PARTY CRIME (#11 in the Kat Makris series) is out now! There’s no offer for her to refuse …Kat Makris was a little girl when her father spun wild and outrageous bedtime stories about Baboulas, the Greek boogeyman, a lawless creature with a penchant for stealing gold and clashing with the gods. Now Kat is twenty-eight, single, a couch potato in a cube farm, when her father goes missing. Without … when her father goes missing. Without him, she’s alone in the world. Before the police can work their mojo, she herself is abducted by a couple of hoods with crooked noses, and she quickly discovers her father’s old stories were true—true crime, that is. This whole series is great! Very funny!!
Although the plot is not quite believable, I found myself laughing anyway. The characters are . . . well, real characters! The Greek cultural trivia I learned from this book was interesting, too. All in all, I looked forward to reading several chapters each night; sometimes, I even read beyond my allotted page count. If there had been fewer editing mistakes in the text, this would have rated at least four stars.
The writing was great. The characters adorable. Not completely believable but hey that’s family. Very enjoyable story.
I mostly enjoyed this book. Found the main character a bit too obtuse.
Crime with a very big fun character and if you like Greece it’s an added bonus!
Not very complicated and some storylines are predictable, but still worth reading!
It is a good read. It has a few laugh out loud moments.
I loved the female lead character in this novel. Her sense of humor kept me chuckling from beginning to end. I look forward to the next book in the series
This book was a nice change for from what I normally read and I’m considering reading the next one in the series. It had humour and wit which is two things a always appreciate.
Loved it!
What I liked about this book. Nothing !!!!
Book ends abruptly with no resolution of main storyline. Not going to buy next in series.
You have to be in the right mood to read something like this book. It’s whimsical, immature, repetitious and sometimes even fumnny.
The humor is good but off color.
This book is silly fun that’s perfect for reading on a lazy summer afternoon. The over-the-top characters are awesome.
average interest, forgettable characters, some witty dialogue. forgettable
Very quirky, but in a good way. Subtle and over the humor through out. I am on my third one.
first couple of chapters totally enjoyed thequips/puns etc then they were TOO frequent but I guess overall, the ‘funny’ fit it
Laugh out loud prose and great plot development. Good as a stand alone read or as the beginning of a fun filled relationship w the series. If you like Janet Evanovich you’ll love this unlikely heroine!
this is so a must read! many books say “janet evanovich-like” and sorta are… but THIS!! you don’t want it to be exactly like the stephanie plum series and janet evanovich, but truly in the same style… this is the book for you. i can’t remember how the author spelled “boubala” but you will laugh out loud! enjoy.
Loved it. Funny.ireverent, bought next book. Got to see what happens to gamy a d untangle character
