From New York Times Bestseller, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, Comes Book Three of the Ohellno Series, DIGGING A HOLE. (Standalone.)HE’S THE MEANEST BOSS EVER.SHE’S THE SWEET SHY INTERN.THEY’RE ABOUT TO WRECK EACH OTHER CRAZY.My name is Sydney Lucas. I am smart, deathly shy, and one-hundred percent determined to make my own way in the world. Which is why I jumped at the chance to intern for Mr. Nick … jumped at the chance to intern for Mr. Nick Brooks despite his reputation. After ten failed interviews at other companies, he was the only one offering. Plus, everyone says he knows his stuff and surely a man as stunningly handsome as him can’t be “the devil incarnate,” right? Wrong.
Oh…that man. That freakin’ man has got to go! I’ve been on the job one week, and he’s insulted my mother, wardrobe shamed me, and managed to make me cry. Twice. Underneath that stone-cold, beautiful face is the evilest human being ever.
But I’m not going to quit. Oh no. For once in my life, I’ve got to make a stand. Only every time I open my mouth, I can’t quite seem to muster the courage. Perhaps my revenge needs to come in another form: destroying him quietly.
Because I’ve got a secret. I’m not really just an intern, and Sydney Lucas isn’t my real name.

Easy read about a shy and introverted Georgie. A wish to help her family against their narcissistic father leads to her finding her strength. Nick/Sam starts off rude and mean as part of his persona. Both have secrets. Enjoyed watching Georgie grow.

My Review:
This was my second time reading Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and I enjoy her clever humor and amusing wit. Her smooth and engaging writing style has a breezy flow and is easy to fall into. Although it took me a good while to fully warm up to the main character of Sydney as her mousy meekness and deathly fatal timidity annoyed me, she seemed too spineless to sit erect and did not speak up but ran sobbing to the bathroom even when boiling over with anger over blatant mistreatment. It took me half the book to appreciate her intellect and fully comprehend the cost of her efforts to move past her paralyzing anxiety and tendency to freeze, or as described herself, “a girl who locks up like a bad pair of brakes when anything remotely overwhelming happens.” The storylines were smartly paced, well-crafted, and had a little sizzle and snap.
Once again Mimi Jean Pamfiloff astounds and entertains with her quirky heroines and plots that keep you guessing when you are not ROTFLYourAO. Book three in the OHellNo series continues with a book that can be read as a standalone unless you like to know the backstories of everyone in which case at least read Oh Henry. It’s revealed pretty early in the book that Sydney Lucas is really Georgie Walton the youngest child in the Walton empire. She’s doing this to prove to everyone that she isn’t fragile and needs to be coddled. Her plan is to grow a backbone, learn something that will impress her siblings and prove to them that she can be strong enough to run the company with them. Her best friend gets her a job in one of her own companies as an assistant to the worst boss ever. Now all she has to do is stand up to him and not fall in love with him.
This book really does take you on a wild ride, there you are driving along peacefully thinking things are going just fine then suddenly Mimi (the driver) takes a wild 90 degree turn out of nowhere and you are nowhere where you thought you would be and you loved every second of it. But that’s how it is with most her books you jump into the book knowing it’s going to be wild and newbies to her work either jump on the Mimi train or run away screaming. So, like Scar in Lion King said, Be Prepared.
Overall, I think it’s safe to say I loved this book. Nick and Sydney it’s an emotional and angsty but at the same time it has you laughing book. For those who have read Oh Henry it does explain what happened when the Walton family went missing. This was a must read for me but then I do have my own car on the Mimi Train.
In this latest installation of the Ohellno series, Georgie, baby sister to Henry Walton of the fabulously wealthy Walton family, is convinced by her friend to take on an internship at one of her father’s companies. Georgie is shy to the point of making herself ill when having to deal with strangers. She finds out that the man she will be interning for is not a very nice man but she gets the job anyway. This story takes us through her crying daily in the bathroom because her boss is so mean, getting her revenge, and then discovering that she can stand up to him and that his mean treatment seems to be because he wants to help her. It doesn’t hurt that he is drop dead gorgeous. As usual, however, all is not what it seems and Georgie is put in the middle of a horrible situation. Can she learn to stand up for herself and save her family? Can she find the love of her life? Read it for yourself and find out!!
My goodness this story just grabs you and does not let go even days after reading it! Loved this entertaining, emotional, engaging and lough out loud fun, enemies to so much more journey….
Sydney Lucas is a sweet, charming, painfully shy and determined to prove to her family she can be so much more that what they see her as, the baby of the family and a wall flower. Nick Brooks is sinfully sexy, yet rude and thought of as meaner than a hungry alligator. He is also Sydney’s new boss that sends her hiding in bathroom crying more than once….. Loved every unexpected twist and turn in this awesomely thrilling romantic adventure!
Digging a Hole by Mimi Jean Pamillof is another wonderfull addition to the OHellNo series. In Digging a Hole the Walton family drama continues in addition to following Georgie and Mark’s story as well.
I loved seeing Georgies growth and seeing her embrace her new self. While Mark is every employees worst nightmare (especially for a girl like Georgie), there is something so intriguing about him. You cant help but be pulled into not only Georgie and Mark’s shenanigans (you go girl!) but the ever changing Walton family drama as well.
This book is jammed packed with alot of cringe worthy, hysterical moments. Another thing I appreciated about how this book is written is that although there are some very sad situations in the book, Pamillof has written about them in away that acknowledges the seriousness of them but will not reduce you to a sobbing mess.
This is a great read that will leave you gasping for breath, trying to hide from the cringy parts and pumping your fists with pride. Another must read by the great Mim
Now I’ve been a fan of Mimi’s books since her King trilogy, those are constant re-reads of mine. And for the life of me, I have no idea why I fell into this series so late! Whenever I read one of her books, I literally just sit there and ponder about how the heck she comes up with this stuff?! Like, this story went in a completely different direction than I originally thought, but I loved every bit of it!
One of my absolute favorite things in this book was the personal journey that Sydney goes on. She was quiet and meek, never really standing up for herself, but the entire time you know that she has so much to stay. She’s an absolutely beautiful and smart woman, and I wholly appreciated that Nick Brooks, the a-hole boss, forces her to leave her shy tendencies at bay. And brings forth the fierce woman that she truly is. In Nick’s case, one not to be trifled with.
Once she was able to finally start speaking up for herself, it brought so many hilarious moments when it came to Nick, her a-hole boss. But no matter what, he always seemed to know what she was up to. Bit of a mystery there, eh?
This was an awesome enemies to lovers story. Sparks and tension were flying from the very beginning, but I loved witnessing it unfold little by little. You’ll enjoy watching Nick’s demeanor change around Sydney because he can’t be an a-hole forever especially when it comes to Sydney.
I’m forever a fan of Mimi’s work, her stories are unique and 100% entertaining! Now I need to go back and read the rest of this series!
Another score for Mimi Jean Pamfiloff!
Mimi Jean does it again with another smash hit in the Ohellno series. A fun read with many snort-laugh moments spread throughout the book. And a Mimi Jean book wouldn’t be complete without all the twists and turns to keep you guessing and on your toes throughout the whole book.
Oh my heavens, this book had me in stitches. I haven’t read the first two books but it didn’t drastically affect my ability to enjoy the book. Each story can fully stand alone.
Georgie, under the guise as Sydney Lucas, was a wonderful heroine to me. I suffer from social anxiety so to see the way she was almost afraid of her own shadow but then drew from the inner strength of her “warrior squirrel”. I loved that she hid her name to get an internship for the purpose of showing her family she was not the fragile flower they all think she was.
Nick, who is also Sam, was a surprise. At first I could not stand him . But he surprisingly grew on me the more we get to know him. I can’t go into too much detail why as I don’t want to give out any surprises.
I liked how the characters felt real and like you know them. The story flows well, the interjections of flashbacks to what they went through after being kidnapped were perfectly timed to add to the story. I’ll be enjoying more of this series and trying other series by this author in the future.
Warrior squirrels…really?!
There were so many arguments, one liners and hysterical happenings going on in Georgie’s head, it’s no wonder she finally blew!
Georgie Walton, the intern, is extremely smart but excruciatingly shy, and Nick Brooks, the boss, is damaged and on a mission for revenge. He plays his part flawlessly, and she reacts as expected, until she doesn’t, but all is not as it seems however, it never really is with this author, and that’s why I keep coming back. Buckle up for snarky banter, teddy bears, wardrobe malfunctions and some of the best pranks befitting the worst a$$hole you’ll ever meet.
If you’re not reading this series, you are seriously missing out on some of the best entertainment available between two covers…the book kind, I mean…LOL! One minute, I’m mad as hell, the next minute I’m laughing so hard I’m in tears. Every last character in this series is believable and you will find something about their personalities you can relate to ! This series is not to be missed <3
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff hits the mark every time! She never fails to give her readers an exceptional reading experience. She gives us characters who have depth, intelligence, strength, and passion. They are witty, charming, and sometimes outrageously funny. The storylines are interesting, evenly paced, well written and thoroughly entertaining. Digging A Hole is no exception. I loved it!
Georgina Walton needs to become a dragon slayer. All her life her innate shyness has been debilitating but now she needs to prove to her family and most of all to herself that she is capable of stepping and helping to run the family business. The dragon she has to slay? Her a-hole boss Nick Brooks. Things go sideways quickly and Nick is fired by Georgie’s brother, Henry. Nick has to reveal who he really is when Georgie does some sleuthing and an accidental meeting with Nick’s sister-in-law reveals more information. Then, Sam McDaniel AKA Nick Brooks drops a real bomb on Georgie and he recruits her in taking down her family. Even though things look bad for her brother, Georgie sets out tp prove his innocence. She successfully obtains the information she needs from her deceitful, conniving father. When Georgie learns that Sam walked away from the investigation, she knows then that he loves her as much as she loves him. Now all she has to do is get him to admit it.
Have no fear, there is an HEA!
Another hit for this reader from Mimi Jean!
I love her ability to weave serious tones with humor, it makes for an enjoyable read and difficult to put it down. She leads you on the road to a shy woman who is doing her best to prove her worth to her family. She finds an a-hole of a man she can’t help but feel drawn to. If she wasn’t digging herself a good hole, Mimi Jean tosses in a twist that makes you wonder what she has planned for this book.
The 3rd book in this series takes us into the life of Georgie Walton (Henry’s little sister) and Nick Brooks. He really is the biggest a hole boss on the planet. He makes her cry in the bathroom and treats her like crap. She eventually has enough and learns to stand up for herself. It’s a huge break for her because she has always been in the shadows and shy since she was a little girl.
The story was well written and had some good twists and turns.
Sam and Georgie
A well written, steamy, can’t put it down novel! Loved the great characters and storyline! A must read from me!
Another good book from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff! The latest romcom, Digging A Hole was HYSTERICAL and STEAMY and with LOL banter and chemistry that is straight up, THROUGH THE ROOF and characters that readers will adore (and maybe one or two they will hate at first), its no wonder the book is getting MIGHTY FINE HIGH PRAISES!
This book made me giggle-snort so many times and after a few really scorching scenes, I even needed a change of panties they were SO HOT. This story was a hoot to read. It was irresistible its as simple as that! Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is a definite ONE-CLICK author!
Digging A Hole gets a HYSTERICAL FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
Sydney Lucas has been turned down for internships everywhere she goes. Painfully shy, she just can’t seem to even get through the interview process without mortifying things happening… like throwing up from nerves in the middle of an interview. Her best friend, Abi gets her one last interview with Nick Brooks of Palo Verde Pharmaceuticals, a division of Walton Holdings. Nick is abrasive to say the least, and to call him just a jerk is being kind! According to Sydney he’s a complete a-hole but he’s offering her the job so Sydney has to take it. Working for Nick Brooks is hard on her, she spends much of her time crying in the bathroom but when he pushes her too far, Sydney pushes back because she has a secret. She’s not really Sydney Lucas and she’s not nearly as defenseless as she appears to be!
He’s the hero that you love to hate. She’s the heroine you want to root for. Digging A Hole is hard to figure out, but an irresistible experience. Pamfiloff pulled a fast one. Nothing is as it seems. There’s a little bit of everything in this story. The twists are rapid and never-ending. Giving away one would be like ruining them all. Don’t blink. You might miss something. A MUST READ!
Sometimes I wanted to punch Nick in the face he could be very condescending, “…But next time you’d like to talk about my big ***k, how about doing it out of earshot of Mr. Craigson there?” Nick could be such a smart***, “the frown is instant as he looks me over in my plain black skirt and blue blouse. “Where’s your dress?” I lift the garment bag draped over my arm. “You do realize you actually have to put it on, right?” he says.” Our girl sure knows how to put her foot in her mouth, “…I’d like to have babies with you,” I mumble before I drift off.” I freaking love this series, these characters are easy to love and just entertaining to read about.
Sydney Lucas is the sweetest soul but she’s also shy, painfully, mind numbingly, paralyzingly, unable to speak shy. So why is she working for Nick Brooks the cruelest monster of a boss ever? She has something to prove to herself
and to her family. She may not be able to gather the courage to tell him all the castigations in her head, but she can ruin him behind the scenes. She’s smart, she’s cunning and she’s got a secret. She’s more than an intern and her name isn’t really Sydney Lucas.
Nick Brooks is a ruthless, cold hearted jerk with a reputation for business that can make your resume just by working for him. He has also insulted this intern and made her cry for the last time.
Told strictly from Sydney’s point of view Digging A Hole jumps right into the present day; approximately 4 ½ months after the end of Oh Henry. Where she has just bombed the most recent attempt to land an internship by way of vomiting oatmeal on the interviewer’s shoes. When her best friend convinces her to apply for the internship with a pharmaceutical company working for the devil himself she’s shocked to be offered the job on the spot. Especially considering how the interview went, he barked, she squeaked, and with an extreme level of loathing he tells her she’s hired and starts on Monday. What could go wrong?
From the start of the book you identify with Sydney and her struggles, as she flashes back to the horrors she survived just 4 months past all while trying to navigate through her new reality and growing as a person. Refusing to be chased from this job she deems herself Warrior Squirrel and Nick her own person Dragon to slay. The battle of wills between our two main characters is powerful, funny, and full of fury and passion. Clearly neither was prepared for the other as they each catch glimpses of character contradictions. It would have been easy to color
with broad strokes, but Sydney and Nick have each have their own depths that can I can only describe as masterful.
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff has this way of writing her characters with a level of humanity that you can’t help but relate to them on some level, not despite their flaws but, because of them. If you are looking for a heartfelt read that will make you laugh out loud, yell a little, cringe and never be able to even consider yoga without an internal cringe, then this is the book for you.
3rd book in the OHellNo Series.
Picking up 4 and a half months after the goings on in book 2.
If you haven’t read book 2 in this series, you really must..because it gives background to this book and a massive chunk of the plot.
Henry Weston and his sisters are fighting to get their calculating father sent to prison after kidnapping ( his wife and daughters and taking them to Nut/bush city and holding them hostage ) Henry’s youngest sister Georgie…painfully shy and anxious is fed up of being told what she can and cannot do…. by her father, her mother and her will meaning siblings… enough is enough… she will prove them all wrong by gaining employment and building on her confidence…and help save the companies that the Weston family owns… that employs so many people and saves so many lives.
what she doesn’t count on is becoming an intern at one of her families own companies, companies that hier brother and new wife are currently managing… and know how protective Henry is.. Georgie must become someone else.. SYDNEY… it’s only for a few weeks… to prove she is capable, that she is an adult, that she is useful… not just to her siblings but to herself!!
That is after she slays the sexy, moody overbearing a-hole that is her boss… Nick Brass… who confuses her and spins her head.. so much that she doesn’t know which way she going… until she suffers one put down too many by him… it’s time to take that sucker DOWN!!
WILD SQUIRREL ATTACK!!
But there is more at stake than what Georgie initially anticipates and truths are revealed…in more ways than one.
This book was freaking hilarious, there were so many moments where I found myself laughing like a total idiot at the situation unfolding…too many overheard conversations… or scenarios where wonderful SYDNEY/aka Georgie found her self looking like a complete NUT!!…#Jazzercise!!
Despite his true moments of deuce- canoery ( #DollarFanny ) there were some truly wonderful emotion packed, breathe stealing moments of chemistry between Georgie and Nick and I loved every snarky, witty, heartbreaking one of them!
I loved seeing Georgie ‘grow up’ taking her power and striking back to protect both herself and her family. It was wonderful story making and brilliantly done.
I devoured this book, it was fantastic and by far my favourite in the OHellNo series to date!
