This was a touching story with Jasmine’s Vietnamese family especially her sweet dad with his special tea making , it was emotional, learning to forgive, understanding, we got a dispicable cuniving awhole that has caused a lot of pain.
There’s lots of consensual dominance & submissive on fire HOT sextual scenes – he needs to feel in control! The man loves his ties

This is the first book I have read by Crystal Kassell, and I was pleasantly surprised with the multi-layered and intriguing plot of this story. Shepard is a successful venture capitalist. He’s driven, brooding, and closely guards his personal demons. He needs a wife within 30 days and asks to meet with Jasmine, his childhood friend who left him 6 years ago after a huge falling out. Jasmine is enchanting, loving, and unassuming. You begin to wonder if this enemies to lovers romance is the result of inability to love or something else.
What kept me reading is the tease about the secrets – a little more being revealed each time they were brought up. My mind would go through so many scenarios that could be the key to what was being hidden, but as bits and pieces were revealed, I had to keep revising my theories.
The romance between Shep and Jasmine was a tension carefully built and sensually presented. The moments were filled with emotion as well as physical need.
If I had to identify something that kept this from being a 5 star rating, I would say the repetition of some themes (tea, for example) made parts of the book slow, but at the same time this method of reviewing a theme was done very well in crafting the intriguing parts of the story. Perhaps this was simply a matter of my personal interest. I will definitely read the two other books featuring Ian and Nick in this series.

Informative, emotional, engaging.
Everytime I read a story with plots that involves situations like what sherpard went through, it reallytouch me deep down.
There should be a special kind of punishment for people like his stepfather, one that will ensure they can never violate another child like that. It is heartbreaking to see how much damage those experiences do to a child and how negatively it impacts on their lives even in adulthood. The marriage started on the wrong footing but Jasmine and Shepherd were meant to be so in the end their relationship ended beautifully.
Such an emotional book, more emotional than I thought it was going to be and I loved it. For almost the first half of the book I was dying to know what happened to Shepard, he was such a broken man and I couldn’t imagine what kind of turmoil he went through to be the person he was. Then when I found out, I was shocked and so heartbroken for him. I completely understood why he had an alcohol problem and took to women after he became sober. Anything to not think about it. Jasmine was everything he needed; he wasn’t ready for her when they were younger. She had to go and grow and become the person she was when Shepard needed her help.
Jasmine, so loyal and full of love and light. Refusing to give up on those that she truly loves and protect them even more. The love she has for her father and wanting him to heal is the same reason that I would have chosen to enter that contract with Shepard. She knew what she was getting into from the beginning however I don’t think she ever it saw it going the way it did and I loved reading every second of her falling more in love with him.
I cried so hard at the ending and not because I was sad, but because the speech that Jasmine gave to Shepard when everything came to light was just everything that book needed. It was exactly her and it was the most beautiful and perfect thing to say in that moment. Her refusal to give up on him and to admit her love, showed him that he was deserving of love and of being loved. So glad my book club voted to read this book, it was more than we could have imagined.
This is the third book in the Dirty series, while I hadn’t read the first two, there was enough written throughout in regards to Shepherd’s older brother to connect the dots. There’s also quite a bit of information leading into other books in the series; namely Ian.
This is definitely a second chance at romance styled book, but with the male character, Shepherd, feeling devoured of feelings and a heart due to his past. However, Jasmine admits from the onset that she’s always held him in her heart and truly still loves him. But, she wants to keep her heart at bay and underguard because of the darkness within him.
Interesting writing style and reading… I really felt like this was a slow to read book. It was a lot of the same pattern thinking in their POVs. Slight bit of BDSM, not really dark or heavy compared to other books I’ve read. The passion was quick to start and quick to end. The Toronto? The fact that the heroin was Vietnamese. Very rare to find a romance novel in which one of the characters, one of the main characters, is Asian.
All that money, the boy should pay for some therapy. Good thing he has sense enough to go after a lady who really loves him! Sweet ending!
Thoroughly enjoyable read that tugs at the emotions just enough
A second chance romance without the usual begging for forgiveness or huge misunderstanding that is cleared up. In my opinion, the H in this story is the focus of the growth in the story line; while not being a “project” for the h. A refreshingly new take makes the story so much better than you think you will read with the same formula in this trope. The reality is sooo much better! Well executed, hot moments and tender HEA – even though not all issues are resolved as one would think; it just makes the story even better.

I love Crystal Kaswell’s writing so much. She’s wonderful at that sexy banter between characters that seems to make the pages crackle with energy. Her alphas are broody and dark but loveable, and her heroines are inspiring, brave, and sassy.
This book between the bad boy with terrifying secret and a need for ultimate control took me a while to get into. I’m not much of a BDSM reader, but the scenes here were done well, definitely hot and angsty!
I had a hard time understanding the heroine’s desire to be controlled like that, but again, BDSM isn’t my thing. And the story makes up for it as the plot takes over and the deadline Shep is under drives the flipping of pages.
The only real complaint I had is that there is a lot of discussion about tea in this book. And teasing about tea. And wondering if there is going to be tea. And that it’s not good tea. I mean, I get we all have our quirks, and I love tea too, but wow, there was a lot of attention to tea and brewing it just right.
I loved that Shep learned to let his guard down with Jasmine finally, and share some of his tragic past with her, to heal. That was touching and very genuine.
I never quite got that satisfying feeling that the “game” Shep and is step father were playing was fully understood or resolved. Jasmine sort of drops the hint that she warns him off, but that didn’t bring me the closure I craved for him.
I loved the fast pace and addictive quality of the story, and the good writing. It made my long travel day melt away.
This is the third book in the Dirty Rich Series, but this was my first Crystal Kaswell’s book. Jasmine and Shepard’s story is a great second chance at love. Shepard is a strong alpha man, dominant, secretive, with a dark past. Jasmine is a strong woman, loving and supportive. They share a strong and sizzling chemistry. The storyline has a great pace, filled with twists and turns, steamy light BDSM scenes, mystery and secrets. Lance Greendield and Grace Grant did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the other books in the Series. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Not for me
While I usually really like Crystal Kaswell books Dirty Husband was hard for me to get through. The book description is good and I thought it might be a fun story with some nice heat added into the “fake wife” for money story-line. But this story was not really that and ended up going a few places that I was not expected and to me did not fit into the story-line and characters well. I also found the book to be long, long and long which did not do much for drawing me in.
So for me this book is a pass but for others I know they will really love it.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This a wellwritten and fastpaced story that captivated me from the start. The storyline is entertaining and actionpacked. The characters are wonderful. Can not wait for the next book in this series.

Omg things are so, so deep between old sweethearts after Jasmine Lee joined up & gave Shepard Marlowe the deal that’d help her & her Father.
We feel how deep things went for Shep in his youth & how Jasmine felt she couldn’t help or see what to do for him when they were younger.
But its when they make the deal & they plan their day…
Come in & see how things turn out between them & see if the past will be able to stay there & the ‘deal’ just stay like that or will their old love come back into their lives….
I love second chance romance and adding in a marriage of convenience makes it even more enticing! Jasmine and Shepard were so in love in high school. They had big dreams of forever until Shep started pulling away and drinking too much. They both made their own choices which tore them apart, breaking both their hearts. Now years later Jasmine is working hard but still struggling to pay bills and find treatment for her dying father. Shep has a dark secret that forces him to find a wife. He has always trusted Jasmine, even after all they’ve been thru. He offers her a chance to help her and her father, but at a cost to both their hearts. This is a moving, sizzling romance that slowly reveals the heartbreaking secrets that Shep is keeping. Jasmine is so loyal and loves fiercely. She will do anything to help her father and soon the broken man before her as well. I loved Jasmine, and her relationship with her family was so sweet and lovely. Shep wanted what they had, but believed he was too damaged to really have. The chemistry and passion between Shep and Jasmine is explosive and helped him to open his heart and to believe in love again.
Lance Greenfield, and Grace Grant did an amazing job portraying both Shep and Jasmine in all their strengths and vulnerabilities. Greenfield’s deep raspy voice embodies Shep and all his dominant possessiveness, and makes me feel all his turmoil, pain, and love. I have listened to Grace Grant previously in lighter romance audios and loved how she nailed these characters in this raw and emotional story. Together they brought this poignant, and sexy romance to life keeping me totally engaged from start to finish.
Dirty Husband (Dirty Rich #3) should in my opinion read/listened to after the earlier books. As, for me I felt like I was missing something and getting an better understanding of the characters as I have not been introduced to them earlier. The writing is balanced. This does deal a bit with bdsm and it is tastefully written. Overall, the narrative is intriguing.
Narators Lance Greenfield, Grace Grant express the different sentiments of Shepard and Jasmine in a realistic way. I wasn’t too keen on the others as they felt unnatural in a way. Overall, I found these two narrators fit together well and brought Shepard and Jasmine’s lovestory to reality.
Audio book Review
Shepherd is suffering from his past and he feels he has to beat his stepfather at his own game and to do that he needs a wife. The only person he can think of is his former love, Jasmine.
Jasmine needs money to take care of her father. His health is declining quickly and she doesn’t have the means to pay for his care. When Shep proposes to her it isn’t for love but for both their benefits. Can she do it?
There is so much in this story. No spoilers here but this is an intense love story with past hurts that are hard to heal. It is passionate and well written and I really enjoyed it.
Lance Greenfield and Grace Grant were perfect for these characters. They brought the emotion needed to tell this story.
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I recommend this audio book.
I enjoyed the story and the feisty chemistry between the two.
Fantastic Story & Narration Captivating & Intense!
Dirty Husband
Dirty Rich, Book 3
By: Crystal Kaswell
Narrated by: Lance Greenfield, Grace Grant
I thoroughly enjoyed this book it is well written with interesting characters and storylines, it grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The character are complex and well developed. Jasmine is a dedicated daughter who is willing to do what she has to do to get her father the treatments he needs. Including taking her ex up on an offer of marriage. Shepard Marlowe, a billionaire who is in need of a wife, knowing his ex’s circumstances and financial hardship he approaches her with an offer she can not refuse. Despite their bad history there is still great chemistry between them. Shepard has skeletons in his closet and is not willing to share them with Jasmine, which can make or break them. When she gets close to figuring him out he pushes her away. But Jasmine reads him and is on to him. I loved how everything plays out, their story is well plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, a bit of mystery, some heartfelt moments, heartbreaking ones and some hot steamy moments. This great story is more than a second chance romance it is also second chance of life. Shepard faces his demons, he needs to learn to love himself before he could love anyone else. Thank you Crystal Kaswell for this great story and for keeping it real, real is not always easy but you handled it perfectly and with care. I loved your note and character insight at the end.
I listened to the Audible edition, Lance Greenfield and Grace Grant are wonderful narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. They did a great job portraying each character and projecting their emotions and passion into their performance. Lance’s portrayal of Shepard was spot on, alpha with an attitude all the way. Grace’s Jasmine was spot on too, sweet with a determined strength. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
This is a second chance romance filled with suspense and a steamy romance between a broken alpha and the woman he had to let go.

Jasmin and Shepard were high school sweethearts but his behavior caused them to split up. Now Jasmin needs money to take care of her sick father and Shepard needs a wife so they agree to marry with no sex. Arranged marriage and second chance are some of my favorite reads so this story ticked all of them.
