Dirty Like Brody is the second full-length novel in the Dirty series—a rockstar romance series about the members of the rock band Dirty and the women and men who love them.
Novels in the Dirty series are interconnected standalones, each with an HEA; other books (novella/story collection) are not HEA, but are essential pieces of the overall story arcs. (There are ongoing storylines that develop throughout the series; reading the books in order is not crucial but is HIGHLY recommended.)
Reading order:
Dirty Like Me (Dirty #1)
Dirty Like Us (Dirty #0.5) (novella)
Dirty Like Brody (Dirty #2)
A Dirty Wedding Night (Dirty #2.5)(story collection)
Dirty Like Seth (Dirty #3)
Dirty Like Dylan (Dirty #4)
Dirty Like Jude (Dirty #5)
Dirty Like Zane (Dirty #6)
… And be sure to check out the Players rockstar romance series (a spinoff from the Dirty series!), starting with the first book: Hot Mess (Players #1)!

I love a good rock star romance and here we get the romance and then some. We get Jesse & Katie’s wedding and Jessa & Brody’s truth of their life. In the first we met Brody, who is the band’s manager and Jessa is Jesse’s little sister and she is a songwriter with other band members but she can’t stay part of the band so she runs from the idea. She becomes a model and for six and a half years she feels guilty about a lot of things. So now it is time for her to come clean with Brody and herself, and see if they can make a future together.
Jessa has always loved Brody, from the very first time she met him when she was eight years old, she began falling for him. But will all the band members feeling like her brothers and Brody wanting to protect her too, she turned to someone that she thought would help her but in the end, all it did was make her feel guilty and run away.
Brody can’t let Jessa hurt him again but he can’t let her walk away again. He has loved her for too long. He only wants to protect her and make her happy. He knows something happened to make her run all those years ago but she will not talk to him about it. He has to get her to talk to him before she runs again.
What happens when Brody learns the truth? Can Jessa trust those she loves to tell them the truth of why she left? Can she stay and write songs again? Will there be a future for Brody and Jessa after the truth comes out?
I love this series and can’t wait to see what happens next. If you love a good rock star romance then you need to read this series, I would recommend reading them in order, you can read them as a standalone, but you don’t want to miss anything. So sit back and enjoy the “Dirty” ride.
**A copy provided by the author and this is my honest review**
I binge read the entire Dirty series and loved every minute of it!! I didn’t stop to rate/review While in between books, I just went right into the next – the teaser at the end of each book for the next is to blame for that!! I’m going to do one catch all review and copy/paste it to each book. READ THE SERIES if you’ve not already. And START FROM THE BEGINNING! I know the author says they are interconnected standalone book and while that is true, you will so much more enjoy the books by reading them all-in order. In Dirty Like Me, book 1 we get to know Jesse and Katie. Jesse is the lead guitarist for the band Dirty. He meets Katie, a regular girl who inadvertently lands a modeling job as his love interest in a video he’s making, only she’s not a model and was surprised to learn that her BFF who is the talent-scout who roped her into this gig without telling her that the video is of the two of them in bed together. Jesse and Katie end up spending a lot of time together (he pays her to do so 😉 and…it’s a great story!! These two are my favorite! As Jaine does with all her characters in this series, she keeps Jesse and Katie alive in her subsequent books so we keep up with them! Book 2 is Dirty Like Brody is great too! A long time overdue, FINALLY coming together of Brody and Jessa (Jesse’s sister) who’ve always loved each other. Their reunion was a bit tense and Brody quite grumpy, lol. But things work out and a baby is made! Book 3 A Wedding Night – don’t miss it! Catch up on Jesse and Katie at their wedding. Steamy, witty, funny, loved it! Plus you get more on everyone else and you will definitely want to know for the next books! Dirty like Seth. Elle, who’s Jesse’s former girlfriend before Katie, is still nurturing her broken heart over Jesse when their former band mate Seth returns to the band. Seth comes back after kicking drugs and some other drama involving Jessa and not everyone is immediately thrilled he’s returned. Elle is drawn to him and wants to support him and They end up spending time together and…baby #2 is made!! Dirty Like Dylan – WHOA! Dylan; Dirty’s HOT drummer, and his best friend Ash (man) share. They take best friends to the next level!! And they meet Amber who’s just been contracted to take pictures while Dylan shoots an underwear commercial – yes with his drum kit! They want to share Amber. Amber is up for it! Amber is a lucky lucky woman! Super steamy with some real affections taking place. It doesn’t end well for everyone and feelings are hurt. It sucks, but more to come in subsequent books (like in the Players series which I am just now starting). Dirty Like Jude- not gonna lie. Skipped it. I have not been a fan of Roni, Jude’s love interest in the previous books. I don’t like her. She’s selfish. So I couldn’t make myself read it. Dirty Like Zane – Awesome way to wrap up the series!! Dirty’s front man has been very prominent in the series and we know so much about his rocky relationship with Maggie: their manager, assistant to Brody. Lots of secret and finally are revealed! Oh! And read Dirty Like Us (0.5 Novella) for more on these two BEFORE reading this or really the others! Zane has been through a lot as the front man of dirty and has a lot to over come but there’s no party without him; sober or otherwise! I pictured an 80s David Lee Roth when I thought about Zane’s characters. He and Maggie are definitely my 2nd favorite. Throughout the series we keep up with Jesse and Katie and what’s going on with them. Same with the others. All around a 5 for me! Absolutely loved the series and would be thrilled for more books on Dirty to catch me up with what they are all up to these days!
Absolutely loved this book and all the others in the series. Fabulous author
Jessa was a hot mess! Holy cow the emotions she will push you into. Don’t get me wrong, this book was written beautifully. A major head f*** for sure. If you can’t handle a roller coaster of emotions, its not for you. Both Jessa and Brody were extremely frustrating characters. Again: IF YOU CANNOT EMOTIONALLY INVEST YOURSELF IN A BOOK, this one is not for you. It’s definitely deeper than the first book and a lot more real, not so fairy tale. I’m nervous about the next book but will most certainly be reading it. All in all, I Love love loved! highly recommend!
Addictive series
Well you guessed it, this book is about our favorite Dirty manager, Brody. What is more beautiful, and heart-wrenching, than seeing someone loving someone else so long and so much that they are piece of them even when they have not seen each other in 6 years? Absolutely nothing. Brody is a sweltering and broody hottie that has only loved one lucky lady, but the road has not been easy. In fact, it was almost as if there was a freaking cave in on their journey.
The lucky lady that has his heart is Jessa, sister to Dirty guitarist Jesse, who seems pretty fragile in the beginning. She ran away 6 years ago to live her own life and try to figure out what she wants. Even with all of her brother’s persistence she never returned home, until after her brother’s wedding. She is finally starting to see exactly what she wants for herself, which is exactly what it was 10 years before that time.
This story is not lighthearted, it will make your heart burst from wanting these two to end up together and for them to fix everything that had once stood in their way.
I am not gonna lie, out of all of the books, I related less to Jessa than any other leading lady. She grew some balls towards the end, which I admired and started to like her more. But even after getting a bit miffed towards the end, this book was great and I was so happy with the ending!
Scorch Levels: Put 2 people together that have loved each other for YEARS, of course the scorch is going to be insane!
I’ve become a fan of Jaine Diamond and her boys and girls in the rock band Dirty. This is Brody and Jessa’s story and it is written with the drama that seems to usually follow bad boys in famous bands. Dirty was a band made up of childhood friends who are more like family than anyting else and like most families along with their love comes a lot of heartache. Brody was always their friend; just not one of the friends with musical talent. His talent came in the form of being their manager and he did well for the boys and himself. Brody had a tough life and took on a bad boy persona from the start but he also became the savior of Jessa Mayes. As kids Brody took to Jessa but knew with the age difference at that time he could only admire her from afar even though she was the kid sister to his best friend Jesse. This meant that Brody had watched Jessa grow up into an amazingly beautiful woman. Jessa had talent not only being a lyricist to a lot of Dirty’s music but also as a model.
Jessa was dealing with her demons that she let take her from the only family she knew and kept her from them for six years. The only thing bringing Jessa back at this time was her brother’s wedding. The man she ran from was going to be there…along with his girlfriend. That had to hurt but she couldn’t stop watching Brody. As for Brody he was pissed off that after all of this time Jessa had not once answered any of his calls or messages. Just how long was Brody to wait for Jessa? That attraction was still there but along with that attraction came all of the demons that had sent Jessa running away from her friends and family. So what did send Jessa running and how long can you actually expect someone to wait? Is loving someone worth the risk that they may very well hurt you and/or leave you yet again?
Ms. Diamond has done a great job again of bringing you characters that she molds into people you can’t get enough of and leaves you feeling totally invested in their lives. Dirty Like Brody takes you in and behind the music scene along with taking your heart and putting it all out there. This is one of the series that always has me waiting with great anticipation as to who we are going to be up close and personal with next!
