Great book-a continuation of the Hangman series!
Excellent
This is the fourth book in the Hangman series by W.L. Knightly [aka Ali Parker and Lexy Timms] that will have you sitting on the ‘edge of your seats’ as this thriller series continues. Detectives Jake and Jo are getting closer to the serial killer – they know who he is but just can’t find him! But she is too involved due to her father and brother whom Jake hates. He is so conflicted and is at the stage of wondering whether he can trust her professionalism because of her father’s hold over her. However, if they don’t catch the serial killer then her father and brother may be his next victims. On the other hand, the romantic relationship between Jo and Jake is taking a ponding in this tense case and I’m not sure whether they do have a HEA in their future together. There does need to be some extra care with editing due to some ‘I’ and ‘me’ getting mixed up as well as a few tenses. But otherwise, I am really looking forward to book 5! I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. Most Definitely Recommended
WOW!! I don’t even know what to say about this book! I can’t wait to see what WL Knightly gives us next!!
There is so much wonderful tension going on here. The sexual tension between Jake and Jo, the suspense of waiting for the next victim to drop, waiting to see which side will win: the Hangman, who seeks vengeance for his family, Jo’s brother, the monster who got away with murder once, or Jake, the cop and the face of “Justice.”
Another page turner in the Hangman series that does end in a cliffhanger. Jo and Jake are still after the Hangman but he is always several steps ahead of them. This has secrets, lies, deceit and some surprises. This suspense thriller had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what would happen next. I would definitely recommend this amazing series. Jake and Jo are pushed to their limits with this case!
Secrets between them may just be the straw that breaks the bond…
With what looks like a copy cat Hangman on the loose and them exhausting all their resources trying to find the original killer, and prevent more deaths its a suspenseful, heart racing game, that keeps you wondering who will be next, and in my case do I want them to catch the original Hangman??? GAH!!
* throws hands up*
All I am sure of is this dark, crazy train of suspense, thrills, and chills, has me waiting impatiently for the next book!!
It’s just wrong when the twists and turns tie you in a knot. These authors are really on the ball. This story provides more background, makes you feel for the Hangman (you almost don’t want him caught) and Jake and Jo really have trouble. Plan to read it in one sitting—you won’t be able to put it down. I love that we know who did it but instead of that being the end of the story, it’s only the beginning. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
LOOMING SUSPENSE!
GRIPPING suspense continues to hold me captive and the twists play with my Morales while feeling bad for the Hangman and can relate as to why he is seeking redemption but struggling with how wrong it is no matter what. I can’t wait to read more. As always inescapable suspense with unexpected twists and exciting chemistry. An amazing must read that continues to loom in my thoughts long after every word has been read.
Ummm… Wow? I both love and hate when a book leaves me speechless at the end of it. We know who the villains are, we just don’t know how, or even if, they’ll be brought to justice. I’m fighting with myself over what justice for the Hangman will look like. I hate seeing the partnership between Jake and Jo so fractured, but I know the authors have a plan so I’m trying to be patient. I have no idea what’s going to come next in this series and I can’t wait to see what does.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
This series just keeps getting better and better with each book! It’s totally addictive and I couldn’t help myself but read it in one sitting.
As always, intrigue and suspens at every page kept me at the edge of my seat and turning pages. It was really frustrating to read about so much corruption and I can’t help but start to support the Hangman in his revenge.
I’m starting to have an idea on how it will all turn out but it’s still early to say if I’m right. Can’t wait for the next part!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Always so addictive
Spoiler book 3
Always addictive, but complex in terms of character relationships and intrigue
Jo blames Jake for sleeping with his psychologist while he is still attracted to Jo.
The Hangman does not want to give up its goal despite the insistence of his sister-in-law Missy who protects him. Danny, the hostess of the police station is manipulated by Kyle, the son of the senator, half-brother of Jo, without understanding that he extorts information about serial killer murders and that he does not an ounce of romance or love for her. On the other hand, he is still obsessed with his ex who is now married and pregnant with the new judge of the small town where the crimes take place. Meanwhile, the corrupt senator, tries to protect Kyle
In short, the more chapters pass, the more I almost support the serial killer as those who are guilty of murdering or protecting the murderers of his wife and daughter are despicable and continue their actions.

The suspense continues with Devious Crimes. The truth is being revealed very slowly but at the same time we are left with more questions.
Detective Jake Thomas prides himself on being a clean cop. He’s always hated corruption and joined the force to bring the guilty down and clear the innocent. Jo is obviously withholding information regarding her father and brother. Turns out she is not the person he thought she was. Jake gives her the opportunity to open up and tell him but she lies to him.
Jo is between a rock and a hard place. She wants to tell Jake that her brother is living in town, but it would be going against her fathers wishes. It’s always just been her and her mum. It’s a new relationship with her dad and she hasn’t even met her brother yet. The wedge is growing between her and Jake and she doesn’t like it. Things are looking grim with Madden in hiding, another body left for dead and no Jake by her side.
