Disastrous Dates: The Complete Collection is a bundling of four novellas that were originally published as a serial, and includes the following titles:
The Date Maker
Meet Your Match
The Grudge Match
The Maker’s Match
more
An enjoyable collection of four short stories woven in a series. These four stories are all interlinked and bounce back and forth, if not happen at the same time as one another in an alternative way of dating. These lighthearted fun stories have the couple going thru ups and down with twists and turns as they stumble through various forms of disastrous 1st sets of dates. The characters are interesting, realistic and capable of change and growth thru college age situations of dating setups. It is well written thru multiple POVs. I voluntarily listened and reviewed this ARC that had great storytelling thru narration. I love the voice variations as each character is brought to life with depth and emotion given to each.
When Declan’s bad flirting skills turn into a huge misunderstanding with the Date Maker Morgan Jones it turn into a battle between the two and disastrous dates for all of Morgan’s matchups. Will they be able to get past their horrible first meeting? And will Morgan be able to save her Matchmaking business?
The four books were really light and fun to read/listen to. I felt that I toggled between not really liking the side characters all that much, to ok I can deal with them. I really didn’t have a strong like for any of them until the final book. I felt like the two girls weren’t really the most supportive of friends and were quite shallow. Since the characters were all college age – and let’s face it we still aren’t the most mature the -I don’t feel like that took away from the story as much as it could have. The series is a clean read that is perfect for YA/New Adult readers.
The first book (The Date Maker) is an intro into Morgan and her matchmaking scheme. Books 2 (Meet Your Match) & 3 (The Grudge Match) are two set ups gone horribly wrong, and although they are two separate books they are happening during the same time frame. The final book (The Maker’s Match) is the conclusion of what happened between Declan and Morgan.

The audio performance by Sabrina Schloss was very well done, and I look forward to finding other narrations by her.
It’s my first time listening to Sabrina Schloss and I have to say I enjoyed the way she presented the book. I got so involved in the story that I almost forgot the narration, which I know is an odd thing to say but I don’t know how else to explain it!
I really enjoyed this book, it’s like watching a disaster movie, you know it’s gonna happen but you have to watch anyway. It made me chuckle so many times with the things that happened. I would say it’s a lovely light listen. The characters are great and I loved watching how what happened to them changed them and their attitudes. A really enjoyable listen.
* I have read the entire collection, but this is review for the very last book in the series.*
This is such a sweet, light, romantic, and quick read. I definitely recommend it!
The Maker’s Match is the final book in the Disastrous Dates series. I would recommend reading the books in order as characters from the previous three books show up. The cameos are definitely fun and funny!
Morgan and Declan are extremely likable and extremely stubborn characters. I think you start rooting for them in the very first book. This was the absolute best way to end the series and leave the reading audience with a smile on our faces. The mistakes, tension, and attraction are all vey well written and enjoyable. It was extremely satisfying to see all this chemistry come out and be such a great ending.
Add this to your “Must Read” list!
