the while trying to solve the mystery of trying to rid the keep and bog of the pesky wisps. Fun read.

Loved the Heroine, But Issues…
I have been reading works by this author for a long time. She writes in romance subgenres that I really like, like Jane Austen fanfiction and Highlander romance. Unfortunately, I find her works to be of variable quality. I thought that much had improved along those lines with the last book of the series. This book, however, seems to have reverted to some of the issues that have bothered me before.
I did like the core of this story, though. Kay is a strong and smart heroine, and I always love that. Who doesn’t? Like all the ladies in this series who get thrust back into time, she takes a little while to understand it all completely and for her to get her bearings. Her knowledge as a veterinarian is what this time needs, though as a woman, her knowledge and insight aren’t necessarily appreciated. I also felt like I kept waiting for a moment where her knowledge would truly shine, and she would use her 21st-century skills to save an animal in a dramatic moment. That never happened. It was nice seeing the other couples from the previous books and learning how their lives have progressed since the last book. This author writes a lot of books, and I can see her storytelling skills improving the more she writes.
What continually drives me crazy with her books is the absolutely terrible grammar, punctuation, and usage. Page one had an inappropriate apostrophe. That may be a small thing, but when you open a book hoping that the editor proclaimed on the title page will have done her job—as she mostly did in the previous book I read—it jumped out at me and made me think, “Oh, no… here we go again!” There were other odd errors throughout, most of which was punctuation that had no cause being there whatsoever. There also seem to be strange stylistic choices as well, a curious blend of US and UK approaches. I truly wonder if Ms. Lance truly looked this over, or if the statement that she was the editor was just a holdover from the previous book’s title page.
So while I find the above terribly distracting, as I have in most of this author’s works, I do enjoy her ability to spin a yarn, and I particularly enjoy this series.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Rebecca Preston again brings us a beautifully written, time travel tale packed with mystery, intrigue, action, adventure, betrayal and romance with a bit of the magic thrown in for good measure. I was captivated from page one until the very last page. You don’t want to miss this story!
The characters were all wonderfully created and interesting. Liam and Kay were great together and the romance sweet with a touch of magic. The plot was interesting, well developed and creative.
I enjoyed this story immensely and thank you so much Rebecca for such an intriguing and delightfully written romance.
Strong characters for sure. There were several twists in this book that made it so good.
I love this series I have read them all so far they are fantastic!!! I am hooked!
ARC review For honest review. This story is about Kay Morris who goes back to the 1600 ‘s Scotland after a crash . Where she meets the girls Anna , na ncy, and Elena demon from her time and their mates . Since is is a vet. She is their to save the keep . Awesome story
Struggling to maintain her place in a male-dominated world had not been easy for Kay Morris, and when the forces of fate carried her into the past, she still had to struggle to assert her ideas. The monstrous creatures continued to spread terror and as the fourth time-lost woman, so Liam Grant called them, this independent woman felt she had something to contribute and was decided to risk her life for the safety of others. Too bad Liam was not too open to communication and Kay thought that passion and sexual chemistry were nothing if they couldn’t communicate. Liked that Kay was strong minded, decided, smart and witty and not wasted time heading for action and results. An interesting, intriguing story with action, suspense, drama, mystery, strange creatures, violence, mortal fights, romance and passion.
I am glad I read this book. I love this series and look forward to more. This one is about Liam and Kay. Kay is a lonely woman, just out of vet school and working her first full-time job. She is independent and loving. She grew up on a farm and learned to love farm animals and especially horses. That is what got her to go to veterinary school. On her way back to the clinic she had a fatal accident. She was rescued by the magic of the Sidhe. Supernatural beings that looked out for mankind. They infused her with warmth and peace. They healed her wounds and sent her on her way. She wakes up in 16th century Scotland. The first person she meets is Maggie. Maggie’s character is in every book of this series. I just adore her character. She is a fierce yet kind wisenheimer. The second person she meets is Liam. He is the stablemaster for Clan Grant and is cousin to the Laird. He came to Maggie to discuss the latest threat to the clan. Kay finds him attractive but is still thinking that she is in a coma and hallucinating or going mad. Luckily, she is the fourth woman to appear there from the future. She brainstorms with Liam about the threat. Her suggestions are followed through and are helpful. But the threat is growing. In the meantime, she and Liam are getting to know each other. When Kay comes up with a brilliant plan to eradicate the threat Liam shoots it down. Down but not out, Kay dangerous goes to prove her theory. If it was not for Liam rescuing her, she would be dead. Liam finally admits the idea has merit and agrees to follow through on it. This gets all the women involved in training the men and set up a reloading station for the men on attack day. In the meantime, Liam and Kay have sex and it means more to Liam than to Kay. Kay just did not understand how things went and what they meant in the 16th century. With the help of the other three time travelers she began to see her relationship with Liam in a new light. What will happen to them? Only time will tell. The threat? Will they be able to beat it? Only time will tell. This is an exciting book and a must read. You will not be disappointed.
Kay thought she was dead but then came the dream – she is in 16th century Scotland. Then she realizes it’s not a dream and has to deal with her new reality. Perhaps she’ll find help from Liam, the Grant Clan member. Kay thought she had it hard fighting for a place in the 21st century – that’s nothing compared to the new fight she has. Her vet skills might mean the difference between life and death.
Time travel, excellent characters, nice strong heroine that thinks for herself and knows what needs to be done, a quiet highlander and magic all make this a fast paced, fun read. Fabulous world building and character development. The story line is adventurous with both characters learning more about themselves and they other as they find their way to HEA.
I always worry when I get drawn into a series, I always think the next book will just not be that good and will let me down. Rebecca Preston’s Scottish Time Travel Romance series just gets better and better. I’m also not necessarily a fan of the paranormal genre, but the character development of the woman from the future in each of these books is outstanding. Although medieval Scotland may be a very male dominated world, each of the woman from the future has built meaningful, fulfilling lives with understanding and supportive mates. Liam, the stable master and Kay, a veterinarian, our well suited on the surface, but their connection is much deeper. The battle with the evil wisps is a bit of an allegory to man’s changing environments and the changes that creates. The book is well paced, intense at times, and the chemistry between Liam and Kay is electric. I love this series and can’t wait for the next book.

Outstanding work.
Oh, what a delightful time-travel tale is was so good. Veterinarian Kay Morris after a car crash ends up in the past like 500 years in the past. It does take a while to come to grips with the fact for Kay and she is going to face some interesting challenges but one may turn out to be interesting and that is Liam Grant. Rebecca Preston always brings the reader outstanding work and this is a prime example. I loved the characters, plot, and it was written so well. High praise and I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
The story line was great, the character work was fantastic and the book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was another great addition to the series and kept me entertained from beginning to end.

This 4th book in the Highlander Forever Series is a very well-written time travel romance story with wonderful characters that are very cautious. There is drama, intrigue, tension, turmoil, danger, and she looks like his lost love and that cause issues for these characters. This story has action, adventure, betrayal, twists/turns, chemistry and love with a HEA that must be worked for. These characters have wonderful personalities that are brought alive by this great Author who I will be reading more books by.

Another wonderful story in the Highlander Forever series. I always enjoy time travel stories, it’s always fun to see how someone from the future can handle being hundreds of years in the past. Not only that, this series also involves faeries, supernatural beings and even the famous Loch Ness Monster, Nessie!!!
Kay, a veterinarian, gets into an accident and wakes up on the shores of Loch Ness, 500 years into the past. The first person she meets is Maggie….you gotta love Maggie, what a character! lol The second person she meets is Liam and it’s instant attraction. When he brings her back to the castle, she meets the other women (from the previous books in the series) that have come from the future and it was fun to visit with them again.
The evil Wisps are causing alarm for the villagers by luring and eating their animals and even humans at the bog. It’s up to Kay and Liam to figure out a way to stop them and completely eradicate them! It’s quite interesting to read the way they go about it:)
