Different as Night and DayI laid my husband to rest….Scott was my world and my future. His love for me transcended the dimensions of time and space—having made provisions for me in the event of his death. He was after all in a war zone and the odds were high he may not come home. But now I can’t help but think about the new man in my life – my husband’s father.Maguire creates a desire deep … desire deep inside of me I never knew existed. This is more than lust. I keep on asking myself the same question. Have I fallen in love with him because he’s so much like my late husband or because he’s his own man? Only time will tell.
After all, you can’t choose love, it chooses you.

Wonderful characters and story! So worth the wait!
What can I say about “Different as night and day”? Leigh Lennon wrote an amazing conclusion to an addicting duet that will take you on the roller-coaster ride of feels. Ohhh my how many times I want to throw my reader away or shake main characters until they would get their grip finally… For me all the feels I get when I’m reading a book is definitely a statement that this history will stay long time with me. And I basically have it all time with Leigh’s books.
So as to the story as always while trying to avoid all spoilers. This book picks up just right after end of first one which ended with huge cliffhanger. And as always Leigh Lennon is more than ready to blow your mind with this book as basically happens with her every book.
With this book you will get all the brutal, beautiful, raw and you will ask yourself if you would be ready for the ultimate sacrifice of amazing love because of world standards.
I can’t say anything more cause I don’t want to destroy for you reading that amazing story. But all I want to say is that prepare yourselves for wanting to yell “Noooo!!” and wanting to throw your eReader away. That’s the quality of amazing written book and duet which I highly recommend to all of you.
Holland is a widow at 22, however her husband Scott left a precious piece of himself behind. His dying wishes for his father to make sure Holland was taken care of. Maguire loves Holland and Scotland, he’d do anything for them but she is riddled with guilt. What would Scott think about her impure thoughts of his father? How would this impact on Scotland? There is no doubt Holland loves Maguire but she fights the attraction. With no parents to speak of she leans on Elise who is like a surrogate mum. She gives her a gentle nudge in the direction of happiness. The real question…is love enough?
What a fabulous ending to this heartwrenching duet. I loved Holland and Maguire’s story. It was “forbidden” yet you could feel that they were meant to be together because Leigh Lennon does a fantastic job pulling you in. So much angst and drama, yet humor and love as well, that you were never really sure where you would end up. I laughed, cried, got ticked off and swooned while reading these books.
It’s been a few hours since I’ve finished this book and I’m still at a loss for words. I’m going to say I didn’t like it as much as the first book. There was a lot of back and forth and like 10 minutes of happy together. I struggled with that. This couple has been though a lot and still continued to go through things. That was fine, but I wanted to see them together together more then we did and lean on eachother like they did in the first book. I’m not saying that everyone else that reads it won’t like that, but for me, there was a point where I needed the push and pull to stop and it didn’t.
That being said, the author did write a beautiful story about two people coming together despite how wrong it might be. I loved all the characters and loved seeing them finally get to the point where they could accept their feelings. I will be watching for more books by this author because she has a great writing style. I’m giving it 3 stars stars, not because it was a bad story, but because I couldn’t be completely engrossed with the story. Again, this is just how the story made me feel, but I know that there will be tons who love it. #2OCCJD
olls has seen so much tragedy for such a young lady. Unfortunately, she is set to drift from one disaster right into another all while fighting her shattered heart.
The broken pieces of her heart only beat for one man now- Maguire. He is taboo in more than one way. He is over whatever everyone may think.
If it’s one lesson life has taught him, it’s that life is to fleeting to waste time.
No pulled punches in this rollercoaster of life. The letter though – sniffles as i sigh dreamily- one could only hope to he loved so much.
No cliffhangers this time around. HEA but boy did they have to fight for it.
This was a pretty good read. I got tired of the back and forth, wishy washyness of Holland though
I loved this duet! It hooked me from the beginning and I devoured both books in two days. While this book had a taboo romance, I didn’t actually feel like it was too taboo. Falling for your deceased husband’s father is not quite the same as falling for your living husband’s father in my eyes. That being said while I loved the angst in this book, I was beginning to really dislike Holland and her indecisiveness by the middle of the book and it took til the last chapter to redeem herself for me. I loved Maguire! He was sweet, steady, loyal and sexy. His love for his girls was swoon worthy! Overall I absolutely loved this duet and highly recommend it!
This book consumed me and I couldn’t put it down. If I could give it more than a five stars I would.
The first book left us with a cliffhanger and this one continues right where it left off. Holland did not have a very easy year after Scott’s death and it only gets harder because of the things that she has to go through with Maguire. So, can she give into her true feelings or will the outside world prove them to be wrong?
The twists in this story—d**n–I didn’t see them coming and I really wanted to reach in and smack the characters.
Leigh Lennon brought every emotion alive in this book. I can say I was sad that this duet is finished because I loved all the characters.
How the heck am I even a bigger mess after reading this one than the first. This book takes you on one of the most perfect emotional roller coasters that left me breathless
HOLY MOLY!! What an EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER RIDE of Epic Proportions!! DIFFERENT AS DAY AND NIGHT…Picks Up were LIKE FATHER LIKE SON Left Off with the Mother of All Cliffhangers!!
Holland is left wondering where Her Life is going to take her Now! She Had to Endure so many Obstacles since After her husband’s Sudden death plus being Such A Young Age. When life gives you Lemons…you make Lemonade but in Holland’s case….She didn’t know what to do! She was so indecisive but had to do what was Right For Her & Honor her Dead husband Scott.
Love Does NOT have A Label on Who You Fall In Love With Nor the Age Difference. The Heart Desires What the Heart Desires!
DIFFERENT AS DAY AND NIGHT teaches you LOVE IS LOVE No Matter What!
This Book is a Must Read and a Perfect Ending to a Beautiful Dual Series!!
Holy cow, this story deserves 10 stars it’s THAT good!!
We were left on the cliff at the end of Like Father Like Son and this picks up from there. Holland hasn’t had the easiest year and it’s about to get harder but how long can she keep fighting her true feelings before finally giving in??
Leigh Lennon brings every emotion out with her writing, this is truly a masterpiece. I love the series and the way it concluded.
I could not read this fast enough. I had to know what happened.
I was scared, I didn’t know where Leigh was going with this book.
I shouldn’t have been because Leigh’s books are always great.
I loved Holland and McGuire. I loved this story, a bit taboo but oh sooooo good!!!!!!
I could not have predicted where this story was going or how it ended.
Do yourself a favor and read this duet you won’t be sorry.
Different as Night and Day is a must read after finishing Like Father Like Son. This book picks up right after the ending if the first book and does not disappoint. The emotions you go through while reading this angst of all angsts book runs the gamut from happy to sad to angry to unexpected. Leigh Lennon does a wonderful job of pulling the reader in to this story that questions love, and without spoiling the story I’ll leave it at that. Just know that this book is just as exciting as the first and well worth the read!
This is book two in the Father/Son Duet. You need to read book one Like Father, Like Son before you begin reading this book. This book picks up where the cliffhanger of book one left off. This is a very angsty, emotional and slow-burning story. As someone that really enjoys the forbidden romance trope I was extremely eager to read this series and I enjoyed book one. As for book two, I thought that it was basically a good read. I felt that the story idea was interesting and complex. It is filled with a lot of tension, drama, angst and emotional turmoil. I wish I could have liked and enjoyed it as much as I desperately wanted to. However, this book had me hissy fit frustrated, torn between my heart aching for Maguire and the desire to tell him to “Smarten up and move on”, hating Holland with a passion and in the end so emotionally worn out by it all that I was simply almost too tired to care how it all ended. I thought Maguire was a good hearted guy but a pushover. I felt for him and wanted him to be happy. He deserved someone that would love him and be completely comitted to him. I just didn’t get that from Holland. What started out as her realistic and heart aching quandary, morphed into what I felt was game playing, manipulation and plain and simple shrewishness. Turns out Maguire has a type and he obviously never learned his lesson from his first go round with it. Holland’s actions, thoughts and feelings, in my opinion, reached nerve grating, OTT levels and left me severely in doubt that this couple could ever maintain a successful long term relationship and that is why this ended up being only an OK read for me about a couple I could not believe in.
The first book ended on a cliffhanger and I was eager to read what happened next. I did enjoy it but I got very frustrated and at times annoyed with McGuire and Holland! Holland for denying how she felt and giving McGuire mixed signals and him for pushing her so much! I just wanted to bang their heads together!
Holland feels guilty about having feelings for her father in law, and although she loves him she keeps trying to keep him a distance, whilst trying to date a few other men, but there is nothing more than feelings of friendship with them!
McGuire knows what he wants and that’s Holland, he loves her so much and wants her in his life with Scotland! He knows people will grown upon their relationship but he will fight for them.
On the day that Holland and Scottie are due to leave to start a new life McGuire hands her a letter from his son and her husband Scott, what she reads makes her mind up finally, she knows what she wants, but can she do it?
Oh wow. The deut complete and I loved this second book. An emotional rollercoaster but what a ride. Amazing and just loved reading this. No spoilers on this second book, but we see so much more with Holland & Maguire xx
This book picks up where the cliffhanger ended.
Holland and Maguire have come so far only to have things crumble again. Holland doesn’t trust what she feels for Maguire. Every time they get close something happens. Maguire needs her to know that the feelings they have are real and OK. Only time will tell if they can both be on the same page with their feelings.
This book had so much packed into it! Loss, love, heartbreak, more love. The author did a great job with a taboo subject. I felt this book could have gone the wrong way with this subject line but the author did a great job!
I have enjoyed this 2nd book since I was left hanging from book 1. I needed answers because of how it ended for Sarge and Holland. Again the relationship with Holland and Maguire is not typical and most would turn their nose down to it especially when a child is involved that is related. Sometimes you just need to look at this with fresh eyes and have an open mind. I think Leigh did a great job with this that it wasn’t as creepy as most may think it is. Being truthful with other is the best option and not hiding what they mean to each other.
It is advised that you read book 1 before this one so you know the whole story. As with any book or story please always keep an open mind as not every story is for everyone.
Leigh’s books are definately different than other authors but she seems to be able to pull it off for me at least.
Ohhhh my heart and soul got sucked into this duet. If I had a favorite book for the year it would be Like Father, Like Son. From the tragedy to the character development, and even the taboo content Leigh stole my heart mind and sole with this story!
I was so anxious to get the rest of the story in Different As Night and Day. I had this burning desire to find out what happened to Scottie and who Holland chose to be with.
While Leigh Lennon Delivered one hell of a story, I couldn’t connect to this part as much as did to book 1. I felt like all the character development was left in book 1, while I remembered the first part of the story vividly I wish certain characters ( specifically Jase, and Christine) had more air time so to speak. What happened at the end was great, but I needed more validation from behind those actions. The same thing With Holland, all the back and forth got a little much, I just wanted her to mature a little bit! BUT
I really did enjoy the story as a whole and Leigh Lennon is still a one click author to me! I really enjoy the risks she takes in writing an unforgettable story!
