Sexy, fresh, and seriously fun! Regina Kyle delivers her trademark sass and sizzle with Brie and Connor’s story. Brother’s best friend is my catnip trope, and this book delivers. Loved every page!
Brie Lawson , an aspiring actress in NYC wants to give her brother and his fiancée privacy in their apartment. She moves out, but where to go? Connor Dow, his brother’s nightclub partner has just the place. Connor has been attracted to Brie, but as his best friend’s little sister, she was hands off. After Brie moves in, they both make more of an effort to hang out together. Feelings begin to take root and decisions have to be made. Can this couple who are opposites come together for their happily ever after? This sexy and sweet story was a page turner for me. One of my favorite parts was when Brie defended Connor against his father and how she helped Connor realize that there was more to life than work. I loved both of these characters proving sometimes opposites do attract.
Brie shows up at Connor’s looking to give her brother privacy. But with her long time crush a relationship starts. But with everything going on Connor was not sure being in her high profile life would be good for him. Good brother’s best friend romance.
Your brothers best friend, you’ve known him all your life, nothing to worry about, right? The only problem may be that you have to live with the man you’ve been crushing on for most of your life. Hey, you are an adult, you can manage that, right?
Gabrielle, Brie, Lawson thinks she can anyway. Well it’s not so much that she thinks she can as much as she doesn’t have a choice any more. Life is not really giving her many choices in this. She can do it though. Between work and keeping different schedules it will be fine.
Connor Dow doesn’t know what to do, his best friends little sister. He can’t not let her live with him, but the bro code…. How is he going to deal with living with the person he has had to place in the no touch zone for too many years to count. He will just have to figure out a way is all.
When Connor and Brie both realize that they have both zoned each other because of their shared person the heat couldn’t get much hotter until the past and unresolved issues pop up to cool the flames. Can they be resolved and life become simpler and happier again? Or will these two forever remain connected and cold?
Ms. Kyle has done it again which is not a surprise. This is the second in a duet(?) and while it doesn’t have to be read after the first it does help you to understand some of the secondary players in this work. Dirty Secrets is not just a playful read, it’s a way to disappear and connect with people you will want to be your friend and, well to be honest, allow you to be a voyeur. Here’s to some amazing reading once again brought to you by Ms. Kyle.
Gabrielle “Brie” Lawson’s plan for life is to make it as an actress. She has a role in a new series and because of her expenses has been living in her brother and his fiance’s house. Feeling she is crowding them she decides that since her brother’s partner in the “top Shelf club” has a huge penthouse apartment with lots of bedrooms she will crash by him. Family friends forever she finger’s crossed hopes he will let her stay there. Wishing and hoping doesn’t necessarily give her entrance into Connor Dow’s life not as a roommate and for sure not because she secretly has the hots for him. Ms. Kyle has written a fantastically hot read and one of the best Dare books I have read. It’s hot, its intense, it’s got lots of family issues and it makes for a wonderful read when a really hot secure man who becomes weak when he realizes how important Brie has become to his life. Can he admit he loves her, will his different life interfere in her star -studded career? Read this awesome book and guarantee you won’t put it down once you start
Amazing!
This was an amazing read. I liked getting to know Conner and Brie in Dirty Work but this story had me falling in love with them. Brie and Conner are a match made in heaven and balance one another perfectly.
Hope to see more of Brie, Conner Ainsley and Jake in the future!
The ‘Dirty Secrets’ title – besides tying it to sister Dare title Dirty Work — doesn’t do this fun, feisty romance justice. Dirty Secrets is a sexy, voice-y romance told in dueling first-person. Brie and Connor have lusted after each other secretly for years, Connor being Brie’s brother Jake’s partner in the nightclub they own together. Driven to find a new place to live, Brie’s desperate request to move in with Connor upsets any balance they might have found, and after that, intimacy is inevitable.
The sex is enjoyable, varied, and full of emotional connection that Brie and Connor aren’t quite willing to admit as their time together continues. I really enjoyed the conflicts that kept them apart, and the resolution that cemented their Happily Ever After, but the best part of the story was the characters. The first-person POV allows the reader to live the ups and downs and triumphs and insecurities with the characters, as well as really enjoy the steamier scenes, and with nerdy hunk Connor and determined actress Brie, there’s a lot to enjoy. I really liked the relationship that developed between them, and the Happily Ever After at the end of the book felt really believable. I did feel that there were so many things going on – so many subplots – that sometimes some elements felt like they could have been explored a bit more and deepened, but the constraints of category romance are strict, and everything that was in the book gave richness to Brie and Connor’s romance, in the end. Dirty Secrets was a very enjoyable story and a great entry in the Dare line.
Part of the A Scorching Hot Romance series a well written story with a great storyline. I enjoyed seeing Connor Dow, and Gabrielle “Brie” Lawson, her brother’s best friend story come together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Upon hearing about a new book I knew I would enjoy it, as I have always loved the way this author write her characters, and how they interchange with each other along with other secondary characters. However as this one was also connected with characters from a previous book, I was hoping for something extra within its pages. This book was all that and more! In my mind I had already formed an impression of sorts to Brie and Connor having discovered them in Dirty Works. What I found was and irresistible connection of emotions. From love, laughter, surprise and say whaaatt, to everything in between. I was hopeful yet surprised when Jake had such a beautiful and caring reaction to being told his bestie was not only dating his little sister but had fallen in love. I say surprised because I figured based on his original comments about the two of them he would try and not only dissuade him but maybe make a “Big Brother” speech. I absolutely loved loved the fact he pretty much had a I brought you two together type attitude, after Connor explained his reasons. It also made my day that despite their misgivings both Brie and Connor found the strength in their love to find what each other needed while being true to themselves, in reaching their HEA.
Thank You for continuing to write about characters that grab you from the moment they step onto the page, take you along on their journey and simultaneously spin your imagination in such a way that you come away feeling like you’ve known them all your life.
Who doesn’t love a good love story? Connor and Brie have a long standing relationship, mostly fueled by their intertwined relationship with her brother. When Brie decides to move our of her brothers apartment who better to turn to than her oldest friend Connor.
Of course it doesn’t hurt at all that he is super hot, funny and has encompassed her thoughts for most of her adult life. She could live there and maybe he won’t want her to leave. Who is she kidding, he’d never be interested in her.
His best friends little sister, the girl he has tried to keep his thoughts staying to for more years than he’d care to admit, wants to move in with him. How can he say no, but how can he say yes. I don’t want to break her heart, but also not break mine.
A good building story about two people connected by more than just their mutual love for a another. As usually, the author weaves a great story that pulls you in for a great ride along with the characters.
Brie is tired of being a 3rd wheel. While she appreciates her brother letting her stay with him and his fiancé while she gets back on her feet, the PDA is a little much. Exhausted, Brie decides to move out. She shows up on the doorstep of her brother’s best friend and business partner. She knows she’s playing with fire as she has a HUGE crush on Conner, but doesn’t feel as though she has a choice. She’s broke and struggling to find acting jobs. If she gets the job she’s studying/practicing for, she’ll be able to afford a place of her own.
Conner is the co-owner of one of the most successful night clubs in town. He’s the quiet, nerdy type that would rather stay in the background, while Brie’s brother is the “front guy”. He’s just come off of a bad breakup and isn’t looking for anything serious. When he hears a knock on the door….his greatest temptation is standing there with pleading eyes. He knows he shouldn’t say “yes” to Brie moving in, but he also doesn’t want his best friend to be mad that he turned his sister away in her time of need. He just hopes he can keep his hands to himself…
Woohoo! What a story! I loved Conner and Brie together. They were the perfect mixture of Alpha male, sweetness, kindness, and supportiveness. Brie was there for Conner when he didn’t even know he needed it. She took up for him and defended him. Conner supported Brie in her dreams to become a successful actress—even when he would rather be at home. The chemistry was off the charts!!! I also loved how Brie’s brother and his fiancé were making bets on their relationship. Wonderful characters! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Loved this “brothers friend romance” with Brie and Connor. She is his friends younger sister who needs a room so he lets her move in knowing he is attracted to the beautiful young woman she has turned out to be but what he does not know is Brie has been attracted to Connor for years. This is a cute romance with them trying to keep their hands off of each other in the beginning until the temptation gets too strong to deny. Great characters and dialog.
This book is delight to read it is just sheer good fun and the perfect escape from life as we know it
Gabrielle (Brie) is trying to make it as an actress in New York she has been living with her brother and his fiancee but their amorous adventures are keeping her awake so she knows she needs to find somewhere else to live She convinces her brothers best friend Connor to let her stay with him Connor was a nerd as they where growing up but now he is smoking hot and part owner of one of the trendiest bars in NY he is also fresh of a break up and wants nothing to do with women So how come he is having so much trouble with his new house mate why can’t he stop thinking about her he knows been with her could destroy his friendship with her brother is he willing to risk that to get closer to Brie.
Book 2 in this series (Dirty Work is Book 1!) And we get Jake’s little sisters story – along with Jake’s best friend!!
Both attracted to each other but neither wanting to hurt or annoy Jake…
Good wee read.
What to do when your brother’s best friend is a major hottie who you just happen to have a crush on and you need a place to stay, you show up at his luxury apartment with all of your stuff. That’s how Gabrielle “Brie” Lawson and Connor Dow begin their laugh out loud, smexy, and imaginative story, Dirty Secrets by Regina Kyle. Brie is an aspiring actress and currently working on a Netflix show. Connor co-owns one of the top New York clubs with Brie’s brother. Their schedules don’t exactly mesh, but Brie is determined to find a way for the two of them to take part in some horizontal limbo and cross the bro code line. It doesn’t take long for Connor to stop staying late at the office so he can come home and spend time with Brie; willing to risk losing his best friend for a chance at true love. Brie and Connor fit together like puzzle pieces. She is the yin to his yang. Take about chemistry and magnetism, WOW, off the charts.
Ms. Kyle wrote a laugh-out-loud, funny, sexy, and amazing story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale that sizzled with their magnetism, scorch the sheets chemistry, witty banter, and strong characters kept me flipping the pages of this fun and fast-paced contemporary romance. I totally enjoyed and highly recommend Dirty Secrets to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I do love a good brother’s best friend story and Regina Kyle has delivered one with heart, heat, and humor. Add in opposites attract and forced proximity to the mix, as well as an awesome cover, this book had me from the first page!
Brie and Connor were such a great couple. I love how their friendship was just as strong as the chemistry between them and how they always seemed to give each other just what they needed. From Brie being there for lunch with Connor and his father, to Connor spending the day at a ComicCon event to support Brie, these two couldn’t have been more perfect for each other. Of course, Connor has a bit of a lapse in judgement near the end, but I totally loved how his epiphany comes about and probably would not have loved this book quite as much if it didn’t happen that way.
It wouldn’t be a good brother’s best friend story without the big brother who has to get in the middle of things – of course in this case it was not only Brie’s brother Jake, but also his fiancé Ainsley, who were taking bets on what was going on with Brie and Connor. I loved how supportive Jake was, but also how he still was protective of Brie. And I loved how Ainsley was always in Brie’s corner, encouraging her to go for what she wanted.
Although this book was a quick read, Ms. Kyle was able to bring emotions to the characters. I loved the witty banter as well as the meaningful dialogue between the characters, and also loved the emotional connection that the author was able to bring to all the steamy scenes as well.
I am just loving these Harlequin DARE romances and Regina Kyle delivers everything that this sexy romance line promises!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book I received from the author.
Bona fide sexy goodness! With a dashing jaunt into the forbidden Regina Kyle delights all our senses with DIRTY SECRETS. The characters are easy to connect with and delightful, the plot is pure temptation, and the laughter mixed in with pure affection is utterly delightful. There was a slightly too abrupt of an ending, but overall I couldn’t have loved them more!
Brie is pure joy. She’s sweet, she’s smart, she’s successful … and above all else, she loves with her whole heart.
I adored Connor. He is the ultimate version of a sexy nerd and he carried it well.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a heartfelt connection filled with lust, love and deep affection.
Well, my girl Regina hit it out of the park. This was a fun, interesting read. I really needed this now. We first met Connor and Brie in the previous book in the series – Dirty Work. I really enjoy when secondary characters get their own books, it brings “more” to the story. Again, Regina has written well thought out characters who were fun and real. Brie and Connor go from kids who grew up together to friends to lovers.
And also New York city is also one of the characters and it is always fun to visit here – actually or through a book. Thanks for a fun and steamy read. I always love me some Nerd loving, especially when he comes with his own six-pack.
I enjoy forbidden romances and brother’s best friend is sometimes my guilty pleasure. This one didn’t disappoint. Brie is determined to get Connor to see her as more than a friend and sparks fly quickly. This is sweet and sexy and one naughty read.
Opposites attract, my brothers best friend, friends to lovers…. this book has it all and then some.
Brie and Connor are not the pair you would think end up together.
When Brie shows up unannounced on her brother’s sexy best friend and business partner’s doorstep anything can happen. She’s an aspiring actress who loves the spotlight and he’s a quiet geeky behind the scenes guy. What could these two possibly have in common? When they find common ground will unspoken fear keep them apart?
Hot, steamy, forbidden, page turning chemistry makes it hard to put this book down.
I received an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
