Billionaire roughneck Knox Price finds himself twisted by desire for a yoga teacher in this new romance by the New York Times bestselling author of Dirty Scoundrel.Knox Price has always fallen short in comparison to his brothers. Boone is the ambitious one. Clay is the nice one. Gage is the handsome one. And Knox? Well, he’s the cynical one. The odd man out in the ultra-wealthy but rather unique … ultra-wealthy but rather unique Price family. It’s not that Knox hates people–it’s that humanity always disappoints him. When you become an oil-rich, Texan billionaire overnight, people treat you a certain way. Just once he’d like to meet someone that isn’t dazzled by his wallet.
Then, he meets struggling yoga teacher Lexi Brandon. She’s weird. She’s unpredictable and tends to say strange things. She lurks in the bushes and dresses in all black. She loves when people cross the street to get away from her. Lexi’s definitely not his type, but she’s also the first one to ever truly see him and not just another rich, dirty Price.
And that’s…fascinating. But how do you catch the interest of a woman who goes out of her way to be odd? When an unexpected surprise throws them both for a loop, Knox decides it’s time to get down and dirty, abandon the rules, and be who he truly is–a bastard.

I was ready to quit the audiobook almost as soon as I started, the male narrator’s accent for the male character was completely distracting. The female narrator was the same, but I pushed through and decided to focus on the story, which had potential. Then by the fourth chapter I realized the main female character was TSTL because of how she was dealing with a pretty major problem. After that, I skimmed, listening to the first two or three minutes of each chapter, and finally the final two chapters. That is why it is two stars and not one, because I did want to see how the potential part of the story I liked ended up, and that part didn’t suck
A happy feel-good read.
This story is absolutely amazing – I love the nickname he dubs her and the way they banter throughout the entire story is adorable! Several laugh out loud lines that leave you grinning.
3,5 stars
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
If you like men with a beard or men who know what they want and who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty to get it, then you will like the Price’s brothers. These Roughneck billionaires may be very rich but that doesn’t mean that they are gentlemen. On the contrary!
‘Dirty bastard’ is the third book in the ‘Roughneck billionaires’ and is the story of the third eldest brother Knox. If you have read the other two books in the series then you will have met Know Price already. You will know that he’s something special, he likes nothing more than to tease people around him by letting things disappear or messing with people’s stuff. Although he’s the most quiet one of the 5 brothers, he’s also the most observing one. And his conclusion is that most people are predictable and boring but then one day he meets Lexi Brandon. From the first look Knox knows that this girl is special. Most people call her weird or crazy but in Knox eyes, Lexi is unique just like him.
Lexie Brandon is weird and she’s pride of that. She is a yoga teacher in a small town. Most people find her strange but after a lot of disappointments in her life, Lexi is embracing her strangeness with everything she has. But then she meets Knox Price, a guy a few years younger than her, who seem to find her fascinating. Lexi is very surprised by that but also very curious about this guy. And against her better judgement, she spends the night with him and what a night it is!
But Know wants more than just one night with Lexi. In his heart he knows that he has find THE woman for him. But before he can convince Lexi of that she’s gone and then a sad tragedy happens that make he’s needed somewhere else. But when some time later Lexi surprises him with a message, Knox knows that the time has come to take action and to make sure that Lexi knows that she’s the woman for him!
Just like Jessica Clare’s other books, ‘Dirty bastard’ is a fun and light read. The Price brothers are something special, they may be billionaires now but they really don’t act like one. They are rough, they have their own way of thinking and when they love they love with whole their heart.
I really liked Knox, he just became one of my favourite of the brothers. He really respected Lexi and her feelings.
The story started good, it’s told in dual POV’s. I really liked both Knox and Lexi their ‘weirdness’, their ‘uniqueness’. They were just perfect for each other. And maybe that’s part of my mixed feeling I have about this story? It was so obvious to me that they belonged together that I didn’t really understood Lexi’s denial of their ‘relationship’. I think I’m just a little confused as to why she would stay in a town where she wasn’t really accepted and why she didn’t told her best friend about her problems. And why she fought the relationship between her and Knox. I just found them perfect for each other! Luckily, at the end Lexi though so too.
Before I started reading this series, I would have said I wasn’t a fan of a redneck, especially one with a scruffy beard. Annnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddd then I read about the Price brothers. This book is about Knox Price and Lexi Brandon, friend to Natalie (who is the girlfriend of one of Knox’s brothers.) I won’t try to lay out the relationships in this series as I can’t do it justice but the author really does a great job of putting it all out there so this story stands alone. I just liked reading the previous books and happen to know the characters.
It is so funny that Knox and Lexi hit it off but when you read about them, I mean really who they are, you figure out early that these two are perfect together. Knox is a billionaire who definitely doesn’t dress the part and Lexi is…let’s say difficult and tries to be as off-putting as possible to keep her distance from people. Both characters have had difficult youths and terribly distressful things happening in their lives in the present but as it should be, they are so much better together.
I really like Knox! I keep trying to picture his seriously gorgeous face (as Lexi describes it) without a scruffy beard but even I got past that, as did Lexi. Lexi made me care about her and you just want to stand behind her, or in front of her, sometimes to help her battle the world. Enjoyed the book, love these “boys” and their “girls”, and the stories. There is fun, there are touching scenes, hawt scenes (!), and some parts where you will yell “Yes!!” Recommend the book and the series – you just never know how one of these Price’s will steal your heart.
3.5 stars–DIRTY BASTARD is the third instalment in Jessica Clare’s contemporary, adult ROUGHNECK BILLIONAIRES erotic, romance series focusing on the rags to riches Price Brothers of Texas-Boone, Clay, Gage, Knox and Seth. This is billionaire oil-man Knox Price, and yoga instructor Lexi Brandon’s story line. DIRTY BASTARD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Some of the story line premise crosses-over and runs parallel to some of the events in book two DIRTY SCOUNDREL
Told from dual first person points of view (Knox and Lexi) DIRTY BASTARD follows the building relationship between billionaire oil-man Knox Price, and yoga instructor Lexi Brandon. At a get together with his brothers at Ivy and Boone’s (Dirty Money #1) Knox Price will come face to face with his future, a woman who defies his expectations and type but a woman whose secrets run deep and disturbing. Enter Lexi Brandon, the woman with whom Knox will fall in love but a woman who refuses to acknowledge a troubling threat.
Lexi Brandon is a bit of a quirky heroine who doesn’t want to draw attention to herself or her life. Ascerbic and ill-tempered, most people run rather than face our storyline heroine head ob. Knox considers himself the family ‘bastard’ but most woman tend to throw themselves at the Price brothers due to their billionaire status as rich and available until meeting Lexi Brandon-a woman who did not want anything from the almighty Knox.
The relationship between Lexi and Knox is one of immediate attraction for our story line hero but Lexi has some issues that need to be addressed. Surly and combative Lexi’s need to be independent is both a threat and a hindrance to her personal safety. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate but once again, I struggle with the use of a certain four-letter word I feel is unnecessary in a romance story line.
The secondary and supporting characters include all of Knox’s brothers, their significant others (where revealed) as well as the small-minded and nosy people of a tiny town where everyone knows your name.
DIRTY BASTARD was a bit of struggle in that our heroine has a bit of a TSTL (too stupid to live) complex. Her inability or reluctance to ask for help is a struggle not only for the heroine but for this reader as well. When unwanted and unrequested help finally comes through Lexi runs as though the help is worse than the potential harm. The premise is engaging; the characters are colorful and dynamic but I struggled with the heroine’s personality and behavior; the romance is intimate and seductive.
Knox Price isn’t your average billionaire, he knows what it means to be dirt poor, and after having become a billionaire overnight, and seeing the way money changes people, he has his reservations about embracing that lifestyle. So he chooses to live more simply, and keep his wealth under-wraps, because he learned quickly that people treat you differently when they know you have loaded pockets, especially women who want to lead a lavish lifestyle. These days those women are a dime a dozen, all he has to do is smile in their direction, and their hanging on his every word, and ready to do just about anything to land a permanent spot by his side, but that just isn’t something he wants. If he ever makes that leap, and asks a woman to be his forever, he wants one who loves him for him and not his wealth… which maybe be easier said then done. So, he decides to get a little creative to find his match, and winds up finding his polar opposite in Caroline Jenning, but for some odd reason they fit, it’s as if their a match made in heaven! Or is it all too good to be true?
Dirty Bastard is an pleasurable tale with a inventive story line and eccentric characters that are certain to keep you captivated from the first page to the last! This is my second visit to the series and I have to say I enjoyed this trip just as much as the last, Knox and Caroline’s chemistry was undeniable from the start and I truly enjoyed watching their story unfold. Their little journey was loaded with humor, heartfelt emotion, and some blush-worthy steamy moments that are destined to curl the toes! I highly recommend you add the Roughneck Billionaire series to your reading list, each story is well crafted, highly entertaining and contains a smooth talking billionaire that will leave you with a warm heart and permanent smile on your face!
