Donovan Beckett is a recluse who wants no commitments or entanglements of any kind. He works hard to ensure no one can penetrate the wall he’s carefully constructed around himself—until the day his new neighbor stumbles into him. It isn’t anything like instant love. Far from it. Eden Avery doesn’t want to be curious about her neighbor. He’s the most infuriating and closed-off person she’s ever … person she’s ever met—not to mention the rudest. She doesn’t want to find the uptight bastard irresistible and she shouldn’t be able to sense the minute he’s within spitting distance, but does. She really shouldn’t fantasize about his hands on her body, but that’s happening too.
They can fight it all they want, but nothing can stop the mutual attraction that’s about to disrupt both of their lives.

Disrupt by Ella Fox is the story of Eden Avery and Donovan Beckett.
Eden is trying to start over after her father and his new wife took all of her money which left her unable to pay for her college nor a home. So she took a job in a somewhat small town as a hotel manger that gives her a free room to stay in. There she meets Donovan who is a regular person that has his own room at the hotel. Donovan is very unfeeling and anti-social to her and most people…which we later learn his tragic past that cause him to close off. The attraction between the two is hard to not act on and Eden slowly starts to crack Donvan’s harsh attitude.
Loved this book and so enjoyed their story. I am defiantly now a fan of Ms. Fox’s writing.
Donovan and Eden…so, so sweet! Eden is the definition of though she be but little, she is fierce and her sunshine like disposition can’t help but reach Donovan’s bruised and battered heart. Such a sweet story!
Omg…this book is amazing! There were scenes where I wanted to slap one of the characters and make him see what he had in front of him! The book has a few parts that broke my heart, and I was crying my eyes out. Even so, this book kept me wanting to know more about them. I love this book, and I highly recommend it!
I was really debating on giving it either a 4,5 star or a 5 star but given the way how the story pulled me in and that ending was truly well deserving on giving it a 5 star ‘cuz I just couldn’t put the book down and that’s when I just know that it’s a story well written and heartfelt!
I truly hope we get Julie’s story next 🙂
Eden has been left almost broke when her father decides to leave with almost all her inherited money that was going to be used for college. Even though she’s heartbroken after his betrayal, she founds a good job that also has a free live-in arrangement. Bit by bit, she’s mending her broken heart. And when she meets Donovan there’s this chemistry between them that gives her chills but he doesn’t want anything to do with her or even with anyone else. But somehow down the line she is breaking down his walls although his past is still lurking above them and doesn’t seem to let him go…
Donovan has been trying to live his life quietly after everything that has happened and still is leaving him heartbroken but somehow being around Eden is slowly mending his broken heart. But there’s still this fear inside him that doesn’t make him take that final leap of faith. Will Eden finally break through his walls and give him the closure he needs to finally move on with his life? And will Donovan give Eden the break she so desperately needs?…
This was a beautiful, heartwarming novel by Ella Fox. The characters were so lovable, and the plot kept you turning pages! The story was sexy and emotionally satisfying. Sometimes characters just need that push to see what is in front of their faces. I can’t wait for Ella Fox’s next book.
Holy tearjerker! I was not expecting that at all! I was just reading along and then BAM! It hit me with the emotions! Donovan is so closed off and you think you know why he may be that way. At least I thought I knew why. I was totally wrong. This book had me feeling on all sides! All.The.Feels!!! Eden and Donovan both really needed people that they could count on. They both had their story to tell. But when all was said and done it was all about if they wanted to be together or not. And once that decision was made there was no going back. I have to say that I absolutely adored Julie. She had me cracking up the whole time. You always have to love the meddling family members! I totally loved this book and I would recommend it to anyone! Its a very sweet love story and should be enjoyed by all!
When Eden’s father empties her bank account, which held all her inheritance from her grandma, and was used to pay her tuition, Eden has no choice but to move to start over. She settles in a small town working at a hotel, and this is where she ends up meeting her grumpy, anti-social neighbor, Donovan “Stretch” Beckett. She’s oddly attracted to the man who rarely speaks to her and when he does, it’s only to grunt at her and speak in a few monosyllables. Eden’s curious about him, but not that curious, considering that he’s a complete jerk to her when he even bothers to speak to her. Still…there’s something about the man, perhaps it’s the pain she senses lies beneath his surface. The fact that he’s hot is just icing on the mysterious cake.
I just knew when these two finally gave into their attraction, it would be pretty explosive, mostly emotionally, and it was. I am heeding the author’s wish for a spoiler free review, so I’ll just say that Stretch’s issue is pretty heartbreaking, and it made Donovan doubly reluctant to let anyone into his heart. Thank God for Eden, because she’s persistent as hell!
I highly recommend you 1-click Disrupt today. It’s emotionally satisfying, and Donovan “Stretch” and Eden “Short Stack” will make you fall in love with them just like I did.
Why is it about a**h***s that melt your heart and make you fall in love with them? You will need to read about Donovan to find out.
I almost went blind into this book, I have read Ella Fox before so I wasn’t worried about that, but after the first chapter I knew this book was for me.
Eden needs a fresh start after she loses everything, she has no one to rely on but that doesn’t make her give up and ends up working at a motel with people that will help her get that fresh start.
That’s where she meets Donovan, that gorgeous but infuriating icy-man. Donovan is so closed-up with people, that makes him weird and rude but behind that facade there is a man fighting battles no one should.
The story of these two will break and melt your heart, you will be confused on how you can fall for a guy like Donovan but hurt for him at the same time, you will admire a girl like Eden and her strength and you will enjoy their love story from the beginning to the end.
“What’s happening is I can’t fight it anymore. You’re f* mine.”
That’s what I was talking about alpha-possessive Donovan, it’s just hard to resist this side of him.
I loved the characters, the story, the writing and the feelings I got from this book. I finished it in one day and I didn’t want it to end. This is one of my favorites of this year and
I hope we can get Julie’s story, she is a rockstar!
Disrupt was a beautifully written story about healing and learning to forgive. This book gave me all the feels and took me on a major emotional roller coaster. If you like angst then Disrupt is definitely for you. As always Ella Fox does an amazing job of describing the push and pull relationship of her characters and paints a breathtaking story.
Donovan is about as closed off as they come. He is clearly tormented by something in his past, but even his amazing family can seem to help him heal. While Eden is just trying to survive a betrayal unlike any other. She’s forced to take a job at a motel where she meets quirky friends and the broken Donovan. They shouldn’t desire each other but yet have a magnetic pull towards each other. Will Eden forgive and move on, will Donovan be able to heal is broken soul, and will they get their HEA? I guess you’ll have to find out for yourself, I don’t do spoilers. LOL
This book was a complete surprise and I loved every single second of it. It’s more of a NA than I was expecting but connection that I felt with the characters was immediate. This book made me laugh a lot and cry more than I thought I would. These two found each other at the absolute right time and couldn’t have been more prefect for each other.
I have read all of Ella’s Books loved each and every one of them, but Disrupt holy cow! It had all the feels! Love all the details that help you get to know the full story behind these two headstrong heart aching characters. Wonderfully written, had me crying like a baby. All I can say is this is the must read book of the year. Trust me you will love Donovan and Eden’s story.

I can name two authors who have reduced me to an absolute sobbing mess and now I can add one more.
The emotional overload I’m feeling now makes me re-think doing this review now but I can’t help but put down now what I’m feeling.
Sadness, anger, hope and why people choose the path they do. Are they born that way? Or did something happen to make them that way? I’m positive we will never get that answer. And I think that’s the reason why one feels this sense of what could I have done differently. Could I have prevented it.
I stayed away from all chatter when Ella released this story I didn’t want to know what had happened to Donavon to reduce a man to become so emotionally shut down. Or Eden’s story, to how she came into his life.
What Ella did for me was give me that hope, that maybe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
The story is beautifully written, it’s confronting but told in a way that makes you think long after the long the last word is written.
It’s a story I know but I’ve taken so much more from it. It’s real and it happens. And those that come out the other end are stronger than they think.
Donavon’s story is one that I won’t forget. Because it could be anyone of ours.
Thank you seems so inadequate but that’s what I have after finishing this book.
Disrupt by Ella Fox is a contemporary standalone romance told in dual POV between the strong and resilient Eden and the damaged and reserved Donovan. Having lost everything Eden has taken a job that provides lodging at a small resort. What she doesn’t expect is the surly neighbor and his rude behavior or the long reaching consequences of their meeting.
Eden can’t find her father or the thousands of dollars that he has taken from the life insurance money left to her when her mother and grandmother died tragically. Cut off from her entire life she finds a job at a small resort. Determined to keep her foot in the hospitality industry even if she isn’t currently able to go to school for her degree and grateful that her new job includes room & board she picks up and moves. What she isn’t prepared for is the sizzling connection with surly neighbor next door and the sparks that fly when they literally run into each other.
Donovan is hot and distant and has such a heartbreaking backstory. This was truly a wonderful emotional read. Like, it was hot and sexy and funny, but when the angst moment hit it was painful and heartbreaking and wonderfully written. Enjoy!
Eden meets Donovan after she moves and ends up with him as a neighbour. Closed off and rude, he infuriates Eden no end. There is no instant love between these two, at the beginning they can barely even tolerate each other but there is an attraction that seems to get stronger each time they meet.
I really liked both these characters. Eden is betrayed, broke and hurting but she’s still determined to move on and make the best of a bad situation. Donovan has suffered his own heartbreak but he’s chosen to deal with it by closing himself off away from people, but even he can’t deny the attraction he feels for Eden forever.
I really enjoyed Disrupt. The characters are fantastic, the story is well paced and I struggled to put this book down.
So I really enjoyed “Disrupt” It was incredibly easy to just kick back and get sucked in here.
This being my first experience with this particular author I wasn’t quite sure what to actually expect.
Didn’t need to worry at all; as almost instantly I was swept up into the simplicity and magic that makes up this excellently written story.
So this tale centres around Eden Avery and Donovan Beckett.
Eden has just moved to Donavon’s small town for work after being left high and dry by her father.
Donovan is a resident at the motel she is now employed by essentially her new neighbour.
He is as closed off as Eden is open and our girl makes it her new mission in life to burrow under his skin and take up residency with Donavon understandably fighting her every step of the way.
Both seem polar opposites in nature but were also incredibly easy to relate and emphasise with.
I have to confess though I did kinda guess very early on what the big reveal was going to be here and I was right, but no matters I still very much devoured Disrupt; it didn’t make a damn bit of difference to my overall perception and enjoyment here.
This was a slow build romance concentrating much more on the build-up and journey rather than bedroom gymnastics, which was really lovely and one of my favourite aspects of this story.
It kinda made it so worth the wait when we eventually did arrive at the expected destination.
Oh, the anticipation.
Told mostly from Edens POV with a few instances devoted to Donavon’s side worked fine for me, but if I’m being honest here I would have liked to see maybe a bit more from Donavon’s side of the fence.
Mainly because I felt like I had more of a handle on Eden and He was slightly more a closed off book It would have been nice to maybe delve a bit deeper here.
I also really adored these guys nicknames for each other like so much (Stretch and short-stuff).
Really original.
The epilogue here was one I also really adored one of my favourites for a while.
So this was a fabulous read that delivered on all fronts a deeply emotive read that I truly enjoyed.
Happy to recommend this one folk.
I was provided with an ARC of “Disrupt” By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Disrupt by Ella Fox is the love story of Eden Avery and Donovan Beckett. This story packs an emotional punch. Donovan Beckett had experienced horrific tragedy in his life seven years ago and because of this, he has become a recluse, a shut in and doesn’t let anyone close to him. Eden Avery had her life turned upside down by her father and his new wife when they stole her college funds, in fact, just robbed her blind and left her nothing. She must give up college but is lucky to get a job at Miller’s Efficiency Units as she tries to get her life under control and get some semblance of her life back to what it used to be. when she meets Donovan there’s this chemistry between them that gives her all this intense heat that pulses between them yet Donovan wants nothing to do with her or that connection/chemistry between them or really with anyone. But still Eden continues to still show up and be around, showing him what could happen which starts breaking down his walls but that doesn’t mean his past has gone away, its still around and doesn’t want to let go just yet. There’s still this fear inside him that doesn’t make him take that final leap of faith. Will Eden finally be able to break through his walls and give him the closure that he needs that will let him finally move on with his life? Will Donovan be the man who gives Eden the break, the love that she so desperately craves? This is such an amazing emotional ride from start to finish. You will laugh, cry, melt, and just aww because the characters will have you addicted from the beginning.
My Rating: 4.6 stars *****
“You’ll be my undoing.”
“You needed to be undone.”
What an amazing story! I absolutely loved Donovan – he’s my favorite kind of book boyfriend. He’s self-tortured, closed off, arrogant, irritating, a downright jerk – that just needs to right woman to come along and save him.
Donovan Beckett keeps everyone at a distance. He barely speaks to anyone, never smiles, and is basically a recluse. When she literally crashes in to his life, his safe little word comes unraveled, making him feel things he hasn’t felt in a very long time. She’s working her way in to not only his life, but his heart as well. He should walk away – she deserves so much better than him – but for the life of him he just can’t. Could she be the key to his salvation?
Eden Avery is starting over. After a betrayal she never saw coming, she’s trying to get on with her life. She never expected him. He’s brutally dismissive. He’s arrogant, unlikable, and irritating. And she can’t stop thinking about him. She can tell he’s got a story that he doesn’t want to talk about, and she’d be better off leaving him to sulk in self-pity. But for the life of her she just can’t. Could he be key to setting her life right again?
OMG this one had all the feels. Heartbreak, humor, sadness, happiness, and of course, steam. This was such a great read. I was drawn in from page one, and read the whole thing in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to get the answers to the mystery that is Donovan Beckett! I’d highly recommend this one!
Donovan Beckett experienced unspeakable tragedy seven years ago and since then he has become a recluse refusing to let anyone get close to him.
Eden Avery had her life turned upside down when she discovers that her father has stolen from her and left her with nothing. She must give up college but is lucky to get a job at Miller’s Efficiency Units as she tries to get her life back under control.
When Eden first meets Donovan she is shocked by his rudeness but gradually the two begin to become friends. Yet Donovan continues to keep Eden at a distance for some unknown reason.
Will Donovan ever let Eden in or will he continue to push her away?
This was a great book and I loved all of the twists in the story!
I thought Eden was such a great character and I felt awful for what happened to her with her dad and his wife, Sharon. I can’t believe how evil Sharon was and how she really messed up Eden’s future.
Dominic was such a mysterious character and I knew that something had happened in the past to destroy Dominic’s life. Dominic was very loyal and when he discovered what had happened to Eden in the past he knows he needs to help find her father.
I loved the relationship between Dominic and Eden and how they went up and down with how they dealt with everything. Dominic was so full of emotions from what he went through in the past and how he had to deal with everything he was going through before he was able to move on with Eden.
Discovering what happened in the past to Dominic broke my heart and I understood why he was struggling and was hesitant to get involved with anyone.
The end was awesome and I loved how everything gradually came together! – By Rebecca
WOW, What a wonderful ride this book is. I loved it from start to finish. The author has given us a storyline that will melt your heart while have you spitting nails at the same time. And the characters, OMG they are simply wonderful: Smart, Sassy, Flirty, Dangerous and Fun. This book has it all moments of Suspense, Aghast, Sadness, Happiness, Humor and Tears. Simply Amazing.
I love how the author builds up the story. From the start we know Donovan has suffered a terrible loss. To what extent we don’t know, but we know it has turned this wonderful man into a brooding, introverted guy who does his best to just survive day to day. We also know Eden has been dealt a terrible personal blow as well. A blow that causes her to basically start her life over from scratch. As the book unfolds and Donovan and Eden’s lives intersect, the story becomes alive. The author has written the book in such a way that the reader will feel every emotion and situation these two go through, both the good and the bad.
Kudo’s to Ms. Fox for an excellent storyline. One that kept me turning the pages and wishing for any kind of happy ending for these two lost souls. 5 Stars for a passionate, heartfelt storyline that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading, you won’t regret this one.
