This was a good read but I felt it could have been better. For me the characters were just OK. I liked them but didn’t love them, I didn’t feel that much of a pull of attraction between them and I thought their chemistry was tepid. I am a pretty big fan of the forbidden/taboo trope but I just wasn’t feeling this one. The writing was good, the plot was solid. It just didn’t connect with me.
This is a taboo in ways but well written. I had a hard time connecting with both characters throughout the story. The seem to be kind of immature for college level student and professor. But they do grow throughout the story and it picks some throughout it as well.

A Little Taboo – A Little Mardi Gras
Zoe and Aiden’s chemistry was over the top when they met at a masquerade ball. There was definitely a connection that ran deep and intimate. Imagine their surprise when their masks came off and they realized who each other was. Taboo, professor and student. What happens when they grow even closer? Does he relocate to the other side of the country without her? Do they end up together? No spoiler here, but a great story that will have you flipping pages and wanting more. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
Captivating! I couldn’t put it down
The perfect book for contemporary romance readers. It’s not only fast paced, for a split second you’ll forget that teacher student relationships are usually taboo.
Professor Aiden Latimer is a confusing but charming character. He’d come from humble beginnings and knew exactly what he wanted his future to look like. A job at “Millennium Law Firm in Los Angeles” is icing on the cake. I got the sense that he was into hookups with his older college students and didn’t know what he was missing until he met Zoe. As for Zoe, I was pleasantly surprised when she came to the realization that she may have been living within her means and had been a tad bit selfish at times but not everyone, her friends included was as well off as she.
Awesome character development. Zoe gave up her longtime dream of attending Tulane Law School to relocate to Los Angeles with Aiden. He’s her dad’s friend but there was no escaping it or turning back once they got hit with the feels. A definite recommend.

A beautiful well written and sexy, hot, emotional taboo love story. Aiden and Zoe unwittingly have a sexual encounter during a Madi Gras costume party, only to find out they are professor and student. I really enjoyed this intriguing heartwarming short slow building romance. The characters were likeable, relateable and had great chemistry with an engaging cast of secondary characters.
