“Sexy and fun with a delicious hockey hero!” -NYTimes Bestseller Lexi RyanIn my defense, I didn’t know she was his sister… play at all. And that’s a hit my career in the NHL can’t take. So the plan is simple. Keep my head down and finish out my contract with my fists checked.
There’s just one problem.
Allie. The girl from Vancouver eight months ago. The one with the sexy, shy, and sinfully bold smile and the sweetest, wettest mouth I ever tasted. The girl who blew my mind and then blew out of my life without giving me her number.
Turns out she’s the captain’s little sister. And even though my career depends on it… I can’t stay away from her.

Absolutely LOVED this book and look forward to more in this series!
I am so happy Kelly decided to pick up the Slayer’s story after Dirty Player (which you all should read!), and this book is a solid 4.5 stars!
Vaughn is the perfect hard on the outside soft on the inside hero, and the way he loves Natalie… God the swoon.
I loved how well panned out Natalie’s back story was, I really felt for her and loved how the relationship unfolds.
Biggest issue that knocked off half a star? Greg. I was head over heels for him in Dirty Player, and Kelly just ruined him for me in this book. I could not stand him, and it left a bitter taste in my mouth considering how good of a character he was in his own book.
Though maybe that was the point – he’s only great when he’s the hero of the story…
All in all, another great read by Mira Lyn Kelly, and I am all about this series!
it was really good
Loved this book – could feel the tension with this “hidden” relationship and how the lead female could read between the lines. This is a must read for those that enjoy the sports world and passionate sex/love relationshps
Loved the series
Loved this story, life is so unpredictable & only your heart tells the truth.

This is a book that absolutely grabs your attention and doesn’t let you go. I was so hooked on this book from the very start. I couldn’t get enough.
The characters in this book are very relatable and I enjoyed getting to know them. The characters weren’t necessarily complex but there was enough background so that they had some nice growth in the story. I really like all of the side characters and I am excited to read more about them in other books from this author. All the side characters really bring a sense of completeness to the story.
I loved how the two main characters complimented each other. They had such intense chemistry and their love story was a delight to watch unfold. I loved the forbidden-ish romance that ensued.
I loved the author’s writing style. It was easy to slip into the lives of these characters and root for them. The flow was perfect and the plot was entertaining and so addicting.
Overall, this was a top-notch story with characters that I really connected with. The story is fun and entertaining. When it comes to Mira Lyn Kelly’s brand of romance, I think I’m hooked!
If you read Dirty Player, which was about Greg, this book is about his little sister, Natalie. Who got neglected throughout her childhood, because of her brother’s hockey career.
I couldn’t connect with Natalie, but I did with Vaughn. So brooding, yet with a big ass heart. All he wants is to play the game and be left alone.
Dirty Secret, felt more rushed than Dirty Player.

This is book 1 in the slayers hockey series.
This is a sports romance with steamy scenes. We are introduced to Vaughn and Natalie. These two have chemistry from the first time they met in Vancouver and again when they met in Chicago.
I was gripped from the first page and it kept me turning pages to see what happened on their journey to find love with each other.
If you like steamy sport romances then this wont disappoint.
OMG I think, no I know I have officially and completely fallin in love with Vaughn. He is just the sweetest, I can’t even with him.
This book was perfect. I loved how it was the guy all in and the girl stand-offish. I haven’t had the pleasure of reading many books like that, and it was a breath of fresh air. This is definitely a must read. I highly recommend it to everyone. Mria Lyn Kelly knocked it out of the park with this one. If you love a good hot headed hockey player as much as I do you will absolutely love this.
Vaughn is fairly new to the Chicago Slayer’s and can’t wait for the end of the season. When he is traded or Oregon and he is out of Chicago. In the meantime, he has to keep his nose clean and put his history and dislike towards the captain aside for a little while longer.
Natalie has had a ‘crush’ on Vaughn since they were kids. It isn’t until a night in Vancouver that she acts on it. Not telling Vaughn who she is they have one night together and that is all it was supposed to be.
Until Vaughn finds out exactly who she is. He knows he has to stay away from her. He can’t risk one more issue or his trade will fall through. Or worse, he is done playing altogether. Natalie made it clear that she doesn’t date Hockey players.
Is it possible for them to keep word? Are their feelings towards each other stronger than either of them planned?
A terrific sports romance not to be missed. Vaughn and Natalie have one incredible night together that won’t happen again. Or so they thought and then things get interesting. Great story with characters you can love to hate at times. If you want hot hockey players, undeniable chemistry and love you want to read this. Can’t wait for the next in series.
I liked this one even better than Dirty Player. Lots of sex but great characters who face difficult and realistic obstacles to happy ever after. Loved Vaughn!
A fun hockey/forbidden romance. Vaughn Vasser is the latest addition to the Chicago Slayers hockey team. He got off to a bad start by punching the team Captain, Greg Baxter, his first week. Now he has to make nice if he doesn’t want to get kicked off the team and screw up his chances for a trade to Oregon. He is trying to work with the team when he finds out that the girl he had a fling with eight months ago, and cannot stop thinking about, is his captain’s sister Natalie. Natalie has had to play second fiddle to her brother and his career her whole life. Vaughn had been her brother’s rival in high school, and Natalie had a bit of a crush. When Natalie see’s Vaughn in Vancouver, she takes a risk to fulfill her crush. She leaves him in the middle of the night, without telling him her last name or giving him her number. Now that his is playing for her brother’s team, the spark is rekindled. This is a hot, steamy hockey romance with two very likable characters. This is my first book by Mira Lyn Kelly, and it won’t be my last.
Immediate reread! …and it made me late for work!
This book pulled me in from the start. I loved the story and the characters. When I read books, I often highlight passages that I like … with this one, I was highlighting all the time!
What makes a good book for me are the characters and the writing…. and this book has both.
The main characters, Vaughn and Natalie, both have family issues hanging over them. Vaughn’s father made him the hockey star that he is today, but it’s come at a price. Everyone has been seen as competition, and he hasn’t gotten close to anyone or really had friends because of that. Old habits die hard and Vaughn starts out on the wrong foot with the Slayers … and Natalie’s brother because of it.
Natalie is the girl next door … who happens to have a NHL superstar brother that captured her parent’s attention when she was a kid and caused her to move several times in school. Because she’s decided that the sportsman WAG life is not for her, the most ironclad rule she has is not to date hockey players.
…. but apparently it’s ok to go on a date (vs date-date) one! Ms. Kelly has woven a story with threads of familiar friends as supporting characters, challenges to long held beliefs and swoon worthy steamy romance that sizzles, all amid threats of career ending extra curricular activities. Vaughn and Natalie try to stay away from each other but quickly discover they can’t … and really don’t want to! Greg is overly protective of his sister … and in a hate – hate relationship with Vaughn.
The writing, infused with drama, steam, and good old fashioned romance, kept me engaged .. and made me late for work as I couldn’t put it down with 20% left to go! The story moves along with each chapter going back and forth between Natalie and Vaughn’s perspective, which was the best part of all. Vaughn is all in on Team Natalie and reading from his perspective is utterly sigh-worthy.

That quote is the best way I can describe how I feel about this book. You can plan for your future all you want but that doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen that way. There are way to many hidden factors. That is what happens to Vaughn and Allie/Natalie in this book. They both had plans, they both had goals/dreams. They never truly saw each other coming. But once they connected they were never the same.
I just loved this book. I could feel the chemistry pouring off the pages throughout the whole thing. My heart loved it but couldn’t take it at the same time. If you want to feel love read this story. This is a new to me author who I took a chance on and I am so glad that I did!
Wow. I adored this book SO MUCH. The chemistry between Vaughn and Natalie pulled me in from page one. And I was soooo worried – I genuinely didn’t know how they’d get to their HEA. But Mira Lyn Kelly is masterful that way #nospoilers. I was blown away by the heat and the heart of this book. I can’t wait to read more in this series. So terrific!
4.5 stars
Dirty Secret is my first Mira Lyn Kelly book but I just let me one click finger loose! I loved everything about this book. A sexy, funny, growly but big-hearted book, Dirty Secret is the first book in the Slayers Hockey series.
They weren’t supposed to happen, they definitely weren’t supposed to keep happening. They are the worst possible choice for each other and it wrecks all their individual plans. You know what they say about making plans…
Allie and Vaughn are dynamite from their first meeting and the sparks keep flying despite all it could cost them. Vaughn is determined to stay away from Allie, knowing it could cost him his career but for the first time in his life, something is more important than hockey. Fantastic book, awesome cast of characters (with my favorite game as a major character) and chemistry that leaps off the page. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Vaughn Vasser is a hot shot hockey player with a bad attitude. After being traded to a team where the captain is his long time rival, he’s just biding his time until he’s picked up by another team. If he can keep his nose clean and work on his image.
Natalie Baxter is tired of being in her hockey star brothers shadow. She’s sworn to never date a player- that life is the furthest from what she wants.
But a chance encounter in Vancouver allows her to be someone else for the night- after all she’ll never see him again, right?
Fast forward to that player being traded to her brothers team and those sparks become full in flames!
I love the dynamic between Vasser and Allie! She can see in him what no one else does and he sees her for who she is not who her brother is! The secondary characters are as endearing as the main characters. The banter between teamsters is so funny and right on the money!
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story with strong characters, off the charts chemistry and a love story that stands on its own!
LOVED! I love a great hockey story but add the forbidden element and I am over the moon! Great characters in a great story!! Amazing!
