Happy book birthday to Karina Halle!!
4 stars!
The final book in The Dumonts trilogy, and Karina Halle has pulled off the almost impossible by taking series bad guy, Pascal, and not only redeeming him, but making me fall in mad love with him. A fantastic story of overcoming your past, with a gorgeous romance that left me swooning, it’s a great finish to the series, and I loved it!
For the last two books we have seen Pascal Dumont plot and scheme with his evil father to take over the family fashion dynasty. Well, now he’s got everything he ever thought he wanted, but it’s not sitting well with him. We saw a glimpse of this in the last book, but now we get to see how his and his father’s past actions have impacted on him, which had me feeling for him from the very beginning. And life is about to get even more complicated for him with the return of Gabrielle, the daughter of their family’s maid.
Gabrielle’s childhood was difficult and it only got a whole lot worse when her mother became the maid to the Dumonts. Living on the family’s property, she began working for them as a teenager, but she suffered terribly at the hands of Pascal’s father, leaving her and traumatised and emotionally scarred. She ran away when she was 18, and now eight years later she is back to seek her revenge.
With Gabrielle back in the house, Pascal immediately employs her to work with him. It’s a chemistry-filled enemies-to-friends-to-lovers setup with the two of them going head to head, but it doesn’t take long for things to begin to shift and change between them.
“Gabrielle is my key.
The key to becoming a better man.
She’s the one who is worth it.”
Their love story is so, so beautiful. It takes a while for things to start to happen, which was realistic, and when it does, it’s natural, passionate and emotional, and I loved how open they both were to just follow their hearts and go with it.
“You’re mine now. Every single inch of you is mine. That just sealed it. There is no escaping this.”
Of course it’s driven by a strong physical attraction, but there’s a beautiful bond between these two, and as they open up to each other, that only grows, and I love watching it all unfold.
“I’m not damaged goods,” she whispers, staring into my eyes with such intensity that I don’t dare move. “I’m just a little broken. Maybe I need you to put me back together again. It can’t hurt to try, can it?”
God, I hope she’s right.
And their sexual chemistry burns up the pages, super steamy of course, but also showing their intense emotional connection.
“You feel so fucking good, Gabrielle. I am all but lost to you.” He slowly pulls back out with a grown, but his eye contact doesn’t break. “I’m not sure I want to be found.”
The suspense and mystery that began in the first book continues, and we get to see the thrilling conclusion to the ‘whodunnit’ aspect of the series. It ties in so well to Pascal and Gabrielle’s individual journeys, giving us a really satisfying ending to that part of the story. The characters from the previous books also appear which provides some great closure to the series as a whole, and the epilogue finishes everything off beautifully.
But even with that big ending, for me, this book was all about the love story and it was fantastic. Fun, sexy, emotional and functional, it was a really beautiful read.
“Tell me I’m yours. I need to know it. I need to feel it.”
The words just come out.
“I’m yours.”
I loved this one – 4 stars.
Karina Halle’s storytelling ability was on full display in Disarm, with the exciting plot and the characters who were both fallible and relatable. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are energetic and colorful; the romance is seductive. I was certainly hooked from the start, as the story was fast-paced and thrilling. I also genuinely enjoyed the dynamic between Gabrielle and Pascal and the romance was certainly believable furthermore, it helped bring out Pascal’s softer side and that helped make him a more likable character in the end. The epilogue was nicely pulled together with all the main characters from across the whole series which really made for a fantastic read. Loved it. Happy reading!
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.
I was a little nervous going into this book. Throughout this series, Pascal has done things to warrant the reader to greatly dislike him. I admit that I did dislike him in the previous books. I didn’t know how well I would perceive him in this book but Karina Halle writes a good redemption story. I went from disliking him to rooting for him.
I’ve really enjoyed the characters in this series. In this book, the focus is on Pascal. I really liked getting a deeper look into him. I liked how flawed his character was. He has done some horrible things in his past and in this book we get to see behind his mask. We get to see what he thinks and feels about his actions from the past and we get to step inside his head. We get to see what makes him tick. Gabrielle was a great character as well. She has suffered trauma in her past but she is a strong character with a big heart.
I think that Pascal and Gabrielle complimented each other well. They have both experienced darkness in their pasts and it really makes them like kindred spirits. They have very palpable chemistry with one another. You couldn’t help but root for them.
The plot of this story is really solid. I really liked the build-up from the previous two books. While this is a standalone story that can certainly be enjoyed by itself, there is definitely more depth when you read all the books of this series in order. I really liked that I had no idea what was going to happen. The suspenseful aspect of this story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen.
Overall, this was a strong finish to the Dumonts series. If you enjoy steamy romance with great characters and an element of suspense then this is the series for you. I can’t wait to read what is next from Karina Halle!
What an amazing, intense and fitting ending to The Dumont Saga by Karina Halle. As if she saved the best for the last. This story pulled at my heartstrings and pushed me to the edge of emotional breakdown. Disavow is a perfect balance of sultry, suspenseful, heartbreaking and swoonworthy!
Pascal Dumont has been portrayed like a bad boy with evil intentions like his father all along but at the end of last book I could feel he has a lot more hiding under this dark aura. After “death” of his uncle and sending his cousins away to different countries with their own HEA, Pascal is running The Dumont company. And he needs a maid or personal assistant since his onld one left. Gabrielle, one of their oldest maid’s daughter takes the job after much persuasion and Pascal is immediately intrigued by her. Her sass, her smartness, her genuine way of caring and her beauty fascinates him. But she is also hiding dark secrets and Pascal is facing some terrible threats. Can they make out of this chaos alive? Can Gabrielle get her closure? Can Pascal be ever free of his monster father?
I am in love with the layers and facets of Pascal. He has never been loved by his parents. His cousins are disgusted by him. He has worked tirelessly to get control of the company but he is not even sure that he is happy with it. His father can very well be a murderer. He has the burden of everything but he is still a good guy inside. He took care of Gabrielle and he believed her and protected her. My heart swells and breaks for him! And Gabrielle is so strong! I cannot imagine her pain and suffering. But she got back on her own two feet against all odds. They have a strange camaraderie and they are fighting together against the world. Gautier had it coming since the first book. And I rejoiced for his fall!! The story has sharp twists and unpredictable turns and I was literally holding my breath in last few chapters. But it was a beautiful ending. I could not hold back tears
Karina Halle created a fantastic journey in The Dumont world. It is the world of riches, power, deception, mind games and danger. But it is also the world of love, redemption, second chances and self discovery. Disavow have the best of both worlds.
Received ARC for honest review
Wowwwww this was a quick read with so much secrets, suspense and steamy chemistry. Pascal was intriguing from all the other books and so evil so I was waiting to see what his story would have been about. Gabrielle was the maid’s daughter that had returned and Pascal was intrigued by her. She clearly didn’t put up with his bs but there was something about her that he just couldn’t put together. Gabrielle had an agenda and it didn’t include falling in love with Pascal. Pascal also didn’t expect to fall for her but there was danger lurking them and I’m not going to spoil but it was a traumatizing event for Gabrielle and Pascal was her knight in shining armor. The ending I loved you saw growth, a form of forgiveness in the Dumonts.

Can I have a hurrah for Pascal Dumont, the main character in Disavow? It takes an amazingly talented author to redeem an anti-hero, a character that had previously been so hated, distrusted, and feared in previous books, making us realize he was hiding a tortured soul underneath his armor. Disavow is the third and final book in The Dumont series featuring the Dumont brother’s offspring, and their fight to control the prestigious family empire after a mysterious death. This suspense-filled, fast paced Romance features a Keyser Soze-like character that kept me on the edge of my seat, uncertain how it would all end. After reaching the HEA ending, I was more than a little sad to say au revoir to the Dumonts!
Gabrielle Caron’s mother, Jolie, had fled from her abusive husband twelve years ago and had been hired by Gautier and Camile Dumont as the housekeeper to maison Dumont, living on the castle-like estate outside of Paris. When Gabrielle was sixteen she became Gautier’s personal maid, and she suddendly left two years later after a horrific incident. Eight years later she’s back, seeking revenge. Nothing but blood will suffice.
Pascal Dumont moved back to the estate after his divorce several years ago, taking an entire wing for himself. Gautier expected Pascal to work for him after his brother, Ludovic, had died unexpectedly and he’d inherited the company. Pascal was responsible for keeping the Dumont business running smoothly, he took over the family empire that produced luxury leather good, clothing, and cosmetics by the expensive and prestigious Dumont label. Blaise, Pascal’s younger brother, was convinced Gautier had murdered his brother in order to have control of the business and had quit and moved to Dubai recently. Pascal disliked Gautier, he had no doubt his father was ruthless and capable of murder.
When Pascal begins to find ominous and seemingly threatening letters, sent to the estate, he’s unsure who the recipient is. Under stress at work, he now needs to hire a personal maid after his previous one left unexpectedly. When Camile suggest Gabrielle, after finding out she’s back in Paris, Pascal remembers she was his father’s personal little pet. He’s aware she’s overqualified now to be his maid, and despite her reluctance to accept, he convinces her to be his personal assistant, too. Gabrielle can help his with the pesky letters that now seem to be directed towards Gautier.
Things seem to be working just as Gabrielle hoped for, she just needs to convince Jolie to leave the Dumonts, but it becomes clear Jolie has no intentions of leaving. As Pascal and Gabrielle spend more time together, and become attracted to each other, he begins to confide personal things he’s never confessed to anyone. But soon Gautier makes it clear that he wants Gabrielle back, under his control and lays down the law. But Pascal won’t let that happen, he knows his father is cruel and ruthless, despite his warnings.
“I’ve raised you so well, almost too well, to the point where you think you’re in charge of things when you’re not. You don’t have a say, son. You never will. Not as long as I’m alive. You really must learn to share. What’s yours is always definitely mine. That’s never going to change.”
There are lots of secrets and lies the Dumonts hide, some deadly, and this story is gripping and heart stopping. I was actually looking forward to seeing how revenge would be dished out, hoping it would be painful and merciless. You’ll have to read and find out how it all comes back, full circle.
Title: Disavow
Author: Karina Halle
Series: The Dumonts #3
Rating: 4.5 stars
Disavow is the final installment in The Dumonts. It can be read as a stand-alone, but in order to get everything you can out of it I suggest reading the first two books. Halle made sure this series was going to go out with a bang and boy did she deliver! If you’ve read the other books in the series, you know that Pascal is a villain and I wasn’t certain that she would be able to redeem him. But I SHOULD’VE KNOWN!!! Disavow is a thrilling story that will have you falling head over heels with the bad boy.
There were so many emotions while reading. I wanted to hate the hero but I found myself slowly but surely falling in love. I don’t want to spoil anything but I will say that Pascal’s journey to redemption was believable. Gabrielle was the perfect match for Pascal. She seriously was such an incredible character.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this story. I am so excited to see what Halle comes out with next!
I had no idea how Karina was going to nake me root for Pascal, but she somehow did it! He is a terrible person, but he found his person. Gabrielle is a strong woman and has become tough as nails. On paper Pascal and Gabrielle shouldn’t work, but they just have this pull towards each other. I loved the character story going on with both of them, we really get to see them deep down and I loved getting to know them. I loved not only their relationship storyline, but the suspense storyline as well. I was so addicted to them, especially Pascal. He isn’t a good guy, but he is a perfectly bad one. I loved this story so freaking much, the entire series actually! So obsessed!
Overall Grade:
How do you take a character who does some pretty despicable things on the page and make him sympathetic and the romantic hero of your final book in a trilogy set in the dangerous world of high French fashion? Well, you humanize him of course. You offer his psychology and you pair him with a woman who bears the strength of character to bring him to his knees. Oh, and you call yourself Karina Halle, a powerhouse of romance writing.
If you had told me that I would empathize with Pascal, the hero of Disavow, the final book of Karina Halle’s Dumonts trilogy, I would have laughed in your face and called you crazy. What Pascal got up to in the first books of this trilogy, Discretion and Disarm, was dastardly and evil, to say the least. When I attended Book Bonanza in August of last year, I asked her about the books of this series. I had just read Discretion, Olivier’s story, and I was curious about the other two books in the trilogy. When she let it drop that the third book would be Pascal’s story, I was doubtful. I knew it could be a hard sell to accept Pascal’s story. I laughed nervously with her about it and said I was intrigued. Knowing that it was coming, I saw the way in which she began to soften Pascal a bit in Blaise’s Disarm. She showed us that there was a little bit of humanity in him, but she didn’t allow him to fall deeply into it until Disavow. And to be fair, it takes a bit of the story before you can see Pascal in a different light, when you can accept him as the hero of his story. Even then, Pascal would best be designated as an anti-hero. However, it’s that designation that makes him the most interesting Dumont.
One of my favorite aspects of romance involves the alpha-aggressive hero becoming unraveled. Call it my kink, but the softening soul and heart of a seeming irredeemable man at the hands of a strong insightful heroine does something for me. I wasn’t sure if I would feel this for Halle’s Pascal, but her careful crafting of his character in this story illustrates her talent in romance writing. We shouldn’t like him, but you can’t help but fall for him. Now, to be fair, my favorite Dumont hero after reading the trilogy is still Blaise. There is just something magical about Blaise and Seraphina. However, Pascal’s redemption through the love of Gabrielle is special. It’s a reminder that love can save. The reason this works in Disavow is Halle’s ability to offer her readers Pascal’s’ psychology.
At its core, Disavow is a story of abuse. The resolution to the “mystery” of Ludovic Dumont’s death won’t be a surprise for anyone who has read the first two books of the trilogy. What becomes a bigger surprise is the depth of his brother Gautier’s evil. No one in this story has escaped his depravity. Each person’s life has been changed by his villainous actions, by his abuse, which means that his rule of terror is coming to a close. How this is dealt with in Disavow is incredibly satisfying, albeit a bit anti-climactic. However, for much of the book, the reach of his abuse of power illustrates the depth of hurt in the other characters, Pascal included. Once more is revealed about his relationship with his father, along with the revelation of Gabrielle’s story, Pascal’s humanity shows. It’s here where you will find the genius of Halle’s storytelling. We shouldn’t like him. Really. His stalking activities of Discretion and his actions against Olivier are terrible, but a humanized Pascal is one of the best things of the Dumont trilogy. Halle’s use of Gabrielle as the impetus for Pascal’s evolution shows the power of romance.
The second part of my “kink” in romance is the depth of power in a strong heroine. Gabrielle encapsulates this easily. Even in her weakness, Gabrielle is the fiercest character in the trilogy. Through her development, Halle exposes her readers to the truth and consequences of power and abuse. In Gabrielle, she gives her the power to change the story and its characters. She holds the greatest power in Disavow, and Gabrielle wields it responsibly, illustrating the determination and tenacity of women to effect change. It is ONLY because of Gabrielle that we can accept Pascal as the hero of Disavow, and it’s is the best depth of this story.
The best part of the final book of the Dumont trilogy, Disavow, is its ending. It is here where the humanity lies. It is here where we learn that relationships can heal and people can change and find their happy endings in the name of love. It is here where Halle reminds us why the genre of romance can both teach and titillate us.
Disavow is the third and final installment in The Dumonts series. And I have to say I am going to miss this total dysfunctional family. They are the elite and the rich of France. A fashion powerhouse that has been taken over by the epitome of evil and I kind of want more.
Pascal Dumont has been at the core of many bad deals and blackmail within his family. SO how was Karina Halle going to redeem him? I have to say that I love a bad boy and I want to see all his bad boy ways before he can redeem himself. With the first book I thought he was a character that I was going to continue to hate. He didn’t have one redeeming quality being written into the story. But after book 2, he was growing on me. I could see that there was a balance within him. He wasn’t all bad. And book 3 proved that.
Disavow was Pascal’s book that set him up to redeem himself. But this wasn’t all about redemption. This was him setting things straight and finding truth within the Dumont family. I don’t think he ever cared if he was the black sheep, but I think he wanted to separate himself from his father, Gautier. There are certain levels of evil and bad but he wasn’t ‘that’ bad.
And then there is Gabrielle. She has returned to the Dumont estate to assist Pascal and looking for revenge. But what happens when Gabrielle finds more than she bargained for with the Dumonts? Will she be able to go through with her plan? Or is she the woman that will redeem Pascal, change him and fail in her revenge plot?
This had a bit of enemies to lovers/office romance/forbidden romance with a side of slow burn romance. I enjoyed seeing the relationship blossom with Pascal and Gabrielle, but would I be horrible in saying that I wanted more “bad boy” Pascal? It seemed like we got a good side of him for the majority of the book and perhaps that balanced better with Gabrielle’s past, but I like seeing the bad with the good too. He’s definitely got it in spades.
“You’re awful,” I managed to say……
“I never said I wasn’t. If you believe I have an ounce of good in me, that’s on you.”
I found myself getting lost in this book and this journey of a trilogy. I enjoyed the characters and the slow burn of this particular connection. They both had an end game and what it took to get there was exciting, but I could have done with a tad more action and a bit more climax toward the middle. I wanted more suspense. But that ending? That was worth it all!
If you are ready for some ruthless characters and feeling like you’ve fallen into a Parisian Dynasty type story, dive in head first and enjoy The Dumonts. They won’t disappoint. The characters alone will make you want more. Luckily we get an epilogue that revisits our favorites.
“I didn’t think it was possible to have something, someone, other than revenge to live for.”
Disavow is such a great ending to this dark and suspenseful series.
Surprisingly there are still quite a few surprises along the way, and the biggest shock is we get to see a side to Pascal that you never ever thought was possible. All the loose ends get tied up nicely and we get a romance full of banter and passion between Gabrielle and Pascal, but with a slightly sad and emotional backstory.
The story was one that kept me interested enough to care about what happened to it’s characters and I loved all the drama, rivalry and secrets that lead to betrayal, it’s what the Dumonts were all about, they were ruthless to gain power of their family empire and didn’t care how they got ahold of it.
Brilliant storytelling as always from Katrina Halle and another amazing series to add to her already extensive back catalogue of great stories.
Karina Halle mentioned this series was inspired by Dynasty and similar soap operas, with outlandish and edgy drama. I’d say she succeeded because The Dumonts didn’t do anything by half measures.
Pascal was 100% a villain throughout the series. I thought it was interesting to see how he could turn things around. He was the perfect anti-hero with such a stained past. Gabrielle definitely took him by surprise and it was fun to see his gradual change of character.
Pascal and Gabrielle are my favourite couple of the series, they had the best interactions (not to mention steamy scenes) and character development.
Wow! Just Wow! This is the conclusion we were all waiting for! This story is filled with redemption, forgiveness, love and passion. We have danger, secrets revealed and just so much more. A suspenseful story that rivals Dynasty! I promise you will fall in love with Pascal and his evil heart will melt yours. Who knew that cold heart could actually show warmth and passion.
Gabrielle has come back for revenge, her scheme did not include Pascal being more than what he seemed. She planned for the devil and his spawn, but in a twist she gets something different, that throws her plans into a tail spin.
The conclusion of the Dumont family saga is one thrilling tale, so buckle up for the best story yet!
rom New York Times bestselling author Karina Halle comes a seductive novel of riches, romance, and redemption.

Wow! I loved every single page of Pascal’s and Gabrielle’s story. Their story will take you on a emotional journey like no other. Their story was flawlessly written. What a great read
Brilliant ending to a fabulous series.
Disavow is the third and last book in The Dumonts series by Karina Halle, it’s also the hardest book to like, never mind fall in love with the H. Pascal has been in both previous books (Discretion#1 and Disarm#2). He was not portrayed as a likable man. In fact, he was terribly easy to hate, so Ms. Halle had set herself quite the task in reversing how the reader would feel about this man. It’s hardly surprising he’s the way he is, though given the parents he has. Cold and unfeeling are the kindest words to describe those two. Evil, malicious and vindictive is more appropriate, though.
But, even in his own book, Pascal initially comes across as a little bit spoilt and entitled, until he is re-acquainted with Gabrielle Caron, a young girl from his past, who was his father’s maid and had disappeared suddenly several years before.
Gabrielle has come home after being away for eight years. She’d have stayed away forever but she’s worried about her mother and has come back to make sure she’s okay. Gabrielle has a past in this mansion that she doesn’t want to confront, but why Pascal tricks her into becoming his assistant and maid, she has no choice.
Both are struggling with the past in their own way. Pascal knows he’s done some bad things and being with Gabrielle only makes him see them for what they were. Plus, there’s all the nasty business with his father and the death of his uncle the previous year.
Gabrielle hasn’t lived the wealthy life that Pascal has, she’s see the ugly side of life and isn’t interested in starting anything with Pascal, but the more she spends time with him, the more she sees the ‘real’ man hiding in plain sight. She brought out the best in him, and their chemistry was as scorching as could be expected.
This book being the last, had the job of tying up all the loose ends and a face to face with Gautier, the true villain of the piece in every sense of the word. I enjoyed that part immensely and loved seeing Pascal reunited with his brother and cousins.
One-Click this book today, but only if you’ve read books 1 & 2 first, otherwise, indulge your bingeing and grab all three together.
“Money is our legacy. Greed is our strength. And getting what I want is where I really shine.”
Disavow is the last book in The Dumonts series, and one I have been anticipating since I finished the previous book. I have had a love/hate relationship with Pascal since I met him in the first book Discretion. He definitely wasn’t likable back then, but he kind of grew on me in the second book Disarm after I got to know him better. I love a good redemption story and I think Karina Halle did a great job with Pascal. He didn’t have an easy life, even if he is a heir to the Dumont fashion empire. His father is just pure evil and his mother never showed him any love, so him turning out the way he did was to be expected. He is struggling internally with some of his actions and when he is finally coming face to face with the consequences he needs to decide on which side he’s one. Will he follow his father’s footsteps or break free like his cousins and brother. I really like anti-heroes so it didn’t take me long to warm up to him in this series. I especially loved seeing him question everything after meeting Gabrielle and falling for her. He finally saw a different life he could have, but to get it he would have to make difficult decisions in his life.
“You have me, okay? You have me. This doesn’t end here. It continues. I told you that you were mine, and I’m yours too. I’m not backing down. I’m not letting go.”
Gabrielle comes from a complete different background and is the daughter of the head maid. She didn’t have an easy life and after very horrific and traumatic incidents she leaves and doesn’t come back for years. Why did she come back now? You’ll have to read the book to find out. I really liked her character and I loved how fierce she was. She came back stronger than ever, but was still dealing with her trauma. The interaction between Pascal and Gabrielle was sensual and she didn’t back down to him. I loved how their relationship progressed and I think they were a great fit with amazing chemistry. Pascal for the first time in his life felt like he was worth being loved. This being the last book in the series I was looking forward to the confrontation with Gautier (father of Pascal and villain of the series), which we have been moving closer to from the beginning of the series. I was expecting a bit more suspense in this book. Also there was one incident that I found unbelievable but I am not an expert so maybe it is possible, but I am not so sure (sorry for being vague, you’ll know which scene I am talking about when you get to it). Overall this was a very satisfying conclusion to the series. I especially loved the epilogue which showed the whole family together. I am definitely going to miss these amazing characters.
I loved Disavow even though Pascal was never a favorite of mine. But in this one you see a more raw and real side. I love how he is trying to set things right for the Dumont name. I love Gabrielle so much. Just her strength alone will get you. There is such genuine chemistry between Pascal and Gabrielle as she returns to work in the Dumont home. As they slowly get to know each other you see such wonderful changes in both as they heal over their pasts together. Gabrielle and Pascal just work so well together. I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. I even shed a happy tear at the end.
4.5 ‘You are my redemption’ Stars!
ARC provided via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Never thought I’d see the day that Karina Halle would make us fall in love with Pascal Dumont but that has happened! If you read the previous books in this series, I am sure you know Pascal was not the best of men. He was infamous like his father. Or is he? Will he finally open his eyes if the right woman appears in his life? If you want to find out, you have to read the conclusion of this scandalous and suspenseful series!
Disavow is the third and final installment in Karina’s The Dumonts series and, as I said, we get the story of the anti-hero: Pascal Dumont. Pascal is his father’s right hand, he is arrogant, ruthless and does not care about the consequences of his and his father’s actions. Enter Gabrielle Caron, his new personal assistant and the daughter of the Dumonts’ head maid that disappeared suddenly years ago. But she is not back to work for Pascal, she has other reasons. What these two don’t expect is the chemistry between them. Will love win or will it be darkness?
He’s got quite an unusual way of looking at you, always has. Like he can see right through you, but it’s also more than that. Like he knows all your secrets, and plans on using them against you later.
This is surely the darkest installment in the series. We are finally inside Pascal Dumont’s head and it’s not a happy place. We are able to peel the layers of his personality and get to know why he is the way he is. Is he that bad? Does he have conscience? Does he care? Gabrielle changes everything for him. But Gabrielle herself has her own demons and that demon happens to be the same one as Pascal’s. She is secretive and mysterious, she is scared but she is also strong after everything that’s happened. And Pascal cannot stop himself from wanting her.
I have this woman, and I have to wonder if this is what I’ve been missing out on my whole life.
Gabrielle has plans, plans that involve getting herself and her mother out of the Dumonts’ house. But not without getting what she wants first. But she falls in love with Pascal in the process and that changes things. Their connection and chemistry is beautiful and explosive and that is stopping her plans. Revenge is a very strong force and it makes its way in. Things get dark towards the end and Disavow is not easy to read at times but it’s definitely worth it.
She wanted to fix me? Well, she has. She has made me become the person I needed to be, the person I was always afraid to be.
Therefore, I am rating Disavow with 4.5 STARS because Karina did a wonderful job with the final book in her Dumonts’s series. Pascal’s redemption was everything I expected and so much more. Do I dare say he is my favorite of the Dumonts? Pascal’s back story, Gabrielle’s demons and the strong connection between them make this book such an exhilarating read. It surely gets intense but I am so glad these two found each other! I quite enjoyed this series and if you enjoy suspense, sexiness and emotions running high, you should check these books out!

Holy cow, I was waiting to see how Pascal could redeem himself, if at all. Getting inside his head and heart, watching him come to the point where he could be redeemed, was so great. This final book in the series ended with a bang and it was so enjoyable.
Gabrielle, left the Dumont estate years ago after horrible situations with Pascal’s father. Her mother, the Dumont’s maid, stayed behind. Now Gabrielle is back and ready to seek revenge and save her mother in the process. She planned on it being a quick trip but then when she takes the job as Pascal’s maid/personal assistant, she quickly realizes she needs to adjust her plans.
Working so closely to Pascal, she realizes what kind of man he really is. Pascal is quickly fascinated by Gabrielle and feels the ice surrounding his heart, thawing. He learns that he doesn’t have to end up like his father and more importantly, he doesn’t want to end up like him.
I loved watching these two come together as unlikely allies as their chemistry and connection grow stronger. This was such a great redemption story and the epilogue was the perfect ending to the series.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
