Dibs—a game that spanned over two decades between three friends. My best friends, Juls, Kat and me. It’s easy. One girl calls dibs on a guy making him off limits to the others. It’s a game of ‘what if’ and who saw the hot guy first. Honestly, the ‘dibs’ guy never panned out…yet. But it was tradition and you never screw with tradition…
I’m Dr. Samantha Williams—queen of banter, following rules … following rules and divorced from the biggest ass in ex-husband history. Fighting hard to swallow my OCD ways and get lost on a luxury cruise liner for 12 days—all for the sake of friendship. Yep, drinks and dibs!
A wedding party going on a cruise together? Come on! Get real. 12 days of torture! I’m Mac McAllister – I don’t discuss my past. I’ve never done relationships. Rules? What rules… Yet, the moment that woman walked away from me after putting me in my place, all I could think was—challenge accepted. Who did she think she was? I’ll tell you…she was a woman that slayed me with her smile and murdered me with her wit… She may not need me, but after all these years, I finally needed someone. It was her.
Mac McAllister is about to learn the rules of Dibs.
The game of Dibs is about to change.

I loved the fact that this book was about a woman who was a 40-year-old divorced woman who was also a mom. I loved her life-long friendship with her girlfriends and their snarky banter. I also liked the fact that she was able to find love again . I really like the fact that Sam, the heroine was sarcastic, flawed, and had insecurities.
I liked the hero, Mac, and the fact that he did not let Sam hide behind her insecurities. I love that he saw her anxiety and wanted to ease her discomfort when it escalated. I loved Mac and Sam together.
There were so many humorous moments in this story. There were moments that warmed my heart. That being said, I had a hard time with some of the stereotypes used by the author to get a laugh. There were some lines that were insensitive and one in particular that was outright offensive. I am not sure how it got by a sensitivity editor.
Overall, it was a good story that, in my opinion, needed a sensitivity edit and a little less stereotyping for laughs. I would have enjoyed it more if the focus had been more on the romance between Sam and Mac, than the sarcastic comebacks between the two.
This is my first read by this author and it was enjoyable. Loved the banter between the three friends and then you add a couple of hot guys into the mix. You couldn’t ask for anymore. There are some hesitancy on the heroine’s part due to the age difference but is that enough to cause her to walk away from what could be true love and her HEA. Great read and I will be reading more from this author.
This was my first book by Kristi and I really enjoyed reading this one so I am looking forward to reading more books from her. It was a very entertaining and steamy read. I was highly entertained with the interaction and banter between Mac and Sam. She was feisty and challenged him at every turn which I really enjoyed.
I think we have all played ‘dibs’ at some point in our life when out with friends so i really enjoyed watching these girls having fun on their cruise. When your life has changed and you need a reboot what better way to do that then on a cruise with your best friends.
This book not only had some great humour in the beginning but paired with the emotional second half it worked really well. Kristi made me laugh, swoon and cry which makes this a book i would recommend.

Sam and Mac has a great love story. This story is full of passion love and steamy hot sex. It also a age gap story. When Sam and her 2 friends Juls and Kat go on a cruise Mac rescue sam from her life jacket and that where they meet for the first time. You can tell the chemistry between them right off the bat. They was always arguing back and forward it seems like foreplay. Sam tried to resist Mac because of the age difference but gives in anyway. Even though they agree to the affair until the cruise is over both start falling for each. After the cruise tragedy happens in Sam life. Will Mac be there for here her or Will their affair end on the cruise? And if they will get their hea? You need to read to found out. It a really great story. You won’t regret reading it.
A fun and steamy read. Samantha is a gynecologist and goes on a cruise with her best friends. While on the cruise Sam sees Mac and immediately calls dibs on him. Sam thinks Mac is hot and a bit too arrogant at first so she hesitates being with him. Mac thinks Sam is sexy, smart, and funny and he can’t get enough of her. I loved the banter between Sam and Mac and when Sam finally gives in and let’s down her guard with him things get hot! Will Sam and Mac find their happily ever after when she learns his secret? Read and find out for yourself, you’ll be happy you did. A fantastic read and one I recommend.
I absolutely loved this book. It shows how’s never too late to find love, no matter how broken or how old you are, every person deserves a second chance, or a third. Sam is such an amazing woman, she’s strong, beautiful, but so full of insecurities from her past, it broke my heart. Mac has dark past that left him with a damaged soul, but that’s the beauty of this book. How two broken individuals come together and connect so strongly, it’s enchanting. It’s also one of the things I loved about this book, it depicts real people, real emotions. It shows that no one’s perfect, and that sometimes perfection is only achieved when two broken pieces come together. This was my first book by this amazing author and now I can’t wait to find some other hidden gems from her
I loved this book! Sam was such a relatable character for me! She’s older with a child, anxiety and an ex a-hole that’s mentally abusive. I loved that Mac came in and pushed her out of her comfort zone and showed her how to be happy! It’s great that his character has his issues too. Two imperfect people finding love after all they’ve both been through. It didn’t matter that she was a doctor and he owned the business he did. Great book and new to me author!
