this is the first book in this series and what a start. its dark and dangerous in so many ways. you never know whats coming or who to trust. i feel there is so much to learn in the coming books and i cant wait.
This book is the first in a new series and will end in a cliffhanger. All is not what it seems. This book lays the groundwork for the relationship between Devlin Windsor and his Violet Cabot. What initially appears to be a friendship between the characters eventually unfolds to reveal Devlin’s true intention: to ultimately claim the innocent Violet as his own. It’s like a chess game and Devlin has made decisions where Violet has no choice but to capitulate to the devil. It’s another successful collaboration between Isabella Starling and Kelli Callahan to introduce their readers to another captivating couple. Hopefully, the next book will be published very soon!
This book is the first in Kelli Callahan and Isabella Starling’s new Fallen Dynasty series which focuses on the story of Devlin Windsor, known as the Devil due to his cruelty, and Violet Cabot, the young innocent and sheltered daughter of a wealthy single father. These characters had known one another due to the business partnership of their fathers, however, Devlin was several years older then Violet who was a teenager. Devlin acquires Violet when, on her eighteenth birthday, her father is arrested and she financially loses everything including her home. When she receives the black signature envelope from Devlin after this occurs, she knows she has no choice but to go to him. I strongly recommend this dark and intense read with its addictive plot and enthralling characters. I could not put this book down once I started reading it! This short novel ends in a cliffhanger which will be continued in the next book entitled Devil’sToy.

Isa’s back and Jesus what a way to come back. I know she has released a couple of books but this one is hotter than hell! Yes, Devil’s Captive ends on a cliffy, but you have been warned. This book is one of six and if the rest are anything like the ones coming I am ready for them!
Devil’s Captive brings two people that have known each other for years. Dominic Windsor and Violet Cabot. Violet is a sweet and spoiled just turned eighteen-year-old girl that has had a crush on Dominic for years. Then you have an older man-Dominic that is finally ready to put his plan to action when Violet needs a friend the most. But Dominic is not going to be her friend. He is going to be her captor.
There is so much chemistry and pain in this first book that you are upset when it ends. But you can’t put it down. I loved this story! I can’t wait for the next one.
Devlin and Violet grew up as friends. Devlin is older than Violet and he knew she would be his when she grew up. Violet is an eighteen year old girl who has gotten everything she wants for most of her life. Her mother died when she was five. Due to her family circumstances she ends up being Devlin’s captive to do whatever he wants with her. The twists and turns are many and very dark in this story. This ends on a cliffhanger with the next story coming out soon.

This story built up slowly and gradually. I loved how Devlin and Violet simmered in the beginning, Devlin patiently waiting for her to come of age.
Devlin made me angry with his cruelty and indifference towards Violet. But he still made me long for his bossiness.
And what an ending!
What in the heck! I floved it. These two amazing authors brought a new meaning to the word collaboration. Can’t tell where one ends and the other begins. Dark, intense, hot & mind blowing good. I couldn’t put it down. Stayed up into the wee hours of the morning reading. I will be eagerly awaiting the next book.
The first part of a dark romance that will leave you wanting more. I loved Devlin’s dark character, he was brash, takes no nonsense and dominant. He also has a soft side which centers all on Violet. I’m 50/50 with her character, she puts out a tough character but it changes and I didn’t find that weakness brings anything to her character. Overall a good start to the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Kelli and Isabella have written a fab dark romance in Devil’s Captive , Devlin and Violet are fantastic well written characters in this dark read where Devlin has wanted Violet for years and now she is 18 she better watch out after all he’s called the DEVIL for something, couldn’t put it down from the beginning but ends in a cliff hanger so now I am eagerly awaiting the next book , come on people this is a definite one to read

Childhood Friends – Now Questionable. First note that this book is the beginning of a series, it ends on a cliffhanger and I believe there is more than 3 books of this. The story just left you hanging and wanting to know what was going to happen and who was it. It is a dark story, so it may cause triggers for those who are sensitive to this type of writing. For my part – it kept me intrigued, there are so many questions and no answers. The first one is WHY? Why has a childhood friend who has romantic feelings for someone but will not act on them due to respect of an age difference, turn so cold and hurtful?
This story is about Devlin Windsor and Violet Cabot. They seem to have been friends when younger, but on her eighteen-birthday party, her father is removed in front of everyone due to some money laundering involving the terrorist and all assets are frozen, that she is now homeless. Devlin is known as the Devil, but Violet thinks it is ridiculous as she held him with high regards. The story takes the turn when she answers one of his letters thinking that he is just going to help her, but that is not what he want and next thing you know she signed her life away to the Devil in exchange for him to help get her family back to where they once were. He humiliates her in the worst possible way and the worst part is that all her father’s business associate is present for it. The story ends with her being punished, her V-Card intact, and someone wanting to buy her off from the Devil. I guess we need to wait to see what the part will be about…..

Devil’s Captive
Book 1 Fallen Dynasty
Isabella Starling
Kelli Callahan
This is a short novella. It is very dark, hot hot, and a steamy romance read!! It is very captivating! Really liked the main characters and their chemistry!
“I still wanted the bastard— still desired the devil.”
Awesome start to an amazing series!! Can not wait for the next book, Devil’s Toy!!
I received this book as a free ARC copy from the authors and booksprout for my honest review of this book and I absolutely loved it! It pulled me in from the beginning and kept me entertained throughout the entire book. It was very hard to put down because I wanted to read what was going to happen next. It had an awesome storyline, great characters and a cliffhanger that makes you ache for the next book!
So in this book, Violet is an 18 year old who has been sheltered most of her life. She is losing everything and has no place to go until she meets the Devil or should I say Devlin.
Devlin is a strongwilled man and knows what he wants. He has had his sights on Violet since he met her as a teenager. OMG the chemistry between these two is hot, sinful and explosive.
Devlin is a dominating man but Violet is not used to this strong male dominance and not getting her way. It is a struggle but Devlin manages to have Violet submit. This book was amazing and the chemistry between these two was phenomenal! I can’t wait to read the next book!!

3,5* very intriguing start
That is very intriguing start to the series. I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers so beware if you have same attitude toward them. I do not quite get the dynamics between the two main characters. Looks a little bit like a cliche and something I already read that’s why I give it 3,5* and I hope that next parts will only develop and plot will get more suspenseful. I would wish for a less humiliation of heroine and that hero will get a taste of his own medicine. Other than that nicely written and can’t wait to see if there will be some surprise along the way in the next parts.
I am disappointed in Devil’s Captive. The synopsis really drew me in and as I waited for the novel to drop on to the kindle, I waited with bated breath. As I read, the beginning was good, and kept me going, but as the floor drops out from under Violet… that’s when my heart and mind become dull and not intrigued anymore.
I had a hard time with Violet’s inner monologue regarding her “submission” around @58% as it counter acted her actual movements towards Devlin… “I’ll play Devlin’s game, even if I have to give him my innocence, but he will never get my full submission…” but then a mere second later she is rolling over and being commanded without a hitch. Sorry, I had a time with the h not having a single fight in her, not showing a little courage, a push towards the H (in my opinion). Leading up to certain scenes, all I kept thinking was “oh crap, she is going to recoil and let him have it, but then…. dead end.”
‘shrugs shoulders’… but moving onward to Devlin, now he is a total ass for sure. These authors do know how to write a male character who portrays himself like a monster. He’s brash, dominant and doesn’t give a flying-F.
What an opener for a new dark series Devlin the devil and spoiled Violet these two have alot of history and the time has come for him to make his claim with a whole lot of humiliating scenes. Violet seems very innocent and young but I think that’s her being spoiled her whole life.
I loved the back scenes of the past these two have a huge connection but it’s also dangerous. I can’t wait for more.
This book was quite surprise to me. I didn’t know much about it when taking it on and was nicely surprised. It was very hot, very dark and well the steam was breath taking. Devlin was hard to like even towards the end. He was hard, gruff and very deep in his thoughts and actions. Violet was somewhat naive but quickly found her way within the situation. This story which I was unaware has a cliff hanger so there is more coming to the Devlin and Violet story.

I really enjoyed Devlin and Violet’s story. Is he the devil or actually a good guy? The jury is still out in my book. Violet is so much stronger than you would expect of someone her age and I really like how she is not a victim to anything that happens to her. I can’t wait to see what turn this story takes next. I am so stoked about this book. I absolutely loved this story. The storyline was so interesting that it completely captivated me and was so intriguing that I couldn’t stop reading it until I finished with the very last word. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing book. I look forward to the next installment as this leaves you on a cliffhanger Enjoy happy reading

Devil’s Captive was a great collaboration with just the right mix of drama, intensity and sizzle to keep me hooked and wanting more. I liked that the transition between the authors flowed fairly smooth and kept me invested. The push and pull between Violet and Devlin as well as the glimpses into the past built up the suspense and kept me intrigued. After this delicious little tease I’m looking forward to seeing what Devlin has in store next for Violet.
