Upon the sudden deaths of her parents in a car accident, credit fraud investigator Allie Fox traded her fast-paced life in Chicago for a boatyard bookkeeping job in sleepy Carteret County, North Carolina. It is a huge transition, especially as she is now the sole caregiver for her younger autistic brother. But when the yard foreman mysteriously ends up dead at work, she can’t resist being pulled … pulled into the mystery.
Plenty of people had reason to want Ty Guthrie dead, but he had been kind to her as a kid, and even the sheriff’s department thinks there may have been foul play. Despite the possibility of alienating all of her co-workers and risking her livelihood, Allie becomes a consultant on the case to discover the murderer in their midst.
The deeper she digs, the more secrets she unravels, and the killer turns his sights on her, and even worse, her brother. At odds with law enforcement and the DA while a massive hurricane bears down on the coast, the only thing that matters is that her brother is in danger. With everything to lose and time running out, it’s up to Allie alone to stop the killer, or die trying.

Reading “Diamonds, Teaks & Murder” was truly riveting! I read it ridiculously fast!
This is a second impressive murder mystery written by A.M. Ialacci!
I loved being introduced to another one of her protagonists! A.M. Ialacci truly gets you invested! It was fun to be back after reading her first book, “Sight in the Dark”.
Allie Fox was just as unstoppable at finding answers, as I was in finishing her story!
I was so wrapped up in her livelihood, and that of her brother; that I had to know what the outcome was going to be…and….What a surprise it was!!
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for fair and honest review.
This gripping mystery by A.M. Ialacci was definitely a page turner. The book starts with a mystery that left me wondering the entire book “ who done it?”.
The mystery surrounding the death of Ty is one that will leave you scratching your head….. and, maybe even leave you shocked after you find out who it is; I know I certainly was.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Each of A.M. Ialacci books have turns that keep you wanting to read more.
I would definitely recommend this book, as well as her previous book “Sight in the Dark” (A Crimson Falls Novella).
Diamonds, Teak & Murder, No. 1 by A. M. Ialacci is the first book I have read by this author and I absolutely loved it from the very first page. I found it to be an easy to read, gripping mystery centered around Allie Fox and her autistic brother that Allie is raising after her parents died in an accident. The plot was intriguing and kept me in suspense until the very end. I thought the author did a great job of weaving various issues of autism into the story and how to handle them was excellent. I rated it a five.
I love a good whodunit, add in the gorgeous setting and an impending hurricane and I’m hooked. Allie Fox, the protagonist, has recently lost her parents and is now caring for her younger brother, Ryan, who has autism. I was particularly intrigued by his character, having worked with ASD students for several years. His character was written very believably, and his connection to older sister touched me. I also liked the budding romance between Allie and boat mechanic, Mike, and hope to see more of them in the future novels. All in all, I was entertained and intrigued by this mystery, and look forward to reading more from Ms. Ialacci!
This is a very enjoyable read, full of twists and turns and keeps you gripped to the very end. I love the characters and the way the book is written, the description of places etc is spot on and not full of wasted word. I believe this is the first book from this author and wow, this lady is talented and I definately look forward to reading more books.
5 star all the way.
Diamonds, Teak and Murder is my second story by A.M. Ialacci, and I really enjoy her style. This story is a mystery with lots of suspects and complicated characters. This story will grab you and pull you right in
Following the death of their parents.
Allie has left her job as a fraud investigator and returned home to care for her autistic brother. She’s now working in a boat repair business. Suddenly, the son of the business owner is killed in a horrible accident, or was it an accident.
The Chief of Police has asked Allie to help with the investigation due to her experience in fraud investigation. The more they look into the case, the more it appears that practically everyone is under suspicion, even the father.
I did receive an advance copy of this five star story from the author. And this is my honest review of this mesmerizing story that grabbed me at the first page.
