His mouth is hot enough to melt the iceTen days. That’s all I’m asking for. But not one of my NHL teammates is willing to cough up a sister, cousin, or trusted friend to play my fake girlfriend for this wedding.Pucking BS. Yeah, my mouth has been known to get me into places I don’t belong. But this Class Five panty melter is on lockdown because the last thing I need is another complication.I’m … another complication.
I’m about to give up when fate delivers the answer to my prayers.
I’m not her type.
She doesn’t date jocks.
All this sharp, sexy over-achiever wants is a little fun, an escape from her career driven life.
It’s a simple arrangement. So why am I complicating it?

Sooooo. I am a bit late in writing a review for this book, considering that I was in the throes of a few other books, but here I am now, and here is my honest review!
I have loved the other three books in this series, and this book was no different for me.
Another sweet book that consisted of a sweet hero and sweet heroine. I’ve mentioned this in the other books’ reviews, but I really love this change of pace from asshole hero to kind-hearted-hero-from-the-get-go.
Harlow-interesting name by the way, have literally never heard it before now, was someone relatable in that she had a parent who wouldn’t give her the time of day and she was always trying to get his attention and do what’s right for his approval. I liked that about her-the realisticness of it that is. I also liked that she didn’t let that hinder her from being happy with Wade, and she didn’t let that baggage cloud the way she felt about him and realize what was happening between them.
And Wade, he was just so nice and sexy and dirty in all the right ways while being a gentleman in so many others. I liked his character a lot. He went after what he wanted, and he wasn’t manipulative about it-not in a totally obvious way, at least, and he could admit to his feelings without there being some harsh trial about it.
I liked the lack of over the top drama. When there was drama, it wasn’t dragged out, and everything fell into place rather quickly, yet at a pace that somehow fit the mode of the story to a tee.
Honestly, I can’t choose a favorite of this series. They are all pretty great. One thing that I really love about this author is that, although each of her heroes are decent guys that have red hearts, they are all different and unique in their own ways.
I’m looking forward to reading Dirty Deal. I can’t wait to see Axel fall to his knees for a woman. It’s about time he’s tamed, lol.
Wade needs a fake girlfriend and Harlow needs a break, so 10 days in Wade’s hometown sounds perfect, right?u2063

Wade and Harlow had great chemistry, from when they were practicing to after they were intimate for real. Most of this book took place in Wade’s hometown, so not a lot of hockey or hockey talk. The settings led to more forced proximity and chances for them to be close. u2063

Wade was a cinnamon roll, albeit a dirty talking one. Harlow was entirely focused on her career until she realizes what her life was missing. u2063

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and seeing more of the player’s softer/family side vs their sports persona. Definitely a great read for fake dating fans.
Just helping out a guy who needs a fake girlfriend for 10 days. What could go wrong. From a cold reception of a spokeswoman, to shenanigans meant to break you up to actually having a connection with said fake. Will it all blow up when the fake relationship is discovered? Helping each other out will get you thru as it was a short term deal. Intense characters showing their strengths while letting their guard down
This is book 4 can be read as a stand alone but reading the other books gives you knowledge of the other players. Wade is hockey player for Slayers he needs a date for his brothers wedding to act as a buffer from his ex high school friend who wants more. But he needs this person to know they aren’t going to be more then the 10 days this wedding party is. Harlow is smart beautiful hard working women. Whose friend talked her into going to a party with her to let off steam after being turn down for a promotions she should have had. Harlow meets wade and is a little tipsy and agrees to the 10 days but wakes up and realized that she shouldn’t because her father owns the bank he uses. When wade see Harlow the next day she tries to get out of it but he talks her into it.
This story spend a lot of time with the couple getting to know each other while pretending to be together . Yet there attractions real. The chemistry is through the roof. When they finally give in to each other it’s steamy. But she pulls back and he is left to asking for advice of his friend. There’s some twist and turns and drama. But the two formed some great bonds . I really love Mira Lyme Kelly writing she has a way of making you feel the emotions and feel like your right there with the characters while they are going through the story. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Wade Grady might have just taken the number one sport of Book Boyfriend! Oh Gosh this story!
First of all fake relationship trope is cat nip for me. I love them. There is always so much that can go wrong to make the story great! But you add a swoony dirty talking hockey player to the mix and you just know this is a story that is going to be amazing!
Grady is such a smart and humbling hero. He has all the swagger you want from your hockey playing hero but he comes with another layer. Hockey didn’t come easy for Grady. He has a work ethic that drives him to his professional career.
Grady is also a totally family guy. He cares so deeply for his family that he does everything he can to be present when he visits them at home. There is this one thing back home that interferes with his family time and leaves him looking for a fake girl friend to bring home for his brother’s wedding.
Harlow was the surprising heroine. She comes off as aloof and I wasn’t sure how Grady was going to reel her in. Harlow has been driven her whole life. She is a people pleaser. But at the end of the day, she just wants someone to notice her efforts, to care about her and to put her first. In the end Harlow is a Boss! It shows that when you finally open yourself up to love and acceptance you find EVERYTHING you need.
This book checks so many boxes for me.
witty banter
steamy tension
a smart heroine
A swoony hockey player.
I love the stories that Kelly writes. Her hockey players have such heart and love about them.. She is a must read for me.
Dirty Talker is the fourth book in the Slayer Hockey and is my favorite! I fell in love with Wade and Harlow! Wade works so hard for his hockey career and I loved the fact that while he is a natural athlete, he also realizes he must stay 100% committed 100% of the time to get a shot at the professional league. Harlow is equally driven in her career as well as her desire to prove herself to her father. I was immediately drawn into their characters and had so much fun reading this book!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
OMG! These two! I was hooked on this story from beginning to end. Loved Wade and Harlow!
LOVED this SO MUCH!
This was yet another well-written story from one of my favorite romance authors. It gave me everything I wanted – it was everything I needed. The title? 100% accurate… holy. tingles. everywhere.
Mira’s heroes are always the dreamiest and swooniest and fall hard for their women. But Wade… ohmygoodness. I think he put a lot more hearts in my eyes than any of the other Slayers hockey players. I really didn’t think that’d be possible.
Watching him fall for Harlow was such a beautiful thing. His passion, his need to care for her was touching and so very heartwarming. It made me envy her a bit. I would kill for that kind of adoration.
Their chemistry was white hot. It snapped, crackled, and popped! My kindle was seriously sizzling. His filthy mouth? GEEZ LOUISE. It was scrumptious.
No matter how hard Harlow tried to resist him, she just couldn’t. She tried hard to ignore his kindness, his sexiness, his honesty… those MF abs. She continually said he’s not her type, tried so hard to convince herself of that. But there was no denying…he is an all-around good guy with a huge heart, hiding inside that gorgeous body of his.
Harlow was such a strong and determined heroine. Never getting the love and care she needed growing up, she always felt like she had to prove herself. She craved the attention that she was deprived of her whole life. But she didn’t want to have to depend on anyone. She worked hard for everything she had, with no help from anyone else. But…she sure wouldn’t mind being needed by someone every once in a while.
The relationship between Wade and Harlow went from you’re-not-my-type to maybe to this-is-awkward to I’m-all-in-this-fake-relationship to friends-to-lovers to…more…so much more. With each turn of the page, seeing their relationship grow, experiencing their hearts opening up and growing and letting each other in gave me all those feel-good feels and delicious little heart flutters.
After Wade showed her what it’s like to be cared for, to be acknowledged, to be respected, she was a goner. Girl, SAME.
I loved this book so much! I’m pretty sure the smile on my face was ear to ear and wouldn’t leave my face for a long time after I finished.
If you’ve read the other books in this series, you’ll want to read this one. If you haven’t, this one can be read as a standalone. And then you can go back and read the others. 😉
Dirty Talking Cinnamon Roll? Yes, please!
Wade needs a date for his brother’s wedding. Harlow needs a break from her work like, which is pretty much her whole life mixed with some family drama. She’s prepared to fake it with him but isn’t prepared for the impact his professional hockey player body and amazingly loving and caring personality have on her.
Mira Lyn Kelly’s Slayers Hockey series is full of tough, dirty, alpha, hockey players but Wade has a much softer side right from the beginning that is as sexy as his moves, on and off the ice. I also absolutely loved that Harlow was willing to see the flaws in her life and fight to change things while also standing up for herself and Wade. And their chemistry was straight
I missed seeing the players in action but I loved getting to see Wade’s family and meet new players…can’t wait for their love stories!
I received a complimentary review copy of this book but all opinions are my own.
OMG! Easily one of the best fake girlfriend books I’ve read. It’s definitely my favorite of this trope and the best book in the series so far.
Wade is just adorable. He’s so real and so good with just a little bad boy thrown in to make him extra lovable. Harlow was a very likeable heroine. She was so wounded and was trying so hard to be perfect and successful that you just can’t help but want to hug her. She is also kind, funny, and smart . Wade gave her by the cutest nickname. He called her “good girl”. Every time he called her that it made me smile. On paper they were very different but the author made it work. Their chemistry was as sweet as it was hot.
Wade’s family was wonderful and loving. They welcomed Harlow with open arms. Harlow fell in love with the caring, the generosity, and the love of this warm down to earth family. Something she had never had. They were a family even I envied.
Wade’s buddy, Axe, gave him some of the best hockey playing book BFF advice ever. Axe: “Be the bunny, dude.”
With snappy dialogue, a well written story, awesome characters, some crazy moments, a little bit of chaos, and a whole lot of fun this book is going on my favorites list.I honestly loved this book. I recommend it and I hope anyone that reads it enjoys it as much as I did. I really do.
Mira Lyn Kelly keeps writing all these sexy, intense, amazing hockey players, trying to tempt me from Vaughn, my one true Slayers love! It’s not fair and it’s not going to work! Or is it? Because while I love all the men she writes, Wade may just be sharing the top of the podium now.
Wade’s pairing with Harlow might look like opposites, but these two are intense in exactly the same way. Both put more than 100% into their jobs, but while Harlow has no life outside the office, Wade is all about showing her that there’s more to life than 15 hour days.
They sizzle from day one, because their conversations are so open and honest. They’re building a fake relationship through real friendship, and that’s one of the sexiest things there is for this reader. So for all the dirty talk this hunky guy dishes out, it’s his real-ness that’s the biggest draw.
Every character in this book is someone I want to hang out with. Well, almost all! Wade’s family is as wonderful as he is, and his buddy Axel is a bad boy to the core. I just know he’ll be getting his own story at some point…but I imagine there’s at least one other player looking to score as well. Yes Ms. Kelly…I saw that teaser you snuck in there!
Wade and Harlow are one of my favorite couples, not just this year or this series, but ever. I guess Vaughn will just have to share that throne with his teammate now!
I absolutely loved Wade and his Dirty mouth!! He was absolutely the best!! I can’t believe his friends and teammates didn’t have better trust in him with their loved ones!! My only complaint was that Harlow was a bit of a doormat for some parts of her life but so strong in others. This was a great fake girlfriend book and the tension!!
The Slayers Hockey series just goes from strength to strength with book four; Dirty Talker giving us Wade and Harlow’s story. These books are sweet and sexy and I am loving them. This entertaining story is a fake girlfriend’s tale that I could not put down and I loved everything about this story.
This was a super sexy, romantic and sometimes emotional charged story. The chemistry between Wade and Harlow just burned off the pages and I was rooting for them the whole way. I loved these characters and connected with them immediately. Their story made me want to keep turning those pages. It was well-written, it was fun, and it was sexy!
Overall, this was a top-notch story with characters that I really connected with. This story was so fun and entertaining. When it comes to Mira Lyn Kelly’s brand of romance, I’m most definitely hooked!
