An unambitious girl from the Bronx has her bloodline to thank for an experience of a lifetime. The Reifs and Carbons are destined to be together, or so the Carbon family contract states. Mag Reif volunteers over her younger, uninterested sister to marry the Duke, Callum Carbon, never expecting the arranged marriage to be as barbaric as the concept of the contract. The Duke has no interest in … interest in being forced into marrying and impregnating the obnoxious diamond from the Bronx, and he makes sure she knows it. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel for both of them, just as soon as she bears a male heir. She can return to America, leaving behind her son of course, but it’ll get her away from the graphite Duke’s monstrous persona.
The Carbon Couple glimmer like crystals in public, but despite the lust, their fiery hate is turning them to coal.

H.Q. Frost has turned me into a puddle of tears and crushed emotions.
Diamond was nothing like I expected and far more addictive than I hoped. It’s dark, depressing, and equally intriguing. It is also hopefully and naive. Frost preys upon all your emotions, making sure you don’t know which way is up. You will cry, you will rage, and you will beg for Graphite.
I don’t know whether I’m mad or desperate. I don’t know whether I want to hug the author of beat her with a club. I guess we shall see once if I survive book 2.
Just when you think you know what Frost is going to give you in a book, well, she does something else entirely. Don’t get me wrong, she’s giving you one of those fun mindfucks she is so great at doing, but she isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. She’s hard truths, conflicting feelings, and hate.
Poor girl from the US? Check.
Rich man in another country? Check.
Arranged marriage? Double check.
Doesn’t seem so bad, now does it?
This isn’t a sappy love story.
This isn’t an enemies to lovers story.
I’m not sure what this is.
A hate story?
A fuck-with-me story?
Read it for yourself. If you figure it out, let me know
Holy cow did this book surprise me, and frustrate me! Why could Callum not see Mag for what she was right away. She was a breath of fresh air, going into a strange situation willingly, and open to the experience. He was a jacka*s right from the start. Grrr, I wanted to smack him! LOL! Callum rubbed me the wrong way so many times, but then, he would do or say something that would make me swoon a little. If you read the blurb, you know that Mag and Callum have entered into a marriage contract – which NEITHER has even read! So you can understand right there why there were issues from the beginning with the two of them. However, the way it ended!! I can’t wait for book #2 to hit the shelves! This was way more than what I thought it would be! Fantastic read!!
Holy hell, Frost, this book was crazy!!! I mean that in a good way of course. I literally could not put this down. Read in a matter of hours. The ugly tears this book produced were definitely ugly.
Magdalena and Callum were very intense. Mag was excited at the beginning to go on this adventure even though arranged marriage is barbaric in these days. Her excited quickly faded though after she finally met Callum. He is a complete a$$hole and she hates him. Hell, I hated him. Of course, their lust for each other was off the charts. Callum did have some redeeming moments. He really needed to get his head out of his butt though and just admit that he had feelings for Mag. The ending was just as crazy and not what I was expecting. I really can’t wait for book 2!!
