From USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a forbidden romance about an Irish rebel who falls in love with the wrong girl.Dear Diary, I might have gotten myself into a wee bit of trouble—and I’m not talking about the “court mandated community service,” or “therapy sessions from bashing a bloke in the head” kind of trouble. I wish it were that simple. Nope. I’m talking about the “falling …
Nope. I’m talking about the “falling in love with one of my client’s daughters,” kind of trouble . . .
The kind of problem I can’t talk my way out of when the truth gets out.
How I ended up with her phone is a long story—and when she called to get it back, I took things a bit too far. One innocent exchange wound up leading to so much more.
Fun, new, and totally immune to my charm, Sutton is different. And I had no idea she was the daughter of Foster Green.
Blame it on the dark colored stout running through my veins, pushing me toward one bad decision after another. Pushing me toward her even though I know right from wrong; even though she’s my client’s daughter.
Dating her might be the best or worst decision I’ve ever made. Only time, whiskey, and one more roll around the mattress with her will tell.
Roark
more
You know, I started reading this, and I thought man this Roark is a douche hole lol. Why would Quinn write a character like this? Then of course. I didn’t have anything to worry about. Roark is an interesting character. There are a lot of layers to him, so you don’t know what is going on with him. Because he doesn’t show it. But he does meet his match in Sutton.
There was such an emotional pull in this story. You couldn’t help but fall for these characters, even with their faults, and insecurities. There is real love there, and you feel it. I was brought to tears in some parts of the story because that feeling was so strong.
Quinn does it again, writing a story that catches your heart. He may be the “bad boy,” but he’s so much more than that.
This story had me laughing and screaming at my kindle at the same time. I have to say that the hero in this story made me mad at first because he was an arsehole and he was rude and broody and all that and that made me dislike him at first but as I read I learned to like him and found him quite funny even though he was an arsehole.
Sutton and Roark meet because they accidentally grab each other’s phone. When they go back to swap phones they immediately feel an attraction for one another and share one night together that is explosive and mind blowing. When the two go on their way they still feel something for one another but Roark finds out that he has slept with his client’s daughter and that is a no go but he wants of her and she wants more of him.
What are these two going to do? Are they going to give it a go and see each other or are they just going to remain friends?

Boy accidentally takes phone from girl. Girl tries to get phone. Boy teases girl and bam you have a hit by Meghan Quinn. All though in this readers defense Roark and his Irish accent just did me in. I loved the tension in the beginning leading up to a very hot and sexy times between these two. We see a side of Roark nobody sees and it scares him. Sutton is perfect for him in every way from her passion, patience and the love she wants to give him. All in all this is one bad Irish boy you don’t want to pass up and we see the guys again Bram and Rath still hot as ever. Loved it.

5 star review of Diary of A Bad Boy by Meghan Quinn
What a great read this one was; I was hooked from the first chapter to the last and couldn’t put this book down; I was totally immersed in the story that Meghan Quinn wove.
I had so many laugh out loud moments reading this book that I am sure the people around me thought I was a lunatic. There is absolutely nothing that I would change about Diary of a Bad Boy; I loved it.
The chemistry between Roark McCool and Sutton Forrest was so intense that you could almost feel it as you were reading. Their banter, the humour between Sutton and Roark was so much fun to read.
Roark was such a charismatic broody hero and I couldn’t help but fall for him. I loved how feisty and sassy Sutton is whilst also being innocent and vulnerable. Roark knows he needs to keep away from Sutton but he cannot do it, I think that made me fall for him even more.
Diary of a Bad Boy is a story of love, hope and acceptance, it was also a bit of an emotional roller coaster at times.
This is a little gem and I loved it.
NO SPOILERS!
Diary of a Bad Boy was a standalone contemporary romance filled with heat, heart, humor, and romance, and I really enjoyed it! The storyline and characters Meghan Quinn created were highly entertaining, and I loved her writing style and sense of humor. Roark and Sutton’s story had some moments that I wasn’t fond of, and other times where I wasn’t fully feeling it, but overall I enjoyed nearly every aspect of their love story and was very happy with the conclusion!
I’ve been a fan of Meghan Quinn for a while now and in my opinion, she is the queen of romantic comedy. And a Diary of A Bad Boy is the perfect example why. This story is sweet, romantic, funny, a little bit naughty and a lot sexy 😀 But it does have a pinch of heartbreak that will just make you fall in love with Roark just a little bit more 🙂
After reading The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister, I knew that Roark’s story will be a must read. I mean, he is the ultimate bad boy who drinks, smokes and changes women like he changes underwear. So I pretty much knew that ones he falls, he is going to fall hard. And oohhhh, how the mighty have fallen 😀 One look, a call and a few text messages and Roark is a goner. And though in the beginning, I thought that Sutton is a little bit of a prude, she definitely changed my mind and convinced me that she is the perfect match for this bad boy.
With all that being said, I don’t want you to think that Roark is just an a-hole. He might have those tendencies and every now and then act like one but he also has a heart of gold. Though after his heartbreaking past, that sweet, loving and romantic part of him is hidden so deep behind the wall erected to protect him, that very few people manage to see and get to know the real man. So, it’s to be expected that the relationship between Sutton and Roark is not an easy one. But with their banter and behaviour they do create some hilarious situations 😀 There are a few heartbreaking ones, so be prepared for those. But mostly, be prepared for Roark to claim your heart.
I am not going to reveal any more but I would say this. If you are looking for an incredible romantic comedy, look no further. I can guarantee that you would love Sutton and Roark’s story. As for me, I can’t wait to find what happens with Rath. I have a feeling he will be my leading man. So beware, I call dibs 😀
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Roark is a bad boy. So much so, he’s ordered to go to counseling and do community service. Roarke’s attempts to keep a diary for therapy is one of my favorite parts of this book.
As for how he met Sutton, their phones both get knocked to the ground and they end up with each other’s phones. Roark is hilarious in his attempts to string Sutton along as much as possible while she’s trying to get her phone back. How is it possible that such a “bad boy” is endearing and annoying at the same time?
I love how strong of a female character Sutton is. She knows who she is and what she wants and won’t apologize for any of it. And the chemistry between Roark and Sutton… HOT!
This is a fantastic standalone romantic comedy that promises to hold your attention from start to finish.
I was very generously provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Oh wow I have been waiting for Roark’s story and I’m now in love/lust <3<3
We met Roark in Secret to Dating Your Best Friends Sister and I was completely intrigued by this Irish badboy and I couldn't wait for him to meet his match and drop to his knees.
Roark was my dream, he was sexy AF, broody, had great banter and sarcasm and he was Irish, I was certainly imagining his Irish drawl whilst reading.
Sutton was his perfect match. She was sassy, sexy and stubborn as hell with Roark. She pushed his buttons and he gave her the strength she needed to do so. Together these two shone bright.
Meghan has never written a book I haven't loved and devoured straight away. She always delivers her trademark blend of humour, emotion and so much hot chemistry, that makes her writing completely addictive.
With Diary of a Bad Boy she gave me all the feels, I laughed so much with the banter and some of the diary entries, I swooned over Roark and my heart broke when he was an idiotic male for Sutton.
Now I am gearing up for Rath's book
***I received an ebook copy from the author at no cost***
Meghan Quinn brings it again with a hilarious and sweet romantic comedy featuring my favorite kind of book boyfriend – the bad boy.
I loved EVERYTHING about this book! The characters are fantastic. Roark is exactly what you’d expect a bad boy to be: he’s sexy and tough all over. Nothing phases him … Except the right woman, who has the ability to turn on the romantic side of Roark. The right woman comes along in Sutton. Quinn made these two so fun to read! There was off-the-charts chemistry, witty banter, and all kinds of moments that made me laugh out loud. There were also these pieces of sweetness that made their way into the story as well, and I loved it.
The plot is fun too! Who would ever expect to get to read a diary written by a bad boy? This is the first time I’ve ever read one and Quinn did not disappoint.
The world that Quinn created is fun and the way she writes is so vivid, I felt like I was there. I fell in love with the secondary characters when I Was reading too, and especially loved the bromance that was going on .
When Meghan Quinn writes comedy, she knows how to bring it. She’s one of my favorite authors in this genre and if you haven’t had a chance to read her books yet, you have NO IDEA what you’re missing out on!
Five stars to this novel!
Roark McCool wants nothing more then to be numb from the world while holding a tumbler of whiskey in his hand but when he accidentally swaps phones with Sutton Green, he quickly falls for her innocent charm and challenging wit. He knows she’s not the girl for him, but he’s too tempted to stay away . . . even when he finds out she’s his client’s daughter. I MEAN COME ON!! READ IT!
Meghan Quinn has provided me with yet another book boyfriend to love! Diary of a Bad Boy is the story of a whisky drinking, cigarette smoking, zero f*cks given Roark McCool, who is without a doubt one of the BEST heros that I’ve read. He’s such a hot freaking mess…and I loved it.
Sutton Green is a charming, sweet, southern bell who is no match for the rudeness she receives from Roark, until she goes outside her comfort zone and steps up her game. The steamy chemistry, the fantastic quick-witted banter was AMAZING between Sutton and Roark and I couldn’t get enough. The sexual tension between the two..my oh my!
The only reason I didn’t give this book a five star rating was because I felt that Sutton was a little too naive towards the beginning of the book and then *poof* she’s got lady balls. Also, there’s an incident towards the end of the story with Roark, Sutton and her father. It just didn’t seem to fit for me as the father didn’t act that way throughout the rest of the book.
However, I really enjoyed bad boy Roark McCool and recommend this book!
Mrs Quinn never disappoint !!!! This author write her books in exactly THAT way like I want to read all my romantic stories. For sure, she’s genious !!! SHE made me smile, she made me cry… plus she knows how to make me blush !!!!
Diary of A Bad Boy from Mrs Quinn is a book definetly from “won’t put it down” kind. Since first pages Roark and Sutton’s story sucked me in compeletely, I’ve enjoyed every moment that I spent with this author and her characters.
Roark and Sutton together are great company. They both are so different like they could only be… however I like very much when my bookish chacters don’t match perfect for each other! The best fun is to watch how they try not to fall in love Roark and Sutton have amazing chemistry . I could feel how their relationship grown in someting more, plus…. it’s a quite forbbiden love story too, right ???? Not too much drama, with delicious steamy and funny times.
Highly recomended book for rom-com lovers.
Roark….. oh Roark……. you did not disappoint. You were everything you eluded to in HTDYBFS…….actually you were more.
Bad boy, Ahole, hot mess with more issues than People magazine. But such a huge heart just needing someone to look beyond the smoke and whiskey.
Sutton you had me worries at first. Inherent good girl, a little timid letting your southern manners get you walked all over. But you find your sass and hold your own and then some against Roark.
These two really are the ying to the yang for each other. Sutton is the safe place Roark needs, where he can know he will always be enough just as he is. Roark shows Sutton to stand up for herself and pushes her to step out of her comfort zone and take risks.
Loved this book so hard!!!! Only Meghan can make me hyena laugh during a book.
Dear Diary,
I’m a hopeless romantic lass who fell for a bad boy named Roark!
Well now… he totally surprised me.
Oh yeah and that cover model was the perfect image of Roark in my mind as I read!
Author Meghan Quinn gives a new book boyfriend you want to hate but end up falling hard for in the end because he is just that awesome.
My steps for falling Roark happened in this order while reading:
I freaking wanted to choke him,
then strangle him,
then slap him,
then kick him in the balls just like Sutton wanted to,
then I started to find his cocky persona a turn on because aren’t we all suckers for a bad boy with a smart mouth (in more ways than one) & a sexy confidence with an accent to die for.
And then he did me in on the way he did Sutton…
Yep not giving away what happened but all I will say when reading this book is a YES in finding out if Roark is such a Bad Boy as everyone thinks he is.
Totally enjoyed this book.
It’s full of memorable funny moments, steamy & of course that perfect amount of romance that will have your heart swooning.
5 popped!
Ohmigosh I loved this!! I didn’t want it to end!!!
I am obsessed with Roark…as anyone would be. From the moment the Irish bad boy wrote in his diary appeared on the page to the times he said “fook”, I was a goner!! Swoon fest 2019 attendee right here ladies and gents.
From the beginning this book had me hooked. I’m not crazy to be jealous of a book character, right?! Please tell me I’m not alone in this because I was jealous of Sutton! I immediately loved Roark and everything about him.
My only complaint, and it’s a tiny one, is that I wish the phone bit (it’s at the beginning so you’ll know what I’m talking about once you read it. And you NEED to read it!) wouldn’t have lasted quiiiite as long as it did but it doesn’t take away from the story at all…i think that’s just personal preference!
Anyway, I’m obsessed with this book and it’s one of my faves of the year and definitely one of my faves of Meghan Quinn!
Diary of a Bad Boy is hands down, my all-time favorite Meghan Quinn book to date. I love a good enemies to lovers romance, and this one was everything that I could possibly want and more. There were plenty of laughs, swoons and a whole lot of sexy good times.
Roark is a sexy, arrogant and rebellious playboy. Sutton is a smart, funny and charming country girl. After a chance encounter one night, the two of them accidentally end up with one another’s phones. When she tries to get her phone back, he toys with her, frustrating her to no end. He pushes her buttons like nobody else, but she stands her ground and doesn’t give in. The push and pull between these two is absolutely hilarious. I often found myself laughing out loud with tears running down my face. These two are really something else!
Diary of a Bad Boy is a fun, smart and sexy reading delight! The story was brilliantly crafted and absolutely amazing. A true Meghan Quinn masterpiece that you definitely will not want to miss. So what are you waiting for? Go and grab yourself a copy. It’s the perfect read to curl up to and spend your day getting lost in.
I love this book!!! This was the perfect enemies to lovers book. It has the perfect balance of a bad boy, sweet heroine, laughter, sexiness and heartbreak.
From the very beginning, I was laughing hard! The banter between Roark and Sutton is absolutely hilarious. His diary entries were the best! Even from the beginning, their chemistry was undeniable. I could not help but to route for their relationship.
I love how Roark pushed every single one of Sutton’s buttons but I loved it even more when she started to push back! She got out of her comfort zone and gave him a taste of his own medicine.
I also fell in love with all of the side characters. Maddie, Bram and Rath helped make this more even more with their hilarious personalities. Bram’s proposal is one I will NEVER forget because I laughed so damn hard! **I wanted to pee myself from laughing!!**
The ending had my heart in full swooning mode!! Seriously, Roark is my new Meghan Quinn book boyfriend!
I think I see a potential love connection coming with two side characters. I am really, REALLY hoping we get more from this group of friends!
I could not recommend this book enough to all my fellow book lovers!
I can’t wait to have this baby on my shelf!
I laughed and I cried and I LOVE Diary of a Bad Boy! This book was soooo very good! A must read as far as I am concerned.
Meghan Quinn writes with so much humor and emotion. She is a must read author. I can just picture the dialog going on in her head as she writes.
This is Roark McCool (it’s a cool name) & Sutton Green’s story. Roark can be such an a***ole. Well he is a “bad boy”.
The interaction, dialog & chemistry between these two is wonderful. There was a cell phone switch by mistake between Sutton and Roark. Then when Sutton tries to get it back that’s when Roark is the jerk. And, that is the start of their romance. As I said before I LOVE this book. 5 stars all the way. Oh, and I am such a sucker for an Irish accent!
Roark has 2 best friends one is Bram and he was the star of The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister. This book is already out and is Bram’s story. Rath is Roark’s other best friend and Rath’s story needs to be told.
5 Stars
Meghan Quinn has hit the motherload with Diary of a Bad Boy. She checked all my boxes with this one and I loved every single page. Roark McCool is a whiskey loving, foul-mouthed bad boy who has a pension for getting into fights. His latest brawl ends up with his friend Rath grabbing what he thinks is his phone, but turns out to be a smoking hot blonde with whom he is enjoying holding her phone hostage. So, imagine his surprise when she shows up at a meeting with his biggest client, and he realizes she’s his daughter. Classic!
I loved that Sutton seems like she’s all sweet innocent, but she does have a feisty snarkiness to her and she gives as good as she gets and is constantly putting Roark in his place. These two have a chemistry that is EXPLOSIVE, and I felt the frustation right along with them. The broken hottie with the sexy Irish accent just wormed his way into my heart and didn’t want to let go. I loved watching the growth his character has throughout this entire book, and there’s nothing sexier than when a broken man finds his own self worth.
Meghan Quinn is definitely one of my favorite RomCom authors, but I love that her books always have a side of seriousness within the story. There were so many laugh out loud moments for me (hello Bram’s kickball chain and pee pants), but I loved the depth within this story as well. I cannot wait for Rath’s story and to read more about these guys. Great read!
