“If you’re a fan of Susan Santangelo’s humorous Baby Boomer Mystery series, Dieting Can Be Murder, the seventh book in the series, won’t disappoint. Carol Andrews needs to lose the weight she gained on her recent second honeymoon. But where Carol goes, dead bodies follow, and such is the case when another dieter in her weight loss group is murdered. Of course, Carol can’t help but start nosing … around to find the killer. After all, the woman collapsed and died on top of her.”
—Lois Winston, USA Today Bestselling Author of the Critically Acclaimed Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery Series
There’s a little too much to love about Carol Andrews these days, thanks to the extra calories she consumed during her second honeymoon in Florida with her husband, Jim. Determined to shed the extra pounds before the birth of her first grandchild, Carol joins Tummy Trimmers, a new, holistic approach to fighting—and winning—the battle of the bulge. But her weight loss regimen is interrupted by another group member, who collapses on Carol right after completing a meditation exercise to help lose weight, and dies. When the evidence points to murder, the always curious Carol can’t resist adding sleuthing to her personal weight loss routine.

Easy read — pretty predictable, yet fun to read.
Read most of the books in the series and enjoyed them all.
I read 40% of this book. It just couldn’t grab me.too dry. No action.
I read this while on a diet – it made it amusing! Great characters, nice story and an easy read.
I hate books where someone has to lose 10 – 20 pounds and call that dieting. Ugh!
Easy read. Yes, the main character can be annoying, but her friends understand and accept her….and love her…so I’m cool with her! A great beach or airport read since you really don’t have to think….just go along for the ride!
Nice to read about people my age. We have fun too!!
All baby boomers need to read this book!
Stolen memes for chapter titles, character development is weak.
Anyone who as dieted can identify with this book. Just good escape reading.
Way too cutesy. This author needs a good (ruthless) editor. The plot doesn’t hold together all that well either.
Very homespun humor, all to do with dieting.
The main character can be any of us females. Her encounters are really funny. I found myself laughing out loud so many times…
I didn’t finish it. Mostly skimmed.. The humor was so terribly predictable.
enjoyed the humor
Donald Trump in a Dress?
Maybe this is one of those series that really can’t be entered via a later book — this was my first experience of this author. But oh boy, did I get tired of its heroine.
The book is written in the first person, so you never get away from her. And she is self-absorbed; self-indulgent; mentally, physically, and emotionally lazy; pretty much useless, to herself and everyone around her; and someone who has chosen never to grow up — and thinks all that is pretty darn cute of herself.
From about the 25% mark to around the 75% point, it was pretty much a toss-up at the end of every chapter whether I’d quit or keep going. I did finish the book — it’s quite competently written (thus the two stars) — but then I filed it in my “Authors to avoid” collection.
This is a multivolume series — obviously, this character doesn’t make every reader want to throw up. I certainly can’t recommend this book, but clearly some people enjoyed it.
Did not like main character. Too whiny
I have read Carol Andrews books before. Always entertaining, probably because we are about the same age.
Fun story with lots of plot twists
Enjoyed this book so much I read four more by the same author and found the qualities I liked about it to be consistent in all of the books. Great light reading!
