The master of the tease.
The god of rock.
Frontman of the world’s most desired band, Youth Gone Wild.
I’m Rhett Ryan, and I get what I want.
Women? They were lining up.
Money? I had enough.
Accolades? My shelves were full
Love? I didn’t have time for that.
Not until I had no choice but to pay attention to the last woman I expected to fall for.
My beautiful, sassy publicist, Julia goddamn Speed. publicist, Julia goddamn Speed.
She was a vital part of the band’s success, and she was as off-limits as they came. I’d never wanted anything more in my life. But Julia wasn’t like the rest, and my advances only pushed her further away. She was the first woman to make me work for it, and Christ, did I suddenly want to work for it!
Even if I knew it would end in disaster.
Even if I knew there would be tears.
I was willing to play dirty to make it happen.
I just had no idea how much I’d change in the process, or how something that had once been my everything would soon become nothing because I’d jumped into the forbidden with her.
Stupid, Reckless Rhett.

Another amazing book!! The words just seemed to flow and turn into this masterpiece before your eyes.
This book has everything you want and need from a book..love, lust, hate, in fact I felt every emotion possible.
I wasn’t that taken with Rhett in Cherry Beats but my god by the end of this book I wanted to be jules!
I haven’t got the words to describe how truly amazing this book is. All I know is that I wish I could scrub it from my brain and read it for the first time again!!

Holly molly wow Rhett im just sooooo for him.
I thought I loved the way Presley was but nope Vick has kicked it out of the ball park with Rhett.
Rhett made everyone think he was all about the party life and always just wanted drugs alcohol and sex after every gig but in reality he was doing all of that to Drown out his pain and emptiness he felt.
Julia was the bands publicists and at first Rhett couldn’t stand the thought of being around her let alone be with her.
Then one night changed it all. When something horrible happened to Julia and she wanted to forget about it she got drunk and threw her self at Rhett and he wanted it just as much as she did but her turned her down because he didnt want her to regret it the next day. After that night he was hooked, something changed in him and he started seeing Julia in a different light that scared him.
Now this story has you laughing, a bit of crying and awhole lot of turned on. You MUST read to find out what happens under the sheets and how HOT Rhett is.
Each and every word in this book did one of two things to my heart- broke it apart or pieced it back together.
Rock star Rhett Ryan has a huge chip on his shoulder. Publicist Julia Speed seems to have it all together. But there’s more to both of them than meets the eye, and that’s where this angsty, heartbreaking, heartfelt story digs deep into your soul and makes itself at home.
With the exception of the epilogue, Dirty Rock is told exclusively from the hero’s POV– not something often done in romance. But being the frontman of one of the world’s biggest rock bands, it makes sense that Rhett be the storyteller here, and James does a beautiful job of diving deep into the psyche of a man who thought he’d achieved his dreams, only to realize that what he thought he wanted wasn’t it at all, and what he truly needed was something he never expected, and how he struggles to feel worthy of having it.
Dirty Rock, just like Cherry Beats, was a story that grabbed hold of my heart right from the prologue and held tight like the melody of my favorite song right up until the very end.
Unputdownable.
Unforgettable.
Definitely re-readable.
Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! Oh my… I want to run around the room laughing, crying and letting every emotion pour out of me after reading Rhett and Julia’s story.
I knew when I read Cherry Beats that I needed more from Rhett and by goodness have I been given more. He is everything… rough and ready, hard and yet soft, bad boy rocker and yet dream worthy perfection… absolute swoon-worthy-ness in one man.
Then there’s Julia. Oh my goodness how I love her. Here story is heartbreaking in places and yet she is so strong and loveable that I felt as if I knew her personally. I loved the push and pull that came from her feelings about Rhett, loved how they both grew throughout the story, in fact there was absolutely nothing that I didn’t love about this book. If I could give it more stars I really would because believe me it deserves waaaay more!
Now Ms James any chance we can have more stories from Youth Gone Wild please?
3.5 Stars
Rhett Ryan – typical rockstar, filthy-mouthed, huge ego, overdoses in drugs, women, and alcohol.
Julia Speed – the strait-laced publicist. They are as opposites as can be. Of course, there’s an attraction.
She’s good for him, she keeps him on his toes. He’s used to having women fall over themselves, this one he had to put in the work.

Vicki James has done it again….I don’t know what to say!!! Rhett and Julia broke my heart a few times troughout their story. Get ready for a ride full of emotions….It was a push and pull between those two from the start and for me they were just perfect for each other! James beautiful writing will pull you in and not let you go untill the last word…..and will you have begging for more!
“If she wanted to play, we were going to play.
I knew who was going to crumble first.
Over my dead body would it be me” Rhett F**** Ryan
I can only recommend this amazing story!!!

Five Stars is not enough!
This book was amazing! I cannot stop thinking about the story and the characters. Rhett Ryan first made an appearance in Cherry Beats. He was a cocky rock star. I didn’t care much for him because of his attitude. Dirty Rocks comes around, the whole book is focused on him and now I couldn’t love this character more. The story is written from Rhett’s point of view which I think makes it that much better. No guessing what’s going on inside his head. I loved it!
I wish I could find the words to describe how unbelievably good this book is!
This is one of those books that immediately after finishing, I wanted to completely wash from my brain and read it again like it was the first time. I feel like I need a few days off from reading after this book because whatever book I read next is not going to get a fair shot. This is going to be a hard one to follow.
We have already met the frontman of Youth Gone Wild in Cherry Beats. I thought I knew Rhett Ryan but I was wrong. Strap yourself in, hold on tight and prepare to get to know the real man beneath this Rock God’s public persona…. you are in for an emotional and enthralling ride.
Rhett Ryan – Like him or not, he’s got everything that many men yearn. Good looks; Success and a constant flow of women who all want their moment with the bad boy of rock (I really can’t blame them!). He’s the lead singer of one of the biggest rock bands and has the world at his feet. He is cocky, arrogant and wants for nothing….. that is until Julia Speed catches his eye.
Julia is strong, squeaky-clean, hardworking and ambitious. She likes to be in control and is respected by many. For three years she’s been employed as the band’s publicist and she knows Rhett better than himself. Rhett never imagined that he would find any woman who would interest him to consider having something more than just a one night stand with and even though he knows that she is forbidden, nothing is going to dissuade him from pursuing Julia because what he wants, he usually gets….. and this time he has set his sights on her.
I’m not going to lie, I do love a bad boy Rockstar. What I didn’t expect was to start handing over pieces of my heart to Rhett in the very first chapter of this book. I absolutely loved getting to know the real Rhett and witness him transform before my very eyes. Once you get to know Julia you can see just how perfect she is for Rhett and I really didn’t want anything to mess up this chance of them both finding their HEAs together because I thought he was as equally perfect for her too. I am certain that you will find yourself rooting for them from the word go (I know I certainly was). Julia is an incredible person who I admire immensely and I have really enjoyed discovering the woman who hides behind a clipboard and mobile phone.
Rhett’s story is one not to be missed. Vicki James has penned yet another epic read! Dirty Rock is written from Rhett’s POV which is perfect that the songwriter tells us his incredible story in his own amazing words, expressing his feelings and thoughts. I just know you are going to love the push and pull dynamics between Rhett and Julia. I must warn you that the chemistry between them is off the charts!!
You will love being back on the road with Youth Gone Wild. Rhett always puts on one hell of a performance on his stage, now I am recommending that you sit back and enjoy a show that unveils a personal life that he never expected to be starring in.
Rhett Effing Ryan!
The rock god has himself a bit of a reputation. Well earned, but let’s face it, the status suits the man. Rhett is a dirty-mouthed frontman who likes his drugs and alcohol. We got a bit of that from Cherry Beats, but being in his mind is outrageous. Vicki James actually outdid herself with this book. I didn’t think anyone would wind their way into my heart as Presley West did, but I was wrong. Rhett strut right into my chest and punched his way into my heart without apology.
Rhett Effing Ryan OWNS me.
Vicki’s take on the behind the scenes world of Rock and Roll stars is a unique one, which is laced completely with the raw reality of how they’re expected to live up to unrealistic expectations. There’s a realism in her writing that rings true and drags you into the world until you’re yelling at the pages. I immersed myself in this world, twice! I still can’t get enough of Rhett and I can’t get enough of the publicist extraordinaire Julia Speed, who, quite honestly, is the only woman alive who can see the man behind the bullshit!
I could wax lyrical about this book all day, it’s one of my favorite books, but I feel like it has to be experienced. Nothing I can say will ever live up to the legendary status this book will have, so read and experience it for yourself. You will fall in love I just as much as I have.
Well done, Vicki James, on yet another Rock legend and I can’t wait for more… Thank you for giving us Rhett Ryan!
“Are you with me?”
Exquisite
Heart melting
Consuming
Perfection
Rhett Ryan and Julia Speed.
I have zero words.
You are now the proud owners of my heart and soul.
“I loved her. She was the only woman I’d ever loved so openly. It fucking terrified me how much I loved her, and yet how easy I found it to walk away.
Still. I walked away.”
If ever there was a novel to completely slay me, crack me wide open, tear my heart apart to then slowly repair it, this is it, because let me tell you Dirty Rock did that with zero apology. Not once did Rhett and Jules give an inch. They didn’t allow me to come up for air, keeping me hostage until I read every single scene, soaked up every single chapter, drowned in every single emotion.
And what was even more mind blowing was the ease as which they did it. I didn’t even realize myself until I was reading the very last sentence that they literally held on to me and wouldn’t let go until they were done telling me their story.
And my god what a story it was.
Youth Gone Wild, Rhett Ryan the front man, Julia Speed the publicist. Yeah I know, I know it feels very much yet another rock star falls for publicist romance.
But let me make this very clear and with shouty capitals….
IT’S NOT PEOPLE. IT’S SO FAR FROM THAT!
Dirty Rock is a unique telling of what it’s like behind the glitz, fame and glamour of the rock star life. It delves into the mind of Rhett and everything that his own fame and fortune never seems to deliver on. It tells a story of pain, extreme vulnerability and what life feels like when you’re surrounded by nothing but noise, never being able to find that inner peace that in reality we all search for.
And Jules, where does she fit in?
I don’t want to give it away, but please know that Jules fits perfectly into this masterpiece and is perfect for all things Rhett.
“Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be perfect. Every broken stone you stand on leads to the smooth grass or the soft sand eventually. When you get to where you’re meant to be, you’ll be thankful for the journey, no matter how rough. Remember that, Rhett.”
Dirty Rock is an elaborate piece, flawlessly presented, detailed perfectly, packed with emotion that I can’t recommend highly enough.
Guys you need to get on it.
