Kara Harbinger’s only crime is having a court judge for a father. One who just happens to be presiding over the criminal case of the President of the Devil Kings MC. The DKs are about to use the biggest Achilles’ heel he’s got to bend him to their will, to buy his decision, to buy his very soul.
Reno—
I want nothing to do with this job, but I can’t get out of it.
As a member of the Devil Kings … member of the Devil Kings MC, my life is a violent existence hinged on loyalty to the oath I took: Devil Kings before all else. I’m the club’s muscle, the brother they give the vicious, vile jobs, the dirty deeds. When it comes to my club, I do whatever they ask, whatever they need.
Then I see Kara, all sweet and innocent with her soulful eyes and sexy body. She’s a bright light in my dark existence. In her eyes, I see an escape from the brutal life I’ve lived for so long, a life void of feelings, emotions and light. She gives me the faith to believe I can have more, to believe I can have everything.
What do I do when my VP wants her taken as leverage to use against her father?
What do I do when one look at Kara threatens everything I thought I held dear?
What do I do if they want me to put a gun to her head and end her life?
I’ll have to convince her to trust me if I have any hope of getting us both out of this alive.
Kara—
He’s the only one who can save me.
I’m not supposed to want a man like Reno. He’s dangerous—a lawless, badass, alpha biker. I know I should be afraid, but the way he looks at me, with hunger in his eyes makes me want to become his.
I believed the lies he told me. I thought he was a good guy.
But when he takes me hostage, everything I thought about him is turned on its head.
Now he expects me to trust him, even as he holds me captive.
How can I trust a man whose loyalty is to his club, a club that wants me dead?

An intensely passionate and suspenseful unforbidden romance. Reno and Kara embarked on a dark, twisted and thrilling ride that changed both their lives forever. I was captivated from the beginning, on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding, and left breathless in the end. Great story. I enjoyed every moment of this invigorating story.
Oh how I love me some MC books and to find a new series is awesome! These characters are so full of life and the story kept me entertained the whole time. Who doesn’t love a kidnapping to love story? The narration was done very well and helped bring this book to life even more.
This review is for the audiobook version.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
This just may be a series that I want exclusively in audiobook form. We have two voice actors that suck me into what is going on and I didn’t want to let go. It was frustrating when I had to stop because there was never any perfect spot. As I got toward the ending, I got nervous that there won’t won’t be any more audio versions. It will be tough but I will switch over to the book version if I have to.
Mr. West and Ms. Rose do a great job in expressing the emotion, which includes fear and frustration, as well as the heat our characters are experiencing. They also made it very easy to imagine what the characters might look like. One thing I liked about this pair is that they were very easy to listen to. With a book, it’s not hard to close and walk away to be picked up at a future point in time. With an audiobook, you can take them everywhere you go.
Another thing that’s good about voice actors is you focus on who they are portraying – like a movie you can’t see. You won’t want to tune them out because you’ll want to know what Reno and Kara are talking about and what trouble they’re trying to get out of. They help me get to know who these characters are. They also help me understand what’s going on with the world around them.
I finished the book with at least three sure things. The first would be that I plan to check out more works narrated by Mr. West and Ms. Rose. They compliment each other so I hope to find more duets but I’ll happily check out anything they’ve worked on. The second thing is following this series because I have to see who else in this MC that I’m going to learn about. Plus I’d like to see if Reno and Kara make an appearance as the series develops. The third thing is our author. I’ve only read/listened to a few of her books but I look forward to adding more to my library.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Dirty Deeds
Devil Kings MC #1
by Nicole James
Ryan West, Virginia Rose
Reno, a member of the Devil Kings, and has a responsibility to carry out. Take Kara, the daughter of a judge that needs some advice when it comes to deciding a case. Her innocence and beauty has Reno entranced, and the two, seem to have a connection. So when it comes to his new orders, he will need to make a decision. The question is, where will his loyalties lie? Nicole James is weaving a web of danger and deceit and love. Reno is a man that is easy to love. He has air of danger, but a soft side that Kara brings out. Kara is young, and in many ways naive, but comes through with strong allegiance and love for Reno. I love the romance, but I also love the suspenseful storyline James weaves. The competitive motorcycle clubs exude that sense of danger and excitement. It’s a fun listen!!
Narrated by two amazing story tellers, Ryan West and Virginia Rose create believable characters and a listen easy to enjoy. West’s voice emulates alpha male. Rose comes in with an innocence and infatuation helping create the believable chemistry. It is a great listen and you don’t want to miss it.
This is the first book in the Devils Kings MC Series. Reno and Kara’s story is intense, entertaining, suspenseful, filled with danger and twists and turns. They share an instant attraction, and a sizzling hot chemistry. The supporting characters are amazing. Ryan West and Virginia Rose did a great job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Dirty Deals, Rusty’s story. #CaffeinatedPR #TheAudioFlow #ALC
Love Kara and Reno’s story. This a great series starter. There is a lot going on within the club and Reno is torn between the club or the woman he loves.
Very enjoyable MC read. The characters were very well defined to the point I felt like I knew them. As for the storyline, it was well written and flowed – it was like watching the storyline unfold right before my eyes. The books had lots of MC action and suspense and of course romance.
This is the first book to a new series and it gave us a bit of backstory to the club as well as just the main characters, a fact I thoroughly enjoyed as it gave me a look into what’s to come. The club is in a bit of turmoil with their Prez in prison and the acting Prez seems to be leading them in a bad direction. Reno, the lead in this story, isn’t happy with the way things are going down but he’s true to the club and his brothers. But when they ask him to kidnap a young girl (Kara) for leverage against her father (the Judge overseeing Prez’s trial) Reno sees the writing on the wall. He knows the acting Prez is going to order him to kill her in the end. Don’t get me wrong, Reno is no saint, but he draws the line at killing innocents. The more Reno gets to know Kara, the stronger his feelings grow along with the need to protect her. Can he figure out a way to keep her alive or will he carry out his brother’s orders?
I see this being a very popular series and one this reader is looking forward to.
2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for Dirty Deeds, #1 of the Devil Kings MC.
Nicole is one of the best authors I’ve read to date. She amazes me with her creativity time and time again. Dirty Deeds was a phenomenal start to the Devil Kings MC series. Reno is a man hardened by his time in the MC but still has the heart of a greater man deep down. This whole book he proves that time and time again, the two sides of him continuously clashing while he tries to find the man he really wants to be. Kara is absolutely lovable from the start and your heart really breaks with hers as she bounces from one danger to another. The love Reno and Kara have for each other is one of a kind and really made this book a page turner. I loved everything about this book and the epilogue was everything and more.
I wasn’t sure I could like the Devil Kings MC after reading the Evil Dead MC series but Reno and Kara’s steamy story changed that. It was great to see the change in Reno and Rusty. I also liked how Kara’s character evolved to become a strong, feisty women. I’m looking forward to rest of the books in this series.
I loved this book! It was kind of hard for me to get into in the beginning, but once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. Reno is put into a tough situation with being asked to do a job for his club. A club that is in total disarray and that he is no longer behind. Kara is the “job”, but once Reno sees her, he knows that he can’t follow through with what the club wants him to do. And that he is truly going to have to make a choice between his club and his girl.
This book gives a different perspective of a club that is in chaos and not all the members are on the same page. I feel like a lot of books show a club that is a well oiled machine and doesn’t show one in chaos. This shows two members that are not on board with the rest of the club and the steps that they take to do what they feel is right.
Dirty Deeds is book 1 in the new series Devil Kings MC written by the talented author Nicole James. I don’t know how she does it but this first book is perfectly executed. Great start to a new MC romance series. Reno (Dante De Luca) and Kara Harbinger, their chemistry is off the charts sexy. The plot is full of drama, suspense, action and romance. I really enjoyed it! I can’t wait to read the next book, hoping for Rusty’s story!
Wow! I loved this book! I was on the fence about getting it. I sure am glad I did. This wasn’t what How I expected this story to go. I am a rabid MC fan. This one surprised me. I had read the synopsis when I pre-ordered but not since. There is so much more going on than just what is written in there! I loved the characters. Both Reno and Kara changed and grew into better people. Rusty (amid others) is a great secondary character.
This is maybe my second or third book I have read by this author. I loved all the drama, suspense and crazy MC business. I read this in about a day. I really enjoyed how this turned out for all the characters and I will be looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Ps LOVE this COVER!!!
Reno and Kara are phenomenal together! When Reno is directed by the VP of the Devil Kings to grab a judges daughter he is pissed for a variety of reasons. Tired of being the guy commanded to do the grunt work, Reno notices first thing how pretty the girl he’s supposed to grab is. What he could not have known is how explosive their first time together would be, and how quickly he would fall in love with her.
Kara could never have imagined that the guy she fell head over heels for in an instant, Dante, would be back to kidnap her days later at the behest of his club. She figures that all the words and super hot sex were b.s. designed to make her more comfortable with him so she wouldn’t fight him later, but she could never have imagined what the Devil Kings have planned for her, or that Reno and Rusty would eventually come to their own decisions.
An excellent new MC Romance, Nicole James delivers a constant rollercoaster ride of action from the first page to the last, effortlessly blending the new MC with the Evil Dead series and building on it.i can’t wait to see what happens next!
