Fenady Clark’s dream of owning an ice cream parlor has inspired her through some of life’s hardest challenges. Just when the grand opening’s within reach, that wicked rogue, Sebastian Bane, opens shop and starts serving Fenady’s designer flavors, all renamed. She suspects he’s using black magic to poach her recipes, and if she weren’t a good witch instead of a bad witch, she’d whip up a spell and … and retaliate.Sebastian’s come all the way from England to establish his family’s business near Salem. He can’t explain how he and the lovely Fenady keep creating the same ice cream confections, unless it’s enchantment, or fate. Is there room in town for both their dreams? And what will it take to convince an angry white witch she needs him in her life?

Devils Food Ripple with a Cherry on Top was a delightful romp through ice cream shops and lives. Did I mention I LOVE ice cream? Thought I did. Mixing two Wiccas, Sabastian Band and Fenady Clark, a meddling universe, and you have a recipe for flirty fun. When Fenady discovers Sabastian’s ice cream flavors are suspiciously similar to hers, broomsticks fly, so as to speak. Sabastian is convinced more is at work here than meets the eye. A compromise is reached but before it can come to fruition, disaster strikes. Sabastian and Fenady must work together to achieve their dreams.
This is a fun, yummy read. Warning, don’t read if you are hungry. LOL I gobbled this book up in one sitting and enjoyed every minute I spent with the well-developed characters and their ice cream shops and beach adventures. Descriptions are so real you can hear the surf crash against the beach and smell the delicious ice cream flavors. I still want a scoop or two of Devils Food Ripple with a Cherry on Top. I highly recommend this book!
Magic is in the air as a rivalry between two ice cream parlors turns heated. Fenady Clark has worked hard to make her dream come true. Just as she’s about to open her ice cream shop, she discovers an ice cream shop run by Sebastian Bane has very similar flavors to hers. Is he using black magic? Fuming, she tells him to stop. He counters with a truce. But can she trust him? His eyes convey desire and something else. Why does the Universe keep throwing them together? When a terrible storm threatens both Fenady and Sebastian, will they work together or will both dreams shatter?
Devil’s Food Ripple With a Cherry on Top is a delightful, frothy romance, perfect for this time of year. What could be better than two witches making ice cream and falling in love? The romance is slow-building as it starts off as an enemies-to-lovers romance. The description of the ice cream flavors had me craving large quantities of ice cream. The characters, especially handsome British Sebastian, were such fun to read. There’s even a cat who has a distinctive personality. The conflict is there but the main plotline of two ice cream parlor owners falling in love makes this a must-read.
My Rating: 5+ stars
When Fenady Clark and Sebastian Bane both open beachside ice cream shops in the Rockpool, Fenady soon realizes she has more than business competition to deal with. First, she is inexorably drawn to the devilishly handsome Sebastian. Second, they’re both witches. Third, Sebastian Bane’s shop serves ice cream flavors suspiciously, exactly like those she created herself. Has Sebastian stolen her original recipes through black magic or is something else, something like destiny at play here? Fenady refuses to give up on her dream but soon comes up with a compromise to keep them both in business. But it’s not until a epic event occurs that Fenady realizes what the universe has been trying to tell her.
Like all Ms. Strickland’s work, this story was a deftly told, original tale — light, sweet but with all the rich depth of flavor of the best ice cream.
This delightful novella is set in a small town on the coast of Massachusetts, where Fenady Clark makes her dream come true by opening an ice cream parlor on the beach with the most delicious sounding concoctions. Unfortunately, Sebastian Bane has just opened his own ice cream shop not far from Fen’s, and his flavors are strangely similar to hers. Their strained relationship over who is stealing whose flavors turns steamy despite their disagreement, but their road to romance is rocky. Ms. Strickland has created fun characters, who just happen to be witches (of the very nicest kind). This novella is funny, romantic, and a perfect read for a summer day —especially if you pair it with Devil’s Food Ripple with a Cherry on Top.
