When you’re up against the cage, love is the only thing worth fighting for. Nick Giannakis is a champion. A fighter made of chiseled muscle and steel resolve who can bring a man to his knees with his bare hands. In the octagon, he always wins. But when he joins a new fighting organization, he comes face to face with Jules Darcy, the only woman who ever broke his heart. The daughter of the man who … daughter of the man who could make or break Nick’s career. And Nick knows one thing: Jules is his, and he wants her back.
Jules Darcy doesn’t do love. After an unstable childhood and a front row seat to the damage it does, she’d have to be crazy to sign up for inevitable heartbreak. But a year ago, her fling with Nick quickly escalated into something more, scaring her and sending her running. Now, he’s back in her life and sexier than ever. And he wants her. In his bed. In his life. His, fully and completely.
She’s as powerless to resist Nick now as she was a year ago, but even if she does give in, no one can ever find out. Revealing their relationship could end Nick’s career. But something this hot, this intense, can’t stay secret for long…

An enjoyable story of unwavering love!
This book is the worst one I have ever paid for! The book has a lot of bad language in it. There is no need to use vulgar, inappropriate, or offensive language to write a good story. The “F” word is used many times. On page 13 the statement “Jesus Fucking Christ” is definitely not needed to make the plot a good story. I could not get passed this page and I could not read this book. What a waste of my money!
In the future, please let the public know that the book has foul language in it.
kept me wanting to keep on till the end
Steamy, easy read, happy ending. Enjoyed the book.
Loved the main characters, they were made for each other, just took a while to get there.
Two people from very different backgrounds are able to trust enough in each other to work through problems and talk them out and compromise enough for the benefit of the whole. They trust enough to feel the other person is worth the effort.
Really enjoyed and I can’t wait to read need installment.
Sexy!
Could not get into it, did not finish
Well written book dealing with a dysfunctional family and emotional abuse. Characters are well defined and make the story realistic.
Okay second chance but was not for me
Dirty Boxing is the first book in the Blood and Glory series by Tara Wyatt. This is the story of Jules and Nick, along with her father and all the baggage that Jules brings with her. So I really wanted to like this book because I have read a number of books by Tara Wyatt and she can be an amazing writer. There were some bright shining moments in the story but there were also some times I was just plain annoyed more than anything. Yep I wanted to kick Jules in the azz a number of times with her “woo is me because of the way my parents were”. I mean really no one had a “Leave it to Beaver” childhood, not even him in real life. But the underlying story is still there in regards to past relationships, current relationships and how things affect you. I liked Nick but even with him I wanted to say grow a pair Mr. Bad Azz MMA Fighter. In the end this story was okay but it was just not for me.
Just finished reading this. I couldn’t put it down. It’s 11:45PM and I already downloaded book 2. I know I should go to bed because I have to go out tomorrow but maybe I could just read a chapter or two. Yeah right! Wish me luck!
Book 1 in the Blood and Glory series and can be read as a standalone. I have a soft spot for MMA romances and this was a really good story. Nick and Jules had a great chemistry between them. Well written and I can’t wait to read more in this series. If you are looking for a good MMA book to help pass the time, then this is the one that you need to pick up.

Great read, sexy and steamy,,well written with great plot and nice characters! first time Harper St.George reader and thumbs up for me! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book!!! thanks!
This second chance romance seemed a bit lopsided as Nick, the macho up and coming champion sought a reconciliation with Jules.
It’s true that Jules had a lot of baggage, but I empathized with her character the most.
My heart ached for her when she overheard Nick’s indecision in a private conversation with his brother. Her natural instincts to protect her heart were understandable and his reaction kinda broke my heart for her.
While the blame was softly left at her doorstep, I still felt like Nick truly didn’t get that he needed to be her emotional rock.
I was team Jules, but her waffling still got on my nerves at times. I think I would have liked to see her turn the tables and show him that he wasn’t the only one getting hit on as he flaunted and flirted to get her jealous.
I appreciated the lack of cheating and the sweet HEA.

Dirty Boxing is a steamy second chance romance!
This is a first time read for me from both authors and I have to say, I was loving Nick and Julian!
Nick was only supposed to be a fling for Julian, he was never supposed to work his way into her heart. After a month long relationship in Chicago Nick asks for more completely scaring Jules away. Honestly I don’t blame her for running scared. After all her father was a fighter and she saw firsthand at a very young age what being married to a fighter is all about.
Nick and Jules have a run in when her father decides to sign him up to fight for his league. Nick sees it as a second chance to win the woman of his dreams back. Jules sees it as what could possibly be a disastrous turn of events!
I am obsessed with fighters in my romance novels. To me the fighting aspect brings on a whole new aspect to a relationship and I can’t get enough of them. plus the alpha vibe that usually comes with these novels is crazy!
Nick is a very determined character. He knows what he wants in a woman and everything he wants he sees in Jules, I loved his determination at trying to get her back. Even through all his frustration.
Just like I loved Nick’s determination, I loved Jules paranoia when it comes to relationships. I also loved Jules drive to make her dad proud, even though, her dad wasn’t around for half her life.
I loved the hell out of Dirty Boxing and cannot wait to read more of this series in the future!!!
After being a witness to love gone wrong, and watching her parents marriage go down the tubes, the idea of subjecting herself to that is just not something Jules Darcy is open to. She also decided early on that getting involved with a fighter was not something she was up for either, her father was one, and he wasn’t around much and it robbed her of the picture perfect childhood all her friends had. But, then she meets sexy MMA fighter Nick Giannakis and the intense sparks and immediate deep connection they have takes over, and it soon has her wanting to abandoned all her rules and see where their little romance will take them…
A year ago MMA fighter Nick Giannakis met the woman of his dreams, and he was ready to take things down the serious road, but then she walked away without so much as a goodbye and it nearly killed him. He has tried to rid his heart and mind of every lingering remnant of her, but she just won’t go away, she embedded herself deep and the only thing that seems to keep him going is his time in the ring. Then fate intervenes and puts her smack dab into his new life in Vegas and he is determined to not let her escape again…
Dirty Boxing is a gritty, sexy, and heart-wrenching read that is sure to leave readers highly impressed with the literary talents of the St. George and Wyatt duo…they had me singing their praises by the second chapter, WOW what a read!! This one grabbed a hold of me almost immediately and had my full attention from start to finish, the story line was engaging, filled with palpable emotion, and came with two characters that you can’t help but want to root for… it was such a good read. I cannot wait for more from these two talented ladies, their first offering left me completely in awe and harboring a serious crush on their very sexy fighter, bring on round two!! Highly recommend you give this one a try, I guarantee you will love what you find!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
I am a fan of Tara Wyatt and Harper St. George, so you can imagine that I was a very happy camper when it was announced that they were working on a series together! Dirty Boxing is a solid start to the Blood and Glory series and an intense and ridiculously sexy second chance romance.
If you’re an MMA fan, I think you’ll be quite pleased as the competition action is extremely detailed, more so than many MMA romances I’ve read in recent memory. I appreciated that, as it gives you a truly real and in-depth look into these fighter’s lives. Their training and its results are evident and it showcases how difficult it can be to create and maintain a relationship amid the demands of the job.
Jules and Nick had out of this world chemistry. Nick was easy to like. He was truly a good guy from a loving family and after he understands a little bit more about the situation, he opens himself up to another chance with Jules.
As for Jules, I’m going to admit that she frustrated the snot out of me. She’s very hung up on her own upbringing and how her parent’s relationship was so dysfunctional that she doesn’t see how she could have a healthy relationship. Normally, that kind of thing turns me off in characters. The whole, I love him but I’m not worthy because of my parent’s issues is usually a big no go for me. Otherwise, Jules was a kickass character! She was smart, funny and truly cared for Nick.
I kept reading for a couple of reasons.
1.I loved Nick. He was sex on a stick with a heart of gold. (How’s that for a visual?)
2.I wanted to learn more about the secondary characters.
3.I wanted to know how the heck Jules was going to get passed her hangups.
While I was reading, I recognized the importance of character growth. It’s important and I think readers can lose sight of that, especially when reading a character they are having a hard time connecting with.
I saw that growth with Jules. How she was able to experience Nick’s no limit love and devotion for her and his own family. That can be hard, trying to figure out how you fit into a family when you’re not used to a supportive and healthy one, yourself.
So, for me, this was all about Jules’s journey and development as a character and in her relationship with Nick and her own father.
While I had a few bumps with this one, I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to more in the Blood and Glory series.
