Rock bottom would be a step– or three–UP from where I am right now… A year ago, I had it all and now I’m just grateful for a part time, minimum wage job scrubbing the gas station bathroom and a cot to crash on in my aunt’s garage. I’ve never been the kind of girl that looks for a man to pay her bills for her, but right about now I sure could use a sugar daddy. Too bad I’m too old for that … too old for that now– or am I?
He’s everything I could hope for: Rich, smart, easy to be around, and smokin’ hot! He’s offering me a fabulous beach front condo, a chance to finish my education and restart my career, and a life of high end cocktail parties, celebrity-studded charity fund-raisers, and gallery openings on the arm of a successful private art broker.
To bad he made it clear that we’re strictly platonic– all business. Because Brighton Ford is the kind of sugar daddy that Cinderella fantasies are made of.

Dipping a Toe in Sugar is a quick read that follows on couple to their happily ever after, high on cute, low on drama with a little naughty thrown in for fun and absolutely no cliff hanger ending.

This is a wonderful well-written story, it the first book a new series and has no cliffhangers and is a standalone romance story. The storyline is interesting and my heart broke for all the emotional drama that Paula went through, Brighton definitely brightened up her life. There is a bit of drama but nothing too over the top. Loved their HEA.
A sort of Cinderella story. I had to chuckle at their thoughts when the couple meets they both want to ditch the no kiss no sex clause of the contract! Lmao! When they both give into their desires things go awry after Brighton has to leave on a business trip. Sex and run causes a big miscommunication between the couple! See how/if things get a positive resolution.
I’m loving this new series by Rocklyn Ryder. It’s so different than the matchmaking series. This was about a down on her luck woman that was so desperate to change her life that she went online and become a sugar baby or well a sugar middle age woman. But her age didn’t stop her knight in shining armor to bail her out. Paula was exactly the type of woman that Brighton wanted in his professional and personal life.

Exceptional sugar and spice.
Paula Jacobs is 34, her life is wrecked by her ex and she’s desperate.
Brighton Ford needs sophisticated arm candy to help his career, the schmooze, you know.
He hires Paula as his sugar baby with no nooky expressly written out in their agreement.
What I liked?
Everything. This is what a novella should be.
Sweet, heat, all the feels, believable characters and situations.
Highly recommend.

What started out with a smidge of a Debbie Downer plot vibe quickly morphed into a sweet read. Paula had it all- a fiance, a house and her own business. Her man ended up doing her wrong, upending her seemingly perfect life into one full of strife and uncertainty. Desperate to keep moving forward, she signs up online to become a “sugar baby” to a wealthy man. Enter Brighton, a mid-40 year old art broker who just needs a date for work related events with looks, brains and the ability to know when to keep quiet. Can these two help each other out navigating life’s tricky turns without falling victim to their needy libidos?
“Dipping A Toe In Sugar” is a cleverly written, sweet romance with a definite HEA. A quick read sure to keep you warm on a cool fall night!
Paula’s background story honestly reminds me of what happened to my best friend and her ex. It’s so messed up. Brighton came into her life at just the right time. I loved his understanding and respect of her private life still. They are a sweetly romantic type couple. With just the right amount of sizzle. Loved it.
