I was terrified when I started this. Legit wanting to throw my phone and say “eff this I’m not reading anymore ” But oh my god. It was everything. I don’t even know what to say. I am gonna miss this family so much. When I would read one of their books I always felt like a part of it. Like I knew them and somehow was living the words. My heart is so full right now. I just loved it so, so much. Rager and Arie were always my favorite and this story about broke me. Everything was simply brilliant. From where we started with Jameson and Sway to now…I think we came full circle. I can’t ask for more.
This book….gah all the emotions. So first off, this can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the whole Racing on the Edge series! This book, along with the rest of the ROTE series follows the Riley family and how they are all intertwined, and Dirt Driven is specifically about Arie and Rager Sweet. This book focuses on love, tragedy, family, lots of laughs and tears. Arie has grown so much into an amazing woman and with Rager by her side, it’s wonderful to see their characters blossom. I sure hope there is more to come as the new characters deserve a series! Come on Shey! Give us what we want!
So much to say about this series! It focuses on family, dedication, love, tragedy, dirty humor….the list could go on and on. It is my all time favorite series that I’ve ever had the pleasure reading. This book though was about Rager, who is one of my favorites, and Arie. Arie’s character was developed beautifully over the series. She came to be the woman who was a lot like her Mom. Rager became one of my favorite characters and I got quite emotional over him in many parts of the story. Thank you Shay for adding in bits and pieces of every character so that there weren’t any loose ends! Well except Kinsley’s story! We need a book in them!!!
The end of a series is never something I look forward to. Somehow, Shey Stahl found a way to have me excited and sad all in one to see the series ROTE come to an end. I started this series in 2012 (ish) as one of my first Romantic reads and have followed this Author and every one of her works since.
I was nervous for this book. I LOVE these characters and to know that I would not see them again was not easy. I started page 1 at 10 am and finished the entire book that night by 8 pm. You cannot dislike this book. You see all of the original characters plus fall more in love with Arie and Rager.
Arie and Rager have always been it for each other. This story never makes you question whether they will make it but whether even the strongest couples have what it takes to do it with grace and not destroy each other and everyone around them in the process. I love the fact that you can feel the emotions of all the characters when Shey writes and this book was no different. This book is a necessary read but I absolutely recommend reading the whole series to not lose out on the awesomeness that is the Rileys.
Rager and Arie are great characters. All the feels happen with these two around. Love the banter and the fun with all the kids. Sad to see the end of this series, but what a ride!!! Fantastic end to this series.
I’ve been in love with the Riley Family and their Crazy Shenanigans since the very beginning. This book is the perfect ending to an incredible series. This story centers around Arie and Rager, but as usual with the Racing on the Edge books, you get the entire family and crew. Shey brings you emotional moments like only she can do and as usual, you don’t want to put the book down. Before you know it, you’ve read the entire book in one setting! It’s Great read, it doesn’t disappoint. If you haven’t read the ROTE series, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??
Dirt Driven is the 11th and final book in the Racing on the Edge Series. I was so excited to get to read more of Arie and Rager’s story. Every book and couple in this series is great but these two are my favorite. The first book I read in this series was Open Wheel which is when I fell in love Arie and Rager as well as the rest of the Riley family and have been hooked ever since. Shey has such a beautifully unique style of writing that not only pulls you into the story but makes you feel like the story is unfolding in front of you with your friends and family in your hometown. You will cry, laugh, yell and cheer this family on both on the track and off. I am sad to see this series end but am so happy with how it all ended.
This last book to this amazing series I call my Riley Family., Has given me so many memories.
Jameson and Sway are the perfect soulmates. To experience there children and grandchildren grow with them in this humble and crazy family was and will always be my to go family.
Thank you Shey Stahl for sharing this amazing series
Dirt Driven, the final book in my all time favorite series was a bittersweet read. “Sigh” and now I struggle. How do you review your family? Because that’s who these people have become. I watched Jameson (Rowdey Riley) and Sway fall in love. Together they raised 3 kids Axel, Arie and Casten while tackling both the world of NASCAR and the World OF Outlaws. I witnessed Jameson’s dad Jimi become a legend. I saw Axel Struggle with tragedy and still follow in the footsteps of the 2 champions before him. I was there when Casten the trouble making little mama’s boy grew up. Ok so Casten never really did grow up but I was there as he raced right along side his family pranking everyone at every chance. As this (my) family grew I got to see Arie who was daddy’s little girl fall in love with Rager (The Sweet Spot) Sweet, the only man she was ever supposed to be with. There was also the next generation of dirt track loving little rugrats. My family would not have been complete without Tommy and Willie, who along with Casten caused trouble at every turn lol. Then there was Rosa the housekeeper/babysitter who never did either. She spent her time walking around with her fanny pack full of “juice boxes” and a White Claw in hand trying her best to catch Jameson or Rager naked. I kinda want to be Rosa lol. In the end I was there for every win, loss, tragedy, birth, accident, championship, success and failure. I was there for it all.
So thank you Shey for giving me my family. This may be the end of this series but I will never give this family up. LOVED this!
Love this series, love this family. And this book was perfect BUT for the fact that Shey gave us even more characters to want more from. “The f $@#!ing End”? I certainly hope not!
I can’t believe it has came to end. This family is now a part of my life. The is the best series I have ever read. Shey brought this family to life in each and ever book. These books are a great read for anyone but a must read if you are a racing fan.
I have loved every book in this series and this one is no exception. It was great to catch up with the Sweets as well as the rest of the gang. Am really sad that this is it though. What a perfect ending to the series. Way to go Shey. This book had them on an up and down and shows how if you can over come ruts in your lane.
I want to start by saying that I haven’t read any of the other books in this series ( I know! I know! Clearly I’m an idiot ) … However, I did not feel lost or confused reading Dirt Driven as a standalone. BUT I will definitely be going on a huge binge read because if this series is anything like this book… WOW!
From beginning to end I was wholeheartedly invested in these characters and their journey. A read full of ALL the feels!
The Sweet Spot!
I cried ugly tears again while reading this series. I feel as though I am a part of the Riley family. I could be the normal distant cousin. The story never gets old and Arie and Rager are my favorite couple. Sad that this is the last book, but thankful for all the memories. Great job Shey Stahl!
The end this series is bittersweet. Shey Stahl nailed it with Arie and Rager. The highs and lows of their relationship had me laughing one minute and crying the next. Do yourself a favor and read it. You won’t be disappointed.
Omg I can’t believe this is the end . That was the hardest words I read . I absolutely love this book along with the rest of the series. I didn’t want to to end . The Riley clan is so much more than a book family they feel like family. This book features Arie and Rager and how their life at the dirt track keeps them hopping and going thru their lives . From the Walmart camping thru life on the road in a forty foot rv . I promise you you will not be disappointed
Nothing short of beautiful and bittersweet, this final book of the Racing on the Edge series is one you won’t want to miss! Buckle up, strap in tight, and get ready for all the feels because this beloved racing family is about to run away with your heart. Five stars for a standout finish.
Firstly I want to start with I haven’t read any of this series before this book (shame on me) but it didn’t effect my ability to follow the story in this book, it was a perfect standalone. The story itself was so so good. I couldn’t get enough of these characters and I was disappointed that it had to end. An excellent story that pulls you in and keeps you there happily.
I don’t know where to begin with this one.. I couldn’t put it down, but those page numbers kept taunting me as I got closer to the end of the book. Rager and Arie are couple goals. They persevere and love hard with every page. I’ve read this entire series multiple times, and this book was the perfect ending to an era of laughs, tears and racing. Shey delivered 110% with this book. I’m ready to read it all over again. Strap in for a ride you didn’t know you needed and indulge in some Rager Sweet!
Wow this series has been a ride and a ride within a ride when it came to Rager and Arie.
There has been moments in Arie’s 3 book where I really didn’t like her, and I really wanted to like her. I mean how can you not love the daughter of Jameson and Sway Riley. In Open Wheel she definitely started coming into her own and I absolutely fell in love with her and now in Dirt Driven she may just be a favorite of mine.
I cannot believe this is the end of this series. Jameson and Sway will forever be two of my most favorite characters ever. I can read their books over and over again.
Dirt Driven was a fantastic finale!
