His mouth is hot enough to melt the iceTen days. That’s all I’m asking for. But not one of my NHL teammates is willing to cough up a sister, cousin, or trusted friend to play my fake girlfriend for this wedding.Pucking BS. Yeah, my mouth has been known to get me into places I don’t belong. But this Class Five panty melter is on lockdown because the last thing I need is another complication.I’m … another complication.
I’m about to give up when fate delivers the answer to my prayers.
I’m not her type.
She doesn’t date jocks.
All this sharp, sexy over-achiever wants is a little fun, an escape from her career driven life.
It’s a simple arrangement. So why am I complicating it?

Mira Lyn Kelly gives us Wade and Harlow, and they are truly #couplegoals. These two are perfect for each other. What starts out as a fake relationship quickly and organically morphs into a real relationship that they both want. Harlow sees herself as almost inadequate because of the way she was raised. She is constantly striving for the love and affection of her father. Wade has grown up the complete opposite with parents who even though they wish he took a different path in life support him 100%. There are a couple of moments that you want to cringe, not because of the hero and heroine, but because of the side characters and the completely despicable people that they are. Wade is such a sweetheart, and can see that Harlow likes him for him, and not what he represents. She never strokes his ego, which is almost a side character in itself, but not in a cocky way. Harlow is one of the most caring people in the world, which after you read how she was raised you wonder how that was even possible. These two are magic together, and Wade is truly a book boyfriend to have.
Each book in this series somehow manages to top the last and Dirty Talker was no exception! I absolutely loved how both Wade and Harlow went into the fake date so sure that neither would catch feelings for the other, but then of course that changed really fast and it was Wade who decided to peruse a real relationship. He did everything to try and convince Harlow to give them a real chance even resorting to “being the bunny.” The whole time he was doing that it was hilarious and Harlow’s reaction to it made it even better! These two despite being so different were so perfect for each other and getting to see them realize it and embrace it was beautiful. And the bonus epilogue was EVERYTHING so if you read this book make sure and read it afterwards!
I loved this book! So fun! No annoying misunderstandings, just 2 people starting with a fake relationship and falling in love. They were great and so was his family. I love this series and I’m excited to read the next book!
Wade is looking for a date to take to a wedding, he just needs ten days. Harlow turns out to be his saving grace as she agrees to attend the wedding with him. Harlow is looking for a way out of her situation. Wade is looking for an uncomplicated way to deal with the wedding date without getting tied up with a woman. Problem is he didn’t count on catching feelings for Harlow. A sexy, fun read that I recommend.
I love all of Mira Lyn Kelly’s Slayers Hockey series but I must say this one might just be my favorite! Wade is such an amazing guy! Harlow agrees to be his fake date to his brothers wedding. Ten days with Wade’s family and Harlow realizes all the things she has been missing in her life. Her narrow focus on her career. Harlow never really knew what a loving family looked like and it was a real eye opener. Such a great love story. So many feelings for these two! A fantastic read!
Dirty Talker is definitely a feel good book to me, a fake relationship story with plenty of potential, turning into something more very quickly but somehow didn’t feel rushed. It didn’t disappoint!
Harlow is focused on her career and oblivious to what is really going on and not looking for a relationship. Losing up a little is not easy for her and too serious at times to enjoy life but she is witty, fun and bubbly, especially with that sexy and too charming hockey player. She was so funny at times and endearing. A mix of cuteness and strength.
Wade is unexpected, a breath of fresh air. A man close to his family, focusing on his career as well and looking for a woman who would be willing to be his fake girlfriend for a week. Totally crazy but when there’s that little something in the air, even though he was the only one to really feel it, it was kinda hilarious. Because Harlow was not falling for his charms and clueless about him or his world. So refreshing!
The story went smoothly, as the main characters managed to play the fake couple so naturally and took time to learn about the other. I appreciated their easy banter, their smoking hot chemistry and the way they could make me smile so hard it hurts. Even if their story started on false pretenses it didn’t make it less real. It was genuine, hot, passionate and sincere.
I enjoyed the progress of the storyline, when the main characters really learn about the other, showing their part of vulnerability that no one would see.
There was no miscommunication and they were always honest about how they felt. Really appreciated it.
They are moving, insanely cute, the fire they make and the dirty talks… le freaking sigh. I adored them so much.
Wade’s family was hilarious and I definitely want to be part of it. Welcoming and down to earth, embracing Harlow onto the family.
I was totally hooked from the beginning until the end, rooting for these two! I swooned, I giggled, laughed tons for sure. Oh my, the butterflies!!
It was a delightful read! Just loved it!
I love Wade & Harlow! Wade needs a date for his brother’s wedding but none of his teammates on the Slayers hockey team will let him “borrow” their sisters or any other female family member. He is frustrated but then comes Harlow. She is upset after not getting a promotion and is ready to show the big boys at work that she belongs in her office. Harlow didn’t know who Wade was, just that he was a jock that she met when she went out with one of her friends from work. This was such a fun addition to the Slayers series.
This is book 4 in the Slayers Hockey series and in this story we get to know Slayer newbie, Wade and a new character, Harlow. It is very much an opposites attracting, friends to lovers and faking a relationship story during Wade’s younger brothers wedding in his small town.
Wade has a wedding to go to and he needs a girlfriend. But he is not dating anyone and he doesnt have anyone who can play the part until he meets Harlow at a bar one night. He convinces her to play his girlfriend and off they go to his hometown.
This story was absolutely wonderful. Wade is a really awesome guy. He loves hockey so much and all his dreams are coming true but he is lonely. Harlow was the more complicated story in this romance. She works extremely hard at her bank job and her dad is super critical of her and she is on a 2 week vacation after losing out on a promotion. So she figures why not help Wade out? And so starts their very fun adventure.
This was an awesome story and I enjoyed this book so much. I loved how into Harlow Wade was and I loved how Wade’s family opened their doors and hearts to her. She is just as lonely and she feels like she can never make her father happy and so I loved how Wade’s parents are so giving with her.
This book had romance, hot scenes, laughter and a glittery mess. It easily can stand alone and its a story you won’t want to miss.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I LOVE Wade. Damn, but he’s such a sweetheart. Okay, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way…! “Dirty Talker” is yet another fantastic book from Mira Lyn Kelly. The story centers on Wade and Harlow, two people who meet by coincidence, make an agreement on a whim, and find themselves falling for the last person they ever imagined. Wade needs someone to accompany him on a trip home for his brother’s wedding. Harlow needs to convince herself that she can step out of the mold she’s been forced into. Neither of them are looking for a relationship, but as they spend more time together they realize that they just may have found someone special. This book has all the hallmarks of a Mira Lyn Kelly story. The characters are interesting, the story wraps around you and draws you in. And there is plenty of great dialogue, lots of emotion and some seriously sexy times. I have to admit, I was a goner for Wade from the first scene. The way he dealt with his buddies and their teasing just did me in. And then, when I found out just why he was so intent on bringing a woman home with him, well… He was just such a sweetheart. I highly recommend “Dirty Talker” as well as the rest of the series.
•Dateless Meets Good Girl•
This was so good, I absolutely loved everything about Harlow and Wade!
Harlow is a sweet, career driven woman looking for approval when she meets the incredibly hot, hockey player Wade, who is seeking a fake girlfriend to bring home for his brothers wedding.
I loved the way these two are around each other and the build up that takes place between them. It wasn’t hot and heavy right off the bat and I think it fit perfectly, especially with Harlow’s personality. Wade had me swooning hardcore for him, I just loved everything about his chapters!
I really enjoyed all aspects of this book. Wades family was so fun to read and see Harlow interact with them, there’s great moments of humor mixed in and the hot and steamy times were so perfect!
An overall fantastic read, would highly recommend it!
Stick a fork in me, I’m done. Melted into a big ol’ puddle of goo.
That was everything I love about a fake relationship… on steroids.
Gah!
Wade and Harlow were super amazing.
Grady was genuinely a good guy, sexy, reliable, fun and just the right amount of dirty. Lordy, the way I’m feeling right now about a fictional character is downright shameful.
Harlow, well, she was a bit uptight at first but he soon changed that.
Their chemistry was electric, their banter was fun. And when they finally threw their previous arrangement out the window , It. Was. FIRE.
I really envied the way that they stuck together when things got rough. They didn’t bail, they didn’t hide, they endured.
It short, but it’s so, soooo good.
Oh, and do yourself a favour – get the bonus scene. It’s über cute!
5 Stars wasn’t enough to represent the terrific characters and brilliant writing.
This book should come with strong and serious warnings.
Have you ever read a book that pulls you in from the start, has you totally consumed … to a point where you’re snarling at anyone (… and I mean A.N.Y.O.N.E.) who interrupts you, and one that leaves you in the worst book hangover you’ve ever had?
…. Dirty Talker by Mira Lyn Kelly was all that and more for me. 5 Stars wasn’t enough to represent the terrific characters (both familiar and new) and how well the book was written.
If you haven’t read one of Mira Lyn Kelly’s Slayers Hockey books, you can start with Dirty Talker because Ms. Kelly is a super talented and creative writer. Yes, Dirty Talker is book #4 of the Slayers Hockey series, but it’s so well written that one can read as a standalone … BUT another warning needs to be issued. If you start with Dirty Talker, you’re going to want to download all the the other Slayers books … and then her other books … and you’ll fall back into that “I’m READING” snarl to keep everyone away so you can binge!
Harlow and Wade have become my favorite Mira Lynn Kelly couple. The pair are very well developed as main characters. Wade is at the tipping point in his NHL career where he’s starting to believe he’s in the league to stay. Harlow has been passed over for promotions despite the deep contributions that she’s making … all at a hurt that is nearly too deep to imagine.
They both fall into the fake romance for differing reasons, all of which are quickly thrown out the window as they stop fighting the chemistry and attraction. They both have career challenges, yet differ on family. Wade is neck deep with family and friends who support him, while Harlow has been on her own for as long as she can remember. Dirty Talker is appropriately titled … Wade’s raw honesty and willingness to voice his feelings had me highlighting most of his dialogue. … and another cheer for Ms. Kelly’s writing is that the chapters switch up the POV so you always know what each of my favorite characters are thinking.
Nobody writes raw dialogue like Ms Kelly ….and in Dirty Talker she’s taken it to a whole new level. As Harlow starts to think about getting on board with Wade’s powerplay to make her a permanent part of his life, she starts to realize that she’s been missing out on more than she ever knew.
“Be the bunny” … Familiar characters from Slayers series are supporting characters in Dirty Talker … and the advice they give to Wade is brilliant … and the scene where he puts it in motion had me checking to make sure my eReader wasn’t on fire!
“…because I never f**ing quit. Yea, I got here. But if I let up for even a minute, I wouldn’t be here” and “If you want something work at it. If you don’t get it, work harder” … These two passages really brought home how brilliant Ms. Kelly is at characters. While at first Wade and Harlow seem worlds apart, they both work harder than anyone around them and don’t quit. In a scene that I’ve re-read about 8 times, Wade nearly brought me to my knees when he not only recognized Harlow’s commitment towards her goal, but was willing to sacrifice and support her, even when he was afraid of the outcome
I could go on and on and on … but I’ll end this so you can download … with the advice that you immediately start muttering that you really don’t feel well … and then settle in for a fabulous read.
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
Mira Lyn Kelly
Wade was such an amazing guy!! He was smart, kind, sweet, and loyal. Wade needed to find a date for his brother’s wedding that was coming up and after a horrible day at the job Harlow volunteers. Harlow is a hard worker, is out to prove herself to her dad, doesn’t date jocks, and is incredibly smart. She doesn’t stand up for herself too much and tends to stay in her own head, but for an escape she decides helping Wade is just what she needs. These two act like the perfect couple then attraction and chemistry come into play making it hard for them to determine what is acting and what is real. Can Wade help Harlow see her worth and make her his? Can Harlow learn to let go and find her happiness within herself and Wade? I loved Wade so much he was perfect book boyfriend material and I loved Harlow but at times when she fought against her own happiness and stayed in her own head, she was tad annoying. I couldn’t stand Kelsey and knew she was borderline psychotic with her attraction to Wade and they way she was always coming on to him even when he would set the record straight was infuriating. This was a cute and fun read with amazing characters throughout and I can’t wait for more.
This is the 4th book in this amazing series and is Wade and Harlow’s story. Wade is looking for a fake girlfriend to attend his brother’s wedding with him, and when he meets Harlow in a bar with friend’s she volunteers to go with his as his date. Harlow is a career orientated overachiever who always sticks to the rules, and needing a break, she convinces herself it is only for 10-days. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and what happens when fake feelings turn into more? This is a well written story which is sweet, fun, heartwarming, entertaining, humorous, and with emotions and witty banter, which all leads to a steamy and all-consuming page turner, with engaging and relatable characters. I was completely enthralled throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
So I’ve got to say if you’re looking for a feel-good, no drama, funny, sweet and sexy banter and amazing chemistry between main characters look no further THIS is the book for you.
I think I found my favorite guy by Mira Lyn Kelly. I mean it is impossible not to fall head over heels in love with Wade. That man is everything and if he was real I would give Harlow a run for her money. Speaking of Harlow : I adore her. She was quirky, funny and had a huge heart. The way she stood by him and for their relationship made my heart beat a bit faster because they were made for each other.
I’m a huge fan of the author and she just cemented herself on my one-click buys.

Right has a way of going left real quick, when faced with a smooth talker like Wade Grady. Kelly is back with her best bad boy yet. Dirty Talker is an irresistible heartbreaker that keeps readers craving more. From swoon-worthy to unpredictable, Wade and Harlow take the fast track to stealing hearts. A tempting whirlwind of sassy, spicy and captivating fun.
I’m a long-time fan of Mira Lyn Kelly so believe me when I say she has outdone herself with Dirty Talker.
Harlow and Wade have this insane chemistry that explodes from the pages starting chapter one and keeps going strong throughout the book.
And Wade Grady… OMG, that man is just a dirty-sweet dream come true.
Also, I may have the biggest girl-crush on Harlow; I can’t recall the last time I read such a well-written female character.
Dirty Talker is the fourth book in the Slayers Hockey series by Mira Lyn Kelly. I am in love with this team of hot, hilarious, and shameless flirts and the women who bring them to their knees. You can read each book as standalone but I recommend reading the series since they all have their unique stories.
Wade is desperate for a date to his brother’s wedding. But it’s not only a few hours. It’s a ten-day affair to his hometown. A small-town full of expectations. He just wants to borrow a teammate’s sister, cousin, friend, anyone who won’t be a stage five clinger or take out a kidney in his sleep. He is a good guy but no one is willing to go with his plan until her. A woman who he has only seen a few times without conversation until fate stepped into a club. He knows she is perfect since she doesn’t even want him which is a hit to his ego but good for his plan. He doesn’t have time for distractions so why does he want to cause trouble only a few days in? He is so fucked.
Harlow can’t believe she volunteered to be his fake date. It’s so unlike her but she had the time off and wanted to have some fun for once in her life. She should probably remember his name or know what sport the man played first and she was an amazing student. She could do this. Study him. Easy, right? He wasn’t even her type. Tall, hot, abs for days, sweet, and plays hockey? Yeah. That’s not sexy at all. Nope. Not. At. All. Ten days of fun was promised but she had no idea how much she would enjoy him.
It’s unexpected. It all is. Two strangers playing their part. Two people learning each other. Two people who need it to end come Monday.
Omg! I love Wade and Harlow. They are hilarious, sexy, and so much fun. And yes, unexpected. Of course, there is more to their story than just fun. There is a reason why he truly needed a date. Reason for her to get out of her head. I loved it all. I can’t wait for the next book. I never want this series to end.
P.S. Make sure to get the bonus epilogue!
Quotes:
“If you want to make a point, now seems like a really good time to do it.”
I shouldn’t. I know better. But— “You want to pull the pin on this grenade?”
She nods, one brow arched. “Think you can handle it?”
“Be the bunny, dude.”
From the second I peeked into the front room of the suite this morning and found him reading in bed, bare-chested, hair in such sexy disarray it was impossible to see it without imagining my fingers in it, my brain has been off.
Twitchy.
Twisting every innocent act into a moment rife with dirty potential.
Dirty Talker is the fourth book in the Slayers Hockey series by the talented Mira Lyn Kelly. I’m loving this series with these sexy hockey players and the women they fall hard for. This is Wade Grady’s story! Oh man, I love this man. He’s strong, smart, and sexy, but he’s also a good guy. He’s nice and funny and has a dirty mouth. He’s the perfect man. Will whisper sweet nothings in one ear then dirty thoughts in the other. Yes, please! Wade is going home for a week for his brother’s wedding and he needs a no strings date. Just someone to pretend to be his girlfriend and nothing more. No one will help him find someone, but one night, one just comes to him. Kind of. A few too many cocktails and Harlow agreed to go to the wedding with Wade. But she can’t do that. She’s not spontaneous and the details are a little fuzzy. When she tries to back out, Wade is actually nice about it and she can’t say no. So off she goes. With this sexy hockey player. It will be fine. She can just pretend and that’s it. Until she starts to notice his muscles and his smile and his everything. They have to practice touching, that will be easy. They have to get comfortable being near each other. Easy peasy. Wade didn’t expect to be attracted to Harlow. There’s just something about her buttoned up clothes and her aloofness that he loves. She’s not a bunny and it’s refreshing. But one real taste of her and he’s not sure he’s pretending anymore. Will he be able to convince Harlow to try for real or have to let her go? Oh boy! Wade is so swoony! I had to many favorite scenes, but “be the bunny” was on the top of the list. I love how fun he was. How easy going. But he’s smart and complicated too! Harlow just need to relax and get a different perspective on her life. She didn’t mean to fall for him, but she did! I loved watching them slowly fall for each other and let their guards down and just be with each other. Overall, I loved every word and it’s my favorite of the series. Can’t wait for more from the Slayers!
GAH! These two were FUN & HOT!!
I wanted to start the new year reading something I was guaranteed to make me giddy and even tho I read this story back when it released, I didn’t have a firm grasp on the details (I read a lot kids lol) but I knew I loved it. I was not wrong! Love is probably not a strong enough word because Everything made me giddy. The storyline was a fresh and unique take on the over-used fake relationship trope. The leads have chemistry for days and both possessed a level of charisma that sucked me into their vortex and made me want to jump into the story and just be their friend! The conflict in the story was easy and manageable and did not over-shadow the energy of their journey nor did it make my eyes roll (that one is huge lol). Even tho once I began to really get into the story, it all came back to me in detail, I continued to read until 2 am because it is that FUN!!
I’m not sure why I didn’t review this story back in March of 2021 when it released *shrug* (sometimes I read thru a bunch of books and just forget to review lol) but it is a rare day when I meet a Mira story I don’t want to scream from the rafters about. This woman is talented and pours everything she’s got into her writing. I’ve personally met Mira and consider her a friend and I can tell you with 100% certainty that her personality is all over her stories. She is greatness all around! If you haven’t met her word wizardry, you are missing out, so go do the thing!
