“If you’re a fan of Susan Santangelo’s humorous Baby Boomer Mystery series, Dieting Can Be Murder, the seventh book in the series, won’t disappoint. Carol Andrews needs to lose the weight she gained on her recent second honeymoon. But where Carol goes, dead bodies follow, and such is the case when another dieter in her weight loss group is murdered. Of course, Carol can’t help but start nosing … around to find the killer. After all, the woman collapsed and died on top of her.”
—Lois Winston, USA Today Bestselling Author of the Critically Acclaimed Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery Series
There’s a little too much to love about Carol Andrews these days, thanks to the extra calories she consumed during her second honeymoon in Florida with her husband, Jim. Determined to shed the extra pounds before the birth of her first grandchild, Carol joins Tummy Trimmers, a new, holistic approach to fighting—and winning—the battle of the bulge. But her weight loss regimen is interrupted by another group member, who collapses on Carol right after completing a meditation exercise to help lose weight, and dies. When the evidence points to murder, the always curious Carol can’t resist adding sleuthing to her personal weight loss routine.

Ok
I felt like I was reading an autobiography of my weight loss journey. All the mental games I play in my dieting life. I am watching for more books by the same author.
The author creates very good characters who interact extremely well with one another. And it’s an easy read as the situations feed into each other extremely well. The main character is amusing as a kind of modern Miss Marple though not quite as skillful in some ways. I found it fun to read and very easy to follow along with.
All in all I liked it. It read pretty easy.
I got tired of the character “conversing”with me. I just wanted to read a good cozy story.
I enjoy the entire Baby Boomers series
Not interesting. Could not finish.
Easy reading and not obvious solution. Good for a beach read.
Totallly enjoyed this book and a good mystery,
Very average writing.
Love her books. I would highly recommend her whole series. She makes me laugh and since I am also a baby boomer, I can relate.
Nothing special. Main character was depicted as a bumbling housewife.
It is not really a mystery.
Believable characters. Very easy to read with an interesting murder mystery.
Great story line and even has some good diet tips along the way.
A quick and entertaining read. Thoroughly enjoyed the main character and her family.
I really liked this book. I can see my friends and I getting into this type of trouble. The characters are believable. I think I may know some of them already. I do wish that I had read them in order instead of starting with “Dieting Can Be Murder.” Still enjoyable.
The long narrative on the agonies of dieting became so tedious that I disliked the protagonist. I quit reading the book before the mystery was established, because I was hoping to read a mystery, not a dieting book.
Fun series and fun book but a bit more wacky than if my preference. I like my cozy heroines to be a bit less like Lucy and more like Kinsey, V.I., or Lucky.
Loved it. Will definitely read more of her books.
