An Amazon Charts and Washington Post bestseller. From New York Times bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes an unexpected love story that started with a boy and girl and heats up when the man and woman reconnect.I’d never forgotten him—a man I’d yet to meet.Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through … been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break.
Until one day it did.
Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one—one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing.
Griffin forgave me, and somehow we were able to rekindle our childhood connection. Only now we were adults, and that connection had grown to a spark. Our letters quickly went from fun to flirty to downright dirty, revealing our wildest fantasies. So it only made sense that we would take our relationship to the next level and see each other in person.
Only Griff didn’t want to meet. He asked that I trust him and said it was for the best. But I wanted more—more Griff, in the flesh—so I took a big chance and went looking for him. People have done crazier things for love.
But what I found could change everything.

It’s an unexpected love story that starts long before the lovers meet. A second chance romance of the pen pals reunite kind!
I love both Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward individually as authors and as a duo. They never fail to make me smile and swoon. Vi Pen tick every box with this fabulously steamy, emotionally poignant, laugh out loud romance!
After binge reading all of Vi Keeland’s and Penelope Ward’s other co-written works recently, this story was a highly anticipated one for me and it was worth the wait. Loved their sexy take on the pen pal storyline and especially happy to be able to relive the story through the bonus song at the end.
An original, captivating story with sexy, swoony characters and fantastic writing! Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward never disappoint!

Luca is on her way to New York City to finally clear out her dad’s apartment. The only problem is … she doesn’t do New York. Or any public places really. She gets panic attacs whenever something is too overwhelming or too full of people. But she has to do this!
In her dad’s apartment she finds a letter – addressed to her. Something she hasn’t seen in eight years. A letter from Griffin. He was her pen pal in school since she was only seven years old! He was her best friend. But then things happened and she stopped writing.
He didn’t stop for a long time. And he’s mad at her for never answering.
She’s answering now – and those childish and teenaged letters they used to write change into something much more adult!
But how can a scared recluse from Vermont find her happily ever after with a famous person from Los Angeles?
Let the fun times begin!
What will happen to Luca & Griffin?
Will there be a HEA?

THAT WAS SO ADORABLE!!
Luca is so cute! Ever since what happened to her years ago, she’s so scared of things but she still has an amazing job and an adorable pet and an amazing almost-live-in therapist!
And Griffin. Sexy, rich, famous. He should be over the moon happy. He has everything he ever dreamed of. But there are many bad sides to this life. He would rather be living with Luca in her Vermont loneliness.
But he loves his job too and he wants nothing more than to combine their lives in some way – but that won’t be easy – maybe even impossible.
I really adored their love story. It was so cute to read their old and new letters. To see how they went from talking about childish stuff to more sexy things.
The whole book is somewhat calm. Maybe a little too calm here and there for my tastes. There’s no arguing and no fighting and no … no idea. It’s like Griffin tries to be all nice and quiet … he doesn’t want to spook Luca. It was a tiny bit too much for me. It makes Griffin a bit too softish. Not really the manly hottie I was hoping for. But I still loved him. He’s so sweet with her … perfect book boyfriend material! And now that I’m done with the book I almost deleted what I just wrote, because it got better, but it’s still a little bit quiet. But I really adored the book. Griffin is amazing! And Luca is trying so hard to fight her way out of her fear!
I cried a lot!
This book has a really great cast of people/animals – I sooo wouldn’t mind seeing this on TV one day!
Also Christmas is very soon – where can you buy a little pet pig around here? Asking for a friend!
DIRTY LETTERS was such a sweet and fun and heartbreaking kinda-second-chance love story! I adored (aaaalllmost) everything about it! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Griffin & Hortencia – these two are MINE!!!!
P.S. I LOVE that the cover – but that goes without saying with all the Vi & Penelope books!!! LOVE THEM!
Wow. This book. I don’t know what to say about this book. I really really loved it. And I identified a lot with the heroine. I swear I ugly-cried during several parts of this book, including the ending which were good tears. It was the best ending. I also loved the use of fate and synchronicities. Things like that really happen. Also the thing about the cardinals. I loved that.
I absolutely LOVE the idea of pen pals turning into lovers, and this amazing book did not disappoint me!
This description hits EVERY HOT SPOT in my reader bones – I can’t WAIT to read this new release from Vi and Penelope! And if you have Amazon PRIME – this is FREE for you!

Dirty Letters by the charismatic writing duo Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland was one of those standalones that you soon won’t forget.
As always these two ladies never disappoint when it comes to their book covers and this one was by far my favorite. ViP really shone the light on mental health, bringing awareness to anxiety/agoraphobia. It is debilitating and a daily struggle and we witness it first hand in our heroine, Luca.
Luca is 25 and faces the daunting task of driving from Vermont to Manhattan to clear out her father’s apartment whom has recently passed. She has a set schedule and brings her theparist along to accompany her. Its whilst she’s going through her father’s mail that she discovers a letter from Griffin, her old pen pal from elementary school. They remained friends and wrote each other everyday until they were 17. After Luca’s traumatic accident, she stopped writing him. It’s been 8 years and Luca feels regretful and wants to make amends. She decides to reply back just hoping Griffin will find it in his heart to forgive her.
That’s how our story begins. Griffin reconnects with his old and dear friend. Unbeknownst to Luca, Griffin isn’t your average Joe, he’s actually a very famous musician. Will the fame and spotlight put an end to their relationship?
I struggled to connect with Luca which was one of the reasons I dropped a star. But Griffin, I couldn’t get enough of him and his sexiness. An equally emotional journey, Dirty Letters is such a sweet and endearing romance that will have you shedding a tear or two along the way. I recommend it 100%!
*SWOON*
Y’all, Dirty Letters will soo give you ALL the feels…I had freaking goosebumps at the end of the book!!!
I also had that ooey gooey feeling like warm chocolate chip cookies in my tummy..haha
I don’t know what it is about books about letters or texting, but I really love them. Maybe because they really show those true feelings in the characters minds and in their hearts. Of course Dirty Letters was freaking AMAZING!!
This book is about Griffin and Luca . They had been childhood Penpals. But as they grew up, one of them stopped writing. Life happened. One continued to write off and on but the other felt it was too late to continue on until one day. Of course in pure Vi and Penelope fashion, they made one Hell ova fun, quirky read that will leave you with that silly grin on your face and a very warm heart!!!
Make sure you pick up Dirty Letters on release day…it’s just around the corner and fall in love with Griffin and Luca!!!!
Thank you for another 5 Star read my Fav Writing Duo!!!!
What an original, fresh and oh so swoony story from this dynamic writing duo!
This beautiful story, which spans years, about Griffin and Luca is what a love story should be.
You get humor, heat and the swoons, all the swoons! I laughed, I cried and I fell in love hard with all the characters in this story.
The power of love prevails throughout this story. This is also a story of loss and how it affects people in different ways.
Luca is a broken soul, trying to find a new place in the world. Her devastating loss molds her into the person she is today. I could so empathize with her character and her bravery knows no bounds.
Griffin has got to be one of the swooniest heroes I have ever read! (And I have read a lot!) . The things he does and the strides he takes to make sure he can keep Luca in his world is amazing!
Destiny and fate play a huge role in this story, whether you believe in both or not, this story brings the magic of both and will make even the hardest of hearts believe!
Again, one of the most original stories I have read in a long time! This is definitely in the running for one of my “Best Reads of 2019!”
These two amazing authors have done it again………. I LOVE IT! The letter writing between Griffin and Luca is so awesome, I wish I had more letters from the two of them. The fact that he loved her since they were kids was so heart warming, and then he grows up into this talented, beautiful man and reconnects with Luca. Once the letters start rolling the chemistry between Griffin and Luca just gets hotter! He wants to help her overcome her fears and wants to stand by her through all of them, but his career is part of her fears! This book is incredible!
Wow! Penelope and Vi once again have written a super emotional story that tugs at the heartstrings! I loved the premise of this story, how Luca and Griffin started out as penpals at the age of 7 and over the years wrote tons of letters back and forth, forming an incredible connection even though they’d never met in person.
My heart absolutely went out to Luca. Suffering through a tragic circumstance, she closes herself off to everything and everyone, including Griffin. Eight years ago she stopped responding to his letters, and one day out of the clear blue, she gets one from him. He’s hurt and angry and confused as to why she stopped writing, so she finally responds and explains it all.
I loved the way Penelope and Vi crafted this story. Letters back and forth between Luca and Griffin, re-establishing their friendship, and morphing over time into something more, something deeper that they both still feel.
Griffin was an absolute gem. Even though he’s a rockstar, and lived that rockstar lifestyle, once he connected with Luca again, he stayed true to her, even before they ever met in person. He is a thoughtful, caring, devoted guy who wanted to give Luca everything. And he never gave up on her, even when she doubted herself. He sees Luca through some pretty dark moments and never once walked away, even when she tried to set him free.
Luca deals with some pretty intense issues that severely limit her in many ways, and Penelope and Vi do an incredible job of detailing what a day in the life of Luca is like. It’s heartbreaking to read about, and the only saving grace was Doc, who stood by Luca through it all. What an amazing secondary character he was, as was Hortencia.
It won’t be a spoiler to reveal that this story has a happy ending. I loved seeing that Luca and Griffin were forging a path forward together. My only critique would be that the story wrapped up a little too quickly for me. Griffin “tells” us in the end that Luca is pushing through her fears, but the reader doesn’t see any of that. There’s one scene at the end, but with so many of the scenes throughout the book showing the reader what Luca dealt with, I would have liked to see some more scenes that showed us the triumphs she experienced along the way to counterbalance so many of the rough times she had.
Overall, the story was a rollercoaster of emotions. I cried, I laughed, I got the warm and fuzzies, I experienced anger and sadness, goofiness and smiles, you name it, I felt it. And if Penelope and Vi wanted to write some bonus scenes, or maybe even a novella to give us more of Luca and Griffin, I would be totally fine with that!
Luca and Griffin became pen pals when they were in grade school, Luca lived in the U.S. and Griffin lived in the U.K. As they grew up their friendship became more important as they shared their personal lives. Until Luca stopped writing back to Griffin. Skip ahead a few years and Luca finds a recent letter from Griffin railing at her for never writing her back.
Luca had a traumatic experience that left her emotionally scared and suffering from agoraphobia. When she starts writing, and then texting Griffin, it starts them down a new path of friendship.
I liked Luca’s relationship with her psychologist and the way he worked with her to live a fuller life. It was an interesting look into living with a mental illness.
