The thing about hitting rock bottom… screams at him to go, so he goes.
And thank God he does.
There isn’t any farther you can fall…
Freya hits bottom after her brother’s death. Her rock. Her best friend. Her everything. Gone.
She always knew it was a possibility that he might get hurt while on shift, but she never entertains the thought of him dying. Not until it’s too late.
She literally has nothing else to lose. Until she meets him. Ridley Walker. A biker with The Uncertain Saints MC and a local sheriff’s deputy.
The man responsible for taking away her best friend.
But at least you have a solid foundation to build upon…
The last thing Freya wants is to fall in love with the man responsible for her brother’s death. She doesn’t want to care that he is nearly killed. She doesn’t want to have anything to do with him.
But she can’t stay away.
And neither can he.

Ridley has been one that i wanted to finally have something go right for him. he hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to the love department. Freya is alone after her brother died. Ridley was a little curious about the sister that was left behind by the man that was killed in an accident that his sister survived. then when Ridley goes undercover in a prison and is given an phone number to use if he needs it, is one thing that brings Freya into his life more than he was wanting any woman to be. he doesn’t want to want her, but sometime there is no fighting what the heart wants.
the chemistry between these two is one that helps open the eyes of Ridley finally since he lost his wife. and it is with Freya’s help that he is able to finally come to terms and move on to find that happiness that he deserves.
Dirty Mother is book 5 in the Uncertain Saints MC series. While you could read this as a standalone I highly recommend reading this series in order.
Freya and Ridley meet at the hospital, she’s an ER nurse who absolutely hates her job. Not the patient part, the coworkers, they treat her like complete and total crap. Walking all over her and taking advantage of the fact that she’s shy and refuses to stand up for herself.
Upon witnessing this Ridley stands up for her, putting the worst of her abusers in her place quite efficiently.
Ridley’s a police officer and a member of the Uncertain Saints MC.
He’s a good man, one who won’t turn his back when someone needs help and he has a feeling Freya needs help.
Just out of gut instinct he follows her home, what he finds when he looks through her window is not what he expected.
She’s hit bottom.
As in ready to give up.
She’s lost her brother, her best friend, the only person left that she truly loved.
He was always there for her, was her sole support system and now she’s alone and so broken.
Ridley can’t walk away from her in her condition.
He befriends her and through that they seem to have a connection.
Unexpectedly he has to leave her. His brother brings trouble to his door and he’s basically forced to go undercover to save protect those he loves.
Freya once again feels abandoned, she continues to text her brothers phone only now she starts getting replies.
Ridley’s hidden phone happens to be her brothers old number giving them a continued line to each other even though she shouldn’t know where he is or what he’s doing.
Coincidence?
Fate?
Whatever you wanna call it, this connection was meant to be.
Just when it seems like things are done and Ridley’s family is safe something big pops up and could cost Freya her life…..
Love, love, LOVED Ridley & Freya’s story!! Not that I haven’t said that before about a Lani Lynn Vale book. This series just gets better and better with each book. The characters will burrow their way into your heart and not leave, I find myself wanting just one more chapter every time I reach the end of a book in this series, I’m just never ready for them to be over.
4.5 stars.
This was a great book that gave me all the feels. I laughed, cried and kept me on the edge of my seat. The drama in this one was good but not over the top.
Starting off you just feel so bad for Freya but as the story progresses you realize she is a strong woman who has faced some hard times but always has a smile on her face.
Then there is Ridley who is haunted by his past but is really trying to move on but doesn’t until he meets Freya and realizes what she means to him.
This was a great story and I definitely recommend reading it.
Intense and Emotional! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Ridley & Freya have a past that is entwined together… and find happiness on the other side. Freya has not had an easy road, she has lost the person that she loves the most… her brother. Darkness looms around her and her days are never happy. A text changes her life and she hangs on for dear life.
She never expects for Ridley to enter her life or to make it better. Ridley has to go away for an undercover job for three months. Then a single text connects him to a woman that changes everything.
In true Lani Lynn Vale fashion there is danger and drama, I wouldn’t want it any other way!
5 Stars!
An emotionally beautiful ride to go on with Freya and Ridley. They are both encompassed by grief, but their unusual friendship starts their healing process. Ridley is gruff, rough, and down right mean at times. Freya was sweet, tender, and adorable. I loved these two together. They brought out a different side to each other. I absolutely loved this story.
This is the 5th book in the Uncertain Saints Series and I would have to say it is my favourite. This is Ridley’s story. His wife was murdered 5 years ago and he can’t let go and won’t move on. A chance meeting in the hospital with a beautiful timid blonde nurse who is being bullied by the name of Freya makes Ridley start to think about a woman in a way that makes him feel guilty about his dead wife and her memory. Freya is also the sister of Ridley’s dead coworker Corey. As Freya starts to feel more and more for Ridley he tries to push her away. However as Freya’s life is put in danger due to Ridley the need to protect her and claim her as his takes over. This is the story of two broken souls brought together to mend each other. Strong Alpha Male with steamy hot scenes, suspense, drama and a good old fashioned love story to tie it all together. Five stars all the way.
I know I said it before, however, this is yet another great read from Mani Lynn Vale! I really enjoyed Freya and Ridley’s story.
This is the fifth book in The Uncertain Saints MC series. I’m so happy that we finally get Ridley’s story. We already knew his wife was murdered from previous books. We also already knew how protective he is.
I loved seeing the changes in Ridley once he met Freya. She broke all his barriers, and he broke all his rules.
I can understand why he was hesitant with a relationship. Especially with what he was doing for work.
Freya, my heart broke for her. She loved her brother so much. I will admit I was worried about her. She was this shy, quite, doormat-like woman at work. But we get to see changes in her also.
I loved the growth of both characters in this book.
I absolutely love this series.
I love the sayings at the beginning of each chapter.
“There was no elf on the shelf when I was a kid. There was a belt on the shelf. When I have kids, there’ll be a belt. Why? Because I don’t want to raise an asshole.”
~Text from Ridley to Freya
“I’ve come to a point in my life where I need a stronger word than ‘fuck’.”
~Text from Freya to Ridley
This is the 5th book in the Uncertain Saints MC series and yes you need to read the other books, in fact I say read all of Lani’s books from Boomtown on as they all have returning characters and such.
So, this is Ridley’s story. At the end of Bad Apple, we knew that he was going undercover, but we didn’t know just what he was getting into. Ridley has been living a shell of a life, the guilt he feels keeps him from moving on, and he is watching everyone else that he loves find their HEA. Will he let go of this guilt long enough to find his own?
Freya is broken, she is alone now and for brief moments considers death as her way out from the crippling loneliness that she feels, but a chance encounter gives her just a little bit of hope, and someone to talk to. But will the trouble that Ridley is getting into bounce back to Freya? Will either survive?
I love Lani Lynn Vale’s stories, they always take me to another place, like watching this movie in my head, and with her series, I always try and do rereads as there are so many people and things going on you want to be fresh so to speak when you read the new story. I found this to be once again an amazing story with some of the most awesome sexy time. I did not like that the happenings in the previous books and this seem to change, maybe its just me that noticed. I do give this a 4.5 as it still kept me on my toes.
Great read!
I was excited for Ridley & Freya’s story & really enjoyed it! Their relationship goes thru lots of bumps, but I thought they were really well done. : )
Love Ridley and Freya. Ridley took up for Freya the first time he saw her. Not knowing how small the world really is. Then he falls for the woman. The circumstances of their coming together had so many factors. They are meant to be from the first meeting in that hospital.
