Sofia I didn’t know Raphael Amado when he turned up on our doorstep demanding restitution for an old debt. My grandfather knew him well, though, and he quickly conceded. That restitution? Me. Six months later, on my eighteenth birthday, Raphael came to claim me. He stole me from my home, taking me to his Tuscan estate, where from the crumbling chapel to the destroyed vineyard to that dark … where from the crumbling chapel to the destroyed vineyard to that dark cellar, the past stalked him like a shadow. Even the walls held secrets here and I’d need to uncover them all to survive.
Because taking me was only the beginning of his plan.
Raphael
Sofia was the sacrifice to pay for her grandfather’s sins.
She accused me of being the devil. And she’s right. But the truth was, he betrayed her.
And when the time came to promise to love, cherish, and obey she spoke the words that would seal her fate.
I do.
We have a common enemy, though, my unwilling bride and I. But even the devil protects what’s his. And she’s mine.
She just doesn’t yet know how much protecting she needs.

I loved Raphael and Sofia’s story! An old debt brings them together, but the stakes are high. He wants her honesty and obedience, but she’s a feisty woman who has a mind of her own. I loved the passion and intrigue, and Raphael is no angel, but he has a good heart. It just takes someone like Sofia to bring out the goodness in him. I also sense Damon and Lina has a story brewing, and I really look forward to theirs too!
What a splendid ride!! I absolutely adore mister Amado!! He is one hell of a man! Couldn’t get enough of this book. Mesmerizing, awesome!
Dishonorable is the first book in the Amado Brothers series. Raphael is on a mission. For his mother, for his family’s past, but most of all, for revenge. Sofia will be a sacrifice to become his wife, to make up for what her grandfather started so many years ago. But what will happen when Raphael starts to see Sofia as more than just collateral damage, and their hearts get involved?
Oh my goodness, talk about heart pounding, edge of my seat reading! Raphael and Sofia are full of hate and angst and hurt and secrets and love that just wants to shine through both of their damaged hearts. I loved reading this book, loved all of the emotions it stirred within me, and loved how much Sofia fought for their truth, passion, love, and future. Sofia is definitely a pawn in this book, between her grandfather and Raphael, but I loved that she never gave up. She saw something so special within Raphael that most people refused to look for, and I loved that she helped him heal, she helped him let go of the past (slowly and painfully for them both), but most of all, she offered her love unconditionally. Raphael had so much healing to do within these pages, and I loved that he never stopped being bad or dangerous or passionate, but some of his jagged edges softened some with Sofia. He was cocky and brash at times, but caring at others. Their connection just could not be denied, their passion was so strong, and I loved that no matter how upset or hurt they were by one another, they could always come back to this type of groundwork. There are so many secrets in this book, I was kept guessing until the end, and was even slightly worried about how it would all play out. But I loved every second I spent with this book and my heart is already racing with anticipation for the next brother’s book!
Arrange Marriage for Revenge!!! My favorite!!!
This story is really good!! Raphael is a hero I wanted to hate but how could I? With his tortured past and his anti-hero ways, he was fascinating. Sofia is young and naive but boy does she learn to adapt really fast! The story is suspenseful and thrilling. So many things unfolding that kept me glued to the pages. I wanted a few more details on a certain situation and hopefully with more brothers to write about I’ll get it. Love all the characters and can’t wait for Damon’s story
This was a good and sexy read! It kept me guessing and reading quickly to see what would happen next!
Raphael has dishonourable intentions!
Raphael goes to Sofia’s grandfather and demands he is owed, and will collect in six months. Her grandfather explains that she is payment to one Raphael Amado and he will take her on her eighteenth birthday which is also her day of graduation. Circumstances are clearly complicated and become more so when they move to Italy and new clauses are added to the marriage contract between them by her grandfather! Very good read, a bit dark and disturbing but very well put together and emotional. Look forward to Damon’s story in disgraced!
4.5 stars.
“We were all pawns in a twisted game”.
There are so many layers and twists and turns in Dishonourable. A story of revenge, debt, hate, betrayal, lies all wrapped up in the game of greed and in the midst was Sophia,18 years old, innocent, beautiful inside & out to be used as payment for a debt, not of her own.
Raphael had gone to Sophia’s Grandfather for debts unpaid to seek revenge, what he received was Sophia until she was 21 and then to claim her inheritance.
Sophia was to be married to Raphael, flown from the States to Italy away from her sister who was her closest family.
Paying for the sins of her Grandfather
But…..
The monsters aren’t always who they seem to be, the liars aren’t who you’d expect and the enemy becomes the Ali.
A gripping intense plot with a darkness that tries to extinguish the light but in the end… truth….always the truth…
“If you let the past go, maybe it will let you go”
Sophia is a likable character, smart and mature for her age, she certainly guided Raphael who was lost in the darkness of his past to the light. The dominant Alpha Consumed with hate and hurt.
The plot was cryptic at times, some sentences I found repetitive but the scenes are filled with suspense, unpredictability, lust, passion and eventually love.
A gripping recommended read.
Bats eyes at author…
Lina & Damon’s story, fingers crossed, now that story has me salivating.
Good read
“Monsters are made, not born.” ~ Unknown
Raphael Amado is a jagged man. He wants the people around him to believe that he is evil because he is scared to be exposed to more pain. He had his fair share of pain in his life so now, he wants to inflict it.
The male MC of this book is an anti- hero, therefore he is not the usual swoon-worthy and sweep-you-off-your-feet kind of man that we usually read about. No. He’s not sweet and gentle. Actually, he is the total opposite. Raphael’s a jerk, extremely cocky, and there’s a monster in him just waiting to be awaken. But you know why I fell in love with him hard? He softens and lets his guard down unconsciously some times, and for me those are his most beautiful moments. Natasha Knight was able to create an anti-hero who is difficult to hate. Forget perfect, people… because Raphael Amado will be your most favorite imperfect man. You will fall in love with every thing about him, specially after you read why he became who he is.
Sofia Guardia is soft, innocent, and young. Her pure qualities blend well with Raphael’s roughness. You’ll also genuinely feel that she is so much younger than the hero because she’s very insistent and curious. She always wants to figure things out, specially why Raphael became that man he is right now. You will be amazed by her genuine belief in people’s goodness. Her youth, chastity, and gentleness perfectly combines with Raphael’s rough and dark demeanor. She too is flawed, have been betrayed but she takes all life’s jabs positively. she’s Sophia’s very realistic and you’ll definitely love her too.
THE STORY and WRITING
I have read a few Natasha Knight books and I would proudly say that DISHONORABLE is her best work to date. I really couldn’t put my feelings coherently but let me just say that this book is one of those that you know will steal you from your reality just right after reading the Prologue. It’s HIGHLY ADDICTIVE that you won’t ever want to stop reading until you get to the end. I was so in love with the story and characters that I didn’t want it to end, but I have tons of questions that need answers… so where do I go? My heart was torn between finishing it quickly and stalling.
The story flowed very smoothly, you know like that perfect first cappuccino cup you have in the morning? That good. So damn good. Every chapter I read fit perfectly to the previous and next one. It’s the right blend of angsty, raw, and emotional. It may have a dark theme but I’m telling you… this book is for everyone– dark romance lover or not. And this is the kind of book you want to ditch even your most important deadlines for because… *screams* no words.
Lastly, when you read this book, you will notice that Natasha Knight really had it well plotted… even the story’s location. I was loitering on Pinterest the entire time I was reading because I wanted to have a full experience of the book. Most of the story happened in Tuscany, Italy in a small farming town called San Gimignano. Here are some of the places mentioned in the book, in case you’re interested.
This author took my imagination to its wildest ride this 2017. Her description of the places and events, they’re too real. The chapters played like a movie in my head, yes.. I felt very close to the story. It felt like I was really a part of it.
DISHONORABLE is a tale of betrayal, vengeance, and love. It’s one of the most gripping and touching book I have read this year. Natasha Knight has redefined romance by writing something that has so much depth in it… something that really has a story and not just your everyday sexy.
Natasha Knight knocked it out of the park with this tale of greed, revenge, betrayal, lust and ultimately love.
Looking for revenge on the person he feels wronged his family, Raphael concocts a plan of revenge and restitution . . . his prize, an arranged marriage to the lovely and innocent Sofia and her inheritance.
Not knowing what to expect, Sofia is pulled from a lonely life at boarding school to Italy, where she is forced to wed Raphael to keep her sister safe and protected. While Sofia is drawn to Raphael, she also realizes he is an extremely complex man, not only fighting issues of betrayal in his present but also demons from his past.
Sofia and Raphael are left to unravel their feelings for one another as well as the twisted plots started well before their time over land, money and power. Sofia is often left not knowing who can be trusted. Raphael is tortured by his need for revenge, where Sofia was supposed to be collateral damage, but know becomes his one true weakness.
Natasha Knight has done an amazing job of creating extremely complex characters. Both Raphael and Sofia come from harsh realities. While Sofia can see the light and the best in people, Raphael struggles to break the cycle of darkness he has always lived with. The ancillary characters in this book, especially Damon and Lina are extremely well written as well.
The plot is fast paced, twisted and complex. Just when you think you have everything figured out, a new monkey wrench appears convoluting things even further. Will love or revenge prevail? Will the past be dark enough to keep Sofia and Raphael from the future they deserve? Who can truly be trusted?
Kudos to Natasha Knight for keeping me on the edge of my seat through this entire book (which, I have to admit, I read in one sitting!) 5 stars!
