Dial P for Poison (not murder) is the best cozy mystery I have ever read — hands down The characters are fully rounded and interesting and the mysterious murderer completely hidden until the end. I loved this book!
I !oved this book! The descriptions of Ireland were breathtaking and the story was original. I couldn’t put the book down, read late into the see hours.
I am new to the author Zara Keane but she is wonderful. I really enjoyed this cozy mystery set in Ireland. I will be reading more in this series and will be looking for other books written by Zara.
Dial P for Poison is the first in the Movie Club Mystery series. I’ve read all six books and absolutely love each and every one of them. Light-hearted, witty, well-written and compelling plots. And the books are set in Ireland, one of my favorite places to visit. Highly recommend all of the books in this series.
Great book
Good read! Enjoyed the setting and the characters. Wish I could say I figures it out!
An enjoyable first in a series with the MC leaving her home, job and relationship to relocate temporarily to her aunt’s home in Ireland. The mystery is interesting as are the characters, many of whom have secrets they prefer to keep private.
Although it was my pleasure to receive this free book from the author, it was completely my choice to share my honest review.
I enjoyed this trip to a small town in Ireland. Lots of fun characters to learn about.
Down to earth and very funny in parts. Kept me interested.
Good fun story

This is a fun (mostly) little cozy mystery.
Former SFPD cop Maggie Doyle is visiting her Auntie Noreen on a small island in Ireland. Her aunt runs a cafe with a movie theater theme. On movie night, the universally hated town gossip gets murdered. Except the local Sergeant Shea of the garda doesn’t believe her and wants Maggie to stop interfering.
What follows is Maggie’s unrelenting search for the killer. This book has lovable animals, good friends, suspicious characters, a cranky policeman and a possible new love interest for Maggie. Oh, and Maggie can’t cook and is left in charge of the cafe for a short period of time. (This was rather unbelievable.)
When Maggie’s Auntie Noreen is suspected of the murder, Maggie takes her investigation to the next level. She is constantly being obstructed by the recalcitrant Sergeant.
The identity of the killer turned out to be a surprise.
This is a fairly well written and plotted little mystery. I don’t know how I feel about Maggie. She didn’t seem to care that much about the local customs or interested in learning them. It was as if her being an American came automatically with a huge dose of rudeness. She is going to have to shift her attitude for me to like her.
I really liked this book. Normally I read thrillers, but have begun getting into the cozy mysteries. This book was well written with a believable story set on an
island off Ireland (somewhere I’d like to go someday).
Great author
Interesting characters. Easy to read.
An exciting book filled with interesting characters and emotions. The book is a dob’t put down one, because you can’t wait to see the next move. Well researched and very believable. I would have liked to read a follow up on how the relationship develops between the mainland Policeman and the main character.
I thoroughly enjoyed Dial P for Poison, a Movie Club Mystery, by Zara Keane. It was a well written, easy reading cozy Irish village mystery that flowed into a surprise perpetrator ending. There was a little romance with great characters who were lovable and believable. A feel-good murder mystery.
Great book
An entertaining read!
Great characters!
Have actually read this one twice-so far apart that I didn’t remember “who done it.” A surprise both times. This is a very enjoyable read.
