Everything I have come to expect from a Chelse Bliss book. Loved it
This was a great down to earth romance. If you are looking for an instant chemistry connection that is of course fought from the beginning, and you know will somehow work by the end. Then, this is a must read for you!!
Good read
Very hot with some humor thrown in
Enjoyed the read. Great characters.
Although this book is a romance, the true nature of a political campaign is evident.
Favorite Quotes:
I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to resist you.
With you, everything is so much more.
Reagan hasn’t changed me, except to make me a better man.
My Review:
Two swoon-worthy political opponents meet while battling each other on the campaign trail and feel an instant attraction that they clandestinely explore, indulge, and hide from even their own staffers. The thrill of the forbidden, unearthing deeply hidden secrets, dirty political tricks, and the risk of being exposed to their voting public all add to the mix. Was the budding relationship and teasing just for campaign trail thrills or could it be more? Can either candidate be trusted – or are they just playing each other? Remarks are made that could be used either way. The premise of Dirty Work was relevant and timely. The writing was engaging and entertaining as well as deliciously steamy, but the characters were the best part of this piece – they were well drawn, realistic, alluring, endearing, and people I would want to know.
Another Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert favorite! This book is steamy, funny, sweet, and angsty. And the narrator’s flow so perfectly together that I could listen forever. Reagan and Jude meet as they campaign for US senator. Both instantly feel an undeniable attraction to each other but know that it can’t be acted on. But its getting harder and harder to ignore. Fate steps in but not without obstacles along the way. You will without a doubt be swept up into this sexy read!
I had a hard time getting into it in the beginning. Once you get to the halfway mark it takes off. If you hang in there I promise it is worth your while. Titan is swoon worthy. He isn’t cocky though, which makes you love him and he has a compassionate side. Reagan seems like just a puppet, but she is just full of surprises. She also has two sides. Overall I thought it was good, I think it could have had more depth and emotion
I absolutely loved this book! The characters were so easy to relate to and I found myself cheering on their budding romance from the very beginning. I loved the political aspect of the book as well and I think that just added to the story and made it even better. You will fall in love with Jude and Reagan and their chemistry is enough to make your Kindle catch fire! I highly recommend this book and any books by Chelle Bliss!
I loved how the characters are made to relate to real life. Jude and Reagan fight their feelings for each other throughout this story but in the end nature takes control.
5 It’s a Landslide Victory Stars!!!
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I heard about this book, but what I got, was a great read that was funny, and enthralling and hot as all get out!! Jude and Reagan are opponents running for the Senate in the great state of Illinois. Reagan comes from a strong political background as her father was also a politician as it’s a given she’s going to follow in her father’s footsteps. Jude on the other hand is a war vet who believes in running for the right reason and helping the people. What neither of them ever considered is that they may be attracted to their opponent.
This is where the story gets SO GOOD. What starts as a flirtation blossoms into so much more. I loved how this book written in a dual POV and I seriously couldn’t tell which author wrote which chapter. I was so enmeshed in the story that I just kept turning the pages to see what happened next.
These two together are so much better than they are apart. They balance each other which is something that Reagan and Jude really needed. The fact that she’s expected to do this rather than wants to do this really tugged at my heart. To feel that kind of pressure has to be so tiring. Jude on the other hand is dealing with a lot of PTSD from his time in the war. This has an effect on him emotionally and physically along with what drives some of his campaign promises. There’s a very poignant part of the book that literally had tears streaming down my face. When Reagan finds out about it, it changes her view of Jude and in a good way!
As would be expected in a book that’s driven around politics there’s not a shortage of zingers and things coming out of the closet. And WOW is all I can say when this stuff happens… totally didn’t see it coming, but it was just what Reagan needed to make a life altering decision.
This is a book that is a MUST READ for any fans of Ms. Bliss and/or Ms. Rothert. It’s well written, gets you engaged from the get go and doesn’t disappoint in delivering a phenomenal story!
I really enjoyed this book. Chelle Bliss writes such a wonderful book. The characters flowed great together. The chemistry was chat topper.
Jude is running for Senator speaking for vets. Reagan is running for Senator also. These two are running on opposite sides of the political race. They seem to find themselves together often but can enemies find love together or be separated forever?
I really enjoyed this book!! I liked that it’s told in both POV’S.Reagan and Jude have great chemistry between them!! Great Book!!!
As an Illinois registered voter, I would vote for Jude Titan 100%!!
Brenda and Chelle joined forces to write the perfect, seamless, political romance that will make every woman want to get more involved in any government race. They combined wide spread political views, issues, and party differences in the best way possible; throw in some hot sexual tension, family corruption, and a meddling campaign manager and you have a senate race that will go down in history!
I read Dirty Work in one sitting. I could not and would not put it down. It was so engrossing and I needed to see what was going to happen. Jude was just the most perfect man. He was dirty, naughty, dominant and a gentleman. He had integrity and honor in spades and so much more. Reagan was a very strong woman and raised to be honorable and have integrity as well and to be the voice of others. When these two are pitted against each other sparks fly and panties melt.
I haven’t loved a male character like this in a while. He pushed all my buttons without being overt in his dominance. This was an amazing read and a really fast one for me as soon as I got into it. It was just so hard to put down. These authors had a great flow and I couldn’t tell whose voice was whose. The characters were complex and full of life. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves a book full of sexual tension and sexy scenes.
I’ll be the first to admit I’m an ALFA PI addict, a Men of Inked whore, an now I struggle with how to handle the fact that I adore a Chelle Bliss book that does not include a single Gallo or even my beloved James Caldo.
Dirty work is a standalone, and yes I remember there are two authors here!! I am not familiar with Brenda Rothert’s work but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this collaboration. The story is told in alternating POV’s between the hero Jude and heroine Reagan.
Both running for the same office on opposing sides they initially don’t mesh but it doesn’t take them long to get acquainted.
They quickly find their attraction to each other is undeniable and struggle first to accept it and second to ignore it.
Good luck with that!
There are secret rendezvous, snarky attitudes, devious campaign managers, one dirty old man and family secrets. All that on top of struggling to keep their distance and try to get elected makes for a fast paced, highly entertaining read.
Amazing amd wonderful, fast pace read from start to finish. The authors have done an amazing job writing these characters and maming them shine was just as amazing. I couldn’t get enough of this story, each page I just wanted more and more. This is a MUST READ STORY!!!! so worth every word every letter. It’s that good I cant give any spoilers whatsoever, just have to read it.
***I received this story for free in exchange for an honest review***
I couldn’t get enough of Jude & Reagan. What happens when opposites attract? Jude and Reagan are fighting for the Senate seat but both want to campaign honestly but others have another idea. They never thought they would be attracted to each other and feel the spark they do, but when skeleton comes out of the closet can Reagan believe what she has with Jude was real or did he use her to take her out? Love Jude & Reagan together, their banter back and forth and their connection was smokin hot. I hope Chelle & Brenda collaborate again because I couldn’t get enough of this book
Jude is a man of honor and integrity. Reagan is a woman who thinks she knows what she wants. They are not looking for love. They are political rivals. There connection is instant. Both know what they could lose . If they follow there passion for each other. Who will win in the end. Loved Alex’s. Hated Tom and Carl. Can’t wait to read more from both authors.
