A pretend relationship…within a pretend relationship.Attorney Evan Stone knows every crazy stipulation in billionaire Rudy Carmichael’s will. After all, he wrote it. And he’s determined to make sure each one is fully met by Rudy’s triplet daughters. Even if that means dating the workaholic CEO, Ava. Or pretending to at least. And even if it means resisting the so-right-for-him-she’s-totally-wrong … so-right-for-him-she’s-totally-wrong party girl, Cori.
Cori’s only got three things on her to do list from her dad:
- Move to Bliss, Kansas.
- Run his pie shop with her sisters for a year.
- No dating. For six months.
But stepping in for her sister when it’s clear that Ava and Evan aren’t fooling anyone with their “romance” isn’t really dating. And falling for her sister’s pretend boyfriend while pretending to be her sister…well, that’s ridiculous. No matter how real things feel whenever she and Evan are together.

WOW! This has got to be the best book I’ve read by Erin Nicholas so far, and I am a huge fan of all her books. I wish I could give it six stars. This terrific comedic romance flips stereotypes on their heads, and is an absolutely marvellous read. I cried and laughed in equal measure; the depth of the characters created is fantastic. By the end, I felt like they were all my friends. I don’t know how I’m going to wait for the next books, but I can promise it won’t be patiently!
The thoughts that ran through Evan’s head, “Evan felt his body stir even from this far away. He wasn’t sure if it was the jacket or the boots, but he didn’t think he’d have her take either off in bed.” I think the best part of this book were Evan’s thoughts,“I really like your sprinkles, but is this the best time for this?” And when will be the best time, because I can be available whenever.” I really liked this book, I loved the small town, fell in love with the sisters and their relationship, I just can’t wait for more
OMG!OMG!OMG! Loved this story so much! It was cute. It was fun. It was sweet. And of course it was also sexy. Such a sigh worthy read that will put a smile on your face and tug at your heartstrings at times too. I absolutely loved Evan and Cori together. They were the perfect fit. And I loved that the Billionaires in Blue Jeans were the sisters. For some reason when I first heard the series name I kept thinking the heroes were the billionaires but nope, they’re the Carmichael sister triplets. What an amazing start to a great new series. I can’t wait to read about the other two sisters. Now I can go back to my regularly scheduled life. I’ve ignored my family for two days to read this wonderful story. But I have a feeling I’m going to go back and reread it again soon because I loved it that much.
Loved loved Evan and Cori’s love story. From their first encounter I knew they wouldn’t beable to stay away from one another.
Erin Nicholas has once again made me fall in love with another small town and the folks who live there after reading Diamonds and Dirt Roads, book 1 in her new Billionaires in Blue Jeans series. I never had any doubt at all because she is an amazing storyteller who knows how to blend romance, friendship, humor and food all in one book. I was smiling throughout the whole story as Ava, Brynn and Cori began their journey in Bliss, Kansas to fulfill the stipulations in their father’s will. I personally think their father Rudy was playing matchmaker in his own way in hopes that they would find love with Evan, Parker and Noah. I totally fell in love with Evan and Cori together right from the start. I adored Cori, her personality, sassiness, spontaneity and intelligence. The way Evan always looked at Cori and saw her for who she was deep inside really melted my heart. These two were perfect for each other. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series as it has already won a place in my heart.
Diamonds and Dirt Roads (Billionaires in Blue Jeans) is the first book in an amazing new series by Erin Nicholas. Did I say amazing? I mean AMAZING! And yes I did mean to shout that! Rudy Carmichael leaves his old life behind and find unexpect happiness in small town, Bliss, Kanas. Before he dies, he put in place stipulation that his three triplet daughters are going to have to meet if they want to get their hands on his company and his millions. This first book is Cori and Evan’s story. You also meet Ava, Brynn, Parker and Noah plus, the quirky residents of Bliss. This is a fun, laugh out loud, fast, fantastic read. It needs to be on your TBR list.
Triplet daughters of a recently deceased billionaire have to follow his will to the letter to get their inheritance. So…they move to Bliss, Kansas and take on his ‘rules’. They’ve completed Rule# 1, which was move to Bliss. Rule #2 is to run Rudy’s pie shop (WHAT??). Rule #3 is different for each daughter.
Book #1 is Cori and Evan’s story, although it didn’t begin that way!
Cori, the ‘party girl’ of the trio cannot date anyone for six months. Ava her workaholic triplet sister must date someone from Bliss for six months. Since Evan is on the triplets side and is the attorney that wrote the ironclad will for their father Rudy, Evan and Ava decide to ‘date’. One problem, Cori and Evan are attracted to each other, very attracted to each other!
Trying to find loopholes around their father’s will, trying to get Evan to help. Cori, trying to ONLY do the accounting for the pie shop when she LOVES to bake and is quite good at it and trying to watch her sister ‘date’ the man she is rapidly falling for, keeps this book moving right along.
Small town romance at its finest.
Diamonds and Dirt Roads is a Small town Love story, written by my favorite author, Erin Nicholas. Once again, Erin has delivered the first book of the series with an amazing punch and sent this straight to my favorites!
When Rudy, their billionaire father, leaves a list of “odd” requirements in his will in order for his daughters to inherit his billions and to keep the company, his triplet daughters; Ava, Brynn, and Cori, agree to move to the small town of Bliss to live together in Rudy’s house (one of the requirements) and run the pie shop he created (unbeknownst to them!). This seems doable for a year, but the intelligent, strong-willed women need to find loopholes in the stipulations in order to make it all happen. It doesn’t help that Evan, the attorney for Rudy’s will, is hot (and enjoys sprinkles and caramel macchiatos) and Cori instantly falls for him, even though she is not allowed to date for 6 months, and he is in a fake relationship with her sister, Ava.
I was SO engulfed in Diamonds and Dirt Roads that I was reading EVERY second I could…I never wanted to put it down (My husband called it my “book crack”!). The description of the town of Bliss was so perfect, sweet and “small-townish”, that I lived there in my mind (and WANT to live there in real life)! There are a few different twists and turns in this story and I started wondering how anyone could wrap these up and not leave the reader with some loss or confusion…but WOW! Just…WOW, Erin! AMAZING job! (I shouldn’t haven’t ever questioned it…LOL) The ending is one of the BEST endings I have read in a VERY long time! Ends with plenty of closure (Even though I REALLY didn’t want the book to end!) and yet leaves you ready and counting down for the next book in the series, High Heels and Haystacks.
There are so many wonderful lines and quotes and scenes (some of them pretty “juicy”) in this book!!! Here’s one of my FAVES…
Cori…“What do you have a lot of?”
“Wheat, corn, and hay fields,” Evan said with a grin. “Pickup trucks. And dirt roads.”
YES!!!!! Heart-Flutter! Swoon! This about sums up my reaction to this whole book! This “forbidden” love story of Cori and Evan was hot! I cannot wait for the rest of the Billionaires in Blue Jeans series to release!
Another winner by Erin Nicholas. First book in a new series and I am already impatiently waiting for book 2. Triplets sisters have to move to Kansas for one year according to their father’s will. Each sister has to do something outside their comfort zone. First up is Cori who falls for her father’s lawyer, Evan. Even though Evan has plans to pretend to date Ava to help with part of the will’s stipulations. Of course there are no sparks when Ava and Evan are near each other but the minute Cori is anywhere near Evan there are fireworks. I loved how they tried to stay away from each other because the had to for sake of the will but they just couldn’t deny their attraction. The chemistry between these two was HOT and the kissing and sex was even hotter. Definitely recommend this book, you won’t be disappointed!
I have loved every series by EN so I was beyond excited for this new series! This first book in the Billionaires in Blue Jeans series has completely drawn me in.
Triplets Ava, Brynn, and Cori have to move to Bliss, Kansas in order to fulfill the terms of their father’s will. The terms couldn’t be crazier and I loved every second of these sisters looking for loopholes and trying their hardest to step into roles that are completely out of their comfort zones. This first book in the series focuses on Cori, the youngest and funnest of the triplets, and Evan, their father’s lawyer who wrote the will. Everything about these two is fun but even more than that, they’re loyal, caring, and all around awesome.
I’m really looking forward to the rest of this series!! I can’t wait for Ava!!
Five Shiny Whipped Cream Guns
This book contains both swearing (including f-bombs) and on-page sex. If those things will cause you to leave a bad review, you might want to skip this one. But if you do, you’ll be missing a heck of a book. And, although the blurb might make it might seem like there is a love triangle between Ava, Evan, and Cori, there absolutely is not one. Everyone goes into the fake-relationship-within-a-fake-relationship with their eyes open. While there are some moments of discomfort during the whole debacle, there is never any question who Evan is in love with.
This story was every single thing that I want in a book. Erin Nicholas absolutely nailed the perfect balance between the sad backstory, the sexy times, the humor (so much humor), the swoon-worthy, and all of the best small-town feelings. This probably sounds weird, but Ms. Nicholas just has a way of writing that makes the reader *feel* more – the little moments, however incidental they might seem, really mean something.
I must confess that I’m over billionaire stories HOWEVER, this book is not your usual “swaggering, stupidly rich man swoops in and rescues the poor, destitute, helpless woman from her horrible life of middle-class horror” trope. In this book, the women have the money (shocking, I know) and although they do enjoy the benefits of their money they aren’t spoiled little socialites who do nothing but shop and drink all day. They’re actually really great characters and despite their tremendous personality differences, I adored all three sisters. I identified more with Brynn, but I thought Cori was absolutely hilarious and totally lovable, and I cannot wait to see Ava’s world get shaken up. But my favorite character in this book was Evan. From the very moment he appeared on the page, I knew he was going to be different but I had no idea how much I was going to adore him. (Slight spoilers from here on out but nothing big) I LOVED that he saw Cori for who she was from the start, that he saw the coffee under the sprinkles, and that he defended her so staunchly. That level of insight and caring made him one of my favorite Erin Nicholas characters ever. And that ending? Absolute perfection.
The only bad thing about this book is that it’s over and I have to wait until April to read more. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
If you enjoy a really well-written small town romance that has a really great cast of characters, you should definitely read this book. It will make you laugh, it will make you swoon, and it will make you believe in love even if you don’t have millions of dollars.
I love that this book is so different from all others, The characters are all wonderful, the plot is fabulous, the writing is superb…just a book I’d reach for again and again!
Triplets with daddy issues inherit their estranged father’s pie shop in the Bliss, Kansas, and they have to adhere to all his crazy will stipulations to inherit the rest of the family business. What could go wrong??
Let’s me count the ways: 1) a fake romance that’s not fooling anyone 2) a real romance that’s not fooling anyone and 3) three sisters who are complete opposites of each other and now have to live under one roof for a year.
I love a small town romance. One where everyone knows everyone else’s business, but I have to admit, I struggled a bit to balance the fake versus real relationship with Cori and Evan. Or “Ava” and Evan. It got a bit in the way for me . . . but I really enjoyed the real intensity between Cori and Evan and their attempts to hide in plain sight when Cori stepped in as Ava., but they really weren’t fooling anyone who was close to them.
And I loved the growth in the relationship between Cori and her sisters. That they really started to understand each other–that they may look identical, but their hopes and aspirations were vastly different underneath and that it was okay. And that their father really did know the girls even if he didn’t show it when he was alive.
Diamonds and Dirt Roads was a really good start to this new Billionaires in Blue Jeans series. I’m anxious to see what happens with Ava and Parker and Brynn and Noah!
I loved this book so much, which is first in a new series Erin Nicholas is working on.
Once i picked it up i could not put it down. All the words I clicked on above to describe the book are correct,oh yeah and its also sexy sexy sexy. Evan, yum!!!
I love the triplet’s and their challenge that their late billionaire father put in his will . The town of Bliss is so cute and all the close group of older guys who are the salt of the earth .
Read this book I promise you will love it too.
What a wonderful start to a new series by author Erin Nicholas. The sisters, triplets learn that they have to all sort of disappear to a small town in Kansas for a year to make …pies. What a well written and at times extremely soul touching but yet funny book. I love how Erin Nicholas has the ability to reach into my past and touch a little bit… Adding it to her stories. It is like she know me personally, which she does not, and finds she needs to showcase my flaws and fix me. These sisters, like so many of us ( whether by blood or not) have issues as well as their strengths. Some were expected and others were happy surprises. I invite you to sit back, grab some crispy bacon, a jar of Nutella and just enjoy some Bliss.
From the author of a spectacular small town series about Sapphire Falls comes another series set in Bliss, Kansas. Ms. Nicholas has a talent for creating a small town & a cast of characters so realistic & lifelike that the readers hopes, dreams & emotions become caught up in the plot. You can’t help but read it from beginning to end as fast as you can to see what happens. I had to laugh at Cori in the opening scene showing up late to the reading of the will in a T-shirt saying “Sorry I’m late, but I didn’t want to come”. You could feel the hurt pouring off of her every time someone referred to her or acted like she was the original good time, party girl. She knew her place in the family & she played it well. Why didn’t anyone dig down & see what was underneath the facade?
Evan is the male equivalent of Cori. He supposed to help the three girls transition to life in Bliss & oversee their efforts to make sure no one cheats. Cori’s dad supposedly thinks Evan is a good match for Ava. Ava is 100% business all the time, no fun & games. Evan is supposed to make Ava spend time discovering a life outside of the shop. No one is more surprised than Evan when he feels nothing for Ava but has such intense chemistry for her identical sister, Cori. He’s determined to ignore it & focus on Ava.
Erin Nicholas has another hit on her hands! This was another emotional read from the hurt to the intense chemistry to love. The sisters all love each other & it comes through even though their attitudes & likes are completely different. The old men in the coffee group give color, wit & wisdom to the story. I can’t wait for High Heels & Haystacks!
“Well, when you’re in love, things like hearing her laugh at the jokes on the Late Show make you just as hot as how she looks when she ends over. And the way she cheats, badly, at Scrabble makes you want her just as much as the way she looks in lingerie. And even when she’s bare-assed naked, you make a note to go get a bag of gumdrops the next time you’re at the store because they’re her favorites. It gets all mixed up.”
Diamonds and Dirt Roads, is an excellent start, to the new Billionaires in Blue Jeans series. I loved the book, & thoroughly enjoyed reading it! It’s a sexy & touching story about triplet sisters, & the men of Bliss.
Their relationship with their dad Rudy,
was not the best. His recent death, left the sisters confused. His will has a stipulation in it before they can inherit. They are to live in Bliss, Kansas for one year, following his rules to the letter.
Rudy’s handsome, young attorney Evan came up with a plan to help himself,
& to help Ava learn how to have fun,
by dating. But, when you have sister’s switching places, to cover for each other, things get a little crazy. Can’t wait to read High Heels and Haystakes!!
A MUST READ BY EVERYONE!!!
Diamonds and Dirt Roads (Billionaires in Blue Jeans, #1) is an excellent read. This book is fun, sexy and sweet. An interesting plot powers this well written book as it introduces us to the town of Bliss, Kansas, triplet sisters Cori, Brynn and Ava and the last will and testament of a father with regrets and an iron will to do right by his daughters even after death. This book focuses on party girl Cori and by-the-book attorney Evan. These two have such chemistry that just lights up the pages of this book. A beautiful romance packed with charm, humor and romance it definitely belongs on your keeper shelf. I’m posting a voluntary, honest review after reading an advance copy of this book.
Favorite Quotes:
There was plenty to mourn when it came to her and her father. His death was not even number one on the list.
He’d actually thought briefly about how a six-month public relationship with her would keep him essentially celibate, but then he’d quickly stopped thinking about that when he’d started to hyperventilate. He’d told himself he could make it for six months. He was a grown man, for God’s sake. He could sacrifice for a greater good. People went off to war, after all. And into space. And…other places where they couldn’t have sex for long periods of time even if he couldn’t think of one at the moment.
I’m sitting here feeling like a regular, dumb-ass guy who just happened to rub a lamp and ended up with a goddess genie in his lap and I was hoping to get a really good taste of you before you figured out how much better you could do.
You should never say all of it to me… All is a lot with me. I’m best in small doses.
My Review:
Diamonds and Dirt Roads was an entertaining and enjoyable read despite the somewhat complicated premise that featured well-educated, wealthy, and privileged identical triplets who were vastly different in personality and temperament, and requiring them to adhere to precise social and vocational stipulations while living together in a small-town, and gasp working in a pie shop selling their own creations, or forfeit billions in inheritance. I enjoyed the well-crafted and multileveled storylines, which were as insightfully thoughtful as they were cleverly amusing. The characters were endearingly quirky, enticingly complex, and whip-smart. I reveled in Ms. Nicholas’s storytelling, clever levity, sharp wordplay, humorous and titillating verbal sparring, witty banter, sassy word duels, and provocative teasing. And in the midst of all this upheaval, role reversals, and family drama, a sweet, transformative, and steamy love story took root where it was not supposed to, which of course, made it all the more alluring.
Wow! I love the idea of this series. Triplet billionaire women forced to move to the middle of Kansas and run their father’s pie shop in order to inherit. They all have jobs they have to fulfill in order to meet the requirements. And he left pretty some pretty specific instructions on their love lives too.
In Diamonds and Dirt Roads, party sister Cori has to keep the books for the shop and not date. For six months. Too bad she just met her father’s lawyer, Evan. Evan decides to fake date Cori’s sister Ava in order to help her meet the terms of the will. Too bad he can’t keep his hands off Cori.
I loved the relationship between the sisters and I loved the small town of Bliss. Cori and Evan were off the charts hot with one of the best first kisses I have ever read. I can not wait to read more of this series!!
