Love–on the rocks…. The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that come with her. Lydia Green doesn’t know whether to scream or cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it’s with his best man is another … it’s with his best man is another thing all together.
Just when this runaway bride has nowhere left to turn, a handsome stranger offers her a broad, muscular shoulder to cry on. Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessmen she’s normally drawn to. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and is facing his own crossroads. But Lydia’s already tried Mr. Right and discovered he’s all wrong–maybe it’s time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.
After all, what’s wrong with getting dirty?
Dirty is the first book in the Dive Bar series from bestselling author Kylie Scott.

The story hooked me from the beginning. Lydia, run away bride, meets Vaughn, a man returning to his past. Together they weave an interesting tale. Kylie Scott knows how to turn up the heat and touch the heart
I listened to this on audio and it’s a great listen!
Hot Rock Star Story worth the purchase
This was the last book that made me laugh out loud. Unfortunately after the laughter died which was at the beginning of the book there wasn’the much to the story. Disconnected characters with an unrealistic ending. Between 2 and 3 stars.
Just absolutely BRILLIANT !!
EVERYTHING Kylie Scott writes is Magic….and Dirty is no exception.
I could not get enough of it ,reading Vaughan and Lydia’s romance started in an unconventional and very awkward way…and as they become unexpected friends,it turns into friends with benefits and then something more.
Which doesn’t go down well with Vaughan as he doesn’t plan on staying in town, he wants to pursue his dream in California. He didn’t expect to have his dream change when Lydia crashes into his life, her own life being a mess. One day she was getting married and the next she wasn’t after discovering the groom cheating on her.
They seem to find some solace within eachother and I really loved these characters Kylie introduces us too.All of the Dive Bar Crew are amazing and their stories are intriguing me.
I LOVED this book it is magnificent and kept me entertained from start to end,I cannot wait for the other 2 books in this series.
I Highly recommend it.
5 Stars.
Listened to this on Audiobook and it was a great story with great narration.
When I’m in a reading slump, I love to reach for a Kylie Scott novel. Her heroes are amazing. They are sweet and sexy, but also protective without being possessive. Vaughan is another great example of a hero who is swoonworthy without being a jerk. In fact, in this case, Lydia was the one objectifying him and initiating things. I loved that so much. There is also plenty of emotions and connections between our main couple. I also enjoyed the cameo by Mal. He is always tons of fun. I highly recommend listening to this on audio because Andi Arndt is incredible and her male voice is hot!
A fun read that made me laugh.
Couldn’t put this one down it was so entertaining.
Love love love this story!! So recommend it! It is funny, hot, romantic. You will not be disappointed. It is a total five star. Love Kiley Scott!!!
This my second book by this author and I feel a reading binge coming on! Great humor, loved the chemistry between all of the characters and the story flowed so well that I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait to read the next book!
Loved Vaughan and Lidia, Really great characters. Terrific turn on runaway bride. But then I love everything Kylie Scott, one of my favorite authors.
I absolutely love it.
Loved the entire Dive Bar series!
Vi Keeland once again led me on an emotional journey that swept me up and held me captive. This is a story of Luca and Griffin who became pen pals in second grade. An ocean separates them, but that doesn’t quail their deep connection or strong friendship until the letters quit coming without explanation. An emotional tale of a strong bond that can’t be reciprocated, but a deep longing for more.
A 5 Star Must Read *****
This is the first book in a new series that is a spin-off of the Stage Dive Series. Vaughan was part of the band who opened up for Stage Dive on tour and we first met him in Deep. Lydia is running from her wedding after finding out her groom is having an affair with his best man. She ends up hiding out in Vaughan’s house. This book is close to insta-love, they are instantly attracted and feelings develop pretty quickly. There is a lot of drama and not all of it involves the cancelled wedding. I really enjoyed this one and would recommend it.
I thought this book was great! Hilarious, witty and super charming! The characters are very relatable and realistic. I thought it was an excellent book!
Lovely ending — wouldn’t reread, but great quick read
This story starts out with Lydia basically finding out the worst new possible on her wedding day. I was giggling non stop witnessing her escape plan and the events that followed right afterwards. Vaughn is one swoon worthy musician and although this has that rockstar romance feel there was so much more then that too. Working at the Dive Bar is not where you’d expect to find yourself when your dreams are set in a particular path but everyone happens for a reason and these characters learn that in an unusual way. Great read and I can’t wait to jump on book two.
Vaughan was an interesting character who I liked when reading Deep, the last book in the Stage Dive series. His character was not at all what I anticipated. I have to say that there is something I love about the heroine Kylie Scott writes. Lydia was a very fun character that I felt for. The way she ran out on her wedding was beyond comical and unbelievable, but can’t say I blame the girl. She is sweet and I like how she and Vaughan become friends.
The best part of reading Dirty was the time where it seemed like Vaughan and Lydia were in their own bubble in Vaughan’s childhood home. Lydia and Vaughan both shares deep parts of themselves with each other and become close in a way that makes being friends impossible. The way Vaughan wanted Lydia was so damn hot. He didn’t care if she had a little fat or wasn’t skinny. He wanted her just the way she was and showed her there wasn’t nothing about her she needed to hide or be ashamed of. It was seriously everything(insert happy sigh).
Dirty was a fun read and one of the better ones that I enjoyed by Kylie Scott. Vaughan’s character was not what I expecting his character to be or act. But I think I ended liking this soft, considerate, caring, and understanding man that he was. I would have liked to see a bit of the rocker side of him, but I’ll live.
