His mouth is hot enough to melt the iceTen days. That’s all I’m asking for. But not one of my NHL teammates is willing to cough up a sister, cousin, or trusted friend to play my fake girlfriend for this wedding.Pucking BS. Yeah, my mouth has been known to get me into places I don’t belong. But this Class Five panty melter is on lockdown because the last thing I need is another complication.I’m … another complication.
I’m about to give up when fate delivers the answer to my prayers.
I’m not her type.
She doesn’t date jocks.
All this sharp, sexy over-achiever wants is a little fun, an escape from her career driven life.
It’s a simple arrangement. So why am I complicating it?

Another great entry into the Slayers Hockey series by Mira Lyn Kelly. You can always count on Mira Lyn Kelly to give you witty banter, humor, heat, heart and a well-written sports romance that leaves you satisfied, and Dirty Talker definitely delivers on that expectation, as well as the title.
I did not think that Wade was going to fall for Harlow quite as hard as he did, but oh, my word, he fell hard and fast for her. He need to care for her, he needed to be there for her, he needed to make keeping her and keeping her happy his job. So you have a smitten, swoony man coming at his female lead with kindness and tenderness, and their chemistry was off the charts.
Harlow is a strong, determined, and self-sufficient female lead. She’s always had to prove herself and always had to get by on her own. so now she doesn’t know what to do with the crazy dirty talker that has her in his sights! Their fake relationship turns into real friendship, and then from real friendship to sizzling to can’t avoid falling in love. Wade gives Harlow all the things she never thought she could have – love, respect, being cherished and given her due.
A great addition to the series.
WOW!! Mira Lyn Kelly scored another goal with Dirty Talker, book four in her Slayers Hockey series. Wade Grady is in need of a fake girlfriend to bring to his brother’s wedding. Not one of his NHL teammates was willing to help him out, suggesting a sister, cousin or even a trusted friend. As he’s about to give up, a chance meeting with friends leads Harlow to agree to step out of her comfort zone and be Wade’s fake girlfriend. Harlow doesn’t date jocks, is driven to succeed, and is an over-achiever, but somehow while spending time with Wade and his family, she finds an escape from her boring life. Spending time together on the family farm, Wade and Harlow convince his family they are truly a couple and in love. Their magnetic attraction grows stronger each day and the sizzling off the chart chemistry could set off a firework display. It just might be possible that these two are perfect together and headed for a joined future; if it wasn’t for one obsessed home-town girl who believes Wade is supposed to be hers.
Ms. Kelly wrote an emotional, amazing, steamy sports romance that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, sarcasm, revealing conversations, and charming characters giving Wade and Harlow a chance at love and a future together. I highly recommend Dirty Talker to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I think I’ve found my new book boyfriend… holy wow WADE GRADY!
“Be the bunny…”
I was in love with him before the first chapter ended. The ultimate good guy with the filthy tongue. What’s not to love?!
I have been a big lover of the Slayers hockey series since we met Vaughn (well, Greg ;)), and it makes me so happy to continue to explore more of these cheeky players. Harlow is driven, focused, and a good girl but for all the wrong reasons. My heart broke for her struggles, and I ended up wanting to shake her to be like “BUT LOOK WHATS IN FRONT OF YOU!!” – though she came through.
They are both kindred souls in the sense that they both have to work so incredibly hard to get where they are/want to be. The fake to real relationship blossomed so beautifully and had me cheering with my Pom-poms for them throughout.
Can I rate this 10 stars as 5 isn’t enough!
Harlow’s the good girl always looking to climb the corporate ladder at her father’s bank so she can get even a smidgen of his attention. She doesn’t date jocks but when she’s had a few too many drinks one night while hanging with a friend, she finds herself agreeing to be a hockey player’s fake date for a week, so he can save face in front of his family. But in the cold light of day and a hangover induced forgetful fog, will Harlow still think Wade’s plan is a good one?
There’s something different about Harlow, something that draws Wade like no one ever before has. The fact that she doesn’t fall all over him is part of it, but it’s just her. So when he finds himself falling for his fake date, he’s all in. The only question is, is Harlow all in with him?
I think this is Mira’s best writing and best couple, ever! Wade is a good guy perfectly paired with Harlow’s good girl, but that mouth?! That dirty freaking mouth?! WHEW!! Their chemistry is off the charts hot, they’re both so sweet together, and I loved reading as fake soon turned oh so real. I can’t wait for more Slayer’s Hockey love now.
I love nothing more than when a fake relationship turns into a real one and especially with two people so deserving of one another as Wade and Harlow from Dirty Talker are. Wade is made out to be such a bad boy but he is really the sweetest of sweet and poor Harlow has been without love or affection her whole life so to finally get it from Wade and his family is so bittersweet plus she finally begins to feel her worth as a person really just gives you all the feels.
This amazing romance is full of steamy passion, family, wedding planning, hockey players, fake relationship and best of all an HEA! You don’t want to miss out on this read, it really is amazing, Mira Lyn Kelly really knocked it in the goal with Dirty Talker!!!
OMG, I don’t know if I have the words to express how awesome Wade and Harlow’s book is, but I’ll try.
I loved that this was a fake relationship story that didn’t have me questioning even once after they got out of Wade’s truck on day one of ten that yeah, this could totally happen like that.
I loved that I was so distracted by the story that when things that were hinted at earlier were finally revealed, I gasped out loud (I may possibly have been in public, but I’ll never tell) because I’d completely forgotten about the earlier clues and I ended up just as shocked as Wade had to be by them.
I loved that Wade’s family and friends were there for Harlow, in a way that no one else had ever been until those ten days began.
I loved how freaking good Harlow and Wade are together. They’re hot together, of course, but OMG they’re also just so darn sweet together. And before they’re even a week into their fake relationship, each is more than willing to throw down in order to show their support of the other. So. Good. Together.
I loved that the book’s “black moment” wasn’t one that threatened their relationship, not really. Things looked a little scary for a minute or two there, but there was absolutely nothing that caused either of them to be truly worried about the solidity of their relationship. Not once they managed to re-connect with each other, anyway. And that made my heart so darn happy.
And I loved that “one month later” scene when Harlow finally learned to appreciate dating a guy who plays hockey. Pure. Gold.
I absolutely can’t wait until the next book in the series comes out, though I dare Ms Kelly to give me a better pairing than these two. Go ahead, I’ll wait. (I can’t promise that I’ll be doing it patiently, though! ;))
Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Rating is 4.5.
This is the 4th book in the series but you don’t need to read any prior books. I actually forgot this was a part of the series for most of the book.
Wade needs a fake girlfriend for an upcoming wedding. Unfortunately none of his friends or teammates will help him find one.
Harlow is out for a rare night out and does the unthinkable, she agrees to the wedding trip without knowing her date.
Once Harlow sobers up and meets up with Wade the next day she decides to still go through with it. Now they get to work together to prove they’re the perfect couple at the wedding. Love how they learn more about themselves and figure out what’s really important to their current and future lives.
Received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
This Series just gets better and better!!!! Wade and Harlow start out with a fake relationship For his brother’s wedding but it turns into something more!! This one is funny and sexy!! Great Read!!!
Wade Grady is in need of a a fake girlfriend for his brother’s upcoming wedding. Just a ten day (non)commitment to get his family off his back about his non-relationship status. Luckily for him, Harlow appears at just the right time in need of a little time away after she’s passed over for a promotion at her job. She’s made very clear that Wade is completely not her type – maybe a little too clear if his hurt ego is anything to go by. But it’s for the best because the last thing Wade thinks he needs or wants is a real girlfriend. That is, until he and Harlow start spending time together. Then they both start to realize that there might actually be something between them. Now, if Wade can only convince her to give him more than ten days.
Honestly, I feel completely blindsided by this book. I was not prepared for how much I would love Wade, love Harlow, and love Wade and Harlow together. I really enjoyed that this time around the setting takes us out of the world of professional Hockey. There’s nothing wrong with it, I just think the change of scenery lends itself to the surprise of the story for me. It allowed the story to keep a laser focus on Wade and Harlow.
Seriously these two just click. There’s no pressure or animosity between them. It starts out as a simple favor, and watching it slowly change into something more was both sweet, and lets be honest here, full of hot tension.
The only thing is that I kinda wish we got a little more with Harlow and her family dynamic. It’s a topic that is referenced early on and then more towards the end we get more insight, I just wish it was more prevalent throughout. The story skews towards Wade’s family / home life due to the fact that he has to go home for the wedding, but I wish it was a bit more equal with Harlow’s.
Overall, though, this is my favorite of the series. I enjoyed getting to spend a little time away from the normal setting and like the focus this placed on Wade and Harlow together. Of course, there are little breadcrumbs scattered throughout about who might get their story next, and honestly I can’t wait.
“ ’ , . , .”
Let’s talk about “Dirty Talker by Mira Lyn Kelly”, book part of the Slayers Hockey series.
This is hands down my favorite book from Mira! I’m so in love and I couldn’t put it down. I was reading so fast because I wanted to devour the story, but at the same time I didn’t want to end. Sigh. The struggle of a reader. Anyway, it’s a fake relationship trope and finally I didn’t get annoyed about it! They didn’t lack communication, at least on Wade’s part, he was upfront most of the times and express what he wanted and needed. Sometimes he also use the Art of seduction to win Harlow over, even the “be the bunny” technique that Axe taught him.
Harlow at the other part, need a break from her life, so when Wade needed a fake girlfriend so he could go to his brother’s wedding, she jumped to the occasion. I loved her so much, she was a loving, strong and loyal woman. Which made my heart break with her family struggles. She really didn’t deserve any of that.
So it was a good thing that Wade and Harlow found each other, they instantly became friends and a support system for each other. He showed her that there was more than work in life and what family and love really means, and I loved that she protected him over the situation with Kelsey, his crazy “stalker”, who lived at his parents house. But when they finally got together, dammmn it was steamy! The guy has moves and oh my bring me some ice!
Another thing that I adored about them, was how they become a power couple, you know the one that fight everything together and overcome any struggles and keeping loving? I love this! I was honestly surprised in the end, those twists!! But also loved! And don’t forget the hockey friends shenanigans! Gosh, this book is a must read!
I’m such a sucker for a hot hockey romance. Throw in a fake relationship and I am THERE FOR IT!
This is book 4 in the series and was another great addition. It was well written with real, relatable and in depth characters. Harlow was such a smart and sassy heroine and watching Wade win her over was everything.
This is more of a slow burn romance but still brought all the hotness.
This read had me from the very first chapter. It most certainly has it all and I absolutely loved it.
Easily one of my favorite books this year. I fell in love with Wade almost immediately. He had a heart of gold and I loved that he wasn’t near as cocky as his friends. I also loved Harlow. The two characters were so different but ended up helping each other in so many ways. I can’t wait to read more of this series!
How lucky are we to continue to get these fantastic Hockey stories from Mira! This book once again gave me everything I wanted – it was everything I needed. Wade is another hunky hero and Harlow is his perfect compliment. I love love her stories and can not wait for the next one!
Wade is a professional hockey player who wants to bring a date to his brothers wedding but since they will need to spend the next 10 days together not only does he have to get along with her but his family will have to as well. Harlow is the perfect choice on so many levels with the main one being when they return to town they will go back to their separate lives.
Harlow has spent her life focused on climbing the corporate ladder to please her family however it never seems to be enough. She decides that going away with Wade will bring excitement and adventure into her life that has been sadly lacking and then she will have the memories of this time together when she returns to her every day life.
Seeing Harlow embrace her new role and how understanding Wade was towards her was enough to make you swoon. There is no denying the heat between them but it is the way that they connect with each other on so many different levels that proves that their time together is destined to be a beginning and not an end.
This is the fourth book in the series and a book I couldn’t put down. This is a book that will cause a book hangover. I loved Wade and Harlow. Wade is going to make you swoon many times. That man is prime book boyfriend material. Poor Harlow doesn’t stand a chance though she puts up a good fight. Man, did my heart go out to Harlow. Life is not her friend at the moment and she could use a distraction. That distraction comes in the form of Wade and being his fake girlfriend when he heads to his hometown. I loved Wade’s family. Harlow so deserves a taste of that family relationship. I so wanted to bop her dad and knock some sense into him. Karma needs to visit that man asap! Harlow and Wade are going to make you gobble up these pages. Their fake relationship starts to feel all too real and it’s not in Harlow’s life plan. This book made my heart so happy. It so satisfied my romantic heart. This book had the great balance of heart, heat, and humor. I can’t recommend this book enough!!
Cannot adequately express how completely and utterly I love with DIRTY TALKER: A Slayers Hockey Novel I am. This book is pure delight; a feel good romance that feels even better than good. I can’t stop smiling. Highly recommend!
This book may have been about a fake relationship, but the feels I got while reading it where very real! I adored Wade and Harlow! These two made me laugh as much as they had my heart thumping happily in my chest as they journeyed from being strangers (although Wade already knew who Harlow was) to a fake couple (even though Harlow was oh-so-hesitant to go through with it) to friends (with a whole lot of benefits) and then so much more (go read the book to see how they get there!). Mira Lyn Kelly brought together to people who didn’t have a whole lot in common, partner them up in a fake relationship, and summarily fall in love, and I was all in for every single bit of it! Nothing as rushed or forced, and I felt like I got to know Wade and Harlow as they were getting to know each other. I was expecting Dirty Talker to be good; it was fantastic. Five-plus stars.
I loved this book. The characters, the humor, the story, the steamy romance…it’s all so good.
Wade and Harlow are a great couple, even when they’re faking it.
I highly recommend this book, as well as all the other Slayers Hockey ones. They do not disappoint.
Absolutely loved it! It’s sweet and heartwarming. I loved the characters, the connection, the banter and flying sparks. I was hooked from the beginning. It’s an entertaining story that will leave you smiling. A great addition to the series.
