A new novel in the New York Times bestselling series: Coroner JJ Graves and her husband Sheriff Jack Lawson are back on the job when the body of an elderly woman is found in Bloody Mary.Rosalyn McGowen is everyone’s favorite great-grandmother. She always has baked treats in her bag, she smells of roses, and she takes in stray cats. No one knows who could hurt a sweet old lady. But Rosalyn isn’t … Rosalyn isn’t exactly as she seems. Every Thursday at noon Rosalyn secretly posts The Bloody Mary Tattler on social media, and it has everyone in town both captivated and horrified.
When Rosalyn’s secret is discovered along with her body, it’s not easy for JJ to determine her death as a homicide. But it’s not long before they discover the list of suspects is endless and Rosalyn didn’t exactly take all of her secrets to the grave.

As always, I love Liliana Hart ‘s JJ Graves series! The banter and chemistry between her main character and her (new) husband the sheriff, keep me coming back for these cozy mysteries with a sexy twist, the latest I’ve read being Dirty Laundry . You can’t go wrong with this series, but start with the first book!
Read these books in order to get the feel for Jack, the hunky sheriff, and JJ, the doc turned coroner that finally married him in book five.
The usual suspects are back and a delight. This time it read like an episode of desperate housewives….plus a murder of an elderly lady that baked for the neighborhood.
The death of that lady is described in detail and is funny and a bit gross as you discover she had seven cats. I have three cats and am now going to fill their bowls every night…..just in case! Besides that death, there is a very nosey person writing about scandals in the town…and causing fear of who would be written about next.
This is a witty, funny mystery as opposed to her more serious books with the same people but it feels right.
Not her best or most engrossing book but the couple can still solve cases and steam up some windows. And trust me, there are times, I laughed out loud….even after a murder, but then some cops deal with death that I way.
This had an interesting plot line. Great characters and fast moving. I will be reading more by this author.
It’s been a while since I read the first four JJ Graves books and I’m not sure how I got out of the loop but I’m glad I found my way back, I did a quick read of the book 5 novella and then sank into this book.
I loved the story here and the traditional whodunit nature of the murder. Suspects everywhere, all kinds of clues, lots of liars. The progression of clues to the final resolution is suspenseful and there is a great denouement scene.
The final scene sets things up for book seven and is irritating I. That anyone with two brain cells could see the tragedy coming and I cannot figure out why no precautions would have been taken. It’s beyond stupid.
I’ll be digging in to book seven immediately!
What a neighborhood this book took place in! JJ Graves and Sheriff Jack Lawson are called to investigate the death of an elderly woman everyone seemed to love. Rosalyn McGowen had lived a quiet life on the street for years, long ago widowed, and she continued to bake daily even after selling her world famous bakery years ago. As this story takes us into the many different lives of the folks in this neighborhood, I was amazed at how much everyone knew about everyone else! Very entertaining following JJ and Jack solving this case, and throughout we get sneak previews of JJ’s not-so-dead father making appearances in the most odd times and places.
These books are a little on the odd side but well written and you always want to get to the end to see the results.
The “dirty” series is one of my new favorites. The author keeps the pace taut, the characters interesting and the crimes creepy!
Love it….Great series, I just started the new book!!
Ending was a surprise. Nice bok to read when you want a break from heavy plots
I read anything this author writes.
Great author!
It is a great who done it book. I didnt figure it out till the end
I enjoyed it very much but some of descriptions were gross
I’ve read this whole series so far and this was a weak addition. Just sort of ended abruptly I thought, not a lot of substance.
Similar to others in the JJGraves series. A quick fun read.
Absolutely LOVE Liliana Hart and the J.J. Graves mysteries. Strong characters and interesting and captivating storyline. I recommend this series to everyone.
I love the rapport JJ and Jack have with each other and their friends. The neighborhood characters were very believable and well written and the storyline kept me guessing until the end.
This book is wonderful read enjoy books like this
I have read the entire series and look forward to the next book.
Dirty Laundry was so good. A close set of neighbors leads to some interesting secrets. The epilogue got me good and dying to dive into the next book, to see what happens. JJ and Jack are a great team and I love their love for one another. If you haven’t started the series yet, go grab the first book. You won’t regret it.
